The owners Guy and Clelia are lovely and very kind people who have created a welcoming Bed and Breakfast where the past few centuries of history and modern comfort meet in a wonderful way. We stayed four nights in the Wilson room and were quite comfortable. The antique furnishings are sturdy and well-kept and the room was spotlessly clean. Highway traffic noise was evident on this side of the house, but I am sure the house was here long before the highway. Traffic noise does not bother me in the least, but if it bothers you ask for a room on a different side of the house. Beautiful historic home, gracious hosts, antique furnishings, and delicious breakfasts. What more could you ask for? We would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends! From the first contact until our reluctant goodbyes, our interactions with Clelia and Guy have been warm and enjoyable. Overcoming technical issues on his side caused by a third party, and adjusting to our evolving plans to attend a wedding, they worked hard to understand and meet our needs. The Wilson House Bed and Breakfast is located in Reservoir Hill conveniently by the I-83 and there's a decent amount of residential parking available. I stayed in the Peach Room and it was an absolute delight. The house is clean and cozy and it features plenty of little trinkets and unique decorations that are fun to look at. Above all, Guy and Clelia are amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I had an entertaining time talking to Guy about his military career and he was just as invested in learning about mine. He also gave me a bunch of recommendations on where to visit and places to eat in the area. For breakfast, Guy and Clelia make sure to note if you have any food allergies and they also check in on what time you'd like to have breakfast so everything is prepared beforehand. This was my first time staying at the Wilson House. I was coming to Baltimore for one night and from my first phone call with Guy, I knew that I was speaking with a gracious host. So gracious in fact, that Guy contacted me prior to my arrival to pick me up at the train station. He also dropped us off ( my sister booked a room as well) at a nearby restaurant and he took me back to the train station the next morning upon my checking out. Guy and Clelia are friendly, warm and gracious. As for the accomodations, I stayed in the Flower Room which is absolutely lovely, immaculate and comfy. The house is inviting, charming, eclectic in decor ( some very interesting and fascinating items!). I highly recommend Wilson House if you're visiting Baltimore. I do want to note that I wasn't able to stay for breakfast but my sister told me that it was quite delicious! My son lives in Baltimore as well as a few friends, I look forward to a return stay. I can not say enough about the Wilson House! My friends and I stayed one night at the Wilson House for a bridal shower and it was a dream! Guy and Clelia were very accommodating and hospitable. We did not feel like guests at all. It feels like that neighborhood house where everyone hangs out because the people who live there are so cool. A few seconds into your first conversation with Guy, and you will only get a glimpse of how cool he truly is. The property is as charming as the pictures. I stayed in the peacock room which was very cozy and warmly decorated. Breakfast was delightful and delicious. Clelia is an amazing chef who prepares everything to order. I am sure that she has heard many compliments about her waffles. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer...and that I did not ask for another waffle. read more

My fiance and I needed a weekend away and decided to stay at a B&B for a change from the usual hotel. The difference in experience between a B&B and a hotel is huge and I think everyone should try it. I don't think we'll stop doing hotels altogether. There's definitely times when you want a full hotel experience but then there's times where you want the intimacy and quiet comfort and welcome of a true B&B. Wilson House really gave us that experience and more. We just fell in love with it. We stayed in the Flower Room because one of the things I need when I'm away is an en suite bathroom. This room also had a little porch. I didn't get to make much use of it as I'm super afraid of heights and the railing was a little low for me to be comfortable with. The room itself was beautiful and well appointed with a perfectly made bed and all the comforts I could want including a radiator for cold nights and (we got use of) an AC for warm nights. This weekend reached temps of 82 so the AC came in handy! I have to stop here to mention the cleanliness of the room. I've rarely been in a hotel room that was as freaking spotless as this room. This room and the bathroom were as clean as if I'd cleaned them myself and that's saying a lot. I was super impressed by that. The rest of the house is large and gorgeous and full of super interesting items that the owners (Guy and Clelia) obtained throughout their lives and adventures. Everything has a history and a story. We got there late in the evening and let the owners know ahead of time. Although they were out they gave us instructions on how to get in and how to get to our room. They previously sent us an email with instructions on how to get to the house in case the GPS didn't work well and that was great. The instructions also included where to park. I disagree that this house needs to be in a better location.I think the neighborhood was beautiful and I saw a lot of renovations being made to a bunch of nearby houses. Breakfast was delicious, but unfortunately there wasn't much options for someone who does no-carbs although I take that as my personal fault since I didn't ask the hosts to make sure there would be a lot of stuff. I wasn't sure how B&B's worked. I still did have enough to eat and enjoyed the company. I definitely recommend this place for people who want more out of their hotel experience than just a place to stay. read more

