We were caught off gutted by the fog and decided to stay over. This was first thing that popped up so we went for it. Very different from what we are used to but has what you need in a pinch. The dogs were friendly and so was the lady at the front desk. The room was upstairs and even though it was dated it was super clean. Rugs desperately need replacing but the bed was super comfy. I was able to relax just fine. It was quiet and relaxing. We got our coffee in the morning and had an amazing view . Great option for a warm, safe place is your passing through and want to rest. read more

The Skyview Inn was the perfect locale for our wedding weekend festivities. Darcy was extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the process of planning and getting set up. We had our guests book their own rooms and due to the size of the wedding and the property, it felt like our own little world for the weekend. The Skyview offers a great vendor list, but are totally fine with you bringing in your own vendors as well. I loved that they had the tables, chairs and linens as part of the booking fees. Sitting on the rim, weather can be tricky, but The Skyview also offers an indoor space if the weather turns. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and truly the perfect day! read more

I guess I'm missing something, but hard to believe this place is given a 5 star. Now, I don't go there for wedding festivities, therefore, can't review on that, but I do go to enjoy a couple of days of relaxation. Since I've now visited this place often, I can totally say that unfortunately nothing much has changed. The rooms are not updated the way they should be, get rid of the dirty carpet already I would say. The bathrooms need a lot more updating than placing a new shower head and think that will do the trick. Doesn't work that way. The sink still has a huge crack in it as far as 3yrs ago. Attention to details is not the owner's forte at all and it's now pretty obvious that it will remain so. Flowers outside the entrance should be real, again, 3yrs and they still have the fake flowers in their pots, fake flowers, even fake flowers need changing after a while especially when the sun is strong in the summertime, fake flowers will fade the colors away. Just buy some inexpensive REAL flowers already, it can't be that hard to water them and would make the entrance look much nicer. Still having those annoying barking dogs come right up to you, totally wrong to say the least. The whole place, the front desk especially does not look clean at all, and the fact that they serve breakfast which by the way I assume they have a permit to do so and charge you the same amount of money that other restaurants around the area do, is absolutely ridiculous to say the least. Who's even cooking it for you? Regardless, they shouldn't charge you so much. What's totally wrong as well, is when you stay here, the owner or whomever is helping at the time, they use the kitchen to make themselves breakfast, the smell of it goes right up to your room as early as 6am, and it wakes you up. I understand they need to eat but you have guests staying here and I am almost sure that no one wants to smell bacon and eggs as early as 6am, especially when it's not even a weekend when that is the ONLY time they offer breakfast. Totally uncalled for. The other bad experience this time, it was quite cold, so we went to our room sooner than we normally would have wanted to, but there is a TV so we just wanted to relax and watch a movie, the TV wasn't coming on, it took and no kidding here 2 hours before the TV started working, there was no signal for 2 hours, 10pm no one is at the front desk any longer so we couldn't get help and I wasn't going to bother even if I could have since the TV should work properly. We also wanted some tea before bedtime, I couldn't believe how dirty the coffee machine was, just disgusting to say the least, so we didn't get any tea as I was not in the mood to clean up for the owner who should take the time to look at everything around this very small area, and make sure everything is clean for her guests, it's not a huge area at all and everything is at a very minimum space, two steps from the front desk is where they finally by the way, after years, have a coffee machine, yet, it's too much to keep it clean and neat. Other places around the area, offer continental breakfast daily, some offer some sort of muffins, this place only offers coffee/tea unless you stay in the weekend when they rip you off charging you prices like a real restaurant, and after all it looks and feels of total lack of caring, and no attention to details at all. The owner got lucky to have this property and it's sad to see how very little enthusiasm she cares to put into it. You don't need much to show that you care and want to make the place look presentable, nice and clean. As far as I now can see having visited often, it's so obvious that the owner only cares to make money, raises the prices as most do I get it, but other than that can't care less about how the place is kept. Even the outside where you can sit and look at the beautiful views, totally dirty both on the floors and some of the chairs they have outside for you to sit on, just carelessness is all I can keep stating. I recall staying here in one summer, 2yrs ago to be exact, she had a temp helping while she was on vacation. It was a nightmare, and I am sure the owner knows nothing about it. Let's just say that the temp was mostly upstairs with her boyfriend then downstairs, the bell on the desk, well, it was used quite often if you ever needed anything at all. I'll leave it at that. There was much more and all unpleasant. But the owner needed the vacation. This place has a lot of potentials; it is an old house turned Hotel but it could be spectacular if the owner would really try to put more effort into and turn it into what it could be. Of course, if you are not happy, go elsewhere I'm sure is the attitude. The views are spectacular for sure; however, they are not the Lake Views, they are the city view's, therefore, if you want the Lake View since you are at Lake Arrowhead after all, that's not what you'll get, nevertheless, they are beautiful. read more

