Attended the 80th Birthday Party of a former colleague. Shucks , he doesn't look a day over 79 LOL. Happy Birthday Dennis.

I attended the Birthday Bash for a former colleague @ The Wildfire today. The Party was held in a side room and not the main dinning area. The room was packed with about 75 people who were present to honor Dennis , the birthday boy. Back in the day , Dennis was a Bagpiper, a good one too. Another bagpiper was in attendance and dressed in his Kilts he played happy birthday on the bagpipes in honor of Dennis , one of the original founders of the bagpipers. The service was quick and efficient and the wait staff , although quite young, was very professional. Ambiance was suitable for a date night. The restaurant itself is quite chic and can accommodate a large number of customers with banquet rooms on the side for special occasions. On the menu today was salad , filet mignon , chicken breast , mashed potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. For dessert, obviously we had birthday cake. A comedian was hired for entertainment and he was quite funny. Gathered together for this event were family , friends and former colleagues. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy as we bid him Adieu , & God Bless You. Happy Trails to You Dennis , until we meet again.

Went to wildfire for a client dinner and it was very nicely done. From the service, food and ambience, it was definitely a chic spot to be at. We had our reservation on a Monday night, which Mondays are usually never busy but not here. It was packed! Completely full restaurant when I walked in. Thankfully we had a private room, which was much nicer and quieter! For apps, we ordered several dishes from shrimp cocktail, fried calamari, goat cheese flatbread, and chicken skewers. I really liked the shrimp cocktail, fresh and crispy. And for my main, I opted for the crab cakes. I definitely judge to see if the crab cakes have a higher ratio of bread crumbs vs crab. And certainly like it when it is higher on the crab! And finally the desserts! Extremely decadent was the triple chocolate cake. But my favorite would be the chocolate moose, lighter and delicious. Overall food was delicious, excellent service and great restaurant. Can definitely see why it was packed on a Monday night!

I'm remiss in having gone to wildfire for years and not having yelped yet. This is our go-to for special occasions. As a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, the decor, service, and food are always on point. This year we went again for New Year's Eve dinner and had a wonderful time. The parking lot is ample and even on a very busy night, it's easy to get parking. The waiting area on New Year's Eve is packed but somehow still large enough to feel more festive than cramped. We had a 6p reservation and while they've always been on time in the past, they were running 15 mins behind. In the lobby and throughout, the Christmas decorations are gorgeous and go so well with the dark wood walls. We were seated in our favorite room, the Savoy, in a cozy booth along the wall. Our server, Amanda, was one of the best I've had anywhere - welcoming and always there when we needed her but never rushing us. We both had their old fashioned which is strong but well made. Along with the bread basket that comes to the table, we split a cup of shrimp and crab bisque. It was perfect - flavorful and creamy but not overly cream-based, chock full of delightful pieces of the seafood. We also split a small Caesar which had a refreshing dressing that was a nice amount without being heavy handed. For our meal, I had the cornbread crusted cod over a bed of shaved Brussels sprouts and cranberry butter, which was one of the specials. The cod tasted fresh and the crust light and nicely crunchy. The Brussels sprouts cooked so they were chewable but still held up nicely and the cranberry butter really makes the dish. Husband had the scallops which are so tender and absolutely perfect. The dish they're in can get a little rich but with how delicious it is. I love their mashed potatoes - simple and not garlicky - a nice antidote to all the rest of the very flavored food. We split a side of the mushroom caps which were so flavorful - quite salty but in a delicious way and with so many lovely notes so the salt is only one component , with a perfect chew. Husband's side was the broccoli which has a refreshing lemony flavor. We were too full for dessert this year but in the past we've enjoyed their cherry pie.

We were visiting our Mom in Glenview ( funny my hometown) and this spot was right across the street from where she lives. We wandered over around 5 pm without a reservation and got seated right away. The place is actually massive inside, I mean tons of seating! The food was excellent especially since this my hometown and I don't expect that much... We weren't well known for excellent dining especially since we are a suburb of Chicagoan's since I worked downtown I got very spoiled with the great places downtown. Our orders were: 2 salads one chopped and one Caesar. For the mains we got a chicken sandwich and filets. I only had the salad since I wasn't that hungry. Everything was very good! The service was fast and friendly. This will be a favorite place for whenever we come visit Mom. Fantastic place!

