I am deeply disappointed with the customer service at this WinCo location and will no longer be shopping here or at any WinCo foods. A couple of months ago in April during sometime in the afternoon, I was waiting in line while my mom stepped away for a moment to grab an item. There was no one waiting behind us in line. Instead of speaking to me directly and asking a simple question, the cashier called over another worker to complain. That second employee was very unprofessional and immediately started yelling at us, making unfair assumptions, and accusing us of being rude to others. He completely insulted our character without giving us any chance to share our side of the story. I have noticed a pattern of rude behavior from other WinCo locations as well. Due to this awful experience and the complete lack of respect from staff, I am officially done shopping here. read more

I've been trying to shop for groceries on a tighter budget recently. I don't enjoy the experience of shopping at WinCo all that much (non-intuitive layout, dim lighting, crowded) - but their costs are definitely low enough to make it "worth it." Large parking lot, can be chaotic. Bottle drop is busy and very dirty. Checkout is stressful, as it's bag-your-own. I've never been able to find a staff member on the floor who could help me find something. Debit or cash only. read more

This will be the last time that I do business at this Winco. I stopped by to buy groceries after completing my work shift that started at 0200 in the morning. They had paper plates on sale, I didn't watch the Hispanic female with mixed green hair check out all of the items. Worn out I politely asked if the paper plates on the checkout belt were mine. The female checker became arrogantly sarcastic and mumbled something while pointing at the checkout screen, then barked to look at the end. I told her that I couldn't see a flat stack of plates over the center divider. She then sarcastically giggled. This checker shouldn't work with customers and should be given a different job. I can't believe I am raving about a Winco! Typically, I'm not a fan and find the stores footprint hard to navigate and the food quality not the best. This location was a pleasant surprise! Clean, organized, beautiful produce at much lower prices. Wow! The bulk area was super impressive. While I was there, two workers were cleaning and sanitizing, so important these days. I bought some walnuts for baking and at $4.99 a pound, it's the lowest price I've seen. Refilled several spice jars (basil, oregano, paprika, chipolte pepper, dill) with each costing between 50 -90 cents, totally worth replenishing my spice rack jars! Fresh spices make all the difference in cooking. My favorite find in the bulk area was mini dark chocolate chips, which I have never seen. Plan on making homemade cannolis for Easter and these will be sprinkled on top of the ricotta filling! In bulk, there is an entire row of nuts, one of grains, flours, candy, dried fruits, spices and even paper foods. Very impressive. Stopped in because I needed cucumbers and jalapeño and I happened to be in this shopping center to visit Mei Sum Bakery. I ended up buying so many other items because the prices were too good to pass up! 32 ounces of ricotta for $4; sliced beef at $5.99 for a Korean noodle dish I decided to make. Andseveral other random purchases that could fit in my arms since I didn't grab a cart! This store is smaller than other Wincos, which I don't mind. I actually prefer a smaller footprint so I can get in, around and out, faster. Used the self checkout and process was easy. For those that are not Winco shoppers like me, you must pay with debit card or cash, no credit cards. This is what keeps the prices low. Thankfully I had my debit card as I don't carry cash, so I was able to pay for my full bag of groceries that came to $19.89. When I need to make a huge dinner or I'm doing big shopping for a holiday, I will remember this Winco. It's further away than other grocery stores but the low prices make it with it. Plus it's in the same shopping station as Mei Sum Bakery so I can grab some delicious Cantonese buns while I'm there! read more

This WinCo location isn't a store that I regularly visit. Why - concerns around safety to my vehicle and myself. As you enter the parking lot, there are police "lot cops" - a tall pole is attached, with cameras flanking the top. They also have security guards in the lots and in the store itself. While I can often find some items, such as smoked turkey necks that I use to cook with that I can't find at other Winco's, I only come to this location if my husband is with me. I don't feel safe visiting this store on my own. read more

I live five minutes away from this store, but I can't go shopping here anymore and have to go to Happy Valley instead. It's unshoppable. The lines are ridiculously long no matter what time of day you go. I don't have the time of day to wait in line for more than an hour. it's ironic that they eliminated self checkout due the theft, but the outrageously long lines make people want to steal more. I have seen people steal, and no one stops them since everyone's distracted by the lines. This store is tragically losing business due to poor management & decisions. read more

Winco is a great addition to the neighborhood. This is a smaller Winco as they do not have a bakery, but they do get baked goods sent in. They have everything else a regular Winco would and everything is pretty well in stock. Very busy Winco during the day and weekends. read more

This location is slightly smaller than other WinCo grocery stores so it doesn't have all the food sections that I am used to. For example, they do not have a fresh bakery section, which is unfortunate because I like to pick out my jalapeno cheddar or asiago cheddar bagels. Instead, they have pre-packaged bagels of the same type, which comes in sets of six. However, I do notice this location has less traffic so that the fruits and vegetables sections aren't crowded with many shopping carts. The check out lines were shorter, which I only had to wait 5 mins in. An interesting thing I noted is that they don't have plastic bags at this location for your groceries, but rather, brown paper bags. I support the eco-friendly direction of no-plastic bags, but it does make it more difficult to carry them up four floors without handles. Therefore, I suggest bringing your own reusable bags with handles instead. read more

