This is my third time using Joe's company Chicago Duct Cleaning Company to clean my ducts and vents. He is very meticulous when it comes to cleaning the ducts and vents. Its important to note I am very conscious and have allergies. These guys take great pride in their work. Here is how it works. First he comes in to assess the location and layout of the duct work. Then he identifies the supply and return lines. Once he has had a look he wheels out this giant vacuum outside and hose (1ft in diameter) where its brought to the HVAC unit and connects there. Then this huge balloon attached to a trash can sized bin inflates. Once on, the vacuum is pulling air from both the supply and returns. Second, Joe and his team bring in high pressure air and a crazy looking rubber attachment that flaps around inside the duct-work agitating and cleaning off all sides. He also uses a high pressure air line to assist cleaning out the gunk inside while the outside vacuum is working to pull out all the yuck. He typically starts with the return lines , then moves to the supply lines. Once complete, the duct-work looks original. Third, he comes in with a sanitize solution for all the ducts. After this is applied, he closes up the openings and cleans up. After the work is completed you should be able to tell a noticeable difference in the air quality especially if it's been years since you've had the ducts clean. I would also highly recommend you change your air filters at the time or wait after they leave. You might as well have everything clean and fresh. The total time it took to clean my house was around 4 hours. My home is about 2000 Sq Ft. Plan for half a day. I'm very happy with the work Joe and his team performed on my house. I bought a Groupon for CDC for "82% Off Full House Air Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning with Furnace Check Up from chicago duct cleaning." My main reason for buying it was to get the dryer vent cleaned; the air ducts were a secondary concern, and I explained this to both the person on the phone who I contacted prior to buying and the technician as soon as he arrived. Upon arrival, I felt a bit uncomfortable as the technician, Eli, almost immediately started asking me personal questions. Do I live alone? How old am I? As a woman letting a technician in, these questions are quite intimidating, even if they're meant just as conversation. When it came time to actually clean the dryer duct, the technician explained that the Groupon only covered having him hold a standard ShopVac hose up to the outside vent, not actually running the brush through the vent. He charged me an extra $100 for the 5 minutes it took to run the brush through the vent, and then proceeded to tell me repeatedly that it was my fault for not reading the fine print or calling, both of which I did. The fine print says nothing about the limited nature of the cleaning. Then, I had to pay. Oh, 3% extra for using CC. Oh, the company's actual name is "Indoor Quality Air." I tried to go to the website listed on the receipt I received, and the website doesn't even exist! WHAT? The Groupon was a total rip-off, just a chance for them to get into my house and then upsell me on what I wanted to get done. read more

Extremely impressed with the work and customer service that Chicago Duct Cleaning Company provided. I have an extremely small utility closet that doesn't allow for much space to move around (or at all). The men were extremely helpful and understanding. After they left, I had noticed that my air conditioner was not working and could not figure out why. I contacted Joe and he quickly called me back. He was extremely understanding and helpful. He tried to walk me through what might have happened on the phone and then willingly came back a few days later to check it. It ended up being human error on my end and nothing the company did. I really appreciated how understanding Joe and his team were and how they explained to me 1) the work they did and 2) all equipment in my utility closet which they did not have to. To be fair, technically I'm not a paying customer. I just saw the yelp rating and was having weird beeping issues with my clothes dryer and thought the venting might be clogged. The man on the phone talked me through diagnosing the problem, spending a good 10-15 minutes talking to me, helping me find the exterior vent, etc... These guys are really helpful and great to work with. I had a problem with my dryer, still getting heat, but not drying the clothes because the vent was clogged. They explained everything to be as to why these problems were happening. Very knowledgeable, meticulous with their work, and efficient with their time. I originally chose them because of good reviews and they are local for us, and happy that they are a service that we will always use again in the future because they did such a great job. Chicago Duct Cleaning did an amazing job cleaning out all the ducts in my 2-bedroom 2-bath. They also cleaned out the ventilation system by my washing machine and dryer. Joe was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, you could tell he really cared about his job. He showed me areas of concern, how he addressed them, and what I myself could do in the future to prevent these concerns from happening again. It's rare to find a service company that performs this well. I manage a 19-unit building in Buena Park and this is the second time in 6 years that we've hired Chicago Duct Cleaning to clean the main dryer stacks and service the individual dryer supply lines. Joe and Rob are thorough, professional, and excellent to work with. If they see a connection that's not quite right, they fix it. They disconnect each dryer from the main stack, clean the lint from the discharge line to the trunk, clean the dryer lint stuck inside the dryer, reconnect, test, etc. They're working in tight quarters and do whatever is required to get the job done right. These guys are pros and I highly recommend them. read more

