Wildfire was our post-shopping lunch destination on a summer Saturday. The mall was BUSY so we made reservations when we started shopping that morning. When we arrived for lunch, it didn't seem too busy but it's better safe than sorry. It's been years since I last went to Wildfire. We were seated right away and our server, Anthony, did a great job explaining the menu and monthly specials. Our meal started with the bread basket which is always a plus. I ordered the chilled lump crap and shrimp salad off the specials. It tasted super fresh and came with a reasonable portion of protein. The overall presentation was a bit sad but I guess there is only so much you can do with a salad. It tasted good and that's what really matters. Service did seem to slow down by the end of our meal though. It took a while to get the check and an even longer while for someone to collect the check. Came on a Thursday night with my family because I was in town. The service was terrible. Our waitress walked past us three times and when we asked the guy who our server was, and he told us, she looked at our table and walked away. She also didn't introduce herself when she approached the table. She stopped at the table next to us which had already been served and they were done eating twice before she approached our table. We waited almost 10 minutes just for water which to me is unacceptable because they were not that busy or crowded The ambiance was okay, average steakhouse vibes nothing impressive in my opinionI Now for the food...which honestly was mediocre. And before you say, I could've gotten something else because this is a steakhouse. I did not want a steak and I came here on the recommendation of my family. Bison meatballs 5/10: the best part of this dish was the tomato sauce but I will say you get a decent portion. The meatballs lacked flavor but the tomato sauce helped Mediterranean chicken skewers 8/10: the chicken wasn't dry, but it lack flavor. The sauce was really good, but portion size is minimal. Angus burger 7/10: burger was cooked as requested and had decent flavor. The fries were also good. Chicken club 5/10: changed the cheese to Gouda and added red onions to the burger. The chicken was flavorless and a little dry the mayo mustard sauce really helps. The fries are really good and they have a nice barbecue sauce if you like fries with barbecue sauce. Pineapple margarita 7.5/10: didn't care for the salt on the rim but this didn't lack flavor and had decent amount of liquor. Martini flight 10/10: mango and apple are the best flavors but they're all pretty good. Nice to get if you want different martini flavors. Overall, I don't think I'd come back to this establishment. Always have a reservation on hand here. Wildfire Oak Brook is always busy! Coming and checking in is easy. There's so much room and the restaurant is quite lively. Our service was well paced and we had a wonderful server. We started out with drinks and went ahead to order. Their salads are very much so made to share. They have sides but the value for sharing is better. Any entree ordered comes with a side, which is great. I get very tired of these à la carte style menus at these prices. We shred a Greek Salad small, enough for two-three people. I also ordered the Romanian Skirt Steak and a side of Cottage Fries. The steaks are always cooked to my liking and have plenty of juice. The onions at a great sweetness and is delicious. The cottage fries are great, and the ranch accompanied with it is delicious. It's a bit salty, I do think Wildfire is heavy handed on the salt. They packed our food in containers, which is great. At a restaurant like this, I expect it to be packed for me, especially when I have juicy meals. Father's Day @ 5:15. We had reservations, and were seated right on time. Michelle, our server greeted us promptly, and provided truly amazing service throughout the course of the meal. I had the half slab of BBQ ribs, and hubby had the Roumanian skirt steak. Both were delicious. I added a baked potato to my order ($1.95 upcharge). On the final day of the conference workshop at Oak Brook my colleagues and I were able to have lunch brought by Wildfire and I thought this was an excellent way to end off the week! The catering setup included sandwiches that allowed each attendee to quickly get their food and enjoy during the completion of the remaining session. I ultimately ended up going with the Turkey Sandwich with Cheese, Lettuce & Avocado and found that it was very good. Each ingredient in the sandwich tasted like they had been freshly prepared, and the combination of the flavors from the turkey and avocado were perfect to provide a nice taste contrast for the sandwich! It was delicious! The sandwich included chips and a chocolate chip cookie as an additional portion of each meal. The cookie was a great add on and wonderful treat with the lunch. It added the final touch of sweetness to end the meal on a Friday! Wildfire's catering was fantastic. They offered a very good, quality sandwiches. All items were prepared in each individual box or a separate bag for the catering order! Afternoon lunch around the beginning of the year. This place was pretty busy for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Our reservation allowed us to be seated promptly. I've been here a few times, but I was unaware there were dining rooms. We were seated in one of the dining rooms, in a booth, near the window. An ideal seating choice. Our waitress was friendly, while offering