I went to Dr. Wilson for several years and never received any care that was good for my health. In fact I have had to go through 2 major hernia repairs because Dr. Wilson decided in 2018 that he was going to relocate my implanted pain pump battery that had been in the same spot since 2004 with NO reason and he cut into the muscles in my stomach. He is so shaky that he couldn't even stitch my stomach closed, he used steri straps to close the huge incision, it didn't work and I had to go in several times to get it redone so my stomach would heal. I would not send my dog to this quack who should have retired 30 years ago. He does what he wants, not allowing the patient any say in their own care and usually with NO thought about what is BEST for the patients! read more

I had femoral artery surgery 6 months ago, and am now having nerve pain, so my surgeon told me to go see a pain specialist. I can self refer, so I found Dr. Wilson on the Sharp website. He's fairly close by and so I chose him based on this and the fact he's a Stanford grad. But goodness, after reading these reviews, I'm sort of happy that I couldn't schedule with him. I called and left a message, returned today. I called back only to get voicemail. I called back again and pressed 0 for the operator, told her I wanted an appointment. Sent to a different voicemail. I called a different doctor, further away, and was immediately scheduled and thoroughly assisted. read more

4 stars as I have not had any work done. Appt was at 9:45 and check was at 9:30. Get here at 9:34 check in and wait about 25 mins. Get called back to a room at 9:59. At 10:22 i started writing this review and i still have not seen a doctor. 10:27 doc walks in. We move to another room. I read several reviews about how awful this place was but I saw a few encouraging ones as well so I decided to give it a shot keep in mind this being outsourced from the VA and they found this place for me. This place is as crooked as it gets there is a nurse assistant who is called Shawncy she is extremely rude and makes up bogus stories that aren't true about your health.I have been in pain and have been taking medication which they said I was not talking, so they sent me to get blood tests and they were requesting the wrong blood tests that would not show opiates in my system and when they got the blood test back they accused me of not taking my medicine which she said is a red flag and took me off my medicine.So they falsified their blood tests. When I asked for my medical records they never included the requested blood test just the results. So that proves to me that they lied just so they could have a reason to take me off my medicine. I have been in severe pain,I was crushed between two vehicles had a punctured lung, broken pelvis in four places, multiple fractures to right leg, multiple vascular injuries to left leg requiring 200 stitches. So I was in a lot of pain they didn't care they just want to show that they are taking people off their pain medicine to put a feather in their cap. They shouldn't be able to do this to people. They did the same thing to my Sister. Have been going to another pain specialist who has been treating me nothing but kind and giving me the medication I need. I went to see Dr. Wilson about three months ago. I have chronic lower back pain from a car accident; and previously had all the metal removed out of my back from a failed fusion. All this doctor wanted to do was give an injection because that's how they make money. I opted to try a new type of tens unit that wouldn't leave blisters on my skin. The medical assistant was very inefficient. They knew the type of tens unit I had. TENS 7000. You can buy them online for $26. They said they would order me this new type of tens unit; that is a garment which does not give your skin blisters. I waited a month; and they actually sent me the same exact tens unit that I already have. For triple the amount of money. They had me call another medical device company after a month of waiting around to find that particular tens unit. It turned out they don't carry the product any longer. Then the medical assistant told me that they have The garment tens unit in the office; and she can't believe she didn't remember that they sold them. So she said she would call my insurance to get approval. It's been over a month and I still haven't heard back from her. Every time you call you'll never be able to talk to anybody you can only leave a message. If they return your call it'll take about a week or two. From my last conversation it's been a month; and I haven't heard from them at all. This doctor and his staff will give you the runaround; and you will never get any relief from your pain. I highly advise you to find another pain specialist. Overall review very unprofessional, highly inefficient, do not care about their patients and their pain. read more

