I went to this location a few days ago to buy some supplies to go with my DeLonghi BCO430 (all-in-one) espresso machine. Wow. If I wasn't on a work break, I could probably spend quite some time in there! I found some Illy whole bean decaf espresso easily, as it was right in front of the espresso machines. It was a bit of a challenge for me to find a basic steaming pitcher, because it was out of sight standing near the espresso machines towards the back of the store. I had to look on the opposite side of a round-table display to find a lone, random steaming pitcher. It was next to things that did not seem related. The whole display seemed like a hodgepodge. The prices are not cheap, but I've come to expect that from Williams Sonoma. Illy coffee prices tend to be on the higher side to begin with, but if I'm spending time trying to perfect my espresso making technique, I did not want to try using anything stale. The espresso beans are glossy and smell delightfully chocolatey. Although I could probably find a cheaper steaming pitcher elsewhere, I wanted something sturdy that doesn't contain lead. My total for both was $42.14. As I made my way to the register to pay, I tripped on a wire shopping basket that someone had left on the floor. I'm glad that I did not fall, but I did do a great job embarrassing myself and making a lot of noise. It would be great if the staff had picked it up before I happened to stumble on it while trying to figure out which side of the box-shaped cash wrap register area was open for me to make my purchases. Despite having my wedding registry through their website, my number and email were not saved in the system to make a purchase. I'm glad to have an account with the store now to make things go smoother if I ever need to make a return. But so far, I'm very happy with my delicious decaf espresso and lightweight steaming pitcher. read more

We bought dishes in store, but they were out of stock so they shipped the dishes to our house...with a $130 shipping fee that they failed to mention. Apparently I could have had shipped to store & just picked up. The sales lady said if we had any issues to just come back to the store & they would take care of it. We received the dishes on 6/9, with a box of plates being broken. I printed out the return label for the store & brough them back so the store could get the plates shipped. I called yesterday to check on where the replacements were (just about a month later) and they said they were on the way. TODAY I get a shipping confirmation that the plates are NOW shipped, to the wrong address and I was charged again. I'd suggest looking in store for the things you might want to buy & go straight to the website for purchase. read more

This location of Williams-Sonoma is larger than its Walnut Creek neighbor, but for some reason I enjoy shopping at the WC locale more. Walking in, you're not usually greeted at this store, although it does have quite a bit more inventory and the front has more of a showroom vibe for table settings and decor. The line area isn't designed well and I don't think they need the spice wall they have, but we love dropping in even though their Le Creuset options are fairly limited. Overall, I think they could do with a re-vamp of the layout but I do appreciate their bar accessories section so we'll continue to come back for small gifts and kitchen gadgets when we happen to be in the area. read more

Love going to their stores.. This one was an average size and they had some snoopy stuff that my wife hadn't seen so she had to get them. The place was well staffed and someone did come by and asked if we needed help. Which was nice. A little bit of a wait when we were finally ready to buy the stuff. But no worries. paid and left. Not sure why the other ratings are so low, this place is lovely, located in the beautiful bishop ranch. They always decorate the tables with the latest seasonal items. Love it. Lots of glassware and bar ware. Yes expensive $$$$ but staff so friendly, always greeted right away. Has the latest fortnam mason tea and cookies, harry potter ice mold and baking set. I was excited to finally visit this location since there's no longer one in Stoneridge Mall. I came 2 days ago...and not a single staff member greeted me, or my daughter. A bunch of them seen us, but no smile, nor did they ask if we needed any help. I use their brine mix every year so was looking for that in-store, without having to order it online. I also have a great collection of Le Creuset so wanted to see if they carried the Fish Baker. I came on yelp to see if anyone else felt the same way not being welcomed. Angie went above and beyond for us as we walked through the store asking dozens of questions. She offered suggestions (only when asked) and explained the products so meticulously. Walked in to check out coffee machines, and the woman who helped me was super friendly and knowledgeable about the JURA systems. She offered me a sample, walked me through how to use the machine, and overall the visit was very pleasant. Coming to a family friendly mall you would think staff are used to seeing children. There was one woman who saw my baby (walking 16month old) who was well behaved and just walking not touching anything, and she would not acknowledge us, smile, and even backed away from us when my son walked her way. She seemed almost disgusted by us/my baby. I was pretty appalled at her behavior. She is blonde, not too tall, and was wearing barrel jeans today. SMH. Shame on you ma'am for making a mom feel some type of way. I will say there was one nice staff member, who was sweet, welcoming and kind. She was a woman of color where the other one was not. May be a race thing too (I'm a woman of color too)...I won't be returning as I don't give business to those who consider my children and myself an annoyance. Consider yourself warned lol read more

Every time I go to this locale I regret & kick myself. People who work here are unhelpful & incompetent. They have this chip on their shoulder & can be dismissive when asked for help. They're always too busy chatting with each other to even bother to help their customer. And I low key get racist vibes. I notice how they're quick to help the white ladies & friendly to them, but minorities are ignored & begrudgingly help when asked. Palo Alto staff are so much better. read more

I guess I should not feel singled out that I felt I was not treated like an appreciated customer after reading other reviews. Walked in and not greeted, not asked if I needed any help, and on the contrary had to walk over to ask for help, but not before they took their time to put down what they were unboxing without any sense of urgency. Asked for their opinion about their product, and they had nothing to offer. Do they even know their own products? Or simply didn't care. Asked for a gift receipt and a box and was given the attitude that I was a bother. At first, Janet (I believe that's her name) rudely and quickly said they have no gift boxes. I found that hard to believe and repeated I *needed a gift box, not *if they had one. She had to go to the back to retrieve one, and then just handed it to me. No assistance to box it for me, or even give me a bag or some tissue paper (which again she said they didn't have any). She also stuffed my gifts in a smaller bag, and I had to ask for a bigger one, so the bag wouldn't rip. Clearly she felt it was beneath her to serve customers! It's a battle. Williams Sonoma vs Sur La Table. Very similar, and pricey. Williams Sonoma offers cooking classes, and sometimes, serves appetizers. Sur La Table, has a better name but no food. So, the victory goes to WS! They have everything I've ever needed or wanted, and then some. If cost is no matter, they have the most beautiful pots & pans, linens, knife sets, coffeemakers, juices, blenders, etc. I'm cost-conscious which is not the Williams Sonoma "thang". After all, I try to buy my spatulas, pans, and misc/odd items from TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshalls. When they don't have it, I truck on over to WS. This is a great place to get gifts for someone, very classy indeed. Location specific: San Ramon, CA (in the City Center of Bishop Ranch) ================================ This is a smaller store, but has plenty of selection in the various categories...you can do some damage. I've experienced discrimination on two separate occasions from two separate white women. The manager has been informed both times. Apparently being brown automatically means I can't afford to buy there. Both times I was told "it's too expensive" when asking about a product with the second woman walking away as I'm in mid sentence. I always enjoy walking into WS stores - usually there just to see what products they have in store vs. online and to check out things I've seen online in person as I do most of my shopping online from here in the past - especially during the height of the pandemic. I began liking this company when I was in middle school or high school and remember I had tried to apply for a job at the one in the Stoneridge Mall, but probably looked too young in h/s. Whenever I'm at Bishop Ranch City Center, I'm almost drawn into walking in here just for fun. There was a time when I went in with the intention to buy something (the Toddy filter papers), but they did not have it available - only online which was a bummer because I "needed" it that day, lol to continue to brew my New Orleans w/ Oat Milk coffee drinks I had been making myself at home. I enjoy browsing the appliances the most. Even though I have my own Breville Barista machine, I still like looking at the ones I don't own, lol. This is a good place to buy gifts for friends, family, or for yourself if you're in need of something. I almost bought a tin of coffee bark or toffee bark on my last visit, but I withheld... instead I grabbed a few Christmas gifts for my sister and my mom (though I would have shared the bark with everyone, I wasn't sure how the quality would be *I'm sure they're delish*). Cute Smeg hot water kettle, Salt & Spice Keepers, Kitchen Tools, Baking Supplies, Dinneware, Pizza Ovens, nice place to browse indeed. Its sometimes difficult to know who is the employee vs. customer here when there are more people around. Usually I browse around on my own unless I have a dire question - I usually try to track someone down. When I was standing near the register, there was a lady who noticed me waiting (wasn't sure where the line began) and did open up a second register to ring me out which I appreciated. Had a return experience that is not sitting well with me. After calling corp they aren't able to provide much solution either. I've previously purchased green tea here and when I brought it back, they say they dont take food returns. Even though the item is unopened - in its original packaging and w/in 30 days purchase. This is not a final sale item either. I think when you typically purchase items with no return policy, it should be a requirement for the customer service rep to let the customer know there is no return on these items. I will likely not shop at williams sonoma for anything anymore as it seems so arbitrary what they qualify as returnable and whats not. You find out in the fine print on their receipt, AFTER you've purchased it. This return policy or lack of it is very shady. For a retail establishment like WS it is very disappointing - it doenst justify the premium pricing for their items if Customer Service is worse than Costco. Make sure you check their return policy before you buy anything. read more