suggestions and answering questions. The Food: Appetizer: Calamari. Entrees: Porterhouse, medium well, Planked Salmon with mashed potatoes for the sides. All the food was excellent. The steak and salmon were prepared perfectly. Came here for lunch during a shopping trip with my daughter. It was pretty busy as I would expect for lunchtime here but they had seating available and the staff was very quick and attentive. I had the filet medallions super delicious dirty martini made just right. My daughter had a burger which she loved and she also had the fried calamari which was super crispy and tasty. We came here for a group dinner and were really impressed with both the food and the service. The staff were fast, efficient, clean, quiet, and super helpful everything ran so smoothly. Had a girls holiday dinner here. They have a separate GF menu. The service was good in the beginning but she had a lot of tables and didn't come back for quite awhile at the end. We ordered drinks and I started with the GF French onion soup. The crostini was a bit hard for my liking but the soup itself was good. For my entree I ordered a GF salad and au gratin potatoes. All of our food came out but I didn't receive my side. Our server came around towards the end and I asked for if my side was still coming. Hey Yelpers, today the wifey and I slid to Wildlife Oak Brook. My wife has been dying to come here. We got there in the afternoon about a half hour after they opened. I liked the look of the restaurant nice steakhouse vibes. We ordered the Calamari to start. It was prepared properly! Nice crunch and very tender. Seasoned nicely and tasted fresh. Calamari is a basic appetizer that shouldn't be difficult and the nailed it. 7.5/10 My wife had the lemon pepper chicken breast. It had a nice char on it and it was very flavorful and tender! She had the BBQ rubbed sweet potato for her side and that sweet spud was delicious! Nice sweetness from the brown sugar and cinnamon also very flavorful She enjoyed it. 8/10 for the meal. Now for my food. I got the BBQ rib/chicken combo with fries. Although the chicken was pretty good it wasn't grilled. It had a cooked in the oven taste it. Not bad but I wouldn't get it again. The ribs were DEFINITELY oven prepared. And they were tender but not the flavor I was looking for. I didn't enjoy them. That was my fault for ordering BBQ instead of a steak. Tonight our family celebrated my husband and I's wedding anniversary. We did the same last year as well. We ordered a variety of items on the menu and the star of the note was the pork chops. We also had the skirt steak, prime rib sandwhich and the whole branzino. We were also gifted with a flourless chocolate cake to celebrate our anniversary. I recently visited Wildfire in Oakbrook for lunch with my sorority sisters to celebrate two birthdays. While we ultimately had a good time--thanks to great company--the overall dining experience was disappointing. As a Let Us Entertain You member, I was especially surprised to see what feels like a decline in the restaurant's quality. I initially ordered the lemon chicken breast, which has always been a flavorful and juicy dish in the past. Unfortunately, this time it was dry and lacked flavor, so I sent it back. I then tried the cedar plank salmon as a replacement, expecting a better experience. However, it also fell short--there was very little of the sweet and savory brown sugar soy glaze that typically makes the dish stand out, leaving it bland and underwhelming. After two attempts, I was unsatisfied with my meal. Despite paying for lunch and tipping my server well, I left still hungry, which is especially frustrating given the cost of dining out in today's economy. I hope this was an off day, but based on this experience, there's definitely room for improvement in both food quality and consistency. read more

A group of eight of us celebrated a friend's birthday on a Tuesday evening. All was fine until the food came...or didn't come as in my case. My plate was ordered incorrectly, so I waited through at least half of the dinner was finished by others before my replacement arrived. I had been left with my side of sweet potato that I had been picking at while engrossed in conversation when I eventually noticed on closer inspection that I had been eating a spoiled and visually, moldy potato. Though I typically don't give much weight to presentation at this level of dining, the main course's bla presentation gave me the impression that they don't really care. While I gracefully accepted apologies and didn't make any other negative overtures, the final bill arrived without any adjustments. That was surprising and further solidified my impression that Wildfire is averse to caring. We had asked for clarification of who benefits from the service charge and were told it goes to the corporation, not to the restaurant and not to the workers. Not happening no matter who it went to and it was promptly removed. IMO, it's rather pathetic to be so protective over the financial bottom line of holding onto all the pennies, especially with what went down. I'd eaten here before, but today was my last. I had a business lunch at Wildfire. I went in without high expectations; after all - it is in a mall. Yet... it was a great place for a business lunch. What I liked about the place is very attentive service and some relatively unique offerings. For lunch, there was an option for 2 3-ounce filet mignon steaks - which made for a good size and each provided a different