I like Wildflower a lot. I've been here three times this year. However it's hard for me to critique the menu as a whole since I order the same thing every time because I love it so much. The shredded chicken Asian salad is so good I just go to get that. Every time I have gone the waitstaff is attentive but not obtrusive and very knowledgeable on the menu. The bread and olive oil is a must and the deserts are awesome. Only drawback is the acoustics. Once it gets busy it's difficult to have a conversation. read more

I relocated from CA to Tucson a few months ago. Having lived in Northern and Southern California with several decades of the finest dining experiences from SF and LA, My expectations weren't very high. WildFlower has quickly become one of my favorite dining experiences. The menu choices are not only original, and creative; the food is delicious, and visually enticing. Admittedly, I rarely go out for a treat-yourself kind of night. After reviewing several places, I became interested in Wildflower because of its menu, location, and positive reviews. After ordering our respective drinks, we were met with a large piece of bread to dip in a herb-garlic oil. I felt that the bread-oil ration was incredibly disproportionate, as we quickly ran out of oil. Small argument, it just would have been nice if this was anticipated. We gladly accepted another plate of both bread and oil when asked. APPETIZER My date and I started with the Black Mussels appetizer. The mixture of seafood and chorizo became pretty addicting and the quantity was a pretty fair amount. We each probably had around 10 or so mussels and my date was very focused on soaking up the remaining chorizo-soup with his leftover bread. The spice of the chorizo and saltiness of mussels made for a great pairing in this dish. ENTREE For our entrees we picked the paella and the short-rib ravioli. I've never really had paella before, so I snacked off of my date's dish. The baked scallops in it was pure gold. I couldn't get enough of it. The rest of the dish was wonderful, but my mind was much more focused on the short-rib plate placed in front of me. Ravioli is not a very fancy dish, admittedly, but the sweet, tender, short rib placed inside this dish topped with a creamy sauce was everything I wanted. Upon receiving our dishes, we were somewhat disappointed by portion size, however it ended up being more than enough for the both of us. DESSERT But we weren't done. It was my date's birthday, so we asked about any birthday dessert specials. They comped us our dessert: the cinnamon donuts. There ended up being so much more on the plate and we were left defeated in the shadow of our ever-growing meal. The donuts were made fresh and gave easily to a fork. We dipped this in the small container full of a yogurt-raspberry jam kind of thing and it was mouthwatering delicious. SERVICE And I've only talked about the food. They had blocked off the patio from the cold and had a pretty intricate layout of heaters to accommodate the demand for their business. We were lucky to get a table inside and very much enjoyed the intimate lighting inside. The waitstaff is nothing short of impressive. My sympathies to the dishwasher, as our little table of 2 went through (due to constant maintenance from our waitress) two bread plates and bowls of oil, two bowls for the mussel shells, the mussel plate and side plates we both used, our entree plates, and our dessert plates. Our waitress changed out our silverware three times too. That poor dishwasher is a busy man. Our water and wine was quickly refilled, often without our noticing. I've never even seen a waiter clean the table while we were still seated, but she quickly took notice of the bread crumbs that carelessly flew in our hunger and took care of it. We were beside a very large party of at least 12 people and noticed that the staff almost immediately bused the tables and had it clean within 5 minutes. Impressive and efficient. OVERALL OPINION Loved our experience and the food. Staff was incredibly attentive and productive. Food was delicious. A bit too pricey for me to be able to go on any regular frequency, but I will be back with others and will boast about our experience here. read more

Dined last night at the Wildflower. 7 of us spent 2 1/2 hours over an amazing meal! Beautiful, tasty appetizers, wonderful short rib ravioli; perfect Spanish paelia; succulent bacon wrapped pork tenderloin; scallops that melted in your mouth. And then of course DESSERT...... Bars of Sin (a chocolate lovers fantasy) Cinnamon doughnuts with a vanilla custard (NOTHING ordinary with this selection) Cappuccino and coffee all around. Service was exceptionally. Resturant was busy but the servers we observed were attentive but not in your lap. We WILL be back! read more

