We called California Certified a little while ago because we had a room that smells moldy. We couldn't figure out where it's from or if it really is mold. They came and checked everywhere in the room to confirm that there's no signs of mold or leak. They double-checked and even checked the rooms that were sharing walls with that one to be extra sure. They offered to do lab tests, but told us ahead that it was probably not worth it because it's expensive and they were sure it would come back negative (it did), they even did some google search for us to try to find what else that smell could be. This company is the worst! They start off well with the son saying, "we are here to help your family." And we believed them. But they don't tell you information, and they make insurance reports with speculative information. They just try to scare you to get your business. They also based insurance reports on "experience" without testing the site, which got our claim declined bc of their speculative info. The "father and son" team that said they were there to help us, really hurt our family financially. We should have just stayed with Servco which based its reports on facts and was referred to us by our insurance. We made a big mistake by letting them in our house and cost a ton more money. read more

We are so lucky to have found California Certified. Anthony and Richard Perez saved me from making the same mistake twice. They follow the rules of safe asbestos removal to the letter of the law. It took a few extra days but our clearance test came back 0.00 air quality by SafeGuard Environmental. California Certified costs was very fair, but their service was necessary; to know the removal was done correctly - let's us sleep a lot better. BIG REASON & BIG SURPRISE: In 2015, my Insurance Company recommended a firm, P.W. ******** and I used them ($1650) for asbestos removal then; so, why did the 2023 tests say I need to remove asbestos again from the same floor; I have a Certificate stating it was clean in 2015 by the same firm being recommended again at ($5,000 this time). Do yourself a favor & request a clearance test (once the removal is completed.) read more

Had a mold issue and was directed to this place by a lawyer. My main focus was to find out what (or what didn't) cause the mold. Even though we had to do a non-invasive analysis (because we are tenants), they did a very thorough and detailed investigation of the mold and its surrounding areas. All throughout, they were very respectful and courteous and explained things well. And in the next two days, they provided a full report of their findings. 5 Stars for these guys. This family team and their crew saved a project of mine that became a nightmare. I had previously found a decorative concrete guy on craigslist that appeared to have good reviews. Long story short, a 5 day project last 8 weeks and was not even half done with nothing but excuses. Needless to say I fired that contractor and got the majority of money back after threat of a lawsuit. I found Richard and his father on Craigslist and they came right over. They were sensitive to my situation and worked out a deal within my budget. Here is what we had done: I had a raised concrete patio approx 24 feet by 12 feet of wood like stamped and color concrete poured. Then a rounded beautiful steps to a lower patio stamped like wood and colored approximately the same size. They also did stamped concrete on my 3 car driveway and garage floors as well as cobel stone stamp where I plan on placing a future jacuzzi. They guys came with a large crew and 3 1/2 dump trucks of concrete and knocked the job out in 3 days which included some plumbing and electrical. The job came out absolutely amazing and ive had contractors ask me who did the stamping because they have never seen the wood stamp before. People think its that fake wood decking from home depot but its concrete. These guys came in and cleaned up the mess and exceeded my expectations. I have already thrown their names around to a few people. I highly recommend this crew. read more

This is a fantastic company to work with! The work is impeccable, the service is courteous, and the experience was excellent! I found this company through an advertisement circulating in my neighborhood. Since I was ready to have my backyard done, I decided to check their website out and was immediately impressed with some of the sample work they have posted pictures of. I gave them a call and was able to quickly schedule a consultation. Richard was really easy to work with, flexible with scheduling, and made it a point to be polite and understand his customer. I was planning on having pavers installed, but when I saw the samples of the decorative stamped concrete they offer, I was immediately sold. Since my house is governed by an HOA, Richard took care of all the requirements, coordinating directly with my HOA, even reaching out to my neighbors to request approval, and fill out all the necessary forms, all on my behalf! It may not be a big deal for him to do that, but in my book, that earned him a solid full 5-star rating. All of the preparation, construction, and the concrete pour occurred while I was at work, and they made it very convenient for me. Holy cow- these guys are amazing. They're straight forward, narrate what they're doing, answer ALL of my questions AND concerns. I loved that the most other than a detailed report with photos, arrows, suggestions, super easy to read/understand... anyhow- going back- I pointed out twice that the carpet dips. First time- Anthony checks what I'm looking at- oh yea- I see it too- prob the padding. Second time, Anthony said it's the padding prob. Both times- I said- my dad thinks it's the foundation. And Anthony- straight forward - naw it's not that- if it was- you'd see cracks and shifts every where else too like the doors, walls, ground. To top it off- he got a measuring tool to show me! I dunno about other people but I loved this! I'm a nurse- I'm always one who trusts but verifies what people tell me. And Anthony verified!! Richard was really great too. I just recently used CA certified to inspect the condo that I am in the process of purchasing. I researched them on yelp! and compared them to other inspectors on craigslist and through googling. I found other, cheaper inspectors, however, they were not cheaper by much and they had much fewer credentials. Then, after checking their website, I noticed they had a special offer going. They were very professional on the phone and accomadating; he told me they could come out whenever I needed them. They confirmed day of and the inspector actually arrived earlier than I was able to get there. He went about his business taking pictures and at the end he took me on a walk through and explained and pointed out all the stuff that I would never have seen. He went on the roof and took pictures and recommended that the HOA seal some areas, so that a leak doesn't occur in the future. The report with pictures arrived within a few hours. I contacted California Certified because I needed a licensed professional to do a home inspection to document construction defects that resulted from a major home remodel. Major problems had been uncovered in the plumbing along with defects in other aspects of the remodel. I needed someone with the professional certificates and credentials to report the building code violations in the construction defects so that I could make a claim against the contractor and be compensated for the damages. Shortly after we made contact and I explained the circumstances, Anthony and his son came to my home and inspected the new construction, including the plumbing, and photographed the building code violations. The photographs were carefully labeled to document the construction code violations. Anthony has been very patient and did excellent work in guiding me through several involved processes including filing a claim with the CSLB and in preparing for an arbitration hearing. It has been very fortunate that Anthony has been a CSLB Industry Expert Witness. Without Anthony's support, I would have been at a loss to know what procedures to follow. With Anthony's guidance, we obtained a favorable judgement from the arbitration hearing. He knows licensing laws and is familiar with the procedures used by the CSLB.
