Got a chicken pot pie, french onion soup, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Steak Fries and Pasta Bolognese. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a huge ambiance, alot of table to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is quick, our food came in 10minutes. French onion soup was the highlight, The mains were not very good, steak was a big disappointment it was burned and had a very bad after taste, rest of the mains were fine nothing great. On reporting to the staff that something was up with the steak they were considerate enough to not include it on the final bill. We even had dessert there which was yum. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place give a nice vibe but when the food doesn't match the standards it doesn't matter how nice the vibe was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Been many times just for drinks at the bar but came finally for their dinner in the seated booth area and was pleasantly surprised. I always loved the calamari here, super fresh and crisped just right with a healthy helping of banana peppers (chefs kiss) that adds a nice sour kick! But the other dishes are pretty solid as well including the spinach artichoke dip and the pasta bolognese (a nice al dente and flavorful sauce). Chicken pot pie could have been better as the potatoes were still hard. The portions are massive as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance reminds me of a pub style, it's warm, woody and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Impeccable service, the waiters are all so sweet!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recommend if you want a simple meal in Princeton. It's never packed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Today we decided to visit our old stomping ground from the 1980s. We decided to do some sight seeing of old landmarks and then stopped for lunch at what we remember to be a gem in town. Why is it that things are never the way they were when you lived in a particular place? Why is it things don't taste the same or as good as you remember them when you are experiencing nostalgia? Well, that's what happened today. I don't remember the place smelling moldy and I remembered the food being good. I had a burger with bacon, Cabot cheese, and mayo with coleslaw on the side. It was very good and fresh. My husband got the fried cod with shrimp and he enjoyed his entree as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would probably not go here again even if I lived in the area because I could not stand that moldy musty smell in the place. It detracted from the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I like winberies a lot during the winter time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cozy spot and nice to grab drinks with a friend and catch up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was amazing and very attentive. Food was good, specifically the French onion soup.

Stopped in yesterday for a few drinks with my hubby while visiting Princeton. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat at the bar, service was good, cozy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My sangria was really good. Cannot speak to any food but it looked typical American bar food. Towards the end, while switching out beers, the bar back ended up accidentally squirting some beer by us. Not too bad, nothing major, but everyone quickly apologized, cleaned up, and they ended up comping us for the drinks. Very kind gesture! Thank you Winberie's!

Been here a few times and never wrote a review I guess :-). Visited with family from Ohio for lunch this last week. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They all loved the ambiance. Cozy pub setting which is totally unique in Princeton[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers and entrees and everything was amazing. I mean everything! The family raved about it. I had the Tavern burger which was just killer. We also had the crispy Brussels appetizer, buffalo wings, Thai noodle salad, and a mushroom flat bread. Our server was Maddie and she was the best. Great personality and service!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A fun casual restaurant nestled in the heart of Palmer Square. with cozy booths and walls covered with Princeton memorabilia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Avery was excellent. The food was good and the prices quite fair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a fun spot especially if you like wandering around Nassau Street and popping into a variety of shops.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking in the Municipal Garage is close and convenient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall it has a college vibe, but the night we were there it seemed like more students with their parents, which was nice to see families reunited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good spot for couples both young and old.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have to admit I like this place even though in my past life we completed in athletics against Princeton.

a true staple in downtown Princeton. We stayed nearby at Nassau Inn and it was a 2 minute walk to Winberie's. We sat at the bar for beers & apps and it felt like an old time tavern that took you back 100 years. The employees were kind and friendly. I have been here before many, many years ago and the vibe & food are still the same - very consistent. the fries we had were some of the best - crispy and perfectly cooked. my friends enjoyed their calamari and we all really liked the spinach artichoke dip. there is truly something for everyone here - salads, sandwiches, full meals etc. Kid and family friendly. make a reservation because it does get busy here!