I'd start by saying we were able to schedule the visit within a week of calling, which was awesome because we had a timeline we needed to follow. Joe was great. He called while on the way and arrived on time. He explained what they were going to do in a manner that was easy to understand. He was friendly with all the occupants of our house- including our pets! They were neat and took precautions to avoid making a mess or tracking anything into the house. After doing an incredibly thorough job and cleaning up all of their equipment, we got to see before and after pictures of our duct work and the difference was really impressive. They were really hard workers and very nice guys. And after the sanitizer was applied, they left our house much cleaner and smelling really good. 5 stars. A+. Yesterday was my annual dryer vent cleaning. I have used Chicago Duct Cleaning Company for years and so they call me to schedule yearly. I'm not sure that most people need to clean their dryer vent that often. I however have four dogs who shed a LOT and therefore we do quite a bit of laundry. The annual cleaning is truly needed. Once again I was extremely pleased with the service. They were flexible in scheduling and then yesterday the technician was prompt. He had his work cut out for him because the dryer and the vent line was full of lint and dog hair as I knew it would be (it was impressive). I do try to clean out the lint trap but still it piles up. Chicago Duct Cleaning Company did an amazing job. As soon as the technican left I threw a dog bed into the washer and then dryer and immediately I could tell the dryer was running more efficiently as it dried faster. read more

I couldn't be happier with the work done by the repair professional Joe. I had a dryer not fully heating that was challenging to fix. There were several points along the way where the average guy would have said I can't do anymore to help you. But Joe was persistent and kept trying one more thing after another and the result is that I now have a perfectly working stackable washer/dryer. Extremely reasonable pricing, too. read more

This company truly earned these 5 stars. My scheduling experience with Tom was thorough yet efficient. He explained their system and process. Even after we established a price he lowered it (how many times does THAT happen?!) after finding out my ducts were in the ceiling. His techs were just as detailed. After discovering my ducts were in BAD shape, they took extra time to scape and clean and sanitize. I definitely recommend them! read more

GREEN AIR CARE and CHICAGO DUCT CLEANING are SCAMMING people by selling Groupons and not disclosing the REAL fine print, which basically says YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. GREEN AIR CARE is subcontracted out by Chicago Duct Cleaning (this was denied by the technician, but I personally had to schedule with both of the companies so I know it's true). I called Chicago Duct Cleaning, which was who the Groupon was sold through. I scheduled with them no problem. About an hour later I received a call from Green Air Care, saying they needed to schedule. When I explained I already had, the operator couldn't find me in the system and then explained that they were subcontracted out when Chicago Duct got too busy and I needed to schedule with her as well. We scheduled for 2 weeks out on a Tuesday and they no showed. They then called saying they would be there Thursday, and I must have mixed up the days. No ma'am, I did not. I was not happy, but wanted the work done, so I had them come out anyway. Upon arrival (two days late), the technician explained what he was going to do, fair enough, but it didn't include the dryer vent, which is why I scheduled in the first place. He said the dryer vent wasn't included in the "Express" package unless it was on the first floor. Nowhere on my voucher does it say "Express" or that the dryer vent has to be on the first floor. When I pulled up the fine print to show him it didn't disclose the information he was telling me, he said he had the same coupon in his truck that showed the fine print. Yeah, sure you do, and this helps me how?? However, the technician was nice enough and said this happens all the time and that it's the way they get customers. Nice. He did not want to speak with my landlord as I'm sure he gets yelled at all the time for this. I let him do his work and thanked him for the information even though I am extremely unsatisfied. Thanks for blowing a leaf blower on, not in, the vents. I could have done that myself. Shame on Chicago Duct Cleaning, Green Air Care and shame on Groupon for allowing this to happen. DO NOT USE CHICAGO DUCT CLEANING OR GREEN AIR CARE. It's not worth the hassle, disappointment OR waste of a work day. read more

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviews. Joe and Rob were efficient, and clearly very experienced. They took great care to protect our house from the equipment they brought in, were conscientious of our pets, and did an incredible job. Our vents, exchanges, and dryer look like new. I have had several companies bid out buildings of ours and was dissatisfied with their sales pitch and process. I called CDC because of their 5 star yelp reviews. I was slightly hesitant when their quoted prices were so much less than other companies I had been in contact with. They have proved themselves to be an exemplary company and I would highly recommend their services to anyone read more

We were very happy with our service from this company. I had been trying to convince my family for quite some time that the vents and ducts in our home needed cleaning. I don't think they were completely convinced until they saw what was being pulled out of our vent. soot so black you would think it was coal. We could tell the difference in breathing the air quality immediately after they were done. We were also very happy with the technician, Joe, along with everyone else we spoke with on the phone.