Wilson house is a wonderful little B&B in Baltimore. Housed in a historic mansion (where the powers that be made Woodrow Wilson a nominee for President), it is elegant and well-maintained. The owners are personable, and friendly. Guy had a much decorated military career and is a great story teller. And Clelia makes a wonderful breakfast. Everything was first rate. I'd actually give this B&B 4.5 stars. The two improvements would be location and white glove butler style/service. The home is magically a well preserved step back in time. The owners are WONDERFUL and catered to our every desire. We rented the Aviary Room at the very top and Guy had the room cool with an excellent air conditioner. The bath room is semi-private, especially when you realize you are the only ones on that flow (4th I believe) and the breakfast was unique and tasty. There is PLENTY of street parking, with a down side of on/off traffic in the place with the most parking. All said, excellent value and a nice place to relax. read more

We recently got married and had a very small wedding party traveling from different states to Baltimore. We decided on The Wilson House because the prices are extremely reasonable and because we met in Bolton Hill and lived near the location of The Wilson House for a few years so it was perfect. What was nice for us was the discount we received because we booked 5 rooms which made the prices very reasonable. The location was perfect for a wedding because Bolton Hill and Reservoir Hill are both perfect for wedding photos. The B&B itself was so beautiful and made for very magical memories with gorgeous furniture in a very alarming, older house. The breakfasts in the morning were lovely and delicious. Everyone loved them. I would highly recommend The Wilson House for how wonderful the owners were, how beautiful the house was, and how lovely the overall experience was. read more

We loved this place! Reminded my husband and I of childhood visits we made to our elderly relatives. It's in an odd place - Reservoir Hill-Bolton Hill north of Mt Vernon and the University of Baltimore. We had dinner in Federal Hill and went to a jazz club in Fells Point and all were just a few minutes away by car - easy to get to. This house is very historic and full of the most interesting antiques and things from all around the world. Our host was warm and welcoming, the food was great, it was quiet and we were plenty cool on a day that got to 104 degrees in Baltimore! I'm sure we will come here again. read more

Immaculate is an understatement... this place is a museum. Hosts are unbelievable. So absolutely willing to make you feel 100% comfortable. Cheaper than hotels, yet cleaner than any hotel I've stayed in. Beds are so comfortable. Rooms get cleaned Daily... fresh towels and sheets. Each room has air conditioning. Bathroom was huge. Our family had a room on the top and main level and both were great. The breakfasts were hot and fun because we sat at a common table with other guests. They were able to accommodate my dietary needs for a gluten free breakfast and decaf coffee. The house itself has so much character with lots of the owners memorabilia. We had them add a cot to our room for an additional guest at the last moment and they were happy to help. Please do follow the directions to the house they provide as it hard to navigate to the location with one way streets and dead ends. read more

I had my first B&B experience at the Wilson House Halloween weekend. The owners Guy and Clelia were kind and accomodating. The house was absolutely amazing with hidden nooks and unique items everywhere you looked. There are a number a different rooms to stay. We stayed in the Peach Room which we were told is the most private. Clelia accomodated my food allergies by avoiding eggs and making gluten free waffles specifically for me. I enjoyed eating at the communal breakfast table and conversing with the other guests while guy made sure our orange juice, water and coffee were always filled. Close to all the Baltimore sights, I definately plan to stay in this historic cozy home the next time I'm visiting Bmore! read more

