Bright lights... late night grocery shopping at it's finest... My lova and I headed out for a near-to-midnight curiosity jaunt to this spot, just to see if the SHTF what we're in for... I gotta say, most of the stuff we buy is cheaper at TJ's and oh what a more pleasant way to go. The staff was actually super nice, and I just tried to look the other way when it came to the customers, hey, why NOT leave your house in curlers and your pj's at 11:30pm on a Thursday night.. They do have some organics, which is cool, and they had awesome prices on some of their teas etc... but I think I'm down with spending a little more to get a little more.. for now..... read more

This is our household's go-to grocery store. The quality of the produce and deli are good for the awesomely cheap price. The bakery is astounding. I recommend their Marble Rye Bread. I am writing this in hopes that management takes customer interactions in to account when addressing customer service. I am a loyal Winco shopper due to the fair prices and local convenience. However, one aspect of this store that is less than desirable is the customer service, and specifically the cashiers. I just had the worst experience, hands down, while using the self check out, due to the employee running the area. I had forgotten that Winco does not accept credit cards and unfortunately did not have enough money on me to cover my $11 bill without the credit card. I asked the employee to void my transaction so I could step to the side and transfer money from a savings to a debit account. She obliged to the void, asking me very little. I stated that I simply forgot they do not accept credit cards, and wanted to put my stuff to the side so others in line were not waiting on me. When I reached to pull my items out of my bag and back in to the basket so I would not look as though I was trying to fake a purchase or steal from the store. She very forcibly grabbed my bags from me and left without making any attempt to empathize with my situation. I was so offended by the implied thought that I was not being an honest customer that I left the store in tears and no dinner. It is very shameful. I am a full time college student, I live on my own and am responsible for my own bills. To feel as though others think I have to steal groceries is hurtful and embarrassing. I am considering never shopping here due to the inconsiderate cashier. I work in retail as a customer service associate and am very disappointed in the way I was treated. It was already embarrassing enough to have my debit declined, but to my treated as a thief crossed a line. read more

WinCo is great for CHEAP and good people watching. I would suggest for lesser crowds going in the early morning. I hit this place up for bulk spices, bulk pine nuts (cheapest you will find), cheese and any other spendy items. Their bakery isn't bad either, the bagels are pretty good. read more

Ok so i gotta say i always shop at winco only for one particular reason, its the cheapest grocery store that i have been to.....if i shop at safeway i leave spending 40 dollars with two bags in my hand on the other hand if i shop at winco i get a whole lot more for my money.......... The worst thing about shopping at winco is crazy busy it usually always is....(i swear its like goin to the mall on black friday). usually it takes forever to get out of there cuz you also have to bag your own items... I found a solution.....if you shop at winco at the very end of the month its super slow cuz people wait till the beggining of the month to go shopping... The other day while I was toodling around in the bulk section I heard a guy shit talkin on the Winco. I turned and stared him down as I scooped a huge ass bag of raw almonds, he looked me up and down taking note of my huge pregnant belly and quickly moved along looking rather sheepish. News FLASH; Winco is not Whole Foods, its not New Seasons, its a wholesale mega box filled with sweet deals on mostly crap food. I have noticed a dramatic increase in frozen/ processed food filling my cupboards after I shop there, but you have to tip your hat to Winco as they employ tons of folks, and their Produce, Bulk and Dairy section has the best pricing in town hands down. It serves its purpose. Tip: shop super late on weeknights to avoid dirty children, attitudes and long lines! read more

Family of six, Lots of mouths to feed. In this store quite often. Lots of trouble with WIC. app saids yes, Winco has yet to put it in the system. Winco will not honor it. I will take my WIC elsewhere for less haggle. Large selection of meat, things I wouldn't even think of as meat. Love the bulk, produce is good, the store is always packed. Great prices. Only place our family buys bread. We are quite frequent here. Love the location. Have had the pleasure of going through KiKi's line more then once. She is such a delight! Friendly, funny, helpful, personable. Not all cashiers are more awake or friendly then a zombie. I look to go through KiKi's line. Not always so lucky. Although having amazing employees is what brings me back. read more

