Spoke with Melissa over the phone and Greg did the inspection- both were easy to work with, friendly, and patient with questions. Greg was on time and was very informative throughout the inspection with regard to what our pipes were made of, the condition of the pipes, any issues he foresaw, etc. The inspection report came with a video and both of these were sent to me promptly after the inspection, like same day or next day. Their report also came with a list of vetted contractors that they recommend, which is super helpful if you don't know anyone trustworthy to do any plumbing work you need. The company doesn't get kick back from providing this list, they just want to be helpful! I also called this company months after the inspection to get some plumbing advice and Melissa kindly gave me some possibilities on what might be causing the issue and helped me figure out how to get going on getting repairs done. I have almost all of my plumbing work done by another plumber who I really like. As a matter of fact, I just had my normal plumber do a sewerline inspection at a different house so it was nice to be able to compare the two services. My normal plumber charged $600. It would have been another $100 to get a thumbdrive with the "before" and "after" video on it. When the "before" video showed that there were not many roots (almost zero), I was not given the choice of having them NOT do the hydrojetting and saving some money. So in summary... no permanent record (without spending $100) and then did a kind of unnecessary hydrojetting. It was not a rip-off... I will still use this plumber for most things and I understand that they had to bring the hydrojetter out which they would not have done if I only wanted a video inspection... but let me tell you how Williams Sewerline handled it at a different house two weeks later... First of all, Nick and Greg made it like I was in a plumbing commercial... smiles, personable, presentable, super-friendly and explaining everything every step of the way. They know positive reviews on Yelp and other platforms are needed these days so, guess what, they do everything possible to get good reviews... good work done at a competitive price with a good attitude. Secondly, here are the more-than-fair options they gave me: Send a camera-only technician out... $275 Or... Send the camera/hydrojet truck out and pay more for the camera-only inspection ($350 because they have to send the whole hydrojet package) but have the option for hydrojetting for another $200. (Camera "before", hydrojet, then camera "after"... $550.) As it turns out there was one teeny root and they actually recommended that I don't hydrojet... that hydrojetting is always a little disruptive and it would not be worth it for getting rid of some grime and cobwebs and one tiny root. (So, I paid $350 but the extra $75 gave me the option of hydrojetting right then and there if needed.) Also, they knew I was selling the house and that this sewerline inspection was something that prospective buyers might look at so when they did the "voiceover" (narration) for the video as they were using the camera, they would say things like "there's a little bit of root intrusion here but perfectly normal and better than I see in 98% of the inspections I do"... They were not lying for me just because I'm the one paying for the inspection, but putting it in context so that the buyer doesn't get freaked out unnecessarily. That video and narration, by the way, are then viewable on YouTube for many years. Back to my normal plumber... some people are excellent and honest plumbers (my guy is and so is his whole team) but their sewerline inspection service, when compared to William's... well it doesn't compare. It costs $50 more, they don't do the YouTube thing and, in fact want $100 to put it on a thumbdrive. William's Sewerline is probably not the cheapest... but they are reasonably-priced and the best I have worked with. Oh yeah... and it's great that they don't sell any other service (besides the hydrojetting) so it's really nice knowing they aren't trying to pitch work that isn't necessary. (Hell, they didn't even try to pitch the hydrojetting!) read more

I hired Williams for their expertise. When they missed critical info at the inspection, and problems started happening, this is what I experienced when I brought it to them. A month after I moved in, we were having issues. I didn't contact Williams because the report had reflected that line was old and would likely need replacing at some point, and Williams had stated they don't do any sewer work. We took some steps to correct the problems, and in doing so, reviewed Williams' inspection video and realized they had missed two significant problems at the time of inspection. When the issues started snowballing, my realtor advised we contact Williams. When we spoke to Jeremy, he never once asked me to describe my issue, or asked what he could do to make it right. He steamrolled us with jargon; deflected nearly all responsibility, even though he acknowledged that his inspector, Nick, did not call out or investigate an illegal storm drain connection to the sewer line; he took me off an email chain started by my agent, only to further bombard her with jargon, excuses and deflection; never provided us with requested documents; never followed up with us as he said he would. Glad everyone on this page had a good experience; to those who are currently looking for an inspector - hope they don't screw up your assessment. read more