This location is terrible!!! I've been let down 4 times in a row. This store does not respect orders placed online for pick up. Each time my order has been ready for pickup I've shown up to it being sold to someone else or not being in stock. The staff at the store considering the area which this store is located is pretentious and snobby they act if they are doing you a favour to help you. Customer service is almost non existent at this store. As far as prices this store is the same as the rest. But If I could give this store a zero I would. Skip this store and visit the Walnut Creel store they are so much more polite and willing to help. read more

Poor customer service at this store. I purchased a set of mixing bowls on sale, via their online website. Upon its delivery, without having used the bowls, I decided I would prefer a different color set. So I brought the set of bowls, in its original packaging, to this store and asked to exchange the bowls for a different color that they had on display at the store. The store manager refused the exchange, and said the only recourse was for them to accept the return and credit me the sale price, and charge me full retail on the new bowl set, as the sales promotion was over. To me it seemed to be a simple exchange, but they insisted on going through the formal return and purchase scenario. I have not gone back to that store since. Now when I see sales promotions on Williams-Sonoma, I immediately go to Amazon and often find that Amazon prices are similarly priced or even lower. read more

Great place for some last minute Christmas gifts. Large store that even has a selection of furniture. Useful last minute gifts can be found here. Candies, dish towels and other handy things to have around the house. Store has an inviting feel with wooden floors and some black and white checker area too. Furniture department has really good looking leather couches. One rug in the area on display had a worn edge thats curled up. I really would replace that - it just makes one question quality of things purchased here. read more

Williams-Sonoma has such beautiful store displays for the holidays that I couldn't walk by without stopping in, especially to check out their after-Thanksgiving sale. Staff greeted us, offered us a sample of peppermint bark, and asked if we needed help, which was nice. I don't shop here often, but they have great gifts for anyone who loves to cook, along with chocolate and other sweets. Prices are on the higher end, but they have some good deals. I was also surprised to see that they had a collaboration with No Kid Hungry and St. Jude Children's Hospital, which included spatulas and mugs featuring artwork by young artists. A portion of the sales will be donated to each organization. Hope this continues over the years. When we were ready to checkout, I really wasn't sure where the line was, but a kind team member came over to us and said she could ring us up. I joined their free rewards program, which also works at Pottery Barn and West Elm. read more

This review is not necessarily about this particular store, but about the Company in general. This was the store my purchase from this review came from. I have been shopping at Williams-Sonoma for over 25 years and even worked there on weekends for a couple of years. Their customer service and product guarantee, was a huge part of their success and the reason I purchase their merchandise. Apparently their return policy has changed drastically in the past few years. I know everything in the world has changed over the past year, but come on...I purchased Shun Kaji knives (expensive) back in March and had one of the knives actually chip, something I have never seen happen with my 20 year old Wusthof knives! I brought the knife back to the store about 3 weeks ago and was told they were unable to help me (I was going to exchange the knife for a Wusthof). I was told by the manager and then by the district manager that they have a strict 30-day exchange/return policy. I was told I'd have to contact Shun directly. Ok, maybe a year after purchase I would have expected that but not after 2 months! Honestly that is not the Williams-Sonoma I have ever known! For goodness sake, Costco has a better return policy!!! Needless to say I am VERY DISAPPOINTED and will no longer be giving this Company my business. read more

