We just had our wedding Friday, June 13th and I am so glad we found Miller's Landing…read more We booked in April of last year and after touring a couple venues and wanting the Forest/mountain vibes--this was a no brainer. Family owned--Kellan, Terri, and everyone in the staff were so unbelievably transparent, friendly, helpful, and amazing to work with. The communication is on point and everything was seamless since their packages include basically everything! Even the small amount of things not included in package pricing, they gave recommendations that were great! The property is so beautiful and so well maintained even when we toured it when it was raining and sleet coming down! The ceremony site is a dream, which flows right into the cocktail area, and then reception/dinner in the beautiful, rustic barn and everything flows perfectly. It's small enough to where people don't wander off and disappear or get too separated, but big enough to provide spaces and pockets for people to hang out in. Fox in the Woods Catering was absolutely delicious and the venue tasting was great--we had such a hard time deciding what to choose because it was all so good. The bridal suite did get a little warm on our 80 degree wedding day, but they have portable air conditioners that helped. We loved the table and mirrors so my bridesmaids not getting hair and makeup done could do their own there. The groom suite is a great spot for the guys and every space is so well put together and comfortable. Our day of coordinator included with the venue, Ashly, was amazing in creating our day of timeline, setting up decor and making sure our vision came to life. Family owned and operated was the way to go. We felt so special and didn't have a single thing to worry about and we had the most perfect wedding day. Amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, basketball court, sand volleyball court, hiking trail, WiFi, parking and an on-site restaurant. Cabin accommodations come in different configurations with most rooms including a fireplace and deck offering beautiful mountain or lake views. We've visited the lodge three times now. The last time was October 2020, and it was great to discover that UCLA continues to upgrade its facilities with new amenities including a tavern (they serve adult beverages!) as well as pickleball courts. We've enjoyed our visits every time, but IMO the cabins are due for a renovation/upgrade. After our most recent visit Memorial Day weekend, I would also warn guests to beware of oakworms or leafrollers (moth caterpillars that rappel down on silken threads) which seemed to be everywhere this time of year. The main lodge had tea and coffee stocked every day, which was so nice. Rooms also came equipped with a Keurig in case you didn't want to make the trek to the lodge. The staff were incredibly kind. From food staff to receptionist to bar staff, everyone was so accommodating. One small thing though was the drinks from the bar tasted a bit funny. Both mine and my partner's drinks had this weird barbecue sauce flavor, which was odd! The lodge is a quick 20-minute (free) bus ride to the village, which is small but definitely worth a visit. :)

Ultimate Bait-and-Switch: Deceptive Photos, No Water, and Financial Theft…read more​Before relying on older reviews, know this: The Lake Arrowhead Inn was bought out by a new owner a year ago, and hospitality has been replaced by predatory business practices. ​As a savvy traveler who spends 30-40 days a year in hotels, I have never seen a property run this deceptively. ​The Illusion: The rooms are vastly smaller in reality than the wide-angle marketing photos on their website lead you to believe. ​The Bait-and-Switch: We booked a premium Lake View room for our anniversary. Upon arrival, they gave our room away. While I empathized with the staff reassigning it to accommodate a handicapped party, the owner used it as an opportunity to scam us. ​Hostile Management: When I requested a rate adjustment for the cheaper, downgraded room, the owner became combative on the phone, refused any change, and tried to blame Expedia for his own greed. ​Zero Amenities: We reluctantly accepted the cramped room just to get ready for a private event, only to find the water was completely shut off with no timeline for repair. ​The Theft: With no running water, we had to walk away. The owner completely refused a refund, forcing us to eat the entire cost and pay for a second hotel out of pocket. ​This owner will take your money, provide zero basic infrastructure, and leave you stranded. Do not gamble your hard-earned money or special occasions here. Look elsewhere.

It was either an easy walk uphill from the parking lot or one could get a ride in a golf cart by Meriam, a friendly woman with a good sense of humor. May, the wedding coordinator, could not have been more helpful or friendly, from organizing the rehearsal the night before to working with all the ladies in the bridal suite and the day of the wedding. The after-wedding food was good, the DJ excellent and was open to playing requests and the two bartenders friendly and helpful in doling out the drinks, including about 40 tequila shots to toast the bride and groom. If you're looking for a destination wedding, the environment is nice and the organizers great.

Through all the changes, Savannah, the wedding coordinator made sure that our wedding day was the day in which we had been dreaming of. Savannah was beyond organized and so kind. She is also so patient in answering all of your questions and meeting with you to go over plans. During COVID she worked on re-decorating and updating the lodge so that it looked even better than we could possibly imagine. If you are looking for a beautiful and rustic wedding venue, I would highly recommend this lodge. Also, the lodge booking comes with all the greatest vendors: For our photographer we had James Tang and he is beyond incredible. He is so energetic and goes above and beyond to get the perfect picture. Our DJ was booked through Lakeside DJ with Frank. He was the best DJ we could have asked for. I highly recommend booking with him as well. Also, Fox in the Woods catering's food is to die for. The brisket melts in your mouth and the potatoes are delicious. Tina was beyond sweet and her food is something that you will never forget. For dessert we went with Espie Cakes. If you are able to book with her, order the brownies. They are the best. Finally, our flowers were through Jasmine Rose Flowers. She goes above and beyond to make the ceremony and reception look the way you have dreamed about.
