A much smaller location than the one in Antelope but just as sufficient. I did not come here to do my weekly grocery shopping but to buy ingredients to have a baking date w/ Emmalouise B. The usual things offered but I do not bake from a box. Emmalouise has enough flour to last till the end of the year so all I got were: evaporated milk and Ghirardelli chocolate chips: dark, semi-sweet, and milk chocolate. I do not go for cheap brands when it comes to chocolate but little did I know, Emmalouise only use Ghirardelli chocolate bars! All good though because I made chocolate chip cookies for the fire station near my place of residence the day after. On our date, we baked macarons and millionaire's shortbread cookies, a British delicacy I have never heard of. Man, her kitchen is a dream come true; a marble countertop, all the Kitchen Aid gadgets known to man, and everything everyone would want in their kitchen. I had a blast *hearts* Anyway. I love buying cake flour, bread flour, all purpose flour, sugar, and other baking ingredients by the pound because I can get only what is needed whereas at stores such as Safeway and etc., I need to buy the entire bag. I love the vanilla bean in a glass beaker however, it costs $6! Lines moved fast and service was friendly. I'll be coming here soon to actually go grocery shopping. Oh, and I have been appointed to cook Thanksgiving again this year so this is where I will shop. The menu will most likely be: prime rib, roasted/stuffed turkey, jalapeños and cornbread muffins, mushrooms and onions quiche w/ gruyere, stuffed mushrooms, French onion soup, crab cakes, buffalo tenders, and for desserts, just like before: 6 later chocolate fudge cake, chocolate chip cookies, blondies brownies, and a chocolate and hazelnut crepe cake. I finally made the trek to WinCo Foods this past week to see what the hubbub was about. Because of the horror stories I've heard about the lines and the crowds, I used my graveyard work schedule to my advantage and went at 7:00 AM. Guess what? With the exception of about a dozen shoppers and a hand full of employee's, I pretty much had the pace to myself. Jennifer D described WinCo as "safeway meets costco..." Sorry, but I beg to differ Jennifer. It's more like Costco meets Pak & Save. When you check out, you pack you own bags, hence the reason for some savings. The store is shinny and new and they have plenty of brand name foods to choose from. I really liked their "help yourself" candy (see picture) and Seafood areas. And can you believe they actually carry Mud Bugs (Crawdads to you Yankees). Overall, a really nice store, but IMO not worth the 6 miles drive to save a few bucks. Checker was extremly rude for no good reason she must hate her job she tried to ruin my day

If I could leave zero stars I would!! As we were checking out we were approached by Darlene at the self check out, on Monday 3/11/2024 @ 9:30pm,accusing us of stealing a bag of .28 animal crackers 2 different times. The second time she had her manager come over whom was very polite and he seen we did scan all the 10 packs of .28 crackers, only to make her look like a fool. Darlene couldn't even apologize. 0 stars for her service, also the way she approached us asking why everything was put into a plastic bag, which are placed under the bin of cookies. If Darlene if you're not supposed to use the plastic bags, why are they right under the cookie bin? Thank you to the manger for being patient and explaining everything. The way she approached us was extremely rude and unprofessional. Ms. Darlene needs to be retrained again on customer service. Totally unacceptable Darlene!!! read more

I wish we had a place like this in San Jose! It's like a bigger Smart and Final! Fruits and veggies are super fresh. Cool dispensers for candy, chocolate, nuts, and other things. Place overall is well organized. Pricing is great. Staff was friendly. Not so much the register person though. Some people might not like bagging their own stuff but since you get plastic bags in Tracy... Why not? Conveyer belt button for kids to help with bagging groceries. This review is for the deli department. I don't know what the problem is with the people working there. I wanted to order 3 lbs of potato wedges and 2 lbs of fried chicken. The server gave me an attitude and made a comment like saying "You are getting a lot, there's not enough that will be left...its unfair to other customers. I was thinking, what is the problem? If there's not enough left, isn't it just right to cook another batch? Is there a limit for them to cook? If the item is in demand, isn't it just proper to make more? Why give an attitude? If you don't want your job, don't blame it on me! I hope the management will take some action regarding those employees who have rude attitude to customers. read more

Grand opening lacked enough carts. People had to track down other shoppers and mug them for their carts. Considering the volume of customers during grand opening weekend, the crowd was well maintained and everything was stocked! Line also moved quickly and orderly. I thought they would be out of stock on the ridiculously cheap stuff like 68 cent 10 lb sack of potatoes or $3.99 boneless ribeye steaks, but they did a real good job of keeping everything stocked and people moving thru the checkouts. Best of all, they didn't even ask for any of the coupons to give you the advertised price! Now my two fav stores are the "Co"s....CostCO and WinCO bc they so CO. Jigga Jigga word! read more