For taking phone calls saying one thing, then doing another. For targeting customers in passive aggressive ways that show your ill-trained reliance on the food warehouse model; low prices creating food access in low income areas that are relentlessly responsive, during open hours. Especially highlighting that the Customer Service counter is chronically understaffed. Is there a pattern worth you noticing as a company?!! Yet investing some of those stock options into an active employee retreat and wellness program, would NEVER occur- RIGHT? WINCO will just mire itself in its own shortsightedness without proper Customer Service skills upgrades or P2P training, while expressing intolerance as a frontline standard- RIGHT? Good luck with that. This is one drop of descent that over time will add up as ignored complaints. Eating away at the WINCO business foundation. WHAT IS the WINCO business foundation? Why does it matter?? Not ALL WINCO locations are this over-stressed and acting out. Yet, the corporate headquarters mirroring in-kind intolerance, might be an education thing. Truth needs to be said to BAD transactional behaviors in professionals who are poorly trained in P2P contact. I lived in the Foster Powell neighborhood for around six years before giving Winco a chance. The savings are definitely there and they have a decent amount of vegetarian foods. I just watched some of employees at this location racial profile a woman of color. They accused her of steeling, put hands on her and kicked product out of her hand with a smile on their faces while she tried to pick up. Product she had paid for and had a receipt for. Eventually the Manager Karen went and looked at the cameras it seems then came out and gave her back the stuff they had physical taken away from her during their assault. I believe the name of the employee who was kicking things to keep her from pick them up was named Tasha (started with a T). One of the lost prevention men physically prevented her from leaving at one point as well. They did all this in front of her young daughter as well as in full view of everyone at the checkout. The entire altercation was unnecessary and wildly unprofessional. read more

Shop here because of location. Not special but had a mentionable moment in what I love as Portland. Was two minutes after the customer service closed. I don't ask for hand outs but I did politely ask that an acceptation be made for my rent to be paid. I work 3 jobs and not a lot of things make a memorable mark. But I'll never forget that classic business feel as 10:03 rolled around and a lady or what I think may have been the manager was closing or someone in a WinCo shirt soullessly finished her task. Your headquarters for LIMES! Don't even think of finding limes anywhere but at WinCo. Fred Meyer limes are too expensive, WalMart limes are too hard and old. New hours, 6am-12midnite, all days. The new store looks like the other WinCo stores, but it looks a bit more modern. Don't miss the gigantic bulk foods department. It features over 800 items! The seafood dept looks exceptional! This WinCo doesn't have a bakery, but does carry many of the usual WinCo bakery items. Take a look at my photos! My only negative is that the self-check experience seems to be crowded and a pressure. Don't forget, no credit cards. Only... Cash, Checks, Debit and EBT. I think it's way cool that WinCo is an employee owned business! read more

They actually don't close at 12... they close and lock the doors at 11:45... you would think such a big company would know to post the correct closing time... If you want people to be out of there by midnight, lock the doors at midnight, tell all customers to check out by midnight as the registers are closing, close the registers for real at 12:05. I would have been done shopping and out the store by 11:50... so why wasn't I able to shop while the store was open? Cause it was actually closed... closed store = locked doors... read more

Even though my first impression of them was a little bit negative because they didn't take credit cards when I had a whole cart of groceries , they do sell good products , great for bulk buy, and brands I got turned on to I hadn't seen. So over time , much more positive, and I really like the concept of a worker owned grocery store. Wish they had a location closer to downtown is all. read more

Four days open when I visited. At first, this Wincos seemed to be set up the same as others. But after I progressed further inside, past produce, bulk foods and the meats, things changed a bit. This is a smaller Wincos, as I heard an employee tell another customer. This one does not have a bakery, nor the Sonic line of drinks I usually buy in a Winco. So, even though this one is closer to where I live, I will be heading south down 82nd to the Clackamas store more often then not. At least there were cashiers waiting and eager to check me out, and the young man who helped me was friendly. read more

Having been to several Wincos in the Portland metro area, this is the worst so far. A bleak sense of desperation pervades the place and it shows in their hostile policies towards customers. 1) Winco's return policy is not honored. If something is off about the food you just bought, if the produce is rotten, or if you bought the wrong item by accident and need to exchange it for the correct one, they will not accept the return. So if you have no choice but to shop here, make sure you carefully inspect everything you're getting because you'll be throwing away money if what you bought is rotten or incorrect. 2) Bathrooms are only for paying customers, which means if you're prone to sudden emergencies regarding your bodily functions, this is not the place to shop. They will tell you to wait anxiously in their long lines, purchase your cart full of items before you can use the bathroom. Just a few miles south is the Happy Valley Winco where they honor their return policy and acknowledge that customers are human beings with gastrointestinal systems. read more

