We hired WIN Home Inspection for a new construction home. While the inspector was professional and the report appeared detailed, a major issue was completely missed: there was no gas shut-off valve installed for the dryer. This is a standard safety feature and required for installation--yet it wasn't flagged in the inspection. We only found out about the missing valve when our brand new dryer was delivered and couldn't be installed. As a result, everything was left incomplete, and we had to wait weeks for the builder to fix it and reschedule installation. This created unnecessary hassle and delay--exactly what a professional inspection is supposed to help us avoid. Even more concerning, when we brought this to the owner's attention, he tried to claim that a gas shut-off valve is "optional." That is simply not true. It's a basic, required utility connection and a critical safety component. Dismissing it as nonessential is irresponsible and unprofessional. We hired WIN to identify these kinds of issues before taking possession of a not-inexpensive home. This failure defeats the purpose of the service. If you're considering WIN, we strongly recommend confirming in advance how thoroughly they check key utilities and safety components--especially in new builds. read more

My first time using WIN Home Inspection and the work performed seemed to be pretty thorough. Steve the owner and inspector was there on time and ran every appliance, plumbing and electrical outlet in the unit that I'm about to purchase soon. He seemed to be super thorough and even checked a portion of the drywall in the ceiling where there was some questionable work done. He checked it for water damage but said there was none, which put me at ease. He took time to answer my questions and concerns and was done in about 1 hour and a half and emailed me the report about the unit the same day. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. And his service fee seemed reasonable for the work performed. I will most likely use his services again in the near future. Stay AWAY from Win Inspection. Purchased a home back in May 2023 and Steve Kiefer completed the inspection. He reported couple of windows cracked, small coercion on a sink. Water and AC functioning correctly small concerns on doors and weather strip was correct. After a month moving into the home appliances stopped working. Dishwasher was leaking, had a main leak and repipping had to be complete, electrical had issues, and sewer line is cracked. All of this within less than six months in the house. And more issues have occured. I spoke with Steve and no way of speaking with him automatically became defensive and blamed me for doing remolding when no major remodel occured other than updating the electrical fixtures, adding texture to walls, and removing carpet and tile to add vinyl. He refunded the inspection fee without speaking with me but so far I am at 20k in major fixes. Please save yourself from a really bad experience. I don't he did not do his due diligence. read more