I feel bad that I totally left out Jenn, Shawncey's MA (I believe that's her position). Jenn is very informative and always has a great attitude. I am always impressed that she is able to get back to me at the times she states she will. I don't think there's ever been a lag. After my appointment yesterday, I appointment very confident that I've found the right pain management doctor. They're understanding and very knowledgeable. I requested a ton of referrals and they're totally open to having me try whatever works for me. Plus, I could sit and talk to Theresa forever. She makes the uncomfortable monotony of doctors appointments pleasurable. After cancelling appointments due to work conflicts, it's hard to be see again within a month of my cancellation but they do their best and went above and beyond to have me seen again! I greatly appreciate the gesture and I appreciate the staff. Thank you Shawncey, Jenn, and Theresa. It's a shame that most offices can't provide as much personality, compassion and knowledge that you guys have. It makes healing a more positive experience. read more

I would like to do a review on the office, the staff, and the female doctor, but Yelp only allows the Doctor. First, I should mention, I did not see Dr. Wilson. I saw a female doctor. It was nearly impossible to get an appointment with these people. They don't return calls. They sent me paperwork to an email address they made up (the email they had on file for me was literally no where near my email that I gave them) Then called me to ask why I had not sent back the paperwork they emailed. I called several times and left messages to tell them I had not gotten the paperwork they said they sent. Next, the very first appointment was fine. The doctor came in and did a thorough exam. I was very clear that I did NOT want any medications especially narcotics. She was very clear that she was not going to give me any medications, especially narcotics. I left happy with our first encounter. They had to get approval from my insurance to do the procedure we agreed on for the next appointment. That also was fine. They called back and scheduled my procedure. When I arrived, they put me in a room and left the door open while they proceeded to have a staff meeting for about 15 minutes about how they can raise their google and yelp ratings. (I have an idea how to improve it, but they didn't ask me...). They moved me to the procedure room which was all fine and good. The procedure was painful, and I expected that. When they were finished, they moved me to a another room and told me the medical assistant would sit with me and show me her amazing at voice impressions. I responded with, "I'm not a child and I don't need to be entertained." I actually liked the medical assistant, though. She didn't do the voice impressions but she was kind and patient. While sitting there in the room with her and my husband, the female doctor that did the procedure came in the recovery room rather abruptly demanding to know why the door was closed and doors should never be closed in that office. I guess patient privacy in recovery is not their specialty. I returned a few days later for my follow-up and was taken to a room by a woman that I can only describe as morbidly obese. She proceeded to take my vitals signs with more attitude than I have ever seen from anyone. She got mad at me because the blood pressure cuff wasn't working correctly. I'm not sure how that was my fault, but maybe she missed a snack or something. The doctor came in and her whole attitude changed. So I don't appreciate her abusive and rude personality before the doctor came in. The doctor (same one I've been seeing) was surprised that the procedure didn't work and said there's no way I can be in as much pain as I am, which is interesting because the first time we met she was wondering how I was able to walk with the amount of arthritis and issues going on in my MRI. But I guess on that day, I shouldn't be in pain. I reminded her of said MRI and she looked at it and realized I was, in fact, truthful about my diagnosis. She didn't seem to remember me at all. She didn't remember the procedure she had done on me a week prior, or the fact that I'm very athletic and in shape (unlike her medical assistant). She asked me if I wanted medication. I reminded her that we both discussed that I didn't want medications or narcotics, so she prescribed me Tramadol. (Which is a medication and mild narcotic...thanks doc!!) I did not fill the medication. She had me come back a couple of weeks later which she then offered to do the same procedure again (the one that was painful and didn't work) to help me with my headaches. I said no, so she offered another procedure, which I agreed to. At no point in any appointment did I have complaints of headaches, yet here we are treating the headaches she swears I'm having. They finally called me back 3 weeks later to book the appointment. I told them no thank you and they said ok. They didn't seem to concerned that they got fired, but judging by these other reviews, they are used to that. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

