We slowly drove our car into their very busy shop on a Thursday morning and were immediately greeted by two staff who left a project to help us. Within 10-minutes, they had our tire off and in a tub of water to find the leak. Because we had driven a while on a low tire, unknowingly, there was evidence of side wall damage. We dreaded a big bill and long wait. More good luck: a screw was retrieved, the pressure left in the tire was adequate to not ruin it and our hole was foxed within 15-minutes. The auto repair staff and office staff were all wonderful. They were reassuring, honest and made us feel at home. They could have easily put us at the back of the line (we are out of towners) or sold us an expensive new tire. We walked away with a $25 repair bill. They even let us keep our car on their property while we went to breakfast and explored downtown on bikes. You don't find business like this these days. Please give them your business and respect. Wish we lived closer. They would be our go-to for car repairs.

I had a 2 o'clock appointment to rotate my tires and I got there 15 minutes early. The mechanic had my tires rotated and was finished by 2 o'clock, which was great, but I brought a friend with me to introduce a new customer who needed a tire repair from a nail. They refused to repair the tire since it was not scheduled. I asked since my appointment was at 2 o'clock and it was now 2 o'clock and my car was finished and they were ahead of schedule, Couldn't they work him in? The answer was no.

Lack of quality on installation on the Purchased of a new…read moreset of Goodyear tires. I travel full time and noticed the brand new tire on my driver side kept leaking air. I brought it in to a local repair shop thinking I'd picked up a nail, however, the tire repairman showed me that the leak was because the inside rim was not cleaned prior to installing the new tire causing a slow leak after having them only 3 weeks. I called to complain and the owner defended her technician instead of offering to reimburse me for the repair. The repair was not enough to even worry about but she was not even willing to give me the benefit of the doubt. Poor customer service in my opinion.

I had my 2005 GMV Envoy looked at back in July by Belle Tire in Gaylord, and they quoted me at 850+ for tie rods, ball joints and an alignment. If I wanted them to do my bearings, too, it would have been upwards of 1200+. Luckily, the husband and I have recently educated ourselves on bearing and breaks (thank you, Youtube!) and did those ourselves, and in the process saved about $250 -300. But we had to put off the other work due to finances. So today, we finally got ol' Betsy in for the above work to Royal tire...and they are doing ALL of it, AND found that my water pump needed replacing, so the pump, too...for an estimate of a little over 900. Tie Rods, Alignment, Ball Joints and Water pump. Under a grand. To me, that is an amazing deal. I know of several other mechanics closer to home that would have charged me closer to 1500+ for the same work....and taken a week+ to do the work, leaving me stranded. Royal is doing this all in one day, by appointment. No muss, no fuss. And ALWAYS, the NICEST, MOST POLITE GUYS!!! I had figured that every mechanic came automatically with a sour disposition and horrible customer service skills...but not these guys. I was 35 minutes late due to slick roads and traffic. They took it in stride and understood. The front of the house fellow was Dwayne. My mechanic was Duane. Both of them were genuine, caring, thorough, and took the time to explain to me what was done. Both were complete gentlemen and the nicest guys I've met in the auto business to date. I will continue to bring my vehicles to these guys. They are the best, hands down, in a 100 mile radius, if not more. Oh, and BTW, my final price for all the work? Actually BELOW quote, for a total of only 823.00 !!!!

Impossible to see how this could have been missed by tech. Car barely could move and grinding noise from front where wheel was hitting on control arm. I can understand mixing up the tires but not spotting this the second the car was driven is bizarre.

Bill's Standard Auto Repair was already closed, but we parked in the lot, dropped our keys into the key drop-off box with a note, and then called the next morning. They told us that they could fix it by the end of the day and they did. They called us when it was finished and it worked like a charm. The cost was better than we were anticipating too. They're located next to an auto parts shop, so they're able to get pieces pretty quickly too. They were really nice in person and are only a few minutes outside of downtown Petoskey. I'd definitely recommend them!
