Located in the heart of Palmer Square in Princeton, Winberries is in the heart of the most walkable area in town. The outside has a distinct brick facade while the interior features a homey wooden motif. The alcohol selection had a good variety to what was available and I partook in a local peach cider. Today we decided to visit our old stomping ground from the 1980s. We decided to do some sight seeing of old landmarks and then stopped for lunch at what we remember to be a gem in town. Unfortunately they don't have too many vegetarian options here but what they do have, is great service, apps, and drinks! Mushroom flatbread was good -- a classic white sauce flatbread taste, paired well with mushroom and greens. The fritters were yummy and we noted that they tasted just like traditional Indian style fritters (pakora) -- which we enjoyed! Espresso martini to end off the night was made perfectly and just what I needed to end dinner with. I used to get a vegetarian version of their Mac and cheese a few years ago but now I'm told the meat is made with the sauce already so it is no longer possible. The perfect place to go to on Saint Patrick's Day! It reminded me of a pub I would find in Europe. I got the special for the holiday which was Shepards Pie. It was delicious! It was piping hot when it came out and seasoned perfectly. My friend enjoyed her burger but thought the fries could have been crispier. Our waiters were the bartenders, so they had to juggle between the tables by the bar and all the drink orders. This lead to the service being a bit slow but Lucy was very friendly. We had a great dinner here tonight at Winberie's. First of all I had a made a reservation on their website which was so easy do. I even changed it three times. When we arrived there was a group of 4 ahead of us and the hostess asked if they had a reservation. They replied no and she asked if they were seated could they be done by 7. They agreed. I thought that was kind of funny especially since it was 7:30 and they're ere still eating and talking. She was happy that I had a reservation as they were getting swamped with walk ins. Our sever greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. He returned with them to then take our orders. I chose the pork Milanese while my man ordered a burger. They had tortilla chips, carnitas, chorizo, kidney beans, pickled red onions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese sauce, sour cream, and guacamole. This was a huge plate with an abundance of toppings!! My only complaint was the lack of chorizo pieces. However, the majority of the time, their food seem to fall in the 3 star category. The lunch and dinner menu does offer great variety. And the interior is really cool, albeit a bit dark, with the Princeton themed photographs. They've changed up their menu, so things that I knew were good are no longer on the menu. On this recent visit we went on Saturday and ordered from the brunch menu. The Build Your Own Omelet was decent.  However, the Housemade Vegetarian Burger was terrible. It was flavorless and was falling apart. Some restaurants, should just avoid the whole "vegetarian burger" thing, unless they can do it right. The french fries are solid and very good! read more

Food -I totally picked the wrong thing and having the short ribs with fettuccine because it was wildly too rich. My husband had the salmon and I had some of that and it was delicious. The selection of beers is very cool and they have a neat happy hour. As far as service, we had an outstanding woman who I think was named Alana, but she had martini earrings on, so she knows who she is. She was really amazing. She had a smile in her face. She was calm and patient. She totally delivered making our trip here terrific. We also met the manager who was clearly extremely busy but took a moment to chat and make us feel welcome.