What a waste of time! It's unbelievable that I needed to get pre-approved from my insurance to see this doctor. If you're waiting to see him, you should start looking for other options now. I was seeking someone who could give me localized pain options to take me off medications that basically snowed me. I have nerve pain after a collapsed lung + surgery. Dr. Wilson basically told me it was rare & unusual to have the pain I was describing. Was he calling me a liar?? It was suggested to me that he could do a nerve block but when I asked him, he said the area was too intricate. He then proceeded to try & prescribe another medication (which insurance would not approve). Also tried to give me crazy advice that if/when I went back to work, if I did happen to injure myself, that I shouldn't say anything because Workman's Comp is such a mess. That I should just go home & basically suck it up. I'm sorry, WHAT??! Then to add insult to injury, he suggests I need to employ Cognitive Behavioral therapy with the help of a psychologist, to work on my fear of getting injured. Again, WHAT??! I worked a busy 12hr shift with a collapsed lung, I think I am familiar with discomfort. AND I am already in pain - which he obviously didn't believe. I already told him that after a few hours of housework/gardening at home, the pain is exacerbated. This man did not listen to a word I said. His assessment was half-assed. He didn't even assess the area I am feeling the pain. This whole appointment was a waste of time - basically to placate me, to say in so many words that what I am feeling is all in my head. Then he had the nerve to hand me a card to a psychologist office, then said - if it doesn't work out there you can always come back to see me. Never. I will never set foot again in this office. read more

I had also forgotten to mention that during our conversation of my ailments we had also discussed non surgical methods I have taken in an effort to combat my pain. One of them was a narcotic that worked but minimally. Even after finding out that the steroid injections made me much worse and the narcotic helped, even a little, he still suggested going back and trying the injections again rather than what actually helped a little. Keep in mind when you are reading reviews for a pain management specialist, you are going to see angry drug seekers that got turned away saying negative things. on that same note if you are a drug seeker this is not the doctor for you. He knows what he is doing and will spot you a mile away. That being said, if you are a legitimate patient and want relief from your pain Dr. Wilson is extremely knowledgeable and will probably offer you options you didn't know existed. read more

I would NOT recommend this physician to anyone looking for a physician to treat pain. It is obvious that years of listening to patients 'complain' of pain has taken its toll. No sensitivity or 'bed side' manner at all. While his physicians assistants and office staff are efficient and quite nice, his office manager is arrogant and rude. Try getting paper work filled out - it will leave you frustrated beyond belief. As a patient this man treats you like he would like to treat the insurance company - rude. Pain issues are complex and Dr. Wilson has obviously become intolerant to patients needs. While an expert in outpatient procedures, it is time for him to close his office and leave patient physician relationships to others who are not jaded. It is clear that Dr. Wilson's primary interest is in outpatient procedures - that is where the real money is and he seems to be focusing on the real money. I have been suffering with a shoulder issue for years , so far Dr . Wilson is the only Dr that has listened to me and has been able to get my pain down quite a bit. I m so appreciative of him and hid his staff they continue to help me and not just brush me off and tell me to take ibuprofen like so many of the other " specialist" ive seen ! I don't know about you, but I would like to speak with the people who are in control of my cronic pain. Dr wilson is rude, and does not care to listen to your history with cronic pain. Without reviewing the very detailed and well documented information I supply he remarked "I think it's your Fassett joints". You think, or you know! Before I knew it he was scheduling for a procedure. Second visit I tried to speak his hand in my face he barked"ENOUGH, I've heard enough!! Dr Wilson is a very funny man. He worked with my prior dr, his name was Dr. Maywood. He was the best doctor I've ever had, knew what he was doing, took time to talk things over with you no matter how long it took. He was great at doing procedures and had no problem doing them if he thought they'd benefit you. When he passed away around 6 years ago I lost the best doctor in the world! Seeing as Dr. Wilson had done work in Dr. Maywood's office and