If only zero stars were an option. Business owners like this really do a disservice to all small businesses when they behave like this. Crumbs. Wrappers. Broken (tiny) "sleeper" sofa. Gross carpet. Awful smell in the room. Broken table with a sign on it that said "don't move table, it was just glued back together and needs to dry". Most importantly, did not sleep 3 people as marketed. They left us in a real bind since the whole mountain was booked for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. We booked this room in April for 3 people. Myself and my 2 daughters. They knew it only slept 2, as the guy at the front desk said when we checked in, and could just have contacted us between April and July 1st when we arrived. The owner blamed the housekeeper, the prior customers for not complaining about the broken sofa, and me for being "unhappy with the room", which she said wasn't "their nicest room". I don't think the room is advertised that way online! I reiterated that my only expectation was clean sleeping accommodations for 3 people, as advertised, for one night. Not their "nicest room". That's it. Super simple. Two of the three people aren't even full-sized adults, and there was no way to make that sleeper sofa work! The carpet was disgusting, so one of them crashing on the floor just wasn't an option. They'd already given out the one rollaway bed they have. (Using the term "sleeper sofa" loosely as it really was more like the tiniest kind of futon sleeper you could find- probably measures closer to 4ish feet and might work for a toddler/kinder kiddo. Not possible to really clean it between customers because of the upholstered "mattress".) They did refund us, but that still left us with emergently paying 3 times more to stay in the least expensive of the remaining 3 rooms on the mountain. The next closest was San Bernardino. I asked for reimbursement of the difference which they refused (about $280) and contacted them to give them a chance to correct this situation. All they did was refuse to reimburse and blame everyone but themselves. I'd recommend looking for other options if you are trying to support small businesses and looking for a small, cute place to stay. Super disappointing. read more

Cozy inn with great views in the mountains. We picked this hotel because it was in walking distance to Sky Park Santa's Village. We went during the month of the December and I was very pleased with how fast the heat worked in our unit! We were in the 2 bedroom with the private balcony. The rooms were spacious and my daughter had a blast on the piano that was in our living room. A full size kitchen and dining table were also included. When we warmed up enough to go outside, we would stand on the balcony mesmerized by the views down into the city. Lake Arrowhead village is also a short, 5 minute drive from the hotel. Upon our first meeting over a year ago when looking for the right venue in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas, we fell in love instantly with the Sky View, as well as with Darcy. The breathtaking view and the facilities were exactly what we were looking for for our intimate wedding focused on nature, family, and sincerity. Darcy was absolutely integral in our entire wedding weekend, helping with every detail, but even more so during the planning phases and understood our vision from the beginning - even making suggestion that we integrated into the plan. Our entire family booked out the rooms at the inn for the weekend and all thoroughly enjoyed their stays, the amazing breakfasts, and the impeccable hospitality. We could not have imagined having our wedding anywhere else. It was truly magical and everything we could have ever wanted - all thanks to Darcy and her family. I would highly recommend the Sky View for any couple looking for a quaint but inspiring venue for their wedding, as well just an all-around great place to stay. We had a spontaneous trip with no reservations we just stopped at this place the owners were very polite and friendly it was around 9pm on Friday when we got into the town. She had a open room with king and a queen bed so it was perfect for our family of six our kids are all under age of 8 so we all fit on the beds. The kids took a nice warm bath and cozied up in the bed while watching tv Wi-Fi was available too! I personally loved the pillows they had nice and big . I would come visit again. read more

The toilet brush was definitely in need of being replaced. Under the bed hadn't been cleaned or dusted for a very long time. Unfortunately, the list goes on. The views from this property are unbeatable! I gave it 4 stars because there are few things that need updating. The carpet needs to be changed. It would have been nice to have a full body mirror outside the bathroom so while my husband was taking a shower I didn't have to put my make up on using the super tiny mirror I have in my purse. Counter space is almost non existent in the bathroom. The door was missing the safety door latch. Actual shower space was quite small, at least for the room we had. The check in process was super easy and the gentleman at the front office was great and super helpful. absolutely lovely place. got here after a long day of snowboarding and driving. the owners were so incredibly kind and helpful to me, both over the phone, and in person when we arrived a bit late into the night. i comfortably got into the warm, fluffy bed and unfortunately had to finish an essay, but our room felt so peaceful and had no noise disturbances so it was super easy to focus and feel right at home. everything was clean and cozy. the views really are fantastic and worth the hype, but the friendliness of the owners are what make this place as great as it is! breakfast was fantastic and greatly priced too. the owner of the inn even found oat milk creamer for me because i don't do dairy. the common area for breakfast was full of legos, games, books, and even a beautiful piano. i was obsessed with the vibe! we will be recommending this place to all our friends and family. read more

