The espresso had floral notes with hints of citrus and fruit coming through, and it's a really enjoyable cup even by itself. I also ordered the chaggachino. It was on the sweeter side for me (I don't like my drinks too sweet), but still very delicious. Creamy, rich, and comforting without completely overpowering the coffee flavors underneath. We also got the ham and cheese croissant, which was nicely warm, buttery and crisp on the outside and good proportion of cheese and ham. Mai specializes in Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks, along with a selection of baked goods. My recommendation is to stick with what they do best: coffee and matcha. If you're a fan of dark roast coffee with a strong, bold flavor, you'll probably love their drinks. I tried the Banana Coffee, which was excellent and easily my favorite item of the visit. I also ordered the Mochi Mango drink, which unfortunately wasn't for me. I'd give it about a 2.5/5. The mochi texture felt off, and the mango flavor tasted more like syrup than real mango. That said, I'm comparing it to a version I've had at another boba shop that I personally enjoyed more. This interaction in its full entirety lasted about 10 minutes from walk-in, to waiting, and leaving. It was a pretty uncomfortable situation, and kind of disappointing, as the girls making the drinks not only rolled their eyes and let out sighs while simply making our drinks, messing up one of them up and saying "oh well" and continued to make faces. Which is fine, I didn't ask for it be remade since I didn't want to further interact with the women during this closing shift in this establishment as to not want to feel anymore uncomfortable as we had been with the treatment from the staff. Along with the service not being the greatest, the food item we had ordered Pad See Ew, ended up containing quite a few pieces of meat that we weren't anticipating, considering one of us doesn't eat meat, it unfortunately caused pretty bad stomach issues. We hope that maybe we had just caught an off day with the staff and this isn't the usual service, but as it was our first time at this establishment, it will more than likely be our last.
