Went in to check out the foods and I was ripe for influence to purchase but there was probably 5-6 employees working on a Saturday night and no one cared to greet me or help me and the store was empty mind you. They were all congregating near the register chit chatting. Does this store manager and chain pay these teenagers to stand around and chit chat and gossip? They'd be making a ton more revenue if their employees put in some more effort to tend to patrons who are there for a purpose. read more

As you can see, I have made a few purchases at this location on various occasions. Also, my oldest daughter has made a couple of purchases here too. Honestly, it is quite pricey on 90% of their items. Their selection is limited to certain styles too. Let's be 100% honest since I am in my reviews. Every single time we enter this store, we are never greeted. The associates will glance from either the register area or from folding/arranging clothes in the front and not say a word. Twice I have shopped with a friend who has made $250 to $300 purchases both times. They barely cracked a smile with her. This has been ongoing since they opened a few years ago. Now Customer Service 101 should be a greeting or acknowledgement, right? Not here. However, we still make purchases; but, believe me not as much as they potentially could get with a little smile or hi! My daughters and I have noticed that older YT and YT women/girls are greeted upon entering and receiving a "have a nice day" after not purchasing anything. Management, do better. Athleta always has a well kept display of items. I've always had a wonderful experience at this location, with customer service & just the helpfulness that is sincere. Although a bit pricey, I usually save up enough to use my reward certificates to purchase items. Add 20% with a Black Friday Deal & it is definitely a more affordable option for me. Items Purchased: 1.Cozy Karma Twisted Neck Sweatshirt $108 I chose the Burgundy color in size XS per the website recommendation, but it was smaller than I had expected so had to go up a size to an S. It's a hassle to return so I would recommend trying it 1st before purchasing. But I love the soft fuzzy lining inside so I could wear this alone without a coat if I wanted to in the daytime. 2.Recharge Sweatshirt $79 a nice stretchy material in Cream that I could easily pair with a tank top. This can be dressed up or worn as a casual exercise top so I love the versatility in this sweatshirt. 3.Brooklyn Lined Pant $109 a lightly lined pair of pants that can be dressed up or worn casually $ matched with the Recharge Sweatshirt easily. Since I am 5'2" I needed to alter the length & it took about a week, free of charge. 4.Altitude Stash High Rise Polartec $119 I've been eyeing this for a while since the $119 was a deterrent, but it was on special for $69 so I bought an XS & it fit perfectly. I love that it's a warm fuzzy lined pair of leggings to wear during the winter season. My next purchase may be the Triumph Hoodie $108, but in the meantime I am happy with my purchases & the great experience I've had at The Lot's Athleta. read more

Staff is nice, the clothes are comfortable but their return policy is not great compared to other high end work out clothing stores. I bought two pairs of the transcend leggings and the pocket seam tore in both within the year. The staff told me it's probably because the material is thinner, but for the price, I don't think it's acceptable that the pants will developed a hole in the steam where your phone sits. It's a bummer because I really like their leggings, but maybe just avoid the Transcend leggings! At least Lululemon will fix or exchange your torn clothing... just be cautious, the material is pretty cheap compared to the price tag read more

I've been a loyal customer of this Athleta location since it first opened and have always appreciated the welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff, and supportive environment. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have shown a clear and disappointing shift in management. During my last visit, an employee was kindly helping me when the manager yelled across the store at her to go check people out. It was abrupt, loud, and completely unnecessary. The employee looked flustered, apologized to the manager (whose name was Andrea), and rushed to the register, leaving me mid-conversation. What struck me most was that the manager didn't appear to be busy or unable to assist herself--she just seemed unwilling to. The entire event left me very uncomfortable and embarrassed for the employee who was just doing her job. This isn't the first time I've noticed something off. I've witnessed management reprimanding staff in plain view of customers on more than one occasion. There's a noticeable lack of professionalism and empathy, and I truly feel bad for the employees who are just trying to do their jobs. If staff are making mistakes or appear unsure, that's not a reason to belittle them--it's a sign of poor training and leadership. Good management lifts people up and sets a positive tone, which used to be the case here. Sadly, that culture seems to be gone. Athleta and GAP should be concerned. The way staff are treated is not just a reflection of this store--it reflects on the brand as a whole. read more

