In all the years I visited my brother in The Bluffs, I would get gas at the Shell Station on US 1 Just south of there. To my surprise this is where Willie's is located. I ordered a pizza from them via phone (I know archaic) and went to pickup and found the pizza to be very good. We had the Meat Lovers which was loaded with meat (beef, sausage, pepperoni, bacon & I believe some gyro meat). So much so I had to use two hands to eat each slice. The crust had the right amount of crisp & char to give a total flavor bomb. The 2 guys who were there are cool and from my understanding just took over from the prior owner and have kept up his recipes. Excellent job, gentlemen! Keep in mind it's located in a Shell gas station, so don't be looking for an ambiotic styled place as from what I recall maybe a couple of tables with 2 chairs. The pizza was excellent! I just stopped at a competitor's location before coming here. I had recently finished watching Dave Portnoy's review of this place, where he walked out of the gas station lobby, which houses the pizza shop. When he gave it a respectable score of 8.1, I knew I had to try it for myself. I arrived at the gas station with my Ah-Beetz pizza in the front seat. Upon entering, I looked for Willie, but I was told he was in Colombia. I ordered my slices, and it wasn't long before my pie was ready. After taking my first bite, I instantly realized that the pizza in my front seat was good, but not as good as this one. The crust was better, and the flavor profile was elevated. I originally gave this place a 5 star! First time I went in and got pepperoni pizza it was amazing! Came with the green oil sauce, the small perfect cup pepperonis, loved it! UPDATE: I ordered it on DoorDash, was so disappointed, I was telling all my friends about it, when it came, no green oil sauce, they had the cheap larger regular pepperonis on it, I felt so dissatisfied. Drove up from Miami after seeing Dave Portnoy's review and it definitely delivered! Being from NY I'm always on the hunt for good pizza down here. The pizzeria is located inside the Shell gas station. I cannot tell you how many times I've stopped at this gas station the past without even knowing what was inside. I guess you miss things when you pay at the pump. And don't let it being in a gas station deter you, it would be your loss. From the minute you walk in you're hit in the face with delicious pizza smells. We were met by Frank who was a super cool dude. After placing our order we were told it would be a 1.5 hour wait. I figured there would be a wait so that didn't bother me. We knocked out some errands and went to the beach for a little. Willie himself makes all the pizzas and you can tell he really cares about his craft. The pizza was fresh out of the oven hot and was perfect. It was crispy on the bottom and that garlic sauce is godly. For a reasonable priced pizza that hits the spot this is your place. Not only is the pizza delicious but the guys that work there including Willie are super humble good people. Excellent spot tucked in a gas station and you would never know it. This is one of the best pizza places in south Florida. There's a select amount of pies per day, very straight forward on the toppings, and no time for bs. This is authentic pizza. Understand the location being across the tourist beach but that whole gas station is ridiculous on prices. My bf is from NY and he wasn't happy picking me up with the pizza. Oh brother, where do I start? I've been eating here/coming to this gas station for years, work right up the road. Figured I'd give an honest and updated review since Portnoy came here, and changed this place for the worse I'd say. If you're thinking of driving all the way to Juno Beach bc of Portnoys review, trust me, it's not worth the time or gas money, and it might not even be open. The pizza is not bad, definitely better then any chain restaurant. Is it great or amazing? No. I personally think he puts way too much cornmeal or semolina on the bottom of the pizza, and way too much Parmesan cheese on the top. It's inconsistent, but still not bad for a gas station pizza. The "pizza-oven" he uses has definitely seen it's better days; it's pretty small, maybe part of the problem. Willy really is the pizza troll lol. I've heard him be rude to people for years, and I've seen him laugh with people other times; he's very hot and cold. Zero customer service skills. He's very brash and awkward. Really fits the stereotype of the grumpy old man. I've personally never had a problem, but have seen both sides of it. I'm not sure if he has some sort of issue, or possibly a language barrier, but something is off. He told Portnoy he was Colombian in his video, so he's not even Italian lol, which is odd bc he wears the horn charm on his neck. People have to know this going in, though: it's not ran like a restaurant. It's ran like a lunch truck or similar to a hot dog cart. Willy is literally the only person that works there, it's only him. He takes the orders, makes the pizza, takes his money, and makes up his own hours, strait up. There is no schedule adhered to of when it's open or closed. There is no menu available online, barely in person. There is no website, there is no phone number. You cannot order ahead. That's what I mean, you just have to be there and catch it when he's open. There's a good chance you walk in any day of the week, and it be say, 2pm, 3pm,4pm, and his pizza counter is closed. Seen it a bunch of times. That's why I said if you drive from far away to say you did the portnoy thing, it's not worth it bc he might not even be there. Lastly, I wanted to rate Willy higher bc the pizza is really not awful for a "gas station pizza stand" let's call it; however, it's just ran poorly like he's stuck in the 80's, and that deters me away from it. And pizza is not exactly something quick and easy to make. Think about it, Willy makes every order by himself, and can only bake four pizzas or so at a time. If you're fifth in line, and Willy has to make anywhere from 4-10 pizzas plus whatever else in front of you, it takes forever. Another reason why my office doesn't really eat there anymore. He obviously is not hiring any employees to make as much profit possible, so the service is extremely slow. You pick the one and then Willie will cook them in his pizza oven. You can watch him prepare the pizzas in front of you. $5 per slice. One slice is huge and probably enough for one person. The pizza slices had super thin crust. Each bite came with a crunch. The toppings were plentiful. The Tex Mex (meat sauce, pepperoni, banana peppers) has great flavor. ($5) Eggplant Parmesan pizza is also really good! ($5) Stromboli ($6.75)- feta, ricotta, spinash. The dough is nice, soft. I think it was okay. This place is inside a Shell Gas station. Don't be afraid. The pizza is interesting and they use very fresh ingredients. When we arrived they had an entire tray of fresh sliced eggplants ready for breading. We had wanted a whole pizza but they said it would take 25 minutes. Next time we'll call ahead! The pizza slices offered were interesting. Veggie with artichokes, spinach, peppers and olives, an eggplant pizza, a sausage and pepperoni pizza and a pizza with pineapple! We ordered a slice of the first three skipping the pineapple. The crust is already baked and the slices are precut with the toppings sitting on top. When you order, they just toss your piece in the oven and heat it through. The crust was crispy on two of the slices but the eggplant slice was not very crispy. It was a rainy day and we sat inside at the one table they have inside the Shell Station's Convenience store. It seats four but most people were getting there slices to go. If you are hungry while driving through the Juno Beach area, stop by and give them a try. It is a little hidden family operated gem in an unexpected spot. read more
