I obtained three estimates, and ultimately chose Evolution. I did not regret this choice. Jeff Kieffer came out the day after I called and provided an estimate and a proposed plan, and the owner, Diego Martinez, visited my house twice, once to explain how a difficult room would be accessed and serviced, and the day the work began to answer any final questions and give final directions to the installation team. The process was smooth and efficient: * The team arrived on time, were extremely courteous, and Diego, the owner, showed up and took the time to explain everything clearly one more time. * They handled the installation with care, keeping the work area clean throughout the day. No mess left behind--they even vacuumed up and wiped down areas they worked in. * The crew was knowledgeable, answered all my questions patiently, and made sure the new unit was perfectly sized for our home (no shortcuts or upselling) * They tested everything thoroughly before leaving, walked me through the operation of the new thermostat (Ecobee Premium), maintenance tips, and warranty details. It's only been a short time since the install, but the difference in comfort is night and day. Exceptional financing was offered, and the value of this project was perfect for my budget I also gained a new closet by moving the unit up to the attic! If you're in the Orange County area and need a new AC/heater system, I can't recommend this team highly enough. Professional, reliable, and genuinely focused on customer satisfaction. 5 stars all the way--thank you for making our home so much more comfortable!

For context, during this period we had a newborn and significant personal obligations. When the visit occurred, the noise did not happen at that moment and no technician evaluation or adjustment was performed as a result. I later recorded the noise when it occurred and shared video evidence. Despite this, no diagnostic visit was offered. My review reflects both the unresolved issue and how it was ultimately handled. After posting this review, the business responded by disputing timelines and attributing the issue to unrelated work, but did not offer to inspect or resolve the ongoing airflow/pressure noise, despite video evidence. The attic cellulose work referenced was recommended by their team and performed by a contractor they referred. I had an air conditioning unit installed by Evolution Air in 2021. Since installation, the unit has intermittently made a loud "farting" or bubbling noise. I reported this issue within the first year. A technician came out, but unfortunately the noise did not occur during the visit, so nothing was adjusted or fixed. The problem has continued since then. After researching the issue myself, I found multiple discussions on Reddit indicating this is a known and common problem related to airflow or pressure adjustment, and that it is typically an easy fix for an experienced technician. Despite this, the issue remains unresolved years later. Overall, I'm disappointed that a known, recurring issue reported early on was not properly addressed, and that I've had to rely on online forums to understand what should have been a straightforward adjustment. I have recorded a video and sent it as well.

THOROUGH EVALUATION We met with the following specialists: SEAN O'HARA (AC repair) - AC stopped emitting cool air. Fixed issue w/ filter repair. ALFRED BIRNHAUPL (AC leak repair) - Fixed pipe leak from AC and completed comprehensive assessment of our dysfunctional zoning system. DOMENICK ALONGE (project manager) - Reviewed findings from Alfred, provided detailed indication of issues and resolution options with several quotes. Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. We continued experiencing intermittent issues with our AC and heater so we called Friends & Family based on their excellent reviews. This time around, with Friends & Family, we left feeling knowledgeable and reassured, with reasonable quotes including various discount eligibility. We didn't feel pressured by them to choose one route vs. the other; rather, gained the information we needed to make an informed decision that would prevent such issues in the future. Overall, their attention to detail, ability to explain the issues and resolution routes in simple, concrete terms, were far superior than the preceding company. They exceeded our expectations and we much appreciated their patience and openness to answering all our questions. I also want to mention that I was gardening when SEAN was fixing our AC. He saw me struggling to dig a hole for my plant and volitionally offