We had a pleasant two hour visit to this farm. First, we made reservations for 10AM, which allowed us to just walk right in without having to wait in line. Secondly, we bee-lined to the apple cider press and did not have to wait. Shortly after we finished we were told the wait line to apple cider pressing was about one hour. It was quite hot by noon, but we were done apple picking by then. The farm itself isn't anything extraordinary, but my family had a great time nonetheless. read more

3rd stop in Oak Glen. We really wanted to do our Apple picking here because we heard so many great things about this farm. We arrived around 11:30 and most cars already had to park on the street. Upon arrival we were told that the "u pick" apples are all gone . So we decided to visit their cute petting zoo area and do our pressed Apple cider here. You pay $12 for a half gallon + Apple pressing inside the store. There was only one other party in front of us so we didn't wait long. Maybe 10 minutes. There are only 2 Apple pressing machines so if it is busy it can take some time. Our kids had so much fun selecting their apples and using the press to make their own cider. Keep in mind, even though the staff tried their best with curtains to keep the flies and bees out of the pressing area, it's inevitable there are still a dozen or so bees inside. If you're scared of bees, I would not recommend this activity. Bees were flying all around and some even got stuck in our bowl of cider. The cider tastes good. Very sweet. There's a bbq food truck on site and an area with tables and chairs for you to enjoy your food. The staff here are all very nice and knowledgeable. Willowbrook Apple Farm is like a breath of fresh air! It was a nice day getaway from the city. I visited Willowbrook to go apple picking with friends and upon arrival, we had no clue what to expect nor how busy it would be. All the apple farms are along the same road so I believe parking is up for grabs based upon what's available and first come, first serve. We were lucky to find a car leaving not too far up the road from Willowbrook. We got to the apple farm around noon on a Sunday. Tons of people - couples, friends, and families alike, come to pick apples, make apple cider, eat caramel apples, and view the animals on the farm. It was so much fun. I got to meet the mini horse and mini donkey, the oversized chubby bunny, a pig, and a chicken! After seeing the animals, my friends and I picked the apples and ate them with caramel, We even had a few tasty apple habanero meatballs that were sold on site. AMAZING. I love everything about Willowbrook. The staff was so warm and friendly, the apples are succulent, the atmosphere is so nice in the Fall, and the experience is one of a kind. Along with my bag of apples, I brought home with me a tub of the homemade caramel and bottles of the homemade raw honey. You can't get anything that tastes as great as this anywhere else. This place is tiny but has everything you want during apple season! U PICK apples, and U Make Cider! Honey, apple butter, pumpkin butter, and great people who are just passionate about their business and he essence of what they do. Before Apple picking the owner gave us a brief and she is adorable and taught us how to pick the apples and to be careful because the trees are planted 1910! So so the math! I also love that you can make your own cider! It is such a great experience, a lot of kids have fun with it! I recommend going right before they open and start with making the cider first, the line can get long, there r only two Apple cider makers. They also have some farm animals Comet and Star miniature horses, some chickens and a 20lb rabbit Flopsy! I love this place. We come here every fall for apple picking. We also make our own apple cider here. We only made one gallon last year, and were totally bummed after we ran out. This year we are definitely going to make 2 gallons because we are cider fiends! We filled one of the large bags with apples, and that was more than enough to make at least 2 apple pies. You will want to spend some time in this place under a tree, just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It's much better to get here early. Wait times to get in can be long because the farm is small. The owners are good about not letting the farm get too overly crowded, which is nice. The owners also decorate the farm very well with fall decorations. Get the caramel apple with nuts! I like the apple to be sliced, it is easier to eat. Grab some caramel sauce for later on, and some apple butter for the road! While waiting to make apple cider, we had the unfortunate luck of being caught behind some pretty rude children that were about to make apple cider too...it didn't ruin our experience, but I wish the parents had kept their boys in line during the wait. They were smacking and hitting each other and running into everyone around them, it was kind of stressful because there isn't much room to move around as you get closer to the cider press. Next time we will come earlier before the cider press line gets too long with bored kids. All the other kids were well behaved considering it was a hot day, and lines were long. read more