spread on top for a different taste. The steaks we got were amazing, as were the cottage potatoes and the au gratin. The Caesar salad was tasty, but what you can to finish it there as it doesn't travel as well as you would hope or at least as well as I had hoped. They have Coke products, not Pepsi and the bar seems to be pretty well stocked although I must say when I went, I was served a gin and tonic with a lime that looked like it had must've been cut during the Reagan administration. When we mentioned the issue to our server she took care of it right away. And save room for dessert! I've been to this Wildfire on many occasions and they've been pretty consistent over the years. I always and mean always get their cedar planked salmon, which is glazed in a sweet sauce and their red skinned mash potatoes, for some reason this time around things were off. When my food came out, my mash potatoes were cold. I had to send them back. Not sure why because it wasn't crowded so food should be easily made to order and not sitting waiting to be re-heated. My salmon was Ok, but the flavor just wasn't what I've had in the past and the martini I absolutely think is one of the best flavors I've tasted was super weak. Everything that crossed my lips was delicious. It was Friday evening around 7:00 pm and they were busy but service was moving like a well oiled machine. We had the 20 oz ribeye, French onion soup, Cesar salad, gigantic twice baked potato, fresh soft pillowy onion rolls and an amazing drink called the Sweet Heat Rita. The ribeye was tender, juicy and succulent but it had an excellent char. I was impressed with Colleen our wait staff she fussed over us and made us feel like royalty. I'll start off by saying, I'm really surprised at the number of low reviews. I was expecting the restaurant to have 4+ stars. My experience was great, but this was with the private catering service. I celebrated my mother's 70th birthday surprise party. I started the planning in late December. The event planners were great. My party had 23 guests and we used the Savoy room. The event planners answered all of my questions, and I had plenty. As questions came up, I was able to message them and I would receive an answer almost immediately, and on the weekends, I only had to wait 30 mins to an hour tops! With the event planning service, they had a portal where the documents, contracts, payment deposit, and online discussion were maintained. This helped streamline a lot of the tasks. The event was on a Sunday in April at 11am - 3pm. I knew how crazy parking can be at Oakbrook Center Mall, so I got there at 10:15, and I informed all my guests to promptly arrive at 11am; plus they needed to get there before my mom. :-) For all the late arrivals, they had to deal with the parking issues, but that was on them, not me. LOL! Also a lot of the guests were seniors with previous knee, hip and back surgeries - so I informed them not to park where the restaurants are, but behind the Neiman Marcus. Otherwise, they would have to climb a lot of stairs! That was the best accessible option. I wish there was an elevator available through the Beatrix restaurant; but oh well! When I arrived early, I was able to add my decorations and wait for my guests and mom to arrive. The host was fabulous - super duper attentive, and also provided options for those guests who had food allergies. Since I was in charge of the food planning, everything was delicious. We had Grilled Pepperoni Flatbread, Mediterranean Chicken Skewers, Spit-Roasted Herb Chicken, Barbecued Baby Back Ribs, Cedar-Planked Salmon, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Market Vegetables. All of that for $36.95 per person (price at the time of my contract) with a minimum of $800 wasn't bad at all!! Everyone had a great time and experience, and my mom was super surprised. This was such an underrated lunch. I came by on a Wednesday right before a meeting for a quick bite. It was busy but I guess that should've been a sign of how good their lunch menu was. As soon as I sat down, they offered their onion bread and when we annihilated it, they offered to more. I ended up going for the French dip prime rib sandwich. Nothing too heavy and something that was quick and easy. It took longer than anticipated but it was definitely worth the wait! The brioche bread really makes the sandwich. We went to Wildfire for Sunday lunch during Restaurant Week in January 2026. The restaurant featured a pre fixe lunch menu with starter and main course for $30. The environment was friendly and inviting and we struck up a conversation with other dinners easily. First our waiter Kesha was a star, friendly and attentive. Our table started with the Bison Meatball appetizer (not on the pre fixe menu so an additional $15, we also added a side of freshly made cornbread at $9). I went with the Shrimp & Crab Bisque for my pre fixe starter, which I found excellent. Others had the Spinach Salad and Ceasar Salad. My main was the Bison burger Deluxe,  an excellent choice; it was tender and flavorful,  they did have an aioli on the bun but just enough to create a barrier from the bun becoming soggy from the juicy burger. My husband went with the Grilled Faroe Island Salmon which he informed me was a special treat and not available everywhere. My friend had the Blackened Swordfish Sandwich. Another tasty choice.  We end up with some chocolate cake and ice cream. read more

