Just went in b/c my 5 year old Chrysler 200S was having some a/c issues and this company had a coupon to check it out. The guys were great! They told me what was wrong, gave me an estimate and had it done w/in a few hours-no more clicking noise, a/c is quieter and it was more than fairly priced (as opposed to what the Chrysler agency has estimated). I needed my tire repaired but they had some difficulty and told me they were sorry they couldn't get the patch to stick so they sent me to Discount Tire. They were great as well. They do good work. My gripe with them is I brought my truck in and told them what was wrong and what needed to be done. They still insisted on charging me an hour and a half of troubleshooting time. I didn't bring my vehicle in to be troubleshot, that part of the process had already been done. Oh well, didn't even feel like arguing with them at the desk more than the 5 minutes I was trying to convince them it was a nonsense charge. I probably won't be back and will just do the work myself. I brought my vehicle here since I am busy and didn't feel like doing it myself, since I fix vehicles and equipment for a living.. I don't always feel like doing it in my garage. read more

Never go here! These people are swindlers! Tried to charge me $130 to check my check engine light. I called my shop back in my hometown, they said they could check it for free, just by checking a code. These people will do anything to squeeze an extra buck out of you if you're getting an oil change. read more

I had my vehicle AC system tested there and found to have a bad pressure switch. They gave me a ridiculous estimate for the repaid and threw in a little extra (as they called it) to fix a wire. It was so grossly over the top I said NO. I will take care of it myself. I said thanks be there soon to pick it up. The guy started to give me an attitude because I wasn't having my car fixed there. I told you guys are way to expensive so I drove it down to Phoenix to have it repaired for a fraction of the price. I would never go back to this place. They try to rip you off and if you don't shop around they just might get away with it!! I recommend, go elsewhere read more

I just had some maintenance to my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and they were very helpful and the service was excellent. I cannot comment on whether it was a competitive price because I did not shop around. However with the convenience of taking my vehicle there, and they providing me transportation back home and to the shop was great. The customer service was excellent. Seth is a true professional. I had a break job done there on a Volkswagen several months ago.This was before Seth became employed by Tobias. There was an issue with the warning light circuit that they were unable to repair. The warning light comes on indicating that there is a problem with the brakes, however there is no problem. They spent hours trying to correct this. I agreed to take the car since I knew there was no problem On a recent visit , Seth discovered that the vehicle still had this problem and offered to try his new diagnostic equipent in an effort to fix it.. The fact that he was concerned about a repair at this later date was the all important factor involved here. I will continue to use them in the future. read more

I have been getting my routine service here for all of my vehicles ever since I moved to this town. With the monthly coupons the routine servicing is almost as cheap as I could do it myself without all the hassles, labor, and dealing with the automotive waste. I also have confidence in this shop's work and have never had a reason to doubt their judgement. Even for a simple oil change if I want they also rotate the tires and do a basic but thorough check of the vehicle systems and advise me of things to keep an eye on without pushing the sale of extra work. read more

I had heard many good things about Wilhelm Automotive. This was my first experience with Wilhelm, and I expected good service. I had an air-conditioning problem with my Honda. My car would need a $40 A/C inspection completed to determine the problem and whether the A/C could be affordably repaired.Unfortunately, after $250 of work, and a $300 dollar bill, it was determined that their diagnosis was incorrect and nothing was fixed. Isn't the $40 diagnosis supposed to eliminate unnecessary work? As a first time customer, my experience ended with a $300 mistake and a deep hole in my wallet! read more

My review concerns parts, etc pricing. Recently Tobias Cave Creek charged $465 for a fuel pump for my Yukon. Searching online I was amazed to find highest retail pricing in the $150 range. I also asked to have checked an engine oil leak, which I already knew existed. Their check consisted of telling me there was an oil leak and charged $36. After charging me over $1100 to replace the fuel pump, they apparently felt they couldn't live without the $36 to tell me something I indicated I already knew. So, doing business with Tobias? Be ready for a gouging! read more

Very disappointed with my last visit. I had work done here a couple times. The price is higher than Phoenix but they are fast. This last time I had to call 3 times to get the estimate sent to me. The parts prices for after market parts was almost double what the dealer quoted me for OEM. This time I felt like they really didn't care about giving me a fair quote to capture my business. I really thought I was being gouged because I've always just signed off on their recommendations in the past. My Daughters car broke down driving down from flagstaff. I drove from phoenix to assist her and limped the car to Tobias after observing it smoking. I left the car advising them I filled the vehicle with an extra quart of transmission fluid. The next day I received a call with an estimate. I was informed the vehicle code showed a transmission problem. (I figured that much) I told them it appeared to have a leak. They advised they did not physically inspect the car for leaks, but thought it might need a $3000 Transmission. I called a transmission specialty shop and they advised the smoke was most likely from me over filling the tranny. I called Tobias and asked why they thought I needed a tranny? They were guessing. Tobias auto staff was very helpful and honest. I took my truck in for a burned out power seat motor. They ordered the motor from the factory, and started the install. They quoted me a price of $400 for parts and labor. I got a phone call later that day from the mechanic stating it was just a screw wedged in the seat track preventing it from moving. They charged me $25 for his labor, and sent the seat motor back. If that's not the definition of ethics, I don't know what is. I will be a lifetime customer! read more

Stopped in today for an oil change. It was my first time here. As I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a clean, professional technician. He took time to answer all our questions and concerns about minor to major maintenance that Needs to be done. The office and waiting area was very clean. Upon picking up my vehicle the charge was actually a little under the quote. My truck was even returned to me clean, as in no oily finger prints or smudges on the inside or out.
