After hearing one too many horror stories about malfunctioning dryers ending in fires (yikes) I realized I should probably get our dryer vents cleaned. We hadn't had them cleaned in the 3 years we've lived in the house & no clue what the previous owners did (although Jan confirmed during his visit that it's unlikely that they had them cleaned). A quick Yelp search confirmed Wildman Jan was my man. I called him and arranged for a visit for that week. He showed up exactly on time, an anomaly in the home services world, & got to work cleaning the vents in both our laundry rooms. Jan definitely knows his business and even provided a bunch of helpful tips for getting the most out of my washer & dryer (& staying safe). 3 hours and $200+ later our dryer vents are clean and good for a few years. A few years from now i plan to place another call to the Wildman for our now bi-annual dryer cleaning. read more

Initially, we contacted Jan to clean out the dryer venting because you never know what the previous owners did, or how often they cleaned and so forth. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that the previous owners had a busted vent piece IN the wall. So, when Jan went to clean the venting - he could get his cleaning brushes all the way down but had no suction for cleaning. (that sucked, ba dum ching) After coming back a few days later, he came prepared with all of the necessary supplies and went to work. He's a very friendly, informative fellow. He works hard and doesn't take advantage of people and the situation they may find themselves in. Jan was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him for anyone to have their dryer vents cleaned. You never know what expected/unexpected issues you may encounter! For us, we were expecting to have a regular cleaning and it turned out to be much more. I'm very glad we called him. As for what he did for us in our new place: -Cleaned the dryer vent in the dryer. -Cleaned the dryer venting from the back of the dryer to the vent outside. -Replaced a broken flapper on the outside of the house. -Replaced/repaired the broken venting inside the drywall. -Installed a dryer box to allow the dryer to sit further back while allowing for proper ventilation. -Cleaned out the lint accumulation formed inside the wall due to the broken venting. -Thoroughly explained everything he needed/wanted to do in order to make the dryer work properly. read more

Far exceed my expectations and highly recommended. Jan is great. He explained everything he was doing, and everything he found and why. Unlike most "dryer vent cleanings" he actually cleans out the entire dryer vent line and opens up the entire dryer it self and cleans out all the built up lint inside it and makes sure the unit is in good shape. It is clear that he is an expert is all aspects of the dryer and dryer vent process. I asked him to take a look at my fridge as well to make sure it was clean since we have a dog and just like the dryer vent it was full of dust and dog hair. For $25 extra he cleaned up the condenser to look like new. Dont hire the $50 special dryer cent cleaners off the deal of the day websites, they will just scam you and try to upsell unneeded services. My wife called a few places to get quotes to have our dryer vent cleaned and Jan gave a good price and was avilable the same day in the afternoon. He catered to our work schedules and arrived promptly at 4:30 as my wife had scheduled. Jan was knowledgeable about our new washer and dryer and provided us information how to take better care of them so they last longer. He was very professional and courteous in discovering the source of the issue which was not straight forward. Once he found the correct outdoor vent (there are many on the outside of our condo building), he quickly identified our issue and proceeded to clean out the vent. Immediately after that the dryer began working correctly. He even checked a few of the other vents from the outside just to make sure there was not another issue that could cause problems. This includes a complete cleaning of the inside of your dryer where all kinds of dryer lint is in places you won't have realized existed. I tried to clean my own lint trap inside my dryer a few years ago and lost one of the screws after I thought the socket was stripped and could no longer engage a screw. In checking my dryer, Jan noticed this and promptly used his own screw to make sure it was properly fastened, and got it fastened. This is the kind of person he is. He saw something that could be made better with a simple fix and he just went ahead and did it. I'm shocked he even noticed it at all, let along fixing it unsolicited. I initially considered using a basic duct cleaning service and I am so glad that I found Jan. He is a one man operation so what you will be getting is a guy that cares deeply, probably more than you care about your own setup. That's what you want, a guy that cares more than you do, not less. He knows his stuff, you will save money on electricity and gas after the cleaning and your house will be safer as a result of his visit. Pricing was extremely reasonable. This is the second time we used Jan to clean our dryer and vent. He just gets better and better. Not only is he punctual (he showed up exactly on time!). He is extremely nice and does the most detailed cleaning of any person I have ever had come and clean my vents. He gave us other household tips about or dryer, fabric softener, our refrigerator coils, even our humidifier too! He is a wealth of knowledge, a nice guy, and did a fantastic job. I hired Dryer Vent Pro sight unseen, something I never do. I had a dryer that needed to be cleaned and found them on Angie's List and took a leap of faith trusting the reviews. Allow me to shorten the gap of your upcoming leap of faith. The owner came, ran his diagnostic, walked me through some maintenance that I should be doing and knocked the job out. He ended up replacing some frayed flexible duct pieces that I had free of charge. He looked at my washer and gave me advice on its long-term cleaning free of charge. Jan was fantastic! I had actually seen his van while sitting in traffic and remembered that I was long overdue for the dryer vent to be cleaned out. I contacted Jan via his website to confirm he'd be back in my area and he was available within a week and booked. He was priced a lot better than the last big chain I used 3 years before. He was thorough, explained everything he was doing and found that the vent cover outside under the soffit was letting cold air back into the house, which can ultimately damage the heat sensors in the dryer itself. He called at the agreed upon time, then came to our house and did a very professional job at a fair price. He was very careful not to track dirt into our house as he brought in his various tools. He did a thorough cleaning of the vent and additionally did some adjustments to make sure that the vent was working as well as possible. What a nice man and a great job. Our dryer vents through the roof and he was up and down that ladder a dozen times. His prices were extremely reasonable and he lift out home cleaner than it had been.
