I ate at the same restaurant last year when I stayed at the Hyatt Pl., Hotel last year. The hotel is right next-door and so I can walk to this restaurant. It has an outdoor patio, which on Friday afternoon when I arrived was quite crowded. It has a very large bar area and since I was by myself, I just sat at the bar, even though I wasn't having an alcoholic beverage. I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon, which they kindly refilled as soon as it was empty. I've been trying to eat healthy so I ended up getting the blackened grouper sandwich, but without the bun, and instead of the french fries I got a side of steamed broccoli with garlic. The fish was actually quite good and the broccoli was very freshly made in crisp with garlic. They have a pretty big menu with all kinds of food foods and the one interesting thing that they have here that you wouldn't expect is sushi and sashimi! Is located in a mall next to the Barnes & Noble. And it's my go to restaurant in that plaza whenever I stay at the Hyatt Place hotel next-door. read more

We waited 40 minutes to pick up a prepaid order, only to find out that although the restaurant had received the order at the front, ongoing POS system issues meant the kitchen was never notified or sent the order. If these system issues are persistent, there should be a temporary process in place to ensure orders are communicated to the kitchen. The staff were already aware of the problem, which suggests this isn't a one-time occurrence. Management needs to address this so employees aren't left dealing with frustrated customers because of a known system failure. The staff apologized and offered to rush our order by moving it ahead of the others already being prepared, but by that point we had already been waiting 40 minutes, had children waiting in the car, and it was getting late. We ultimately canceled the order and requested a refund. This experience wasn't about the employees, they were courteous and tried to make it right. The issue was the lack of a reliable backup process for a known system problem, which created an avoidable inconvenience for both customers and staff. read more

One of the smaller locations or at least it feels like it. They have a ton of tv's throughout the entire restaurant so you are able to watch multiple sporting events. Wednesdays are half priced sangria, the servers are very nice and they seem to handle the crowd that they get well! read more

Came by during happy hour on a Monday and was blessed by having Emily as my bartender. She was quick, pleasant and was able to carry a conversation. She recommended me a few drink options based on what I mentioned I liked and I ended up trying both the spicy mango margarita and the strawberry Coconut margarita. Both I would recommend. read more

I've been to several other Tommy's locations but never been to the Princeton one. It was easy to find but you have to search around for parking. We were a party of 4 adults and one child. The wait was only 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering it was super busy and we didn't have a reservation. The staff was very accommodating since we had a baby who needed a little booster chair. For appetizers we had the hot honey chicken bites and the spinach artichoke dip. It came out pretty fast considering how busy it was and of course it was delicious! Surprising the hot honey chicken was pretty spicy which was unexpected but it was good. For main we got the Donatello white pizza and I got the Bacon Swiss burger. The Donatello pizza was really good but the balsamic was a little too heavy I felt like I could only taste the balsamic and nothing else. The burger was really good it wasn't dry at all. The portion was really big I actually had to pack the other half for lunch the next day! Since my birthday was coming up we told our waiter and with our lava cake dessert we got some ice cream and a little candle which was a sweet surprise. Overall this was a great meal and overall experience. Since it was a Thursday night it was very packed and loud inside. Perfect spot for Girls Night Out! It was a Saturday night and packed for Final Four, plus there was a mini wait, but we were seated within ten minutes. The service was pretty good considering. Our table tried a ton of things: Sushi Nachos, Fried Cauliflower, French Onion Soup, Korean BBQ Tacos, Shrimp Cobb Salad, etc. The Korean (Bulgogi) Tacos were fab!!! Went for happy hour on a Friday. Unfortunately there was no parking near the entrance, but I found a spot near the theater. I found a seat at the bar, as happy hour only applies while at the bar. Ordered the spicy tuna roll and the white sangria. Service was fast and easy. The bartender was very attentive, sangria was tasty. I definitely enjoyed the tuna roll. Super tasty! We went for lunch and there was basically no one there, so our food came out fast. For appetizers we got the mediterranean platter which was amazing, and my dad got (and ate all of) the meatballs. For my entree i got the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was huge but super yummy. I have had better sweet potato fries in the past but these were solid (and i still ate them obviouslyyy). My dad had regular fries which were perfectly crispy and salty. 5 star staff. Upon walking in, I was greeted and seated immediately. It was a pretty busy night, yet very clean and orderly. Our waiter, Saul, was so attentive and available. He not only assisted with suggestions on food and cocktails, but automatically refilled our water glasses without us having to ask. I believe the manager's name was Kayla, who was also extremely friendly, who also checked in on us. Customer service here is amazing. We tried the 50/50 shrimp and calamari which was so good and flavorful. We also had both spicy margarita choices and a pizza. I rate the food 9/10, service 10/10, ambience 8/10 and drinks 8/10. My wife and I went here on a Saturday night. When we arrived there were some people waiting and we thought it would be a long wait. We were wrong. We were seated right away. If you see my other reviews you'll see we've been to Tommy's many times and it's my go to restaurant. Never been disappointed by the food, service or the management. We always have a manager stop by the table and check on us. Please don't be shy and talk to them. Our Waitress Kelsey came over right away and took our drink orders. My Asbury Park Blonde came out nice and cold. My wife gets Moscato and loves it. We ordered taquitos and they were delicious. So much flavor. We also got the wings and they were super delicious. They were the size of a chicken leg. Lots of meat on each one. They came with 3 sauces. We orders the short rib grilled cheese and Christmas Rolls for dinner. The grilled cheese was great!! Lots of meat and cheese. The bread was perfect. The sauce made the sandwich just go a step higher. The fries are unbelievable. This sandwich is a fall special. Get it while it's there. The food here is good, but the ordering system is so flaky and unreliable that I am done ordering from here. We used to get takeout from Tommy's every week or two on the weekend. Their website used to work. Now, half of the time, we put in an order, show up, and they mysteriously never received the order. Today they claimed that "they had received it at the front, but the kitchen had never received it at the back." They hadn't even started making it. A place this slammed needs a functional ordering system. I have no idea what happened, but I am done wasting my time with a restaurant that clearly does not respect my time enough to address this issue despite it going on for months and months, and having been informed of it multiple times. Save yourself the hassle and take yourself that hasn't been enshittified and that gives a crap about wasting your time and taking your money without giving you basic respect in return. read more

