It is definitely over hyped ! It is not as good as they say.. I ordered the NY steak, asparagus and the white cheddar mash. Asked for the steak medium rare it was over cooked, Asparagus was not cooked and the potatoes were good ! But when you spend 47$ on your steak meal the steak should have been priority. My husband got the waygu burger asked for medium rare and it was burnt on the outside and over cooked on the inside.. We did order drinks at the bar since our wait was 2 HOURS ! We stayed by choice LOL ! But had we known how the food was we might of just had drinks. Our server was amazing ! He was very sorry even though we know it wasn't his fault! My wife and I decided to take the kids to try somewhere new. We settled on Wildfire Public House. With reservations, we still waited an additional 30 minutes and got to the table, only to find it still dirty. They made us wait an additional 5 minutes. I got the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and broccolini. My mashed potatoes were from a box not homemade I can tell the difference it had a grainy taste to them. My daughter got the Mediterranean wrap but we had to send it back because we found a hair in it they were polite and brought her something different but it would've been nice if management offered to comp that meal off the bill. In closing for the price of the food the long wait time for everything we are most likely not heading back. read more

This place came as a recommendation and I was very impressed! My group got the Bruschetta as an appetizer and then the BBQ Chicken pizza as the main. I love a perfectly toasted piece of bread and the bruschetta was exactly that! I also loved the amount of toppings they had. I would have preferred less balsamic because there was a lot. The pizza was thick and big! It was exactly what you would think from a BBQ Chicken pizza and I loved the hot honey touch! If you're looking for comfort food and a full bar in an upscale, classy, environment, look no further because "Wildfire Public House" has you covered. This is arguably one of the most popular restaurants in the Modesto area and with well over 1,200 Yelp reviews (as of June 2023), it's no wonder that this place has been a fan favorite ever since it opened back in the summer of 2019 (replacing where "Uno" once stood for many years). Since I spent a good portion of the day sightseeing around the Modesto area, I built up quite the appetite for what I was hoping would be a fantastic dinner to end my Saturday evening. I ended up booking my reservations through the Yelp app which were quick and painless. Located directly on Oakdale Rd. and adjacent to to E. Briggsmore Ave., this place was relatively easy to find. The parking itself was not at all of an issue as this larger-than-life building has its own dedicated parking lot. The exterior itself had a very modern, sleek design to it with a neutral slate-gray color that looked impressive. Much of the outside lighting did not make its way inside the building. But the interior of this place is the real winner. I've been to my share of restaurants over the years. Hundreds upon hundreds of restaurants where I look into the designs, aesthetics, lighting, and ambiance. This place is beautifully decorated on all levels. You will find a full bar (beer, wine, & spirits) with TV's in every direction. There are also cozy, intimate booths, big gathering tables for large groups of people, and towards the rear of the restaurant, a fireplace that is visible from many tables. The bright red/blue lighting complete with the high ceilings, modern wooden flooring, and overall atmosphere made this place appear as upscale as possible. After being seated, my +1 and I were given several menus; a standard food menu, a cocktail menu, and a rotating crafts on tap menu. I loved how this restaurant utilized this instead of using your phone in having to scan the QR code (which makes it difficult to read/navigate). Our server, Jayton was also managing the bar area and took care of us from when we got our drinks until we paid and left. And to those Yelp fans out there, just for checking into this business on the Yelp app, you receive a complimentary giant "Wildfire Pretzel" (a $16 value) which was served with a side of warm velvet cheese sauce. We took full advantage of that as our pretzel came out within minutes. It was huge, warm, salty, and delicious. As for the drinks, my +1 ordered a refreshing glass of their Mint Mojito. However, I took full advantage of their tasting flights which was a bargain at $9 for a set of four. And best of all, you are allowed to choose ANY beer on their rotating craft menu. I went with the following four: - "Blaker Honey Babies" blonde ale, 4.5% ABV (Ceres, CA) - "Shadow Puppet Double Lush Nectar", 8.7% ABV (Livermore, CA) - "Mother Earth Cali' Creamin", 5.0% ABV (Vista, CA) - "Trumer Trumer Pils", 4.9% ABV (Berkeley, CA) Now onto the food.. My +1 ordered their "Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich" ($18.00) which consisted of hand breaded breast chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions on a sriracha aioli with a side of French Fries. I went with their "Chicken Piccata" ($26.00) which consisted of pan seared chicken breast, lemon, capers, and white wine cream sauce served over cheddar mashed potatoes and green beans. Both of our entrées arrived within 15 minutes as our server, Jayton always made sure our waters were filled up and that our experience was an exceptional one. As far as my chicken piccata, everything was made to perfection. The sautéed boneless chicken had the right amount of tenderness while dipping it in the white wine cream sauce. The potatoes were creamy while the green beans were also very tasty. Even my +1 enjoyed the chicken sandwich. All in all, "Wildfire Public House" absolutely exceeded my expectations. The environment, ambiance, above average service, and overall experience made this one that I will remember for quite some time. With that said and done, I am giving them a unanimous five-star rating. read more