This location is always pretty busy. The store it's self seems taken care of but there have been times where I felt it could be cleaner as a grocery store. The produce section the last few times I've been there has been disappointing. Impossibly hard avocados or limp cucumbers or squishy tomatoes. Pretty disappointed in that area for this place. The check outs are usually pretty quick and I do like that they have a self check for those times you want to buy just a couple things and not have to stand behind people buying enough food to feed a whole town. I wish there were some kind of app that could navigate you to the items you need because the placement of things isn't clear and I walk forever looking. Always great prices like every other location though so I keep coming back for more. read more

Winco has the absolute best prices in town. A lot of items in bulk and they have other items I can never find at Safeway and Freddies. Great bakery section with fresh bagels you can mix and match to make a dozen. Can get busy so I go later in the day. read more

If you want to spend 100 dollars more for the same stuff then by all means, go to Safeway. They have great prices, good selection, excellent produce, great bulk bins too. And the checkers are nice and most have been there for years. Yes it's on 82nd and yes it can be crowded at peak times. Go non peak! read more

Five stars for all who boycott! BOYCOTT WINCO if you are not on a budget. Oh My God. The employees dont even care about security. I went back to customer service and asked for help. ALL EMPLOYEES LOOKED AWAY. NOW I WILL NEVER SHOP FOR YOUR WEAK STORE AGAIN! A grimey thug accosted my wife threatened at this WinCo. I move around her as he moved around her position. I described this scenario to officer Johnson and wondered if encouraging everyone to boycott WinCo would help. Knowing WinCo to be a cesspool, she said, "Go for it". It is private property off limits to Police action. If thugs chase you, panhandling its up to you. There is no security. They will taunt you to fight- they dont only want money. I left the Se 82nd WinCo with money orders. A thug came out of the dark at only 530PM and harassed my and got up all on my back. Wouldnt let us go so we had to go back IN WinCo where we asked for security assistance. Turns out there was FOUR of them. Security never helped us and favored allowing the chaos.DO YOU THINK I WILL EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN? I WOULD...BUT THEY WERE EYEING MY WIFE. The dirt bag. Worse still is WinCo, the 1% not defending the customer- their bread and butter- The 99%!!! Boycott WinCo 82nd. Or be prepared for a cheap (degrading) experience. BOYCOTT. Another option is Food4Less is on 7979 SE 82nd. They have security and more policing. Shame! Shame on WinCo 82nd!!!!! read more

I freaking LOVE WinCo. I shop here for almost everything and the cost of items is half or 2/3 the price of Fred's or Safeway. I am a WinCo junkie! They have most of my favorite brands: Dave's killer bread, Ryan's apple cider, Braggs apple cider vinegar, bobs red mill flour, bulk spices, bulk quinoa, drink mixers, and tons of alcohol choices. I love their deli for lunch meats for sandos... Great prices and ALWAYS fresh. I love that I am supporting an employee owned company that offers PENSIONS (whaaaaat? Can you hire me WinCo?) to their employees. Bring yo own bags and you will get 10 cents off per bag - holla! Plus, WinCo is a great place for some people watching :) I love it. So after spending thirty minutes reading reviews on this particular WinCo, I've come to the conclusion that people don't want a grocery store, they want a shopping experience. I've been shopping at this location for literally my whole life. My mom used to buy my brother and I a slice of pizza and a can of soda if we were good helpers during the trip. Today, as an adult, I shop there because the prices are fantastic. I spend around $100 for two and a half weeks of food. That much anywhere else gets me maybe a weeks worth. I've never once bumped into another persons cart, kids are kids and will do as they please, regardless of how good of a parent you are. If you are a person trying to buy food, go to WinCo. If you're a person who absolutely can not be around other people who might do something you don't like, go shop online. read more

This is a mega sized grocery store with overall good prices. They don't always carry the same items but are pretty consistent. The employees aren't overly friendly and you'd be lucky to get someone other than your cashier to say hello. read more

What can I say? This is a no frills grocery store. Period. I like the fact that they're twenty four hours and it's pretty clean as far as no frills groceries go. I have to admit, I like going there on my candy runs!! They are great for last minute things you need to pick up like milk or cereal or coffee--nothing fancy. read more