I'd seen him may times there I decided to start going to him. He was great as usual, although he'd gotten much slower. He took very good care of me and managed my pain fantastically. Then he had me start seeing one of his nurse practitioner's. I was unfortunate enough to get stuck with Cheyenne. She ALWAYS has a stink attitude, looks at you like your opinion means zilch, acts like your lying about your pain. I'm fighting liver cancer which is very painful, have stage 4 cirrhosis, amongst other issues. Have had cervical spine surgery with bone fusion and a plate screwed into my spine, severe arthritis, shoulder nerve damage, sciatic nerve damage down the front of both legs and hips, and severe neuropathy in both feet, not from high sugar but from nerve damage due to liver cancer. My oncologist called her to tell her I'm always in pain, can't sleep, and need my medications raised in strength to stop my severe pain. Dr. Wilson's Office asked if my liver could handle the pain medications... they were told yes as long as certain ones weren't used. It was decided they would contact my oncologist prior to prescribing any pain medications to ensure they wouldn't harm me (my liver). Cheyenne got her nasty attitude and told me there was nothing wrong with my liver, it worked perfectly, gave no pain, and she was cutting me off all my pain medications and putting me on a medication that would cause me total liver failure. I asked her how could my liver work perfectly with #1 stage 4 cirrhosis, #2 advanced liver cancer. She just stood up and walked out. I've decided I'm going to go to HR about her, file a complaint with the medical board, and speak with Dr. Wilson directly. I've also found another pain management doctor who I'm going to change to. Infact I had my first appointment today! I know quite a lot about him from word of mouth, other patients he has, and family members who either currently go or have gone to him. I believe I'll be happy there. I'm writing this review to warn you about Cheyenne, she's the type who thinks she's better then you because she's a nurse, she has a horrible attitude, lies about your conditions, is very disrespectful, and numerous other negative things. She's very lucky someone hasn't knocked her teeth down her throat. Personally I can't stand her, I've dreamed about her many times at night, dreamed of her smart mouth and disrespect towards clients. If your planning on trying Dr. Wilsons Office demand they don't send you to her. Just a warning, it'll save you tons of aggravation and pain!!! Oh, here's a little tidbit... pertaining to lab work a normal reading for tumor markers is 8.0 or less, I just had labs done 3 days ago, my tumor markers are now reading 3111. Does that sound normal to any of you? That shows I have a very aggressive cancer, and a very large cancer! Please pray for me that it's not spread to other areas out of my liver... NO NO NO DO NOT come here for treatment! Dr. Wilson is COMPLETELY incompetent! If I could give zero stars I would. He took over my pain mgmt practice after my doctor passed away. At first things were OK because he had 2 other doctor's working with him....then one.....then just random, rotating, untraceable PA's, then the office staff started to quit. Wonder why. Doctor Wilson should have retired years ago! Not only is he incompetent and forgetful but he gives ZERO shits about his patients! The last 6 months have been the worst with him hiring a totally dense, dipshit receptionist, an asshole of an office manager...... She can't book appointments, leaves personal messages about confidential medical information on my voicemail..for the wrong patient! Can't book an appointment 30 days out, forgets to confirm appointments. The new office manager is a total ass, he's rude, impersonal, acts like your mere presence disturbs him. Last month I was 8 minutes late for my appointment and he seemed pissed that I was stuck in gridlock traffic in the rain and couldn't get there in time. He demanded that I reschedule.... Unless I wanted to wait until after 10:30 am (my appointment was at 8am....why not wait around until after 10:30 am?!?!!! Wtf?!) I asked how I was supposed to get through the week until my rescheduled appt with no medication and he said he "would ask someone". He left me sitting in the waiting room for 37 minutes, never left the front desk or picked up the phone, never went in back or talked to anyone....just 'pretended' to call the back office then called me up and said "there is no one here who can fill your prescription" my response...."well if no one can fill my Rx then why did you even book an appointment for me today" he shrugged me off, said "well you will be meeting with a new PA you have never met before (the 4th I believe) Dr. Wilson isn't even here." The office (I include everyone because it's a team effort in this office to leave patients so sick without a care in the world) they left me without medication for 9 days until I could get