We came here on a Wednesday after landing at O'Hare. Our waiter was absolutely great. Very attentive and nice. He was helpful with the menu and he made sure we had a great experience. We had the bone-in rib eye (cooked medium rare), the petite filet mignon (cooked medium), the broccoli and lemon vinaigrette, the roasted mushrooms, and the large baked potato. The roasted mushrooms were definitely #1. So good and flavorful! Very well prepared. The broccoli was cold so I think they cooked them too early before bringing them to the table. The baked potato was delicious. The petite filet mignon was good and so was the ribeye. I've had better steak so I think that's why I can't really rave about this one, but for a late meal after a long flight day, it was satisfying. The ambiance at the restaurant was great. I imagine it's the music that was played in The Great Gatsby, so the vibe was great. It felt old world. Cool concept.

Wildfire hosted my grandmother's 90th birthday lunch. They did a wonderful job coordinating the large group of us and immediately getting drinks ordered as people arrived. We had 5 tables in a private room. The waiters were non-stop (in a good way) and had our needs well covered. While there was a set menu, they were very accommodating of allergies and offered alternatives. The shrimp cocktail was generous and fresh. The roasted vegetables and porterhouse were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The tea service and fresh fruit as an allergy friendly dessert option were the perfect way to finish the meal.

Wildfire is our go to for all family occasions, especially birthdays. Their food is fantastic and the steaks, chops and seafood are top notch. The staff is excellent and it has a 1930s speakeasy vibe to it. It's also the best bang for your buck when it comes to Chicago steakhouses.

We three women had a reservation for noon lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant was busy but not packed, and we sat in a booth. We were greeted by three different staff and finally we learned which one was our server, but we are still not sure who the others were. (In the end, one was the busser and we never saw the other two during our meal.). We ordered wine, and one glass came with a chip with a piece of fabric in it. When it was brought to the attention of the staff, he took the glass and, without an apology, he took it away and returned with a new glass. We then spent time chatting until we realized our server was a rare sighting and had to get his attention so we could order our food. As he was telling us the specials and asking questions, he oddly avoided any eye contact with one of us (#2), speaking only to me and one other #3). When #2 had a question, the response was a bit stilted, and we could not understand why. Our meals arrived, and the Chicken Wildorf Salad and the Wildfire Chopped Salad were both very good. They were large enough to take home what could not be eaten. I had the French Onion Soup, which I did not care for; the flavor of the soup was different and there was very little bread in the broth. I also ordered a side Caesar Salad, which was a nice side but had no croutons or anything other than lettuce, dressing, and shredded cheese. This was lacking in all ways. So out of the three of us, we had 2 reasonable meals. With a total bill of $135 before tips, it was very disappointing. Which is odd because Wildfire is known for its quality, which today seems to be in short supply. The accessibility is good, with no barriers from the front door to the ladies' room. However, getting to that restroom requires a walk through the main dining room, and a wheelchair user may have some difficulty getting through the tables and chairs easily. While the tables are appropriate for accessibility, the booths are raised and are not open to those with special mobility needs. Sadly, I was disappointed with the food and the cost. This is not the Wildfire I remember from many visits in the past. During the 1-2 years since I last dined here, things certainly have changed. What a shame.

The house chopped salad was definitely a table favorite. It was full of freshly chopped ingredients. I specifically enjoyed the perfectly ripe avocado and sweet corn kernels. For the entree, I ordered the cedar plank salmon. I liked how the salmon was presented on the cedar plank. The salmon was cooked nicely. Good service and the dining area we were in was perfect for a group presentation.

    Special menu for tonight.