Nice place to get some pizza and drinks in the Princeton area. Inside is spacious. Plenty of tables and booths so it's a good place for groups. They got a few TVs on the wall to watch a game. A lot of variety on the menu. They got pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and even sushi. Didn't expect that. My friends and I had a pizza craving so we got the della valle, San Danielle, and Milano. They were all good. Nice thin crusts. I liked how fresh the tomato sauce tasted. My fav was probably the della valle, I liked the meats. Service was good. Friendly staff. I have been going to Tommys for 3 years now, in Mt Laurel. Generally go there after work for a beer. Excellent place. Went to princeton location. Service was not good. The manager was very kind and talked to me and we had a conversation. The server was a person named Brian who was a total jerk. All I asked him was to top off my beers. And after that he said he did not understand and got annoyed. After that he purposely did not pay attention to me. He took extra time talking to all the americans at the bar as well as the waitresses taking the booth order but ignored me. Hope Tommys Princeton reads this review and at least talks to him about it. Also even though he was bad I still gave a 20% tip. Hopefully will be distributed. read more

Overall, it was a great experience. The food was delicious. I ordered the meat pizza which included sausage and pepperoni and it was delightful. It had great flavor and was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered a turkey burger and she stated that it lacked flavor and excitement. We also tried the firecracker shrimp and calamari which was good however, it could've used more spice. And lastly, for dessert we tried the apple crisp and we were very disappointed. The crust was very grainy and the amount of apples was very minimal. The service was decent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly however, she had a bad habit of removing plates and drinks from the table prior to us being finished. The ambiance was good as normal. We've never ever had a bad or even subpar meal at Tommy's. The French onion soup is exceptional (it comes with those frizzled onions on it so if you don't like those make sure you tell them to omit). We are frequent fliers and go every weekend. The bar always has great drinks and the drink specials are eclectic and totally work . Giana is a great bartender. It gets pretty loud in there when it's a full house so not a place I'd recommend for a quiet romantic meal but absolutely for anything else! read more