My GF and I enjoyed our overnight stay at The Sky View Inn. It was clean, quiet, and peaceful. We had a delicious breakfast on their outdoor patio. Reasonably priced, homemade food. My only gripe is that there was no screens on our windows, so when we opened our windows night to let in the cool mountain breeze, we had to share our space with a few bugs. This place looks good in all the pictures but when we got there the floor was disgusting ( looked like it had never been cleaned). Felt like an exterminator. We killed over 20 silverfish, 8 to 10 spiders and when I looked under the bed it looked like I was at a movie theater at the end of the day it was so dusty and there were a lot of insects and wrappers. My wife reserved this place for Christmas Day. I'm giving two stars cause they are trying. It felt like I paid to stay at my grandmothers house. We came in and the owners dogs ran at us, but didn't do anything. She was nice. But it just smelled old, like seriously a grandmothers house. Common area is shared and that's weird because when you look at it, it's like you're walking into someone's living room. The best part of this place, the balcony, had a broken glass retainer so we couldn't even go out to enjoy the view. The room was great, If you want to be transported back to 1980. Location is a plus. I booked the Sky View Inn for two nights during the week (October 24th and 25th, 2022); a much-needed rest after a family loss and it was a special occasion; my birthday. I originally booked a room with a garden view, however the next day I called and requested an UPGRADE, a room with a mountain view. Darcy (the owner) suggested the room with two double beds, which was "her favorite room." "This room had the most beautiful view of the mountains", she said. Upon our arrival, Darcy said she was putting us in a room with a king size bed. Once again, she claimed "my favorite room." When I asked about the room with the two double beds that had been suggested, she said "this room is booked and that we would be very happy with our new room." (We checked a few times and there were no other guests in that room). Additionally, the upgrade was also to keep us away from electrical work being done, however Darcy then mentioned that the electrical work was right next to our new room, however she assumed to know our schedule and said we would be out during the day anyway... My fiancé and I went down into room 102, ground level. Upon entering, the first thing that I noticed were the stained carpets ~ not just a few here in there, but everywhere. The curtains were torn, there was mildew in the shower, and behind the bed the windowsill had caked on dust. I immediately went back up to the front desk, and again, asked about the room that I had originally booked, and Darcy then looked angry and confused. It was clear that she was not happy with my questioning, I wanted to have a pleasant stay, so I left it alone. Room 102 was the worst room that I have ever stayed in, and this was an UPGRADE! I called when I arrived home and spoke with Marcy's daughter Sarah. I explained everything to her and told her how I did not want to write a bad review, but to perhaps she could decide on what was fair. I was hoping for Darcy to do the right thing, and at minimum refunding us for a "so called upgrade", however we never received one. Darcy was deceitful and basically stole from us by charging for an upgrade and putting us in an unhealthy and dirty room. It's clear now that Darcy was never confused - she knew just what she was doing, and I never want this to happen to another person... Had Darcy just done right by us, I would have never written this review. read more

We had a very pleasant stay here in December. Weather was wet and very foggy. The owners were courteous and helpful. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. We ate our dinner in the big dining room and watched our favorite college basketball team while they built a beautiful fire in the fireplace for us. View is incredible (once fog cleared). Very much recommend this place and would definitely stay again! Found this place last minute for my boyfriends bday trip for a one night stay, it was very nice. Only stayed one night in the "hobbit room" (not sure the room number but this is the very cute name the lady checking us in called it), It's the downstairs of the house. It doesn't have its own deck to the view of the city below but you can kinda see it still! The lock for the door is a pin pad and we could unlock it with the pin number when we got there which is very nice but we couldn't figure out how to lock it when we left to go get food after check in (user error I'm sure). But I really liked everything about the room it was very cozy and I loved how they had a mini kitchen in the room! Only downside for this room is if you're sensitive to sounds while trying to sleep beware the walls/floors/ceiling are very thin. We could hear the people above us until about 1AM sounded like kids running around and very loud TV and talking. Didn't bother us much since we went to sleep around the same time they did anyways but beware if you need complete silence to sleep! read more

A quaint​, small inn near Big Bear Lake​ and Sky Park. We came up to ride bikes at Sky Park​ and weren't​ expecting nice accommodations​, considering we were​ only staying one night. We were pleasantly​ surprised however when we pulled into the parking lot, as the inn is positioned right on the side of the mountain facing out towards​ San Diego. The spectacular view can be seen from the lobby area, where they have a game room, popcorn machine, ​and other food items. Even the WIFI is great, considering its remoteness. All in all, the hotel is great, and I would highly recommend​ it over any other accommodations​ in the area. read more