another appointment! Twice.....TWICE the doctor wrote an Rx for 30 days but told the receptionist I didn't need another appointment for 60 days out. Out of meds again! Scrambling between holiday closures for Xmas and New Years with no medication to get me to my next appointment. They never ONCE asked if I was OK with my pain levels that had skyrocketed since they screwed up and I couldn't get my Rx refilled in time. I accept responsibility for being 8 minutes late...I get it, but the next appointment I arrived 5 minutes early and they made me wait 50 minutes to see Dr. Wilson! That is nonsense and NO way to treat your patients! It took 4 years for my other 2 docs to get me on a regimen that worked well to manage my pain. Dr. Wilson threw all that out the window and told me he was cutting my meds by 60% in one months time with NO explanation nor reasoning. His response when I asked why was "well, you have 2 options" then he never told me what those options were, just changed the subject. His PA told me she had met with Dr. Wilson and said that if I sign a waiver (releasing them from liability) then they would continue me on the meds I had been taking for 4 years. I agreed to sign the waiver yet it was never given to me and at the next appointment Dr. Wilson wrote notes saying he would terminate my meds completely the following month for no reason!! I even had a PA give an excuse that "the workers comp insurance will eventually stop paying for treatment". When I told her that my w/c claims rep gave a blanket, 1 year pre-authorization for treatment she replied "oh...well you don't have cancer so....." Then she uncomfortably walked out of the room. These PA's and Dr. Wilson are completely incompetent. The office staff is rude and don't give a damn about your suffering when you are forced to go weeks without medication because they can't schedule or confirm appointments correctly. The nurses there are miserable because the office is run so poorly. These are just issues I've had within the last 6 months!! I could go on and on!!! If you are looking for pain management that will be effective with a doctor who cares about you....DO NOT go to this office!!!! read more

The office literally never calls back. It takes calling 4 times for someone to finally call back MAYBE. I thought it would be a one, two, or even three time thing, but this is the fourth time I've called and left messages, and even when someone eventually does call back after i complain, it's just a receptionist, and the MA or doctors never get back to me. The point of this place is pain management...yet here I am two weeks past my 5 day wait for the procedure to have worked, I called on day 5, and the pain keeps getting worse and worse. I insist I need something to get me by, and they can't schedule be before 4 weeks because "that's what the doctor requested". I explain I'm in utter pain and I need to figure out what to do in four weeks, because I can't sleep through this pain, finally get told a doctor will call me after no one has answered my messages I've left (did I mention the receptionist NEVER ANSWERS THE PHONE LITERALLY EVER), and I still haven't heard from the doctor. I have been a patient for 21 years..... I suffer from a rare nerve disorder called reflex sympathetic dystrophy/complex regional pain syndrom. Dr Wilson has AWAYS had my back and fought hard for me with my workers comp insurance! His staff has done their best to be there for me...Every PA has been knowledgeable and the MAs have all been professional. I have met and worked with every one of his employees and they have been fully informed. It was Dr Wilson who recommended the Medtronic Pain pump for me over 20 years ago. With the pump I went from being in a wheelchair, that other Drs said I'd be in for life due to the pain, to today, where the pain is managed, and I walk without assistance. When I first met him I was very depressed. I was seeing therapists who were not being helpful. Dr Wilson knew for me to feel better over all, I needed to see a therapist that would help me, and he found the perfect person!! I saw him for many years... Doc" has been up on the latest pain meds and shared the opinions with me... I feel we have always been a team, and he always worked with my other Drs & my lawyer... Dr. Wilson is a good doctor, have him for over 10 years now but the staff,? among several PAs who came and gone from this office, He picked a winner among them, Andrea Brodie, just got on board and think and act like she knows everything, She is rude , no compassion to her patients and very unprofessional.She will walk out on you if you don't agree with her. Maybe she's forgetting that patients coming in their office are in pain and for her to argue instead of comfort them is not very welcoming.She 'll never become a real doctor with her attitude.Also the receptionist, your job is to relay messages to your boss and back and don't try to confront and argue with the patients either.