The food was great. They had a large menu with things like burgers, other sandwiches, tons of different pizzas including Stromboli and calzones, and also sushi and poke bowls! My only issue with the menu was that there weren't many unique vegetarian options but they did have salads and 2 different veggie burgers in addition to margarita pizza/calzones/stromboli. The restaurant was low lit but had tvs everywhere and was pretty loud. The people working were very friendly and nice. One of the managers, Kim, must have heard us talking about the US open because she came over and offered to help us in any way and when we asked to change a tv to tennis, she did it immediately! Avoid like the absolute plague. This actually used to be one of my favorite local Princeton spots. Good appetizers & grub, Mets & NFL on the TV, decent music -- hard to complain. This was a few years back when they opened. I went for lunch yesterday and have literally been sick today multiple times. It has gone that downhill. Be wary of the endless 5 star reviews on here. Five????? In the best of times, it was a cool casual chain restaurant with typical Happy Hour appetizers & pub grub type fare. Nowhere near 5 stars. The endless glowing reviews are sketch. The cheese curds I ordered yesterday -- my go to -- came with overly thick, extremely cold "marinara sauce" that appeared to be dumped straight out of a Ragu jar from the Shop Rite on Route 1. What used to accompany the cheese curds was a spicy, tasty, creamy Chipotle Ranch sauce that paired with the fried cheesy goodness perfectly. The marinara sauce was overly thick, cold & nearly inedible. First detectable change & we were not off to a good start. The Loaded Nachos used to come with melted shredded cheese. This had been replaced with, to my great dismay, the coldest, most gelatinous, unappetizing cheese sauce I have ever been served at a sit down restaurant in my life. I could barely look at it, much less attempt to eat it. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was not even 2% cheese and was not creamy at all. It was cold, clumpy and tasted like someone had pulled up all the grass they could find within the Market Fair parking lot and had unceremoniously dumped it into what was supposed to be my dip. Warm, bubbly, cheesy, creamy, savory & delectable this was not. The only thing that was edible was the English Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding which was as good as it ever was. 1 out of 4 is bad which leads us to our 1 star rating. I beg of you...go anywhere else. Hell, go to Quakerbridge Mall. Go to the ramen place at Mercer Mall. Go to Downtown Princeton. Hell, On The Border would have been better than this absolute utter dreck. Do NOT go to Tommys Tavern & Tap! I have a coagulated brick in the pit of my stomach. I will spare you the TMI and wont elaborate further. Save yourself! Do NOT eat here! read more

I see all the glowing reviews, and I'm more than willing to admit that maybe I'm wrong here, but I'm just not a fan. We have Happy Hours after work on a semi-regular basis, and due to it's convenient location on Route 1, Tommy's is in our regular rotation. Besides the relentless roar the high ceilings and smooth, hard walls create inside even when things are not busy, O\over the years, I've seen a consistent decline in both food quality and service. While I was never terribly enamoured with the menu, most things served as at least decent material for sponging up the drinks. Now? Much of the fare is just awful. The taquitos are greasy & underfilled, the Kung Pao dumplings were gummy and flavorless, and the wings were gristly and TINY. The pretzel was still good, but it's pretty hard to screw up a pretzel. Equally disheartening was the fact that the staff absolutely did not care even a tiny bit. My final nail in the coffin is their policy of not allowing groups to be seated in bar before dinner time, even when there are 12-15 of us. So instead of comfortably sitting (and inevitability ordering more food and drink), we end up crammed around the bar, much to the obvious chagrin to servers trying to weave through the area with loaded trays. This would be so easy to fix, yet they consistently refuse to do so. My enjoyment of my coworkers beats out my disdain for Tommy's, but I'll continue to lobby for the Brick House instead when we're asked for suggestions. read more

When you're in a group and everyone has different opinions of where you're gonna go, Tommy's Tavern is the result. Not a bad pick as it has a sizable menu to satisfy everyone and that it did. About a 20 minute wait on a Saturday night isn't too bad and it is surrounded by the mall so it's a bit expected. We sat outside on a nice summer evening so if you can take advantage of that as there only about 6 tables outside. The indoor seating is more spacious though. To start we got the crispy Brussel sprouts, a favorite of mine when on an appetizer list. Let me tell you, I think these were some of the best I've had. Honey mustard sauce, smoked bacon & roasted shallots. it was very, very good. Definitely recommend. I was looking to save money otherwise I would've dove into some of the more heavier entrees. So I settled on the Bulgogi Korean Tacos. I felt they skimped out on the cilantro and kimchi, but they sure went heavy on the kimchi fried rice. As a result I was let down by the tacos. I had a Cucumber Collins which was pretty good so props in the drink department. Overall it's like a Friday's +1 with 7 locations. I think it's strong suits showed - Great appetizers and drinks, took a dive with the entrée. So I'd definitely come and do that particularly on a gameday or other event. I'd say 3.5 stars. read more

Extremely yummy food and fast service! Came on a Saturday at 6pm for two and got seated right away and was served food about ten to fifteen minutes later. Pictured is the caesar salad which was very crisp and fresh with an amazing thick caesar dressing, the Tempura Dragon roll which was an amazing combination of spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the truffle fries which had the right amount of truffle flavor. Nice ambience, looks a bit like Brick House decoration-wise, the staff is friendly, and the food is pretty good. I went with some colleagues and ordered the blackened mahi sandwich with truffle fries, all of which I enjoyed. The fish had a good amount of flavor from the blackened seasoning, but was still nice and light. The fries were good, but I'm not sure I tasted too much truffle in the seasoning. Overall not a bad place for lunch, would go back to try other things. Their menu is very extensive and also includes pizza and sushi. Not sure about sushi, but I was definitely considering the pizza. read more
