The salad was good, but the portion size was kind of small. I also added grilled chicken, also very good. The only thing that took me back was the price to add chicken was the same price as the whole salad. Didn't understand that. 4/5 for the salad but not worth the price. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where we have the most diverse best foods. I could literally still see the water in my rice. It's as soft as I would say. Oatmeal, and has zero flavor. I would like to say that I would be coming back to this restaurant but I'm not so sure. Today we had dinner and an appetizer of bruschetta. I really enjoyed the bruschetta, so much I did not even get a chance to take a picture. Next was the entrees of Balsamic Salmon and Chicken Piccata. The salmon was perfectly cooked, but strangely was garnished with cracked black pepper, making it spicy. We asked for a replacement without the course pepper, and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Sautéed veggie were nice and tender. The chicken piccata was ample and came with a good amount of sauce. Mine also had the course black pepper garnish, but I like pepper so I stayed with my order. The mash potatoes were creamy and paired nicely with the medallions of chicken breast. Green beans were al dente and hot. Our server was on top of our needs, and ensured we had a great dining experience, the manager came by to ensure our happiness was obtained. There were tons of open seats in the dining area but-we were told 20 minutes--obviously they do not have enough help as the sit-down seating area was almost empty. 20 min wait didn't work for us but we had already driven 20+ minutes out of our way (on the way from Sacramento to Bakersfield). Luckily we found the last 2 seats at the bar. The female bartender was amazing--doing the work of 3 people; trying to organize the few employees she had and keeping a smile on all the time. Service took a long time. Food coming out took a long time. We split a ban mi sando--superb in every way. My clam chowder was salty, clams so chewy they were almost inedible; wife's arugula salad was excellent.
