William Poll is new to me. It's another historic company that I've passed in my walks over and over. Recently something in the window caught my eye so I checked out the reviews. I definitely decided I needed to return for a sandwich. Today I decided to walk down to this high end deli at 75th and Lexington. After walking around Central Park with Yelp Friends Robert C. and Janeen I was racking up walking miles and was really hungry. When I arrived the employees at William Poll weren't busy and a nice employee greeted me at the door. I took a lot of photos and told him I had never been here before so I need to know the drill. He pointed out the menu because I said I wanted a sandwich. I was thrilled to see Pumpernickel Bread as a choice. I decided on the Ham and Swiss Cheese and asked for Mayo. The same employee said he would make the sandwich and would I also like mustard. When I asked what kind he said Dijon, I decided it sounded delicious. And it sure was! My only problem is finding a place to eat. I decided to walk back to Fifth Avenue near the park and sit on a bench. The sandwich bread was so fresh and either I was hungry or it's a delicious sandwich. Both probably. It's $10.88 with tax. They take cash or credit cards. There's lots of great food items you can purchase for yourself or as gifts. It's a beautiful place. The chandelier is a striking centerpiece as you enter and leave. To sum it up, the employees are friendly and efficient. The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is fancy and clean. I hate to, but I have to deduct a star for no seating. I won't walk over a mile from my apartment this winter to get a sandwich and sit outside in the cold to eat. I'm recommending you eat here or shop the other specialty food items they carry. It's definitely a one of a kind exquisite business.

William Poll is one of those unique places you only find in NYC. It is a fancy sandwich shop that has been here a while and does things right. I didn't know what to expect here but after reading the reviews I had to see the hype. I went with the poll special which is a couple different meats with cole slaw and russian dressing. The attention to detail when making the sandwich is refreshing to see. I also tried the famous chicken salad with bacon which was amazing. The contrast between the creaminess of the chicken salad and fattiness of the bacon was perfect. Now I get the complaints about the small sandwiches but they put them together perfectly. The ingredients are fresh. Its like the upscale fancy version of the sandwich I used to bring to school as a kid. They sell other stuff in here too like soup and some brownies. The prices are high for what you get but you pay for quality. Definitely check it out!

Their chicken and bacon sandwich is epic. I live in California now and one of the things I miss most about New York is William Poll.

We bought meatloaf there which was expensive and inedible. The ratatouille on the other hand was pretty good. We will not go back.

Divine tuna sandwich, old school style. Puts most tuna sandwich purveyors to shame. Prepared foods are excellent.

Delicious sandwich spot that has a lot more options including soups and pastries. A bit pricey but very tasty and worth a splurge.

I had the classic Tonkatsu Ramen, with an egg - The pork ws seared and still so tender! The broth was very flavorful. My husband has a salmon rice bowl, and he loved it. He said the fish was cooked perfectly! We started with veggie gyoza, and they do them in a very interesting way. Very flat and all fried together. We were surprised when they brought them, but they were awesome! we were. fan of this style almost immediately! The waiter gently recommended the pork gyoza (his preference) but not everyone at the table eats meat, so we stayed with the vegetable. We really enjoyed our meal! everything was quick, the service was above and beyond, we would happily return!

The restaurant is a small cozy place that's great for a date night. The ramen itself was good. It wasn't very spicy despite me ordering the spicy beef ramen. However that's usually the case for all ramen places. The broth was delicious which I finished every last drop of. Again, the meal was very delicious. It wasn't a memorable bowl of ramen but I have no complaints. The ingredients were great and it had good flavor. It's definitely one of the better spots in the neighborhood. I could recommend this location for a date night over the other ramen establishments in the area. Again, there's no shortage of choices.

The dining area features a long counter with partitions between each diner, the better for you to focus on the experience of your meal. This is not the place to come for a group meal -- you really won't be able to talk to anyone who isn't immediately next to you -- but it's great for a quiet respite or solo dining. I got the Classic Tonkatsu, while my sister got the Veggie Ramen. Both were excellent, with richly flavorful broth, perfectly chewy noodles, and either meat or mushrooms. I got the medium spice, which was a balanced warmth that never tipped over into too much heat. I highly recommend!

Great lighting and I forgot to add the water dispenser is right behind you so you can easily refill yourself. I was expecting a hot water dispenser right next to you and matcha powder because I've seen it in some videos, but it's not the worst thing in the world. I'd go back, but I'm not much of a city person so I don't know when that would be. I will say, ordering from a kiosk takes away from the experience of writing on the paper you see on YouTube but again, not the worst thing in the world.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF.