We used to be lunch regulars for several years. We have never had a bad meal and love this place. It had been months since we had eaten here so we decided to take my parents out this evening for dinner. We thought we would start making it a regular date night but after tonight, we don't think so. First, the food is still very good as well as the service. The #1 reason we won't return is the change in seating. They have moved a line of tables right up against the booths. It was extremely claustrophobic. There is literally no wiggle room between the booths and tables. The severs and customers had to turn sideways and squeeze through each time. It was constant bumping into the chairs. Constant bodies rubbing against the back of us. Plus, you couldn't hear conversation at your own table as the people in the booths are right in your ear. The people in the booths were also commenting on it as we have to move chairs to let them in and out. Very uncomfortable and could not enjoy dinner. Looking around the room, it is clear it could be easily rearranged. The dinner isn't worth the anxiety and constant interruptions. If there was an emergency and people need to evacuate quickly, there are going to be serious issues. 3 other minor irritations...my mom ordered the Greek salad for $8 and it was the size of a side salad. She said it was very good but the size was incredibly small. A dinner salad should be the size of one easily obtained at Beyond Bread? Skip the salad if you are hungry. #2...I ordered the shrimp and avocado dish. Delicious but be forewarned you only get 3 pieces of shrimp. Last irritation, it's 50 degrees tonight yet the young hostess is dressed very inappropriately in a romper that is no bigger than a negligee. Any slight bend and we were all looking at her underwear and cheeks hanging out. Now I'm sure the male employees love this but when her almost naked rear end is 3" from our plates, it's not so cool. It is NO exaggeration. We literally saw her rear end and panties constantly. Several tables were staring and commenting. It made me embarrassed for her. I'm not sure how the on duty manager thinks this is appropriate for dinner service. She's a pretty girl but this is better left to a night club. read more

Okay, this restaurant probably doesn't deserve this review based on it's well presented and creative fare/chefs and fabulous employees. But I've had it! I've been to Wildflower many, many times and it's the same problem, over and over and over again! IT'S TOO LOUD! Yes, I'm shouting because my dinner partners who are sitting within two feet of me can't hear a word I'm saying. Neither could we hear the hostesses, (who were trying to explain why our dinner reservation request for the patio couldn't be accommodated) or the waiter (who was telling us about the specials). The waiter was very kind to comp us 2 desserts due to the fact that the patio was unavailable as well as the noise issue. I can't believe that this space can't be redesigned to allow for a better atmosphere. Hint, change the ceiling or add draping to it. BTW they won't guarantee space on the patio when you make your reservation (it's slightly less noisy). Don't know why most other restaurants are able to do that. And if you think Wildflower is loud, just try Culinary Dropout! Must be a Fox thing...get new interior designers. read more

In my eyes, there is no experience quite like dining at Wildflower. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. The food is amazingly delicious. It's very clear that a lot of thought goes into what makes it on the menu, and what doesn't. Everything that I ate was impeccable, from the appetizers to the dessert. Our server listened to what I enjoy in a wine and then used her knowledge to help make a decision. She did a fantastic job, the wine, like everything else, was phenomenal. Friends wanted to go to Wildflower for dinner. We ordered the half chicken. It was service raw and returned. They then service chicken so overcooked that it was a rubber chicken. House salad was bland and small. Fried shrimp and vegetables were tasteless. Other main courses were average. To compensate for the chicken, the manager considerately gave us free dissert, donuts and toppings. The donuts did not even remotely taste like donuts, just dough. I think that the restaurant is relatively pricey for Tucson and is very pretentious. Not worth the money. read more

Midpoint from SaddleBrooke and Downtown on Ina road is Wildflowers and simply a lady who Brunch type of fair. The server a very inviting person gave her option of what we might want and appetizers where right on her high marks . There tuna with avocado very southwest spicy pricy . Drinks where very country club strong and the free bread was like more please. The staff young and the chef de cuisine was not around when I wanted to talk to him . Ok guys my fish and chips where really fish and French fries like IKEA I mentioned to the server and seemed to not understand a chip is a wedge fat fry not open bag fry. We had the most amazing meal here last weekend. The edamame potstickers were amazing and in a most delicious sauce. The chicken and mashed potatoes were cooked perfectly and was probably the best chicken dinner we ever had! The scallops were wonderful as well and were tender and full of flavor. This is one my fave place for meeting with coworkers and special family get togethers and dates. The service was amazing, just as always though, they are busy; so it's not a big deal when you have to wait for your cup to be refilled. However, the food though was amazing. Very rich and filling if you eat it slow and enjoy it. I would definitely be going back soon to taste their fish dishes next and also eat their fresh baked bread. read more

