I Love Winco! They got the Big Bulk containers, plus they carry Dave's Killer Bread! They have a larger selection of produce than most of the grocery stores around here, they are open 24 hours and got a big parking lot. I usually come here to buy my snacks for when I get the munchies and also my fruits because there is more selection at cheaper prices. They've got a bakery and a seafood and Deli in this location. These guys also carry the S&B curry mix,Sapparo Ichiban saimin noodles and Aloha shoyu. read more

Something's were appealing, like ground beef for $1.88 lb in what appeared to be a 10lb roll. That's a bargain I can't find anywhere else. The bulk items are kind of a turn off. Here I'm thinking people are sticking their hands in to nosh on a few goodies and sure enough, some guy sticks his hand in and pulls out two gummy candies. Clearly he is mentally challenged and couldn't read the "DO NOT...." sign that's applied to every few barrels. I was surprised by the variety of products they carry. There was what appeared to be a massive selection of coffee on the wall but I didn't get a close up view. I picked up some Greek yogurt, Bolthouse Farms beverage, Kefir, and a couple other items which were priced much lower than any of the other Valley grocery stores. Not knowing the types of meat cuts and prices I couldn't compare WinCo to any of the area grocery stores. Overall feeling, I am not going out of my way to shop here. I love Winco, and this store is no exception. Being an Oregonian, they always keep me well stocked with the tillamook brand items you just can't seem to find anywhere else (yogurt, ice cream, etc)! Also in love with the Sanitas chips and bandon cheese (recently bought by tillamook, cheaper and just as good - who can eat that off brand cheese? not me). Beware that you do have to bag your own groceries (this adds a little stress to my shopping trip, but nothing unmanageable - bring helpers if possible) and they only take debit/cash. I have found that they are typically cheaper than the other grocery stores, and they have a whole lot more to offer. read more

Favorite grocery store in the valley!!! Starting with the parking lot. They have the BEST cart corral layout of any store I have ever been to. Just look at it the next time you go. It is efficient. Entryway - they usually have a few coupons available when you are walking in. I have found some deals for things I was already planning on buying. There is a HUGE sign by the door alerting you that they do not take credit cards. Other things I love. The produce prices are amazing. The bins of dry goods you can bag up are incredible. There is so much variety between pancake mix, 20 different kinds of granola, gummy butterfly's, and more. Almost every single time I have been in I have seen the manager walking around. Winco grocery store on Arizona and Willis (Chandler) is a combination of Wal-Mart, Aldi, Costco/Sam's Club, Sprouts, and Trader Joe's. HUGE selection in a HUGE store. Excellent self serve selection with more variety than I know what to do with. Great produce and deli and they have the whole wheat sourdough that I usually get at Trader Joe's. Can't say enough good things about this 5-star shopping adventure. BTW best price on toilet paper. Will not be buying this at another store now that I know this store exists. After living in Idaho from 2005-2007 coming back to Mesa, I wished that there was a Winco. Well after wishing it came true. I love Winco, they got some of the best prices for groceries. Shopped Winco stores in the Northwest for many years before moving to Mesa 2 years ago. So glad to see Winco here. Avoided Sunday G.O. rush and shopped Tuesday. Talked to 2 employees who transferred from Oregon and Washington because they wanted to move to AZ. One was so helpful as to hold items as I filled bags because my wife had the cart in another isle. We will continue to shop Winco for better prices and as good a selection as anyone. I like the bulk foods, but don't buy anything kids would want to grab from the lower level bins they can reach. Customer service is always good. It's employee owned so it's important to them. We will most likely shop early or late to avoid the crowds. They will grow. read more

Great store with open aisles and choices. Was a Fry's shopper for a long time but got tired of product and displays clogging the aisles. Winco is huge and has a unique lay out but once I figured it out, all is good. If you bring your own bags, it makes that process much easier. I love Winco but I really have an issue with the meat. We bought expensive steaks they looked good in the package but when we went to open the package and cook them they looked like they had been cut with an axe and there was a ton of fat on the bottom. They need to train the butchers. I'm really reluctant to shop here now despite the good things. read more