It's been a hot minute....or few years so let's go and update this review including COVID protocols! L O C A T I O N Athleta is located inside the Bishop Ranch City Center right next to Mendocino Farms on the first floor. So if you're trying to find it, just go towards the center with the grassy area. You'll see it from there. There's a large parking structure you can utilize. I try my best to find parking outside on the Starbucks side, but that can be tricky if there's a lot of people even during COVID. C O V I D P R O T O C O L Folks are all masked up inside. There's plastic barriers at the "check out" counter between you and the employee. I'm not sure how the clothing try on situation is like so I can't say anything about that as it looks like folks can still go in and try things on. I'm just not going to.... I T E M S In my original review, I was not an Athleta shopper...after a few free workout events and a lot of free gift cards and also touching all the clothing and using them, it's kind of worth it. I would highly suggest waiting for sales. There are sometimes an extra 20% off sale items as well as times when they do their $5, $10, $20, $25, $30, $35 deal which can be a really good deal for some items. Returns accepted pretty much any time as long as long as it's not a final sale. I bought a shirt that unfortunately starting pilling after the first wash. I returned it without tags without any problems. That's the great part about Athleta. Satisfaction guaranteed. Of course, don't take advantage of this and only truly use it when you're completely unsatisfied. I do love the leggings here. They're soft and they nicely compress you in the right places! I would say try on several different leggins, bras, tops, while you're there so you know for sure what size you are in the different lines of clothing as they sometimes are a little different even between their own clothing. The sale/clearance item area isn't as extensive as Valley Fair so it can be a hit or miss when trying to find a deal. S E R V I C E Folks here have softened up since opening which is great. Friendly and helpful when you need them. O V E R A L L Athleta has stepped it up since opening. Though COVID has slowed my trips here it was nice when they had their workout events as it helped me do other activities and sometimes there were treats and even gift cards! Wow, not one of my best experiences today. It was like walking into a sorority filled with mean girls who wouldn't help unless you wreaked of money or looked like it. I just got off work, had gift cards to spend and there was a 20% promo going on. I timed it and it took almost 10 minutes before an associate approached me (Lily) to see if I was okay. Otherwise, no one cared. Lily was the non sorority girl type and I appreciated her for it. When I was ready to try on, I specifically went back to her to help me. Someone who looked like a manager tried to hijack my associate and I told her, "She's got me!" She kept coming back to check on me which was annoying at this point because now I look like a legit sale. I ended up using my gift cards and made sure the same sales associate who helped me checked me out. In hindsight I should have showed my love online or at another store. This one is convenient for me (unfortunately). I do like the salutation pocket pants and I like going in person to see the product in person. Yeah, I should have just looked and ordered online. Very uncomfortable experience at this store. I have been shopping only in store. And today they found out my phone number is incorrectly registered under another name. They cannot check my order out even though I tried to register my email for another account. I had my phone with me and suggested we can verify, but they said they cannot. Just asked me to register with other phone number. How can I have two phone numbers? I believe this wrong suggestion led to mismatch of phone numbers and names, using mistakes to cover mistakes. I'm a huge lulu fan, and also shopped at lucy often before they got bought out by North face. Lulu hasn't been coming out with very many cute designs at all, it seems like they are just recycling the same basic stuff that has been overproduced. I walked by Athleta last week just to browse, and saw that they had a pretty large sale selection in the back. I saw the most beautiful pair of white leggings, I have never bought or worn white leggings in the gym but why the hell not? It's not like they are going to make my legs look any larger than they already are. I got a pair of the laser cut contender tights for $68 after tax. These leggings are so beautiful and since Athleta stands by their clothing, they will refund you if you don't like their clothes or if their clothing doesn't work for you. This is my first time purchasing a pair of Athleta leggings, and will update this review after I have worn them a few times. I am very particular about my workout clothing, I work out at least 6 times a week and have low tolerance for clothing that doesn't stay up, pills, or shrinks. read more

Became they were so accommodating, I made it a point to shop around and ended up purchasing a few times in store. Product selection reflects their online offering pretty well. It opened today (Nov 13, 2018) ahead of many other CCBR store fronts. Love this location, especially since it is just across the street from work. They have a generous footprint, dressing rooms in the back, Athleta girl in the front left, and of course a way better return policy than Lulu. I love that they are starting up classes like free beginner yoga this Saturday at 8:30am (Nov 17, 2018; sign up online or give them a call). They have specialty holiday reusable gift bags ($0.10 each for any of the sizes: S, M, L, and backpack). They also do boxed gift wrapping. read more