I haven't picked apples in Oak Glen since I was about seven years old. Being that my boyfriend and I will always be children at heart - I figured heading back to Oak Glen would be a pretty amazing little day date. I was SO so so happy that I chose Willowbrook for the U-Pick apples over a larger farm like Riley's. Everyone at Willowbrook was so nice, and although it was busy (we went Saturday), we still found plenty of quiet moments in the orchard. This farm is absolutely charming. If you go apple picking, definitely try Willowbrook first, the owner and her staff are knowledgeable and warm. We picked apples and made some delicious cider. Some info: -Parking is a huge pain, you will have to find a spot on the side of the road. Come before noon for a spot -If you need to use the bathroom, there is a porta potty at the entrance to your right -For apple picking, you wait in line at the front by the sample table first on your right, they let you in and the wonderful owner briefs you, you pick your bags and pick apples. You go inside the shop to pay when you're done, don't forget to see the animals :) -To press cider, you go into the shop first and tell them if you'd like a 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon jug, you pay and then you go outside to get in line by their food cart. Had a great day there today, 10/20/19. The staff made it the best - absolutely everyone we encountered was helpful and kind. They really seem to care about their role there - especially Daniel, Jaycob, Michael and the lovely woman with shoulder-lengh blond hair, who's name escapes me. We'd brought my mom who requires a scooter, as well as her two great-grandchildren. It was occasionally challenging terrain, but it seemed that every time we encountered a problem one of them was there to help us. So gracious and kind. My sister decided to go apple picking so I decided to come along with her! I've never been apple picking before, this is a cool experience. I went when it was the first week of opening, the line to get in was really long. Took about 30 minutes - 1 hour to get it, depending on what time you arrived. Got to try out their jams, Carmel apples, and salsa. Once, we entered in there were a bunch of apple trees everywhere. Got to pick out some apples and go to the little farm they had. This place is like a happy childhood memory. Even as an adult, there's something extra special about this particular farm, which is just one of a handful off Oak Glen Road, in Riverside's apple country. Willowbrook's neighbors all give the feeling of a tourist trap, with some even decking themselves in old-timey garb to attract attention. Luckily bells and whistles aren't necessary here - just an incredibly warm and welcoming family who invite visitors to pluck a few apples off their trees, press some cider and pick berries. My first time here was around last October, and we filled up a few bags of their amazing apples - they have a variety that work for juicing, eating and baking - a pleasant balance of tart and sweet and firm. I liked that if you accidentally picked a bad one, you didn't have to buy it. Next door at Riley's they go so far as to threaten legal prosecution for ditching a bad picked apple! This year we came too early for apples (Mid-Sept), but for $3.50 we could fill up containers with pick your own blackberries and raspberries. So delish, just make sure to wear good shoes, and pants if possible! You'll be battling bees and thorns, but so so worth it. Don't forget the caramel apples - using their secret recipe. And their homemade apple butter and pumpkin butter are pure magic. read more

Beautiful little farm for family picture-taking... Great fun for the kids to pick fruits off a tree and see where food actually comes from. This would be a wonderful experience if it weren't for the inefficient farm operations. Parking is a real cluster-F. As there are only a handful of apple farms in southern California and the window of opportunity for picking is so tiny, everyone and their second cousins are here on the weekends. There is no parking lot so you have to park along the street. The farm opens at 10am. Arriving at 10:54am, we parked about 1/4 mile down the road. There was a line to get into the farm. I thought the line was for crowd control but that seems to be an indepedent issue. It just takes a long time because they give their schpiel about winesap apples and how to pick them, etc. Also, I just don't see what the big deal is with winesap apples - thick skin and sour; not my preference. They charge $15 for a 5-lb u-pick bag. You exit the farm through the small gift shop where you also pay for the apples. There were always over a dozen people waiting in line. I was in line for 20 minutes. There was only one cashier; and she was in no hurry. You would think after a hundred years, the farm owners would realize they need a second cashier... If you plan to press your own cider for $20/gallon, it's a separate line outside. But make sure you pay for it in the gift shop before you exit because there ain't no signs telling you that. We made that mistake but the cashier line was far too long to brave it again for the cider. By the way, the variety of apples used for the cider are not grown on this farm. Update: Unless you really like hard and sour apples, the winesaps are not really edible as a hand-fruit. However, they are awesome in apple pie. Compared to granny smiths, they retain a nicer crisper texture after baking. But be sure to add extra sugar and spices since winesaps are much more sour. For this reason, I bumped up the rating from three to four stars. read more

We had a brief intro to picking apples and then we were on our own to enjoy. Super sweet and personable family owned business. I went last year and had a blast with my daughter. I went back again this year and was very disappointed. For one thing, there was snow on the ground, the temps were in the 40's. Of course, they can't control the weather, but they can control start times and length of tours. Our tour started a half hour late (which means we have been standing outside freezing the entire time). And the time at each station was way too long. All in all, we were out there about an hour and half. Then at the end of it all, they didn't have enough cider pressed for everyone to take home. I love their cider. Its one of the their big drawls for me, but they didn't think ahead and press enough for our large group. That doesn't sound like good customer service. So my daughter and I left that morning empty handed. Will consider this review should I contemplate going back next year. read more