Love that there is ample parking in front I never have an issue. Inside this place takes you back to the roaring 20's with its really beautiful decor. We came on New Year's Eve and had a reservation which we waited about 20 minutes for. For the appetizers we started with the shrimp and crab soup, which was really good but it's not lobster bisque, remember that. We also had the bison meatballs which came in size of six and each were bite sized - they were cooked perfectly and the marinara is excellent. On to the entrees. We had the filet trio cooked medium and they were excellent lot cooked and tasted amazing. For the sides here we had creamed spinach which is the best we've had from any steakhouse and the mashed potatoes (smaller serving than other steakhouses but comes with!). The other entree was a whole slab of ribs - which unfortunately though they were cooked perfectly and came off the bone wonderfully they were over seasoned and too salty. The bbq sauce was dynamite. The coleslaw was good too and the baked potato on the side was good as well. Overall we will be back, but we'll skip the ribs. Oh and we had the chocolate mousse pie with Oreo crust and it was decedent. We also enjoyed that this was a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant and used a gift card towards the purchase.

Not cheap -- but really good. Terrific selection of apps and salads as well as some non-meat entrees...but steaks are the stars. We were pretty straight ahead -- the young men were both all in on ribeyes; my bride had the tuna, and I (surprisingly for me) went with the spicy chicken sandwich. All five stars. Broccoli, Brussels sprouts and potatoes gratin for sides. Plenty of food for four of us (considering two are 20 something men who still can pack in food...). Nice cocktails and wines by the glass; we went simple and traditional, but they have some interesting drinks on their menu, too. And the service. OMG the service. Professional, attentive, friendly... On a weekday evening, as expected, the restaurant was not busy.  We were promptly seated at a 4-top table (2 × 2-top) against the right wall, with some other 2-tops on both sides.  Like many reviewers had mentioned, the venue was beautiful, modern and chic. There were 7 tables occupied, including us.  The music that they had was not too loud, just that customers' conversations were amplified by the box shape open dining area.  If we focused enough, we could hear every conversation if we wanted to.  This was obvious when a table of about 6 women got seated at a table near the front door, some of them laughed and talked very loudly.  My husband and I just found it funny and didn't let that bother us.  However, when the restaurant is filled on busier days, it might be a different story. Our server, Patrick, was very nice and attentive.  Since they did not list drinks on their menu except those with alcohol, I asked him about non-alcoholic drinks.  After a brief "discussion", he asked me to leave it to him to make me a drink with mango.  He came up with a beautiful drink that was good and refreshing, with some mango flavor.  It was Virgin Paloma on our receipt for $8, which was reasonable.  He was very polite and checked in on us several times at appropriate times during our dinner.  The pace of the dinner was good, we spent a total of an hour and 15 minutes in the restaurant. Patrick might be the only waiter serving all the tables that evening, though. I also ordered Grilled Octopus ($22) which was very good, tender and flavorful, but was a little too salty to my taste.  The small pita bread wedges were warm and fluffy with some crispy edges, the beet hummus was creamy, and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.  I generously shared 2 little bites of octopus with my husband and I finished the entire plate, it was so good!  My husband really liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) and I shared a bite of that too.  He also had a House Salad for $6, that was a very good value.  He enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Crossing ($12) too.  We also shared an order of Crème Brulee ($8), that was creamy and cooked perfectly.  We ordered a takeout order of Rigatoni with Sausage ($23), that was a good portion, and was still delicious and al dente the next day after being microwaved. I am so happy that we found Social Inn - a hidden gem in Plaza del Prado, it's not far from home, with comfortable and beautiful ambiance, excellent service (from Patrick), an attractive menu with enticing food (fresh ingredients and appealing plating), and reasonable prices, we will definitely be back!

And since the glass we initially wanted they didn't have this was a great option for us. We weren't able to finish the bottle so the server closed it up and sealed it in a bag for us to take with us. (Tuscan blend which was delicious) We ordered the Lobster Bisque to share to start with. The server/kitchen were kind enough to split it for us into two bowls. Overall the soup was good but NOT great. Then we ordered a bone in Ribeye (22oz) which came with crispy new potatoes and some some sautéed brocollini. We ordered the steak Medium Rare, it came out Medium + and since we were never checked in with on the temperature we ate it anyhow. The flavor was good but definitely far overcooked. The crispy new potatoes were perfectly crispy and the broccolini was sautéed and cooked very well. At the end of the day the service saved our experience. Really nice bar with a few TVs for sporting events -- but I wouldn't' call it a sports bar. Friendly local crowd and attentive bartenders. Menu is an interesting one, with some large and delicious apps. Along the way and through a couple of visits I've enjoyed literally everything I've had there. From the app menu, props for the eggplant stack (unique presentation), the hummus trio, and the octopus -- all of which were solid, all of which were enough to be an entree. The entrees are a range of sandwiches (predictable and good), pastas (loved the mushroom pappardelle), chicken (ok, haven't tried them yet -- can get chicken entrees anywhere!), steaks/chops (the pork chop is excellent as is the skirt steak), and seafood (bravo for the swordfish -- which I don't see around these parts much, and the seafood platter). Service was a little spotty at the tables, but that was at an early visit and perhaps it's been worked out; bar service truly outstanding. Glenview is becoming a more competitive restaurant market with several new entrants (although many of them in the old downtown); hoping this family-owned/operated place succeeds the way it deserves to!.

