I've been told that if you like restaurants like Barberitos, Chipotle, Moe's, and Sanchero's, you would like Willy's. It's a tex mex restaurant that has burritos, nachos, bowls, etc. They also have already set menu items like the baja bowl. Each meal comes with chips and a variety of salsa by the drinks. I got a bowl with rice, black beans, and red chili adobe chicken (it's spicy). They have a lot of variety with toppings like the usuals, corn salsa, pico, olives, etc. Service is as good as it gets, and didn't have to wait too long for my food. I definitely would come back here, and it's definitely better than Barberito's in my opinion (but Chipotle will be my winner). read more

I want to start off by saying the food tasted fine. However, I ordered a chicken burrito bowl, and there was MAYBE 5 pieces of chicken total. Keep in mind they're the little cubed chicken pieces that most chain restaurants have. When i got back to work with my lunch my coworker legit asked "Did you get a salad?" because there was so much lettuce and #LACK of chicken. Whoever owns that specific Willys in Athens must be a billionaire because he or she is saving racks by letting their employees Skimp the meats to the customers. Wont be back. Do not recommend going. Haven't been to Willy's in ages. Walked from a local hospital. The burrito with chicken, black beans, white cheese, tomatoes,a bit of queso and onion was sooo good. The chips were warm, very crispy were perfect either way the mix of hot and mild salsa. Only ate half- even warmed up at home several hours later- still really good! Willy's is a really good casual restaurant that always uses fresh ingredients for their food. The guacamole is made fresh daily along with all of the salsas. You can have your burrito in a bowl or they will make a huge tortilla burrito. They have multiple meats and tofu you can use as a base for all of their dishes. For a fast casual spot the staff does a very good job of keeping the restaurant clean. read more

I visit the Willy's in Athens several times a month. Food is always fresh and nothing is ever "out." Customer service is stellar and they work with an amazing efficieny. Two days ago James, Clarice and Charlotte were behind the counter. Clarice and Charlotte recognize me when I come in and pretty much know my order. The restaurant is kept clean and I can always find a seat. Other fast food Mexican restaurants come and go, but this one will always be the gold standard for me. read more

My husband and I had tried a couple other Willy's locations through the years and gave up maybe.. 3 years ago? We went today (yesterday, it's 2:30am as I write this and can't get this off my mind) and let me tell you... we will be BACK TO THIS LOCATION! Every employee was so friendly, the food was great, queso better than ever before, the raspberry lemonade *chef's kiss* it was a wonderful surprise! This is my new go to Tex-Mex spot! I ordered the popular Baja chicken burrito bowl, and omg! It was delicious! I had my own twist to it though : no red sauce on top extra queso instead, pinto beans instead of black beans, and no guacamole! You guys, this was DELICIOUS and soooo filling! I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner - it's literally THAT much food. The total came out to be $9 and some change after tax but it was totally worth it since it was two meals in one! The food tasted fresh and seasoned really good! I went right when they opened around 11:15 so that could be a factor as well but nonetheless, I will be back and I highly recommend! It's definitely a strong competitor for Moe's and Barberitos! It's wayyyyy better than chipotle for sure!!! read more

I'm a big fan of Willy's(100% better than Chipotle). Although I always get the same meal when I go, chicken quesadilla! It's very tasty, as well as the chips and salsa. Willy's is probably the best Mexican food chain, but these workers are STINGY and the food is not cheap. With Chipotle and Cava across the street offering bigger portions and more perks, you would think they'd make some changes. Workers are soooo great but guessing management is probably telling them to charge for every extra portion...sad to see this but thinking our family will be switching it up more. read more

It has a freestyle coke machine, which is why we came, and I kind of wish I could have eaten here. We did end up with a cheese dip and chips, which I was only mildly impressed with. The cheese sauce was really buttery and thin, and while I think it would have gone great on a burrito, it was not a good standalone option. We also had no where near enough chips. But. We go to this Willy's often and we love Ty! No matter how slammed the store is or how stressed he is, he smiles at you, makes conversation and goes out of his way to make sure you are taken care of. Today the store was slammed at lunch with pickup orders and dining room orders and the entire staff worked hard with a good attitude to fulfill orders. They could have been really grouchy due to the high stress but every single employee was working as quickly as possible to get customers through the line and orders ready for pickup. They all deserve major kudos for today and every time we come in. They are hard workers with good attitudes which is so rare today!! read more

Baja Burrito is good. It's what I ordered, but not what I got in my delivery order. I got a plain burrito, no cheese sauce. No beans or rice. Menu states this comes with. I called, hung up on the first time. Second employee listened, said there was nothing he could do since I ordered through door dash. Said they were busy and hung up on me. Never again. Forgive me Willy's, for I strayed yesterday and went to Moe's, and will not do so again. While at Moe's, I noticed they had no hot sauce. When asked, they said they only stocked medium and mild. This confuses me. My Moe's food was missing the love I've come to know from Willy's. Moe's corn and tomatoes seemed less than fresh. Their chicken was dried out, the rice was not fully cooked, and the lighting in that place was just terrible. Maybe the lighting plan is on purpose? Just sayin'. I went today to Willy's and confessed my errant ways to a lovely employee Kris, who warmly greeted me back into the fold. My husband and I love visiting Willy's before our movie dates. The food is really great, the customer service is fantastic, and the coke machine is really cool too. Our favorite meal? I like the cheese quesadilla with extra quacamole and a strawberry Sprite Zero to drink. My husband gets the sinaloa chicken quesadilla and a side of cheese dip and a plain jane Coke to drink. The restaurant is always clean, the staff members are always friendly, there's ample food (and extra chips if you ask!) and I always leave feeling satisfied. My husband and I are proud to call this "our spot." read more