Store was a bit of a disaster to navigate and lacked a pulled together appearance. Prices here might have been better than some other grocery chains but I was bothered by the layout of the aisles and products which sometimes seemed random. Thankfully, I found everything I needed but I probably won't be returning. read more

On one hand it really sucks for any Winco to not be 24 hours but I imagine with the location that makes sense. As with all Winco locations - best price point on everything and they have a ton of products unique to Winco. I did happen to drop by at their 6am open time needing to grab some last minute stuff but I needed to wait 5 minutes when I discovered that they were not a 24 hour location. I did not even realize that there are Winco spots not open 24/7! I do like the way this store is arranged though - some are a bit confusing. But I was able to find everything pretty fast. My go to store for all my grocery needs. No other store in town has better prices than WinCo. This particular store is open until midnight, and is not 24 hours. The staff is great, the store is well maintained, and it's always easy and quick to get in and out regardless how busy it may be. The employees in this store treat their customers horribly to the point that the people returning their bottles and cans are literally opening up the machines to take glass and crushed bottles out because nobody will attend to the machines. Best grocery store! The prices for starters are usually 10-20% less! I jus bought a beautiful 10lb pork butt roast for less than $10! I spent under $100 on $150 worth of supplies and groceries. Also check out their bulk food items! Their spice bulk is wonderful! And reasonable! read more

Manager allowed Covid rules to be broken - - I always come here; have been since living in the area. This morning, I had a disheveled Man approach me less than 3 feet and start pointing at batteries and asking if I wanted them. I raise my voice clearly and asked him to step away and leave me alone and not talk to me. And then immediately called me an asshole because I pointed out that he was breaking Covid and he was in my personal space. I am mediately went to a manager to complain, and the manager took the homeless guy side thing that I had two options, either get back in line or leave and never come back. What a horrible experience, and a horrible manager to allow Covid regulation to be broken, regardless of me being called an asshole, the way the manager treated the situation with so much worse. Same great Winco pricing as any other location. This location still has a bottle return with a never ending line. This location has no bakery and has a smaller deli/seafood section. This location is NOT 24 hours, due to the homeless community and high theft, they close at midnight. They still have a solid bulk selection at this location so that makes it a good stopping point. The fruit and produce is still a large selection in the ethnic foods are spot on. read more

I'd honestly give it zero stars if I could. At night, they pay their stock people $15.50 an hour, when minimum wage is $14.75, to constantly break their back. FYI, competitive businesses in the area pay a lot more for the same job, usually $3-4/per hour more. read more

Worth going out of my way to do my grocery shopping, especially when it's time to stock up on essentials. They have a huge variety of produce, bulk items (insane amount of different bulk items like grains, pasta, candy, chocolate, nuts, flours, dog foods and more) They have a giant selection of fresh meats and prepared deli, massive selection of cheeses, prepacked foods, frozen etc. They usually have a pretty decent amount of registers open, and since you have to bag your own items, I find that makes everything move faster. Definitely my favorite grocery store around, when it comes to bulk and variety. Oh and the prices are better than most other grocery chains as well. read more

I worked out a property near Gresham over the weekend. Ron picked me up after work and asked if it was OK to stop here to pick up groceries. I used to shop at the WinCo in Beaverton and liked the savings in money I got there. This WinCo store is pretty much brand new. It is also smaller than their other stores and seems to have better ventilation and lighting. Ron and I spent quite a bit of our visit label reading to continue working on healthier food choices. Their bulk department is amazing. Ron picked up some shelled walnuts and I got raw almonds. These are wonderful snacking options. Prices are excellent. I picked up Greek yogurt for 72 cents a carton and a nice plump rotisserie chicken for $4.99. Fabulous! We also checked out the produce section and found excellent fresh options. We received great and friendly service from the employees at checkout. Remember they take only cash or debit and you do bag your own groceries. I know that we'll return as our shopping experience was excellent all around. read more

Walk in this morning and some employee mouths off to me I can't "go that way," when there is someone with a damn Bicycle walking down an isle I wanted to go down - then intended to get flippant and ignore the other people walking past me into said isle. I've been waiting a few years for this WinCo to open. My dollar stretches here so much, I feel like a winner every time I shop for groceries. Huge variety in bulk section. At least 4 types of oatmeal, 4 types of salt, and granola for every taste. And look ! The wall of coffee! Must be hundreds of special roasts at my disposal ! Free tasters every morning of select varieties, too. Fresh fruit and vegetables. Nice selection of meats and cheeses. Cereals at half price of competitors. So I save in grocery expenses as well as gasoline. I just walk there. Not crowded like the others. Clean and very friendly brand new store. They only take debit and cash. read more