I had a great experience in here on the weekend. The ladies in the store were helpful and super attentive and I connected with one who was closer to my age. That was a nice treat as generally I find svelte younger women and sometimes it's nice to relate ya' know? I have always had pretty good fortune with the Athleta clothes. Although I shop all over, the only leggings I still have from years ago that I love and have lasted are Athleta. Not the Lulu which tend to not last more than a year or two max due to stretching out and smell. YMMV. I'm encourage to see them producing more options that are not only meant for 22 year old size 2 ladies. Let's be honest here -you can be fit and want to workout at any age and not being a size 2 is not a big deal. Own your body and your life. In particular I love the newer Velocity tights (though they show sweat they are the most comfy I have and do not need adjustment on long runs) and the Foothill Tops. Loose enough to flatter without showcasing the fact I've had a couple of kids via c section so have the extra skin above that line (other than surgery it will not go away- I've tried). So flattering and comfy to workout. They let you wear an item and if it doesn't work return it. Hope people aren't abusing that but it's a great policy. I think I once returned something but not a normal occurrence for me. Appreciate the belief in their product. I was in there for less than five minutes to buy something and had a horribly rude experience (even after spending almost $400 online). I emailed the manager about it and got a cookie cutter email reply to add insult to injury. I let corporate know that it would've been better to get no email from the manager, let alone one that didn't address my areas of improvement. I told the manager in the original email that I was happy to discuss the different ways this could've been handled if they wanted to reach out to me. They did not call me. They just sent the cookie cutter reply and didn't reply when I replied again. After browsing the store and picking up a few things, I walked up to the counter to make my return/purchase. The 3 associates were talking to each other and did not even acknowledge my presence. I have been to the new Athleta location in City Center twice now and love this store. The associates in this location are always super friendly and will help with sizing and finding the products you are looking for. Athleta offers alterations on all their items which is fantastic as I am height challenged, lol! They also have an amazing return policy. If you purchase it, wear it for a workout and find it just isn't right you can still return it! I love that the company aims for sustainable products...very important to me. Those who complain about price, well you often get what you pay for. I purchased a pair of their leggings for my daughter, she is 9, she can wear the knees out of leggings quickly. The leggings from Athleta are going strong. I would rather buy one pair then multiple pairs and throw my money in trash a month later and have to buy more leggings. Quality is worth the price! Everyone in the store seemed so helpful and but then there was the rush to have me out of the store once they knew my money was turned over.. They failed to remove the security tag from the item. Very disappointing as the customer service was non existent . There were some other ladies shopping there who were getting help , but not me. Today was my second visit to this location. Both times I have shopped here the customer service is excellent. Especially from Kathy. She and all the gals there were so friendly, helpful to me and my 80 year old mother. Returns are quick and easy (I had a return from an online purchase). Store is clean, well organized, lots of sale items in the back of the store. Close to parking. Yes there prices are higher but they are backed by a good guarantee as well as return policy. Customer service here is very lacking. From the moment we entered we were ignored, although we noticed other customers that walked in were greeted with a smile and a "How may I help you?" At one point one of the blonde employees wanted to walk past me and instead of saying anything, she stopped, stared at me for a few seconds and then shot me a dirty look as she walked away. I was very excited that Athleta has joined The Lot in San Ramon Bishop Ranch but I'm sadly giving Athleta a 2 star review today due to several store disconnects which need addressing. Also my review is aimed more at corporate powers vs any particular employee sales assistant. My experience: I purchased a sweater and leggings on 12/24 to wear on 12/25. When I got home I discovered the sales clerk had left the security tag on. Not really a big deal, but still... I went back to Athleta today and sales assistant Jenny was very helpful and friendly and removed the security tag for me. Thank you to Jenny! Here's my main complaint: Why advertise 60% off merchandise (giant sign outside the store) when there isn't any? No one in the store could tell me where the 60% off items were. In fact, the main sales assistant for the store was more than confused when I pointed that out to her, asking her to show me something that was actually 60% off and she couldn't. It was embarrassing and awkward to be told "well you just have to go up the the register table and find out how much the item is really discounted." Seriously? There's a reason items are marked with price tags: so the customer KNOWS the price!! Athleta is a good line. BUT corporate needs to do better with its marketing. Don't advertise 60% off if you can't follow through because it's misleading to do so- and then to make the customer feel embarrassed for even having to ask... I'm willing to guess there were NO store items actually 60% off today. Had anyone in the store been able to identify any of the 60% items to me directly, Athleta would have profited bc I need a birthday gift for a family member. Larger fashion hubs like Nordstrom, Macy's etc are sensitive to these things have consistently paid attention to this important dynamic: the power of sales and their promotion. As a result they've fostered a large and devoted customer base. I'm sorry to say Athleta has fallen short in that department. read more
