They now offer Sushi made that day.

1/16/25- They now have sushi made fresh daily. It's similar to Safway's sushi in quality, but about 1 dollar cheaper. There is no sushi chef making it in front of you, but displayed in one of their cold sections near the deli. There were only 3 varieties of sushi types that I saw besides the $19 combo that I bought.

I came to purchase just a few items and decided to entertain the 15 or less line... the woman decided to question my items and I told her I only have 15 or less actually I had 14 she said that she had to count making sure... that pissed me off I don't want everyone touching my items so I fussed and turned away I stood in the longer line and watched her with another female employee laugh about how she did the right thing... I've never had an issue with this location and im intelligent enough to no my limits for her to make issue, needing to verify my grocery was entirely overkill.

I figured it was time to update my review since I shopped here on Sunday evening. I stopped by with my youngest daughter after attending one of her best friend's pool party. We were tired after being outside for 6+ hours; but, told her we need to stop by here before heading back home. It was very busy; but, we made our way quickly through the store. We all know how expensive food, gas, basically everything is nowadays. The prices here were reasonable. I only purchased items that were "good deals" compared to the San Ramon area. I will say in confidence that the items that I bought were average around 30% less at Winco vs other stores that I shop at regularly in the tri valley. Yes, it is still cash (I believe debit too; but, I didn't pay attention). The store aisles were clean and orderly. The interior lights were bright and this time there were many carts put away in it's proper designated places. This time, I might have to drive over the Altamont sooner rather than later to stock up on some more groceries.

I purchased the WinCo croissant with a today fresh date. Quickly found a fly stuck in one of the croissants. The fly was literally imbedded.

I love the self serve, self grind almond butter. I always add a little bit of the honey and mix it up with a pinch of salt. So yummy!

Does anyone know what the CURRENT HOURS OF OPERATION are, with COVID 19 going on?

Hi Monika, our hours are constantly being reviewed, please visit https://www.wincofoods.com/coronavirus-updates for current temporary hours. Thank you!

Do you carry lunchables and how much are they?

Yes they do and depends on the ones you want. The small ones are 98cents and the bigger ones I believe are $1.98 but not 100% sure how much the bigger ones are.

I usually go early getting there between 10am and 11am, before they run pierces as 5th in line for the section with the fried/grilled chicken, chicken nuggets, Jojo fries, and short rib ends. Love the shirt rib ends, so was waiting to get some. The employee helpungcamwas a laemployee and the customer begoemre me was rude and impatient. This customer wanted the grilled chicken pierces , but had very poor communication skills. He kept asking for the small brown pieces. The latino employee would point to the chicken legs (the small legs made of brown meat). The customer didn't say anything so the employee put the kegs un the co trainer. Then the customer is saying, No the small brown pieces, again. So I'm as confused as the safeway employee. So the employee just starts pointing at different pieces, thighs, wings, breast. The customer keeps saying no to the left the small browner pieces. The customer is obviously getting upset and turns to look at me for back up But dude you're confusing me too. The customers says to me, He doesn't know what im talking about. So I tell him that I don't know what yiyr talking about The customer finally says Whatever just give me the chicken and walks away. I'm next so I say Hi How are you to the customer being courteous. I saw there wasn't much short rib tips left, so I was going to take whatever was in the tray. However the employee says, let me get some fresh ones they just finished cooking. So I received 1 lb of fresh cooked short ribs. Being kind goes a long way. Didn't get the employees name but he is definitely an assist to Safeway Delhi section. He never got angry or frustrated at the annoying customer, .

Then she shouts over at the lady that is by the self-checkout. The lady just walks back to the self-checkout completely ignoring us and not helping us. We asked her if she was helping us that we needed to sign up and in a rude tone she said we needed to get the app and just went about her business. Were hot, thirsty and in the moment couldn't even think to process to pull up the app and then the lady starts arguing with me. I told her I'm not going to argue with her that the lady said she was going to help us and that is it. Then we said forget it. While we're quickly walking out trying to get out of the store, because my child has disabilities and at this point we're completely frustraited, he kept saying stuff. I turn around and I'm talking to my husband because he's a little further back and the manager starts repeating "what is that? what is that?" I told him I was talking to my husband, not him, and we kept walking. This is not the first time we've had issues in this store and we definitely will never go back. A lot of the staff automatically assume you speak Spanish, and it's actually pretty rare to find someone working who speaks English well enough to help. Sometimes it feels like it's inconvenient for the staff when you don't speak Spanish, which shouldn't be the case at all. I also found expired cat food while shopping and placed it to the side thinking someone would remove it, but when I came back two weeks later it was STILL sitting there expired. That was really concerning. Another frustrating change is the checkout process. It used to be convenient being able to buy beans, rice, and groceries all together, but now everything has to be done in separate transactions and separate lines, which just makes shopping take longer for no reason.
