We come here because my husband loves this store. Today I needed a new knife for all my vegan vegetable chopping. The santoku knife they sold me wasn't even in stock and they wanted to order it for me but it would take a month. The person helping me with knife testing was kind, but the person helping me find the knife was not helpful. I ended up buying the knife direct from the manufacturer instead of Williams-Sonoma in that instance. We bought something else in store to honor the help from the knife saleswoman. But I am disgusted by the treatment of the checkout person. William Sonoma is about look and not help. read more

I met Family for Easter down here in Dallas and we took a little trip to the mall. I was looking for coffee pots, especially espresso making machines they actually were having a demonstration on this particular day for the Breville Oracle jet touch or something like that it's the mid price Set up and yes, the espresso was phenomenal. The folks in the store were no pressure and very friendly and they made me and my brother-in-law both are delicious espresso. We were sick for the rest of the day. Great, great place. read more

I always enjoying a stop at Willams Sonoma. It's been a while since I've stopped in and I have to say the prices are out of my reach - maybe it's the current economic state we have found ourselves in but 90.00 for a snowman salt and pepper mill - no matter how cute it not gonna happen for me. I love the food options and the cocktail mixers they seemed to still be affordable. The wares are always high quality and def a great place to register for a wedding so you can acquire some of the high quality products without braking your personal bank account. I wanted to share how much I enjoyed shopping at the Williams-Sonoma today. Ninette (sp?) my sales person, was absolutely fantastic. She was personable, informative, and listened to my specific use case.I just washed the set and cooked lunch with my new All Clad stainless steel cookware set. Always fun it is to browse through Williams-Sonoma once in awhile with a friend. Especially wonderful it is during holiday seasons, in finding unique kitchen gifts for those on my list that truly enjoys cooking! Very organized and beautifully stocked is this store. Giggling through while keeping in mind my finds of those silly yet functional gadgets for the kitchen. Saving buying those items till I absolutely need it! Friendly but scarce is the staff, and not as helpful in recommending products when asked. Update: Well, yesterday I left one of my favorite stores in tears. The Employee who caused my distress was quite possibly the manager, her name-tag was difficult to read through my water-works. I believe her name might have started with the letter "P"(?). I started my morning off with a phone call to the North Park location. I inquired about the Plymouth Bird plates. Online it posted they were 20% off, with up to an additional 30% off. The courteous employee told me the additional 10% would be taken off at the register, especially since I was going to purchase 12. Yay! Win! Georgia & Grady (doggers) are going to buy these for me for my birthday, which is in December. I'm so excited about making a shopping trip to WS. While I do a lot of online shopping, I also enjoy shopping in person, it's so much more rewarding, you get to touch, feel, experience the ambiance of the store, especially during the Holidays! I usually pickup some stocking stuffers, a wooden spoon, special cookie cutter, etc. Nope, not today, lol. I'm at the register, about to purchase my lovely Bird plates. I inquired about the additional 10% off and the cashier doesn't know how to proceed. I explained my conversation with the employee from the morning phone call. Another employee who was also at the register counter explained how to handle the ring up. Just do an over ride. Everything is going great, we are all exchanging, friendly banter. Life is as it should be... Now enters Ms. P (?) with lots of attitude & negative tone. What's the problem, she says!??!!!!! There's no problem? When was there ever a problem? With sarcastic tone she says, the plates are $47.96, that's 20% off. If you want the plates they are 20% off. Do you want the plates or not? With an uncomfortable giggle, I said, yes I know how to do math and percentages. I tried to explain what had transpired during the course of my day. Nope, she didn't want to let me finish my sentence. Do you want the plates or not? I left the store trying to wrap my head around this rudeness from an upscale establishment. There was no need to have such attitude. There was not a long line of customers behind me. Yes there were others being rung up...and yes I was very embarrassed. Today some plates came up on my email feed, from Pottery Barn. They are truly adorable. I am going to go take a look at them today and hopefully purchase my stocking-sfuffers. The price of the plates are even lower at Pottery Barn, than the ones from WS, but it was never about the price, but truly about customer service. It's sad when you can get better customer service online than in store. I'm a true foodie, self taught Chef who loves to entertain at Home. I must have had that BDE... In my gym shorts and new flashy target shirt I waltz into this location looking for my dream trashcan....imagine it...in all my glory. Then the stooge of the location in all his glory asked me three times if I needed help with all the richies romeing... i said no all 3 times...only cause I could not find that trash can of my dreams.... Sometimes a trash art piece needs a hole to fit in....the stooge said no. I said...uhhh YaAaAaAs....dont be fooled on my day-off-tragic look. I chose it on purpose bitch. It's kind of a neat store. They have all manner of fancy expensive kitchen gadgetry from expensive stand mixers to cake tins in unique shapes and .... spatulas with Star Wars stuff on them. They have lots of kitchen knives and 20 dollar boxes of cake mix. I'm actually kind of impressed that they sell 20 cents worth of flour and sugar in a box for 20 dollars but nobody has burned the place to the ground yet. It kind of feels like one of those "When the revolution comes..." sort of affairs. The more I think on it the funnier it becomes - this is the store that sells 70 dollar cake pans and 650 dollar mixers, presumably to a wealthy crowd that really takes baking seriously - and what do they do with this "high-end" kit? They make a cake from a freaking box mix. I'm not sure I am the target demographic. In general though, it's neat. You have to be pretty numb to the fact that people are starving in America to blissfully buy a 70 dollar cake pan or a 400 dollar skillet, but if you have the budget and are callous enough - they do have neat things. Yeah - I've never actually bought anything from Williams-Sonoma, but some day I may get weak and pony up the premium. In the meantime it's a cool place to window-shop and day-dream about my future privileged life where I don't bat an eye at paying a 1,000% premium for a box of flour and sugar. read more