Had a lovely stay at this historic bed & breakfast in Baltimore last weekend. The prices are moderate, but the stay is a great value. You're staying in a historic and beautifully restored 40-room mansion filled with antiques and period furnishings. I've never stayed in such a beautiful home! The bathroom and other appointments are modern. The host is warm and helpful, there are plenty of maps and guidebooks. There's free wifi and even access to a computer when my netbook's battery ran out. The complimentary breakfast (pancakes, fruit, yogurt, coffee and juice -- and they also take requests) was excellent. They also serve tea in the afternoon and wine and cheese in the early evening but we were always out sightseeing! We had a car but I was told it's just a few minutes away from a metro stop, and it's near enough some great neighborhoods, such as Baltimore's arts center. The only negatives that keep this from getting an unequivocable 5 stars is that there's a freeway nearby so there's some white noise, which we could barely hear through the closed windows (it was winter), but if you're a light sleeper who likes sleeping with the windows open you should request a room on the back side. And, as you might expect in a large older house, the water pressure made it a little difficult dialing in the perfect temperature in the shower in our bathroom up on the third floor -- and the bathtub's a little on the small side. But I would happily stay there again when I return to Baltimore! read more

Jewel tucked away in Baltimore- I recently had a few days in the Wilson House with my lady. I can't say enough about the house. Photos simply don't do it justice. The Wilson house is named after Woodrow Wilson, who gave a speech there after gaining the office of President. He had a lot of his deals conducted there, which ultimately led him to that office. The decor is marvelous, and i can think of no better word. The woodwork was lovingly restored, and everything says Victorian-from the China that breakfast is served on-complimentary and hot-to the chairs in the various common areas. The entire house is gorgeous. The owners obviously took a lot of time and effort to maintain its splendor, while adding unique character to it that informs the occupant of their backgrounds as well as their travels around the world. The room ,as I mentioned, was wonderful. Period all the way with some accented paintings which again inform of the owner's proclivities, and a footed bathtub. It was a bathtub. With feet. How great is that? Everything about the room was nice. We stayed in the Purple Room, which was really spacious and if I recall, the smallest room with a private bath. The pricing was reasonable for a bed and breakfast-I've seen more expensive ones elsewhere. We were greeted by the hostess upon arriving, who asked when we'd have breakfast. They also serve tea as well as wine and cheese, but it seemed the hostess was gone in the afternoon and evening for one of the days, which is fine. Breakfast was quite the display. The table sits in the middle of the dining room, with wonderful period art and a China cabinet full of service for a full table, if not more. Instead of the usual cold bagel with cream cheese or butter, or a yogurt we were treated to a platter of fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee (usual staples of a bed and breakfast), and a hot meal. The first morning was whole wheat pancakes in little hearts with syrup, the second morning was eggs (whatever style we liked) with toast, home fries and a strip of bacon. I can't imagine staying at such a lovely place again soon, but I can say that if I do end up in Baltimore with the time and money to do so-Wilson House is where you'll find me. read more

Wilson House is a charming old house that has been fixed up by its hosts. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. There were a few things that made our stay less than ideal. Although the house is near a busy highway, which has noisy traffic until late at night, we couldn't hear it because of the air conditioner, which was terribly loud. We couldn't see out of the windows because the window coverings covered most of each window, and couldn't be opened. The WiFi was spotty, and since I needed to do some work when I was there I ended up going downstairs to the dining room to get consistent WiFi response. The only breakfast we ate there was just granola, waffles and fruit, and left us hungry. It's a nice place, but it's not up to the standards of most of the bed and breakfasts we've stayed at. read more

Huge antique house that is kept extremely clean. Barely a speck of dust anywhere. Good sized room with authentic decor. Owner and wife are so nice you could talk to them for hours. Breakfast was outstanding. Pancakes made from scratch and are honestly some of the best I've had. Coffee was very good as well. To sum it up; it was a perfect bed and breakfast that is cheaper than the hotels in the area and right near the belvedere (housing 2 of the best pre-prohibition bars I've ever been to). Room suggestion: Apartment Bedroom. While it is on the first floor I actually preferred it because it was the most secluded area in the house. Very quiet and spacious. Also much easier if you are going in and out at night. Normally I do not like first floors at all, but being secluded was a huge bonus. read more

We stayed in the Peach room. I absolutely *loved* the antique decor. The room was incredibly clean and the beds were extremely cozy. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and I was in love with the fine china they used, it made you feel very fancy. I loved the hosts they were very sweet and accommodating. I have no idea how anyone can have a single complaint about this place. Pancakes and waffles were the best I ever had in my entire life!