Winberie's is a classic bar/restaurant in Princeton. I have been here a few times over the years and it is a nice place to stop in for some American food and drinks. Unfortunately they don't have too many vegetarian options here but what they do have, is great service, apps, and drinks! Mushroom flatbread was good -- a classic white sauce flatbread taste, paired well with mushroom and greens. The fritters were yummy and we noted that they tasted just like traditional Indian style fritters (pakora) -- which we enjoyed! Espresso martini to end off the night was made perfectly and just what I needed to end dinner with. I used to get a vegetarian version of their Mac and cheese a few years ago but now I'm told the meat is made with the sauce already so it is no longer possible. This is honestly so sad because it was delicious, but hopefully this changes one day!

All of the dishes were excellent.  Also had a side of Fioretto Cauliflower $12 that was creative though not too plentiful.  Really appreciated that they list the farms where they source their ingredients.  The beers were superb, Hazy IPA, Bohemian Pilsner and Keller Pils.  The sports bar has a different menu with more of the types of dishes you'd expect at a brew pub. It is however dark and less inviting. In part that's the rub here. As much as we appreciated the quality of the food and gorgeous setting the fact that it is part of a brewery becomes somewhat irrelevant. We had beer because we were there but the dishes begged for wine. I'd have preferred a beautiful beer hall rather than the full fine dining experience. Just a bit too upscale for a brewery. I opted for one of their brews, I think a dark lager, which tasted pretty good, though I didn't end up finishing it. I got to chat a bit with one of the bartenders, who was really cool and helped me out a bunch with some much needed water! I think his name was Herman. Pretty chill spot in my opinion, would come back for another outing with friends or colleagues.

Menus of yesteryear and photos of noticeable Princeton University alumni adorn the walls, creating a unique Ivy League ambiance (5/5) you don't find elsewhere in town. Behind the bar, there is a Norman Rockwell mural (The Yankee Doodle Mural) that adds to the charm of the place. I went with the Caesar salad, Nassau burger, and truffle fries (all 3.5/5). They were all a slight notch above average, but also nothing memorable that jumped out at me to set the food apart from other similar Princeton eateries serving up pub fare. Service (4/5) was warm and friendly. Overall, this was a decent meal, but the unique ambiance is the star of the show here, as it's a place that I'd bring people visiting from out of town to get some college town vibes you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in Princeton. I really enjoyed perusing the alumni photos on the wall, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Yankee Doodle Tap Room to others visiting Princeton looking for an eatery with decent atmosphere.

This time, I was in town for the graduation weekend, and visited the taproom on Memorial Day. The location, concept, and atmosphere of this bar is really cool. It is located on the first floor of the historic Nassau Inn. There is an entire wall of framed pictures of Princeton's notable alumni, which is neat to look through as you are walking in. It is a bar, but there is table seating for smaller or larger groups in addition to the bar seating. All of the times I have visited this place have been in the evening after or during a large event for the university. Specifically this time, I was there the Monday evening before the graduation ceremony took place. There was only one bartender working this evening, and he was fulfilling orders for both the bar and the tables. I came to the bar a few times during the night, and it was backed up each time. I do not understand how there was only one person scheduled, as this was during a very busy weekend for the university. I do not have an expectation to be immediately waited on, but having to wait 20+ minutes each time you want a drink is slightly outrageous. Also, they did not honor who was there first and would simply serve whoever they felt like serving. This is not the first time I have had this bar experience here, either. I know things happen and it could have been a one-off, but being that I have experienced this on multiple visits, I suspect this is how it always is. The staff here is not very friendly, either. In a past visit, we were told we could not have a table unless we were ordering food, when the restaurant was not even full. I have never been wowed or impressed with any kind of service I have received here. I want to like this place for the character and charm, but the service is severely lacking. If you are going to stop, I would do so during the day to avoid long, unnecessary waiting.

Hardly any black beans, at least in mine, but two large shrimp (one of my favorite oxymorons!) and lots of shredded romaine, topped with about half a sliced avocado.