They have really good prices on food st this location. They have really good specials when it come to buying nest. I love to barbeque with my family so I always come here to get my stuff especially during the holidays because they have such great savings and makes it really easy for you to buy stuff in bulk so you can feed plenty of members of your family relatively quickly they have so many great options when it comes to serial as well. My kids absolutely love eating cereal so the fact that they can come here and get any type of cereal that they want is definitely a plus. We will always make sure we keep coming back to this location because they provide a quality and they have really good pricing. At Winco , Tracy , I personally witnessed a black woman cut in line in front of a elderly gentleman this last Thursday . The woman`s cart was full , the elderly man had fewer then 15 items .The man voiced his objection only to be met with a barrage of racist comments ! During this hard times and when you need them they fail you. Open 24 hrs but now limited hours which unclear what hours. We came 4am and it's close. Some said open at 5am and other said 7am. Went back home. l understand there's a covid19 epedimic. Now they don't even answer they're phone. WinCo does grocery like no other grocer. Specifically in the bulk food aisle. Purchase what you need and nothing more. How many times have you bought a whole bottle of spice you needed for one recipe? Need just 4 oz of nuts? Get it here! Craving yogurt raisins but only want a handful? Need only one cup of rice, oats, or beans? Whatever you can think of in the dry foods, nuts, candies, cereals, they have it here. I was super impressed! They even have FRESH honey. With bees still making it! Produce was really fresh and cheap. I'm not sure how they get the prices so low, but its more than affordable. We need one of these in the Bay Area, please! read more

In a pinch, in Tracy, headed out for adventure, and the app leads me to WinCo. Oh boiii. I'm no fan of WinCo; I don't mind warehouse environment shopping, I actually like the employee-owned part of it, but even the brand new ones feel like a walk through a tacky ghetto on the day they open. Take a dang credit card (oh I know, percent of savings, low prices, etc) and the products they carry are second to most, especially in produce. I've waxed on and on about this elsewhere so I'll cut to the chase: Bulk foods. It's the only reason I ever go anymore. So on our way out to backpacking, we needed nuts and trail mixes and the like (oh, and gummy peach rings because gummies) and so we went in. There was a wide selection of inexpensive trail snacks, and so we filled a few bags and got back out on the road. It's darn near my last choice in grocers, but I have to tip my hiking cap to them: when I needed something in a pinch, they were at least there, open, and had what I wanted. read more

Truth be told, I love WinCo. In the Northwest where I lived previously, the chain is huge and has a great following. In general, it is employee-owned, customer service is good, prices are about the best you can get, and if you look closely you can see a lot of instances of them buying products from smaller regional vendors and not just the mega companies. Plus it's open 24/7 This particular WinCo is a little on the newer side than what I shopped at in Oregon and is likely one of the best of WinCo's I've visited. It is laid out in typical WinCo fashion as you walk in and where all the departments are located. This place has always been very clean and organized every time I've been in there. Produce is always plentiful and reasonably priced. The meat department has a good selection but may not carry as much of the niche type products that Raley's would carry and the Bakery is decent. The liquor department is ho-hum but the prices are decent. This includes wine and beer as well. If you want selection there, BevMo is your place but if WinCo has what you like you will get a good price. I do think this store stands out in it's bulk items section. Great selection I've not seen anywhere else I've never had problems with any freshness with nuts, cereals, granola, oatmeal, etc. I've purchased there. Again, great prices. Also, in the middle of the store, all your standard dry goods and prepackaged stuff in general is very well priced. They have their store brand which is rock bottom priced and then all of the typical national brands you'd expect. You'll also find some smaller regional brands(the ones I like to support) mixed in with various products. I've seen it with breads, tortillas, some seasonings and jams, as well as certain frozen foods(primarily meats). The catch of course is you have to bag your own stuff. I love this because all my skills from my years at Costco in college come back to me and I have fun with it. If you don't like doing this, this will be a deal breaker for you and you might feel better about paying a higher price at safeway. Also keep in mind no credit cards here. Cash, check, and debit only. But I do believe this IS the place to buy groceries in Tracy. This place gets 5 stars instead of the 4 I might ordinarily give a WinCo because it is possibly one of the best in their company IMHO. Whenever I'm around the Stockton area I always try to shop at Winco on the way home for all my canned goods, spices in the bins, staples - general everything. I walk down every aisle in search of things that I use because the prices here are generally much cheaper. I don't look at the frozen items because of the long drive home but I would. I wish there was a WinCo in the East Bay. It's always a shopping experience for me. And I go home with bags of groceries for a smaller fraction of the price that I would normally pay and I do shop at places like Food Maxx and Walmart. read more