Stayed at the Hilton for 5 days and tried different restaurants in the area. Food was excellent as was the service. Only down fall is very noisy and you are packed in like sardines to accommodate as many as possible. If you want an intimate evening, this is not the place for you. read more

Our server was Alyssa and she was amazing. Impeccable menu knowledge as well as wine knowledge. She recommended the Long Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon which commented our meals perfectly. The scallops cooked to a perfect medium with a side of forbidden rice as well as wilted spinach and arugula. The dessert special was amazing and truly one of a kind hitting all possible textures. While in town for our daughters college graduation we had lunch here. We had reservations party of 7 outdoor seating. The outside area was shady with misters. Their menu satisfied everyone in our party. All plates were proportioned nicely for lunch. Our server was on top of our needs and delivered all drinks and plates exactly how we requested them. Went in on a Sunday (good thing we had a reservation because they were very busy.) Got sat immediately by a very friendly hostess that was dressed well. The table we we were sat at was rather small (my boyfriend is 6ft 7) but it was still a nice table. We ordered the artichoke to start...very good...amazing dipping aoili. Next, we both got salads. Mine being the farmers market salad, very interesting mix of items. My boyfriend got the ceasar..beautiful presentation on both. Our waiter was very professional and proficient. Brought everything in a timely manner. I had the crispy chicken and want too impressed, a bit overpriced for the portion. My boyfriend got the pork loin which he says was the best he had ever had. Last night we met a man Alan had gone to high school in Sioux City w/ and his wife for dinner here. We sat in the enclosed covered front patio which was kept warm by heaters. You enter the space via a cement ramp from the sidewalk. It almost feels like crossing a moat. They were already seated when we arrived and F. recognized Alan despite not having seen him for more than 50 years. That was pretty cool. We looked over the menu and decided to split a farmers market salad. It contained roasted squash, brussels sprouts, baby beets, quinoa, goat cheese and marcona almond. It arrived split and was just as delicious as it sounds. I ordered one of their cocktails, the Lavender Bees Knees, consisting of Tanqueray gin, local honey and lavender bitters. It was well balanced, the honey evident, but not too sweet. Very good drink. For mains, Alan ordered ling cod fish and chips and I ordered crisp skin chicken, citrus braised thighs, crimini mushroom and smashed potato while F. ordered trout plus a salad to start and H. ordered a farmers market salad. We had a plate of crusty slices of bread accompanied by delicious, fruity olive oil. Alan was very pleased w/ his fish and chips and my chicken was very tasty. My fiance and i went here for a celebratory dinner and had such a great time. Lizzie was our server and everyone here went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel really special. I love the atmosphere in here and it's always so comfortable, yet upscale. I love a good chefs board and they do not disappoint. It was generous and wonderful. We also split the butterleaf salad which was so yummy. The dressing really made the salad. It's creamy basil heaven. We asked lizzie what we should have for dinner because they had recently spiced up the menu and she said the pappardelle was everyones favorite and so was the paella. Two excellent choices. For drinks, i had an artisan olive martini which was good, but not what i expected. They make their own "dirty mix" but it was good. For dessert we split a bottle of Moet. We haven't been able to stop talking about what a great night we had. At the end of the meal, the manager came over to congratulate us too! We will definitely be back. Was a little disappointed. I called them a week or two in advance and let them know it was my birthday. Seated outside as requested. Our server Jeremy forgot a lot of things. He didn't fill water. Forgot what we had asked for said he would bring bread and more water and that never happened. The bill was all on one instead of split like we had asked for. The food was ok but slightly cold. I got NOTHING for my birthday. My friends reminded Jeremy numerous times for something for my birthday. We got a dessert menu. Not the best birthday ! read more

The patio seating is a great atmosphere with a gorgeous view of the Catalina Mountains. The food was amazing! On our most recent visit, I tried the Short Rib Ravioli. The meat was well flavored. The ravioli had a nice texture, and the cream sauce tied everything together beautifully. The service was attentive and friendly.