William Sonoma, you really need to start paying attention to consistent issues with your locations. The staff here is atrociously rude. We saw three staff members as we browsed; one followed us while the other two gave us dirty looks. I get theft is becoming a bigger issue these days, but at least ask if I need help while you're following me and/or giving me dirty looks. I talked my husband out of buying a coffee maker because I didn't want one of those wretched women getting any sort of commission or props for a sale. read more

So this is the new Williams-Sonoma store for those who are curious and for those who used to shop at Stoneridge mall. While I tend to find them somewhat expensive, I do love there overall selection and only tend to get something here that really catches my eye or that I need it quickly. The store itself is seemingly much bigger than the one at Stoneridge and since it's a new complex it's extremely neat and clean. Went here and got all new cookware during the covid "Wuhan crisis" as it was coming to an end. I take a drink with me where ever I go (it's important to know). So while browsing the store before our dinner reservation the wife and I are by ourselves on one side on the store, while talking to her I took down my face diaper and started to have several sips of my monster, OMG the lady almost died and became a mask Karen. Well, Karen fcked around and found out I'm not the one real quick. We left dinner, and my wife begged me to go back. Well, "Karen" had gone home for the day, and the manager helped us out (while I wasn't wearing a mask and didn't say a word) because of the manager we will return and it's the only reason this isn't negative 1 star. I will never forget how people treated others, including myself, over the stupid mask policies. read more

We finally purchased our first WS roasting set and Griffendor spatula that IS heat resistant - YES!! The plus on the roasting set is that it comes w a roasting basket, we got 20% off of everything! Thanks to Jennifer and her deep knowledge of the products - she made great suggestions and talked to us to find out what suits us best. We will definitely contemplate opening a line of credit since you can take advantage of a storewide 20% savings on that day including the normally excluded brands!! read more

Everyone was multitasking so well with the influx of holiday shoppers and calls, and Karen was the one who was super patient with us as my mom decided between different colors for a Staub round cocotte. I'm pretty sure we were at the counter for at least 15 minutes and she was the absolute sweetest trying to find it in stock for us, because my dear mother specifically wanted a lid with the pineapple knob. The manager came to check and it wasn't in stock in the color she wanted, so we went back to another color we originally decided on. There was so much back and forth, and Karen was so great with us. Just wanted to acknowledge a company and store going above and beyond. Was searching for a certain coffee machine and could not find anywhere in the state. Called the online store who found one in Oregon - (Tigard) connected me with thot store - who on simply a name and phone number transferred the machine to the San Ramon location. ( the unit had to be paid for in store as the value was high - but they brought in called within 2 days that it had arrived and had me in and out of the store in about 15 minutes - ( would have been quicker but we were shopping while they set everything up. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful - I would recommend this company and especially those two stores to anyone. read more

The stores are immaculate - I love getting new inspiration for unique gifts, cooking meals, and fun decor. One of my favorite parts is that you can almost always get free delivery if you're a member of their rewards program, too. Can't wait to visit again for the winter holiday season! read more

This stores very clean but it's very small for this brand. They have a nice commercial knife selection as well as a great selection of coffee makers and dining wear. The staff seemed nice but only willingly helpful to a select few($$). My wife loves using Le Creuset Dutch oven cookware and this place does a great job of supplying them for her. This is the fanciest Williams Sonoma store ever and it's a fun store to hang around. The Le Creuset rep was there and told us how these pans are great as serving dishes once the food has been cooked. My wife ate that stuff up so now we are Le Creuset fans and everything else is junk. read more
