We came to Pinedale after unexpectedly having to terminate a 3 day camping/hiking trip due to weather. We were exhausted and starving and spotted it as we were going down the main road through town. It was exactly what we needed! Such generous portion sizes and so many options on the menu. My husband had a burger and I got the Veggie Stacker. I have to admit I was skeptical about a veggie burger with no patty initially, but it was so filling and delicious! The drink menu was also extensive. We both got a Pear Me Up (pear vodka, ginger beer, lime juice) and it's our new favorite cocktail! Definitely recommend if you're coming through town! read more

I think this place is under rated. I was really surprised how good it was. I had a Turkey cranberry sandwich that was delicious and I am normally not a sandwich person. The salad was fresh nice size and looked great. My daughter had tacos they were good as well. We both had a small flight of beer they were tasty, as good as many I have visited. The service was a 5 I don't know how they could be nicer. Check this place out it is a very solid 4 stars. I am guessing it's a few food and beer aficionados that rate it as low but I use yelp all the time this one is definitely under rated. read more

A nice pit stop between Colorado and Montana... The menu has a wide selection of bar food from small plates to entrees and a good beer selection. Unfortunately, they were out of 4 of them. Still, we found a good Blonde Ale and ordered the Chicken Street Tacos with a side salad. The salad was fresh with a selection of greens, crimini mushrooms, sliced cucumber and shredded cheese (not vegan unless requested). I got the house dressing- a strawberry vinaigrette; which was thick and delicious, almost jammy . We were both very impressed with the tacos: The chicken was marinated, grilled and cubed. Served in three corn shells with shredded lettuce, red onion and a slice of lemon.( housemade corn chips, salsa and sour cream on the side) We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. She apologized for being out of so many beers saying, "its been a busy week!" I can see why this is a popular place in Pinedale: Nice atmosphere, two separate dining areas (bar/restaurant), affordable menu, clever signage, and personalized merchandise. Poor experience, that seems common reading the reviews. Our family ordered a burger, brisket nachos, a salad and beers. The burger was fine, other than they ask how you want it cooked and it is cooked gray, even if you say medium rare... why even ask if nothing but gray is an option???? The brisket nachos were cold... as in cold to the touch, not even warmish. The queso was skinned over and congealed and cold. I had gotten the nachos earlier in the summer and they were good, other than being picky, like what are you supposed to do wirh 4 quarter inch thick jalapeño rings in a cup or a tablespoon of salsa fresca in a cup?? Beer was bad, a brew I've had before that was good, this batch was insipid and stale tasting. Will be a while before returning. Have had good times there spanning a decade, but the past several visits have been rough. Don't bother looking at anything else. I've already wasted time doing that. This is where you will eat. I was here for dinner on two consecutive nights, I made the mistake of going to Stockman's for lunch so I didn't hesitate to corrected myself that night. Their medium rare flat iron steak is really good. I'm not saying small-town-give-them-a-break-good, I'm saying legit-compared-to-Texas-steakhouses-good. The rib-eye wasn't anything special, I wish I got the flat iron both nights. Their beers are worth checking out also, I tried the Adventure Amber Ale, Wyoming Pale Ale, Sheppard's Weiss, and Out Of Order Porter, and the Amber is my favorite, but they were all tasty in their own way. First of all, this place has AWESOME beer. I think I tried about six different types over the weekend and I would order each of them again. A lot of small breweries do one or two beers well, but basically everything from the porter up to the IPA were excellent. (Note - beers are not super hoppy, so for those of you who go for that style you might not be as happy). I didn't get to the stout so that one will have to wait until next time. On to the food. Ordered the Reuben first time here, had better, had worse. Salads are fresh and large, and the steak that comes on top is downright incredible. Most restaurants give you chopped up overcooked chewy stuff, but at Wind River you get what looked like three quarters of a new york sliced in strips and perfectly cooked. I will have dreams about that steak... Came here on a Sunday around noon. There weren't a lot of customers, but the staff appeared chaotic. My group didn't get our food until about 35 minutes after we ordered. When the food finally came, the waitress looked at my burger, went "oh!" and then picked a hair off of my burger before serving it to me. She then said "You're not allergic to jalapeños, are you? Because we accidentally spilled jalapeño juice on it." I was so hungry from finishing a backpacking trip, so I didn't send it back. Instead, I grabbed a fry. Unfortunately, they were all ice cold. My burger was warm enough, but it was cooked well done when I asked for medium, and the egg on it was completely cooked through. I stopped by here a couple of Saturdays ago with my fiance and her parents for lunch. We found this place via yelp and were excited to see that it had an large outdoor patio to sit at which overlooked the main street. I would estimate that the outside could fit 60 people or so and it was nice as there were areas in the sun, areas permanently in the shade and also some tables with umbrellas. Beyond that the lighting was done with a ton of different colored LED light bulbs which I bet would have looked pretty fun at night. The first item that I looked for on the menu was for a beer sampler. I noticed that they offered two here, one that had a tasting of seven 5 oz beers and another that had twelve 5 oz beers. I ended up going for the 12 beer tasting which was only $12, how can you argue with that? All of the beers were pretty good as well with each different kind tasting like what I thought the type should. My favorite of the bunch ended up being the buckin' ordinary (great name too) which was an english bitters while my least favorite was the TKO, an english old ale that just had too much kick in it for my last beer of the sampler. In addition to the beers I also had the pulled pork sandwich with beer battered fries and a beer battered pickle. My sandwich was decent with both the BBQ sauce and pork being good but the bun could have been toasted better so that it didn't fall apart due to the BBQ sauce. The beer battered fried pickle ended up being the star of the dish for me as you could taste both the beer in the battering and the salty pickle. Lastly the beer battered fries were also pretty good as they were both hot and crispy although I only got a little flavor of beer maybe once. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Honestly I was impressed with both the selection of food and selection of beers here and really enjoyed my lunch out on the patio. read more

WRBC provides the perfect experience for those looking to enjoy nature... with some booze. There is literally one street/highway that cuts through Pinedale, and you can get your fly fishing gear, medicine from the pharmacy, and... a growler! Most people driving through here are probably adventurous and enjoy a craft brew, thus Wind River really knew what they were doing in this town of 1500. Heck, the elevation is 4 times as much as the population! The service is awesome, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. We sat on the patio on a breezy Sunday afternoon, and it was perfect weather to kick back 1, er, 12 5 oz. samples. They offer a tasting of all their beers for a mere $12! Great way to scout the goods at this awesome brewery. Some of my favorites were the Blonde, the Weiss, the Stout, and the Bitter. They were all unique beers, but I am no snob, so it would not do you any good for me to explain. Just trust me on this: the alcohol is great here! 60 oz. set me right for the road. When in the Pinedale area of Wyoming, do what the mountain people do. Drink. And drink well. read more

Great local gem. I had the turkey pesto sandwich with beer battered fries. One of the best sandwiches ive ever had. The sandwich had pesto on bottom piece of bread, topped with provolone cheese,turkey,lettuce,tomato and a thin swipe of mayo on top piece of bread. Mosr flavorful turkey sandwich ever. We were excited to come here since we were staying nearby and found out about this place from the innkeeper. It is a very neat building and there is really nice outdoor seating up on the patio. Although it seems kind of unorganized there (the host had no idea if there is seating available upstairs), the servers seemed very nice and helpful. There is only one vegetarian option, a black bean burger. It wasn't very good. There is a good selection of appetizers/sides that were pretty good. Maybe my mistake for ordering something beyond burgers. Our overworked waitress (Monday Night football was on) had no time to engage in any conversation other than "I'll be right back...".