The place is tiny, but it's a true blue family run farm that takes pride in giving people a small farm experience. I've going here for a couple years now. I know the owners a little bit and they are very nice. We initially started coming here to get honey. They have some of the best honey I've tasted locally. Whenever we run out, we always get in touch with them to get more. I've also gotten cider, blackberries, and apple rings here. The cider is u-press, small operation, a bit hectic, but fun. You can mix your own apple mixture, and make cider as you want. It will turn quickly on you, but it is super fresh/natural, and absolutely fantastic. The blackberries they have come from wild bushes that occur in the drainage the farm sits in. They are a bit pricey, but most of the time they are super sweet and amazing. They make apple rings here with cinnamon and the apples from the farm. I always grab a bag as they are horribly addicting and great tasting! I've never picked apples here but have been through the orchard and it is pleasant. Also, be sure to drop by their pot belly pig and miniature horse. While all the big farms in Oak Glen with their bigger production and variety are great to stop by, it is definitely worth stopping by here to check out a small farm for the experience and some of the great things they have. read more

It is almost a necessity to come early on this because we arrived at 10:30 and it was fairly crowded, but we were still able to find parking along the streets. We ended up leaving at 12:30 and it was a madhouse on the drive up with bumper to bumper cars. I would definitely recommend coming early. Now onto the location, really good apples and the atmosphere is really relaxed. They have you go through the description of the apples and the standard don't pick and drop as is with every picking place I've been to. The apples were easy to reach and I enjoyed the joy of it. The caramel was pretty amazing and the cider press looked like so much fun. We didn't have a need for it, but looking forward to coming back :) read more

Everyone here at this family owned little farm was so kind and accommodating. We drove in from over two hours away to spend some time apple picking with our kiddos and were sad to learn when we showed up that we had come a little too early in the season to really pick anything that was ripe enough to enjoy (totally our fault for not verifying before making the drive). However, when the staff and the owner heard that we had made such a long trek they took us to a few smaller trees in the back of the property that had some ripe apples and let us pick a special bag of apples to take home. We also enjoyed a delicious caramel apple and our kids learned how to press some apple cider that tasted amazing. We would be happy to come back in October when the fall festivities are in full swing; we were so grateful they didn't let us leave empty handed! read more

We chose to pick Willowbrook on a whim, it was the first orchard we saw as we drove in Oak Glen. As we walked in a helpful employee explained what we could do. Apple picking and u press cider is available here. I'm not sure how much the u press cider was but apple picking was $15 for a large bag. Although the orchard itself looks small, it was big enough it keep us entertained for a couple of hours. It was very pretty inside. They have a few trees that have leaves that change beautiful colors. The best part was getting to pet their mini horse comet! An employee let us walk in and pet the little thing. The piggy Blossom was a sweet too! She sure made it a point to "talk" to us. I didn't pet her because she's a biter. The apples here are great. Crispy, juicy, and slightly tart. I don't like apples but gosh darn it i couldn't get enough of them! Go to Willowbrook for a cute date. I'm sure you'll get some extra points. Make sure to wear jeans and shoes. There are pot holes and the ground is uneven. Don't try to be cute. read more

This placed over charged me. WTF?!?? You wrote the prices on the bag and when you go to check out they raised the price of the u pick bags. I ended up paying $18 for a small bag (4apples) and a large bag (6 apples). It should have cost me $12 at most. read more

Decided to spend a lovely fall Sunday here with the family to pick some apples. It was the first time apple picking for some of us, and I think we have found a new yearly tradition. From the recommendations from a few friends and from Yelp, this seemed like the best U-Pick option in the Oak Glen area. We arrived before it opened (they open at 10am) and that seemed to be the trick to enjoying the activities they provide. We were able to press our own cider right away, and able to pick apples with little-to-no wait. We got done around 11:30 and there seemed to be quite a wait to pick apples. For $100, 5 of us pressed 1 1/2 gallons of cider (extremely delicious, by the way), pick three bags of apples, and got some of their apple and pumpkin butters. It may not be the cheapest thing on the planet, but you go for the experience and to do something a little different with your nearest and dearest. read more