I believe they only take reservations for parties of 8+, but even at busy times we generally don't wait more than 10-15 minutes once we put our names down. This is a huge restaurant with a large dining space. There is a huge video screen on one wall and they are often playing K-Pop and top 40 music videos, which creates a very cool vibe. We've eaten here a few times, and every time our server asks if it's our first time, which is great as we've had new people with us, and it was our first time once, which offers an opportunity to learn how it works here. The grill is in the center of the table and everything is cooked by yourself at the table. Each person is also given a set of sauce dishes, and then there are some picked veggies for the table as well (these are delicious do not sleep on these). Our absolute favorite here is the Hawaiian bulgogi, which is so tender and a little sweet, full of flavor and we will never leave without getting at least one round of this. We have also tried the regular (beef) bulgogi, the spicy pork bulgogi, pork belly, the brisket, and the iron age steak. There is some need to know things like pork has to be cooked through and beef can be cooked rare, but it's a very easy set up and process the way the meats are cut and how the grill cooks. All of the cuts of meat we've tried have been high quality and seemed fresh. We've also tried some of the side options, including spicy rice cakes, vegetables, and kimchi. The first time we came we also we given some sort of salad for the table, and that was also delicious. I love the grillable vegetables and the kimchi here is super tasty. While it is described as spicy, I did not find it to be so, but very flavorful. White rice is also served in individual bowls to each person at the table. This is an "all you can eat" situation and we found the price to be incredibly affordable (especially compared to other AYCE restaurants). Although we always leave so full and satisfied, I've never felt leaving grossly overstuffed. The food is delicious and high quality and we have really enjoyed each experience here. The staff are moving quickly and this is not a "small talk with your server" type experience as far as we've had. They have been kind, answered all our questions, and work very efficiently. Iron Age has quickly become a date night rotation staple and we can't wait to come back. Thank you, Iron Age!

The building…read morewhich was previously a church is huge and has some very interesting touches, plus there is a lot of outdoor seating overlooking a lake and also O'Hare airport in the distance. Book ahead to be outside though, otherwise you won't get a table there. And know that despite a clientele often including many families it can be a bit loud when busy and tries to be on the hip side with the music getting pumped in from speakers throughout the dining room. Wine list and cocktails are about as good as you'll find by the glass, while food has been pretty good on visits for both brunch and dinner. You can trust the seafood here, and while the crab cake didn't blow me away it was good. This is one place that I trust the crudo and poke bowls which are excellent on the raw fish options, though I wouldn't personally recommend the filet poke bowl which was a salt/umami bomb and on a recent visit there were also some issues with my wife's pork chop which had good flavor but was overcooked (she was okay with that, but if you say it's recommended medium - which I prefer - please serve it closer to medium rather than well done). Desserts are generally good, and a lot of people appear to come here for special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc. where they bring out a free dessert with a large sparkler thing which gets attention but honestly doesn't seem entirely safe to me. Yes, that means I'm getting old but I'm not wrong... Service is excellent, ambience is very nice, and for a high volume kitchen like this they do a pretty good job with excellent ingredients at their disposal. I'll round up from 4.5 stars, in this area it's about as good as you'll find and definitely worth a visit.

It was delicious and had deep flavors coming from the cherry bordelaise. The Chicken Shawarma Rolls were also tasty with an explosion of flavor within each bite. There was nothing that I didn't like, and it was very satisfying.