One of the biggest collection of consumer foods that is open 24 hrs what else can you ask for when you have one of these in your neighborhood. A little pricey, has this moniker of "Employee owned" which some of them take literally and behave as if they own this place, otherwise leaving these few "egoists" they have a pretty good customer service. Let-down is the meat department sometimes they should simply remove the expired or about-tobe-expired products off the shelf rather than trying to sell them at a discount, a sure-shot path for a lawsuit. read more

I am a 74 yr old, disabled vet. Tried to enter Winco Summerlin at approx. 7 am. Senior hours. Was told my caregiver could not go in with me. She was there to push my cart, reach high and bend low for products and to bag my groceries. All the "security guard" had to say was "have a nice day". I do my everyday(big) groceries here and their prices are lower compared to their competitors. I also love getting their own winco brands which is an excellent source of savings for my family. There's no lack of cashiers so you're now waiting forever in-line to check out. Self checkout is also available if you know how to operate them and your patience is very excellent, if you know what i mean. (please place the item in the bag; *screams* it's already in the bag!) Produce sections are always well stocked and very clean, prices are also excellent. Their bulk goods are also stocked and priced good so you can buy your bulk nuts, dried fruits, beans, etc here every time you needed more of them. Meats and dairy products are also cheaper and you get a variety of them. This is an "employee owned" business so you get service from (some) the workers here that are pleasant and friendly. HOLY CRAP. How have I lived in Tracy for almost four months and never went here?! I am so in love with this place. My boyfriend and I were just accustomed to going to Safeway, so we would to buy all our groceries and house hold needs from there. Well, we randomly decided to pop into Winco to check it out and the variety and organization here were outstanding. After our stroll through Winco, we decided the next day we would grocery shop there for the first time. We came on a Saturday morning and it wasn't packed at all. We grabbed all kinds of different options since they had so many and filled up our cart like we usually do. Only this time we didn't pay the usual over $200 like we do at Safeway. We ended up paying less than $150 and I was shocked. We got way more of a variety of things, yet we paid significantly less. Winco will be our everyday stop shop forever. read more

I think the whole concept of this store is realllllly cool! I like to see it as a cross breed of costco & safeway. Just without the expensive membership &moooore selection! The great thing about this grocery store is that it's open 24 hours! The cool thing is in the back area, there are tubs of certain things you can weight out and create specific to you. For example they have different types of pastaand different colors shapes and sizes of pasta. This is great because if your like me, i always have extra pasta that i dont need and the rest ends up getting wasted. SO with there creativity, the fact that you can measure out the exact amount you need then your on your way. There meat section is amazing, VERRRRY reasonable pricing. I thought stores like this went away in the 1980s. It seems well organized, but is definitely a no-frills kind of grocery store. The prices seemed good, but not exceptional. It didn't seem incredibly better than Target but they had much more available. The prices seemed slightly more than Walmart but the produce seemed to be of better quality. Shopping here isn't bad. They have a decent selection of just about everything. The bulk foods were plentiful, though I wonder if people use their hands and get free samples. I like that they had pre-made deli sandwiches. Unfortunately, I didn't see if they had any condiments to go with them. I got a roast beef and cheddar sandwich, which wasn't bad, and at $1.99 was much cheaper than those at most Target stores at around $4.99 - $5.99, though the ingredients and bread seem better there. I am a dedicated Winco shopper. I always have a pleasant experience with the employees but today highly disappointed in Justin in the deli depth. Long line people waiting for fried chicken special. I asked. Everyone they told me go ahead were waiting for chicken. Justin asked if he could help, I told him several didn't chicken wings, while he was filling the box he's talking to the next person what he wants. He hadn't even finished helping me,I wanted other items. Then another clerk steps up ask do I need help, I said no I'm already being helped. Justin pretended he was confused. I am new to Tracy and new to WinCo foods, these do not exist where I am from. I was here two months before going into WinCo and boy do I regret that. The prices are great, most items beat Safeway and foodmaxx hands down. The fruit and produce is fresh and I've found it to be either equal or better than Safeway. It's a warehouse type setting and you bag your own groceries. You don't get all the bells and whistles of some stores but you make up for all that in savings. WinCo has become my new go to store. read more