Wow. The MOST RUDE employees you will ever encounter ANYWHERE. On my second visit there yesterday. Second time RUDE staff encounter at check out. Seriously, these people want you to do their jobs. I was buying CASES of Pelegrino water. Inquired with staff regarding moving bottles to load CASES into my cart. RUDE woman looked at me like I was asking for a trip to Mars. Finally got some help. Got to cash out. Cashier did not want to look up code and wanted ME to open closed cases so he could scan bottles. REALLY? Left it there and walked out. Huge grocery store. There are a few great prices, though be sure to check them out closely. They would compare the product with Frys which is where I typically shop at, but the size of the pruduct is smaller then what they are comparing to, so not apples to apples. I feel odd writing a review about a grocery store, but here it goes. I love winco, the employees are all really kind and helpful. The prices are just right. Meat is good, even the seafood. I usually get their salmon patties and they are seasoned perfectly. What I don't like is their produce. Their vegetables are perfectly fine, but they almost always have a horrible fruit selection. Great customer service. I never have to wait in long lines. Produce is less expensive than most places, with bulk carrots for juicers. Great selection on may items. The bulk bins are clean and fresh I have never run into anything that was sitting to long. I give up! I have been there three times trying to find out what everyone likes. The prices are low on the items that line the entrance, but buyer beware of everything else in the store! The Health and Beauty Aids were the most expensive I've seen anywhere, the produce was intermittently high and low, the meat selection was not impressive and the prices were high compared to other grocery store sales. Disappointing. The prices also change daily. I bought cat litter (name brand, large bag) and the following day decided to buy more. When I went back, the price was up more than a dollar and there had been no indication that the first prices was a sale! The cashiers are too busy to be nice, the store is difficult to navigate, the customers were very interesting and the price tags are confusing and then I had to bag my own groceries. One thing is my wife says she wishes you guys had a better produce section and I can't argue because she's usually the one making the grocery list and doing the cooking and not the Walter White kind lol, but other than that great selections better pricing and no trashy Walmartness lol sorry I had to. By the way the General Tso's chicken you guy's make is incredible also the candy selection rocks lol and I don't know why but even our 6yr old gets excited when we tell him we're going to WinCo. My wife and i went to Winco in Mesa to check out the new store, but we were disapointed in how food items were laid out thru out the store. The store pretty much resembled a super Wal Mart. All in all we think the qaulity and prices are much better at Wal Mart. Even Costco is cheaper than Winco. And example such as a 6 lb container of honey is $ 18.87 at Winco and the same size container at Costco was only $ 13.78. That's a diference of $5.09 more at Winco. Five bucks is five bucks no matter how you look at it. We went there on a Friday and the store was prettty well packed with customers. Most of the people were just walking around checking out the store. Winco prices are pretty much in line with Wal Mart. The bottom line here is ? Would we go here again? No we would not come back, we would rather shop at Wal Mart which is more organized and has far more national brands at low prices than Winco. read more

I was recently shopping at winco and lost my keys.I had my 3 small children with me as well.The employees there asked if they could help me and they did.We were offered water ,phone and also if I would like them to put my things in the freezer. I am lucky enough to live 5 minutes away from this Winco Foods store. Shopping around for groceries for a young man like me can be difficult because I want to get the best deal because I have to drive to multiple stores. Ever since this Winco has been added to the area, it has made life a bit easier and more pleasant because of their food choices. I absolutely love the fact that they let you buy food from the bins and pay for as much as you wish to bag . If I wasn't just a few pieces of candy because I have a sweet tooth, it can be satisfied without having to shell out the full retail price of a package. I also love the fact that they are open 24 hours a day, this is very convenient for people who love shopping without having to deal with traffic inside and outside the store. They have great prices and their produce is unbelievable ! Some of the freshest fruits and vegetables you have ever seen. I no longer am forced to deal with Walmart's monstrosity of a produce section . There have been a few times that I had to use their restroom , I was afraid of walking into a public restroom and having to step over toilet paper, puddles, etc.. Boy was I wrong! Their bathroom was literally the cleanest public restroom I have ever used by far! The store seems to pride themselves on cleanliness and customer service as well as a great selection of produce. Went early to the new store on Power Road (5:00 AM) because I had run out of omeprazole. They did not have it, just the expensive kind. Looked for Plax, and they didn't have it. Bought a few things, and when I checked out I found that the graham cracker box had been crushed in. The checkout lady said, "So you don't want this?" and when I said no, she just stuck it under the counter. So I went to WalMart and got my omeprazole and Plax. Won't be back to winco unless my wife drags me. read more

I was greeted with a power chair at the door by a certain employee every time he works! Now I know that doesn't sound like anything new, but I'm handicapped and it is very hard for me to get around! But I know that when I come into my neighboorhood Winco and if John is working there will be an electric scooter ready for me, and it's not just me! But John who works up at the front self-serve cash registers always tries to make everyone feel like they are special! If John hasn't won employee of the year he should have! From a customers point of view he is the best employee ever! If you could fill your store with employee's like John you would never have to worry about a public relations problem at all! He is kind and courtesy and he strives to make each and every customer feel like they are the only customer that matters! He would get an A+! read more