Having thought the restaurant week menu looked great for the price, I gave this place a shot. The restaurant was super busy and loud, but luckily, we were seated on the side dining area, which was manageable. French onion rolls are served to the table first. These were actually pretty favorable and had a nice texture. The only thing that could have been better is that they were heated. The first dish I received was a Ceasar salad. The dressing is made in-house, which is a plus for any restaurant that does this. The only thing that could have been better is if more of the dressing was used to coat the salad. It left me wanting more flavor overall. I chose the parmesan encrusted New York strip and sweet potato for my main dish. While the sweet potato was great, the steak was not. I did order it medium well, but what I received was more like charcoal in appearance. I don't normally like to complain about food, but after eating a few bites, I couldn't go any further. I was convinced to say something and showed the waiter how black the steak was. From here, the experience went downhill. The waiter looked at it, looked confused, and said "well you did order medium well." He did take it from me, but it seemed to be reluctantly. It was a manager, I believe, who brought out the newly made steak. However, he also brought out a whole new sweet potato as well, which was never the problem. The manager seemed angry, placed the steak in front of me, and proceeded to basically demand I cut it in front of him. I said, "It already looks better, so I'm sure it's fine." He still demanded that I cut it and stood over me condescendingly until I did. This was very unprofessional and unpleasant for any dining experience. I also got the key lime pie for dessert. It had a nice crust and strong lime flavor. Texture was as expected, and there was nothing wrong with this dish. It was also my birthday dinner and I got a chocolate brownie, I think. The texture was mouse like, but it looked like a brownie. Either way, it was a lot too sweet for my liking, but I appreciated it nonetheless. I appreciated that they wanted to correct the steak, but I can and won't accept being treated like a child or like I was lying. They saw the steak, and I had pictures that showed the difference. The second steak was great, and I wish it was the first one I received. This place would have got a much better rating from me if this didn't happen this way. read more

The restaurant is located on the second floor of the restaurants in the Oakbrook mall. Parking can get difficult especially during dinner time. On Friday night, there were many parties waiting. We made reservations before we headed over and were seated without a wait. The restaurant is a bit dark and loud. It's very casual and most people are in jeans. It's quite big inside with lots of seating available. The tables are also placed a bit too close to each other. We had to try their $59 restaurant week deal, which included a soup or salad, entree, and dessert. They served bread and butter, which I wished was warm. I chose the shrimp and crab bisque to start and it was great. It had good flavor and lots of minced vegetables, shrimp, and crab in it. For entree, I had to try their 16oz prime rib of beef. I was very disappointed by the small amount of au jus that it was served with. The prime rib was perfectly medium rare, but lacked flavor. I appreciated that there wasn't too much fat and the side of market vegetables was good. Considering the regular price of their prime rib, the restaurant week deal was worth it. For dessert, I had their seasonal chocolate creme pie. I agree with a previous reviewer that this a mid-tier steakhouse. Overall mid service and quality. Wildfire Oakbrook is located in the upper level of the Oak Brook mall center. Parking can be tough however they do offer vallet. I was here with a group of 5 for dinner and we were seated once 50% of our party was there. Thankfully 3 of us got there around the same time and were seated right away. We were seated in a smaller room around the corner of the bathrooms. The atmosphere is kind of a combo of old school Italian and speak easy. Wood/brown decor throughout and diminish lighting. They also had Christmas lights up which was a nice touch for the holiday season. Our server was kind, friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. Our drinks were always full and our food was timed out well. I'm not a steak snob by any means but I trust my palette and loooove the filet mignon from here. It was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender, flavorful and oh so yummy! I had mashed potatoes and lemon broccoli for my sides and left with a very satisfied and maybe ate too much stomach, haha. Sadly this Saturday visit was disappointing. An hour long wait should have been our first clue to go somewhere else. After an hour when I didn't get the text we came back to make sure we didn't miss a text. They admitted they didn't send the text but still needed more time to clear off tables. We were seated and the waitress was fast with drinks and taking orders. After that was the downfall. Food took much longer than expected. We had to ask for refill on bread and drinks. New York stop was so salty! The Bone in Rib eyes were lacking any-type of flavor and they were so tough. The only dish that was good was the Atlantic Cod. It was recommended and very good. We didn't complain at the time because our waitress wasn't seen until we asked for the check. The busboy (man) asked if we needed to go boxes. He came by much more than our waitress.