I used to love winco because of the prices and you can find everything there, (Taco Bell fire sauce too!) but my recent trip totally turned me off. I LOVE cauliflower and I bought a packaged, non organic whole cauliflower bunch and when I got home to eat it, it was INFESTED with bugs. I checked out my broccoli, and same, infested with bugs. Usually I don't have this problem so I didn't think to inspect the food, but now I know I am no longer going to buy my produce from winco. Also, the smell of winco is horrid. I have to hold my breath passing people in the isles. Overall, bad experience, bad produce. Not going there again. read more

Great prices and friendly customer service keep me coming back, but I hate trying to maneuver in this store! This is not Winco's fault, but it stresses me out enough to avoid when I can. People stand in the middle of aisles, block others at the entrance, let their kids run amok in everyone's way, cut you off, mean mug you when you try to get around them, etc. It's simply too busy most of the time. read more

I've never had this happen at ANY winco: I weighed one pound of cranberries and brought them to self checkout. The purchase scale weighed it at 2.76lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Said no way went to another self checkout machine and that one weighed it at 2 pounds!!!! I told the attendant and this old lady looked me square in the face and said: "the scales are never wrong." WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Winco expects no one to look at the weight in the ghetto of happy valley where people shop mostly with food stamps is my inclination they want to get double paid for everything for being in the slums. read more

I like WinCo for the bulk items, and they are almost always better priced than other grocery stores. I am not usually impressed by their produce section, and this store doesn't have an organic produce section. I would give them another star if they would add that (I have been to other WinCo's with organic produce!). read more

I love this store. Everytime I go in all the employees are very helpful and go out of their way to help you! In the produce department I always find unripped fruit, so I know it's really fresh! In the bulk section there are SO MANU CHOICES In the deli area the counter is always busy but all the employees are help and they have got the best chicken! The bakery is just flat out amazing. I always order birthday cakes from them cause I know it's always going to be perfect. The registers always have 3 or less people in line and having the option of self check out is a nice add on. Although this WinCo doesn't have a pizza department anymore their deli sure makes a good pizza. In the aisle there is always someone stocking the shelf so it's easy to find help. They're prices are great and the store is clean. I can always leave with a smile on my face and in my wallet! I love this WinCo! read more

WinCo Foods on 82nd is my grocery store of choice, where you can get a bunch of crap without getting too much of the same crap like you'd have to get if you went to Costco, which coincidentally isn't too far away. Open 24/7 which is nice. It's probably best to go here in the early morning hours, but then you might have to deal with the P-heads looking to rob the joint. WinCo's big enough to hide from them though. They used to have sandwiches for $2.08 but lately they've gone up to $2.28, still a decent deal even if the sandwich is a little bland. What can I say though? Sometimes I like to walk around a grocery store while eating something and I don't have the dough to buy a lb of prosciutto all the time. Good deals on fruit for the most part, some times better than others. They have 18c/lb turkeys during the holidays w/ a $50 purchase, very easily done. Cheap prices on hormone-free chickens, cow hearts, and the like while boasting the best deal on extra sharp Tillamook cheddar cheese in the city. The beer selection isn't the best, but they have a walk-in freezer if you're into that sort of thing. I also like this joint because of the cheap prices on bulk spices and herbs since buying those spice island bottles is ridiculously expensive. Not a place to get gourmet food, but a place to buy food that you can cook in gourmet fashion. Seriously, most people can't taste the difference between farm-raised/wild/whatever meat in a blind taste test. You might as well save money when feeding a family of 6, or just yourself. If you come during peak hours (3-7pm) bring some tunes because there's going to be lines. read more

Let me start by saying there is no "good" time to go to WinCo. Even if the parking lot is empty, it's a Friday night and all the d-bags are at the club, you are bound to be out numbered by trashy, unhealthy people with kids running everywhere. That being said, the prices are good and the food selection is not bad, although I would prefer more healthy choices. The cashiers are friendly, but if you need help finding something throughout the store, it's hard to track someone down. Finally, bagging your own groceries is stressful because you feel constantly rushed. They have like 30 check-out stands but even the day before Thanksgiving they only had around 10 open. The cashiers are so fast, but after going to WinCo for so many trips I can keep up. I always bring my own bags, you get a discount for each one and they hold groceries better. All that being said, WinCo is a good store. I go there for the prices, not the experience. read more