This business has the worst return policy. Even if you come a day after they won't return or allow you to exchange. The manager wasn't kind or forgiving and didn't care that I drove an hour and a half to exchange the product. If you want customer service, do not buy from Williams Sonoma! We bought a Wolf brand toaster less than 6 months ago from Williams Sonoma. It is reliably burning toast in 2 of the 4 burners, no matter what the setting. Wolf answered the phone and said if it has been within 2 years, Williams Sonoma should exchange the item. Williams Sonoma refuses, even though it is clear that the warranty would prevent any loss to WS in an exchange. Asked if they could make and exception. No. Period. read more

If you received a gift from a family member and was sub par in terms of operation. Don't expect to get a merchandise credit with them. I have waited over 4 months to receive a merchandise credit and have still not received one. The first one they claim was sent to my physical address which I clearly indicated to send it to my PO Box. They did not. After contacting them to find out they finally replied that it was sent to my home by the USPS. After contacting them with the status I thought I had it resolved and was to0ld it would take 14 days for receipt. 19 days and counting NOTHING. i WILL NEVER SPEND A DIME WITH THEM. Sorry my daughter spent $150.00 with them for nothing. I did follow their procedure to the letter for the credit. The Point there is no returns for even store credit. Badly managed customer service for returns. Not the way I run my business! read more

This is my favorite Williams-Sonoma store of all time. It has moved and been renovated in the last couple of years to be a giant luxury format. It is absolutely stunning. The display of cookware, appliances, tools, cutlery, and home furnishings is exquisite. It is a top of the line store with outstanding customer service. I knock one star because there is a judgmental tendency with some of the sales associates. In my experience, this Northpark location can be as judgmental as a BMW car dealership. Even if you already own half the damn store, they can still look at you and make off comments that assume that you are less than their prestigious store. It's bullshit. I think it's a Dallas thing (this has never happened to me out in the 'burbs or really anywhere else). I just smile and nod- overlooking this one fatal flaw of an otherwise perfect experience and then I remember that I only have about a year left in this incredibly judgmental town. This all comes up after just yesterday I was in store asking about some Staub cookware. The wonderfully helpful sales associate made some (totally random) comments about how I should consider the in-capabilities of the appliances where I live.... Only I never said anything about my kitchen. I have a brand new set of Whirlpool appliances so there are definitely no issues there. But of course, she wasn't asking. She assumed I had a crappo refrigerator because I wasn't carrying a Louis or wearing Gucci loafers. It's okay, I get it. That is the standard client that walks through their doors. This has happened to me here a few times before and each time it tarnishes an otherwise stellar customer service experience. Alas, I'll keep returning because it's the most beautiful WS and the one closest to my home. read more

She discriminates and is rude and an awful person.We went for an event that we stood in line for 4 hours and this lady decided that she would let others cut in front of us.When a group of us confronted her she said she was in charge and could do what she wanted.We tried to reason with her and tell her we got there early and that it was not fair.She then waved us off and said she could send us to the end of the line if we didn't stop. We asked to speak her boss and she said she was in charge and nobody was over her.Everyone has a boss!Between all of us we spent over $300 in books at this store and you would think they would have a bit more knowledge of how to handle things.This was so unorganized and such a terrible experience. If you plan on having 400 people show up at your store on top of other customers, you need more staff and you need to be prepared.