In the process of buying a home it's a good idea to get a sewer scan done! William sewer line inspectors was referred to me by my home inspector. So I gave them a call and Bronzon came out and did a sewer scan on two property's. he was early on both the days i had scheduled for the appointments. He was very professional and friendly. On both occasions he gave me an on site walk through of the sewer line and also provided me with a video to keep for my records. $275 was the price of the scan which I think it's a fair price. read more

Hired them to do the sewer line inspection at a house I plan to buy and was impressed with the service. The sewer clean out was hidden somewhere in the yard so they were nice enough to go through the sewer vent pipe on the roof at no additional charge. They arrived on time and gave a lot of helpful feedback on the condition of the sewer line. The video of the sewer line was narrated with possible problems with the line and recommendations for fixes. They post the video online instead of burning a DVD. Its good that they only perform inspections so they don't try pushing services you don't need. They were also nice enough to locate the clean out valve, which was hidden behind some bushes in the yard. A written report was sent a few days later. Overall the sewer line inspection was totally worth the price, which was lower than other companies. read more

I can't speak highly enough about Williams Sewer Line Inspectors, and I urge anyone seeking an inspector to make sure they are using an independent inspector and not using someone who is also hoping to be a service provider. That should seem obvious, and it was to me going into the process, which is why we had contracted Williams Sewer Line Inspectors in the first place, but during the process I got roped into to using a plumber too (long story). Jeremy came out to inspect the sewer line at a property we were buying, and he couldn't complete the inspection because the clean-out was hidden in a part of the yard 15 feet from where the seller had believed it to be. Succumbing to pressures from other stakeholders in the buying process, I agreed to let a plumbing company come out and do the camera work for the inspection because they could come out the next day, and we were in a rush. They gave us a pretty pricey quote, and I called Jeremy for a referral to a second opinion, and he was able to view the camera work video and, not only did he give us a referral to another sewer repair, but he was able to save us a lot of wasted work and money for a very misleading quote. I only wish I had stuck to my guns and had Jeremy come back to two the inspection instead of the other company who clearly was just trying to make some money off of us. This is a trustworthy company. Oh, also--many of the other inspectors spoke to my real estate agent rather than me (sexist), and Jeremy always spoke directly to me and respectfully and didn't treat me like an idiot as some the other company did (know who your customer is, people, it's not the real estate agent, but the buyer!). I found this company on Yelp as a last solution try. We manage a large shopping center in Glendale and were running into potential legal issues with a tenant regarding repetitive clogged lines. We had called out 3 different plumbers, consulted with contractors, and even had our SVP get involved with the issues. Neither of which we could come to an agreement. Upon reaching out to Williams, they were very friendly and accommodating. They listened to my entire concern and were out at the property that week. This company came highly recommended from the house inspector we hired (Scotland Yard Home Inspections). Highly recommend this company. I just went through the agony of building a house from scratch in Los Angeles. Jeremy inspected my sewer twice once at the beginning of the process and once at the end. He was punctual, efficient and communicative through out. He also saved my arse by managing to remove an inspection cap that another contractor had managed to get lodged in my sewer. I then had him come back to re-inspect a few weeks later when the requested work had not been - as I had guessed - completed by the seller! We hired Sewer Line Inspectors to scope the sewer at a small house as part of our inspections during escrow. When I spoke with Jeremy on the phone he was polite and professional. Since he was on the road he asked me to use the booking system on their web site which worked great for me. Jeremy and his assistant showed up at the property on time. I found them to be polite, communicative, professional and experienced. They got right down to it and I was able to watch as they scoped the sewer line and listen to Jeremy record his detailed and very helpful voice over for the video inspection. He explained everything we saw on the monitor carefully and as a result I had a very solid understanding of the shape the sewer was in and what repairs were required. I felt that I can trust their inspection results because they only do inspections and weren't trying to sell me on repairs. The inspection took place in the late afternoon and they emailed me the inspection report as well as a youtube link to the recorded video before noon on the following day.