My parents live near this area and I can't believe we've never gone apple picking in Oak Glen. What a fun place! I perused through Yelp reviews trying to figure out which apple farm to visit. We picked this one after reading all the great reviews and loved how it was a smaller apple farm. The family and employees at this place are so sweet. You get a little tutorial in how to pick the apples and what to look for. You choose what size bag you want and off you go! Definitely a small farm (but not sure how big the bigger ones are) but we had a few hours of fun. My son loved running around and picking up the apples that had fallen off the trees. Afterwards we did the pressed cider. A lot of work for a jug of cider but oh so good. We finished that gallon within a few days. Would love to come up here again. read more

I really really really want to give 5 stars. I love the setting. It's a small farm with a few trees but it's just beautiful. A small little cottage with a cider making station in the back. A happy potbellied pig named Blossom and a miniature horse named Comet are the pets here. It was just a lovely day. What's killing it for me (and truly they should have mentioned this) was that you couldn't eat one apple as you were picking. I mean seriously what's the big deal. My mister just wanted to bite one and one of the workers came over said "no eating the apples until you pay for them" and confiscated his already bitten apple. So I tell the guy, "just put the apple in our apple sack, we'll pay for it." I'm trying to be friendly here. And he said no, and he threw the bitten apple on the ground. I'm sorry, but we would have paid for it! That just totally killed the experience! I've been apple picking PLENTY of times in the east coast, and no one ever cares if you eat an apple here and there. That's the whole experience of apple picking. I understand their policy but they should have made that clear before picking that it wasn't allowed. As much as I loved this place, the experience was killed. So I won't come back again. I'm sorry, the apples here are FANTASTIC but not so fantastic to be treated like that again. read more

great place to take little kids - lots of little animals, really friendly, chill family-owned spot. sadly, apple season (at least this year) starts in october so we didn't get a chance to pick apples but they did have raspberries and tomatoes to pick ($3.25 per container) and we pressed our own cider (absolutely delicious - 10 lbs of apples for $9 to make a 1/2 gallon). grassy place - like out of a storybook, we even brought out a little blanket for our 8 month old to crawl around on. the kids got sleepy otherwise we would've driven up a bit to see downtown oak glen (there's a little village) or checked out some of the other farms. read more

She offered us free samples of delicious cider, honey, berry preservatives and the most amazing apple and pumpkin spread we've ever had. The prices are totally reasonable. We spent a few hours there with our two children and they had a blast! We got a chance to walk around and look at a few little animals in the farm, rode around the tractor, and there are most favorite - made fresh apple cider. The entire experience was amazing! Staff was very attentive and educational during that cider making process along with our purchase of a few things in the gift shop. From the outside this farm is very cute, they have their shops and farm store outside. Inside they have apply picking, animals, and pumpkins. Their Apple coder is very good. Also they have meatballs in a stick for food. To get into the farm you need to purchase something from the store. We did not however purchase anything. AMAZING! Got here at noon on a Saturday and parking was a little cramped but I definitely found a spot about 60 feet away from Willowbrook. Most of the crowd seemed to be going to the Riley farm so it wasn't terribly busy at Willowbrook. We were greeted by Ric, a friendly farmer who was no less than jolly and welcoming. We grabbed our $12 5lb bag to start apple picking. No sooner did we step into the orchard did we get side-tracked by the mini horse (comet) and piggy (blossom). Blossom gave us the cold shoulder, but Comet loved all the attention we were giving. After filling our bags up we paid for our apples and decided- let's press 1 gallon of our own cider for only $14! Yeah...no. It was 90 degrees that day and I believe I got heat exhaustion from turning that damn spindle to make juice. I'm hoping everyone who drinks the cider I pressed appreciates what I went through to make it....Yeah I'm being so LA (that's what they were calling us..LA). The workers here make you feel as though you're a family friend visiting for lunch or something. They're very hospitable and truly care about farming. Their apple butter is also out of this world.. Afterwards we went to eat lunch and got some apple cider donuts at the farm up the road. There's also a farm with u-pick berries, u-pick pumpkins, and a corn maze. Went here today 10/23/16, we got there by 1030am and parking was crazy (you park along the road), we had to walk a far distance, we got in the line which wasn't too big. You have to purchase something in order to go to the orchards, we decided to buy a caramel apple with nuts ($4.15) and a some meatballs with chipotle apple sauce ($3.75). Then we start our little walk around the orchards, by this time of the month there wasn't that many apples. Majority of the trees were empty and quite few rotten apples of the grounds. It was sprinkling and by the time we left it started pouring out. Overall it was an ok day. The farm isn't that big and it gets very crowded. read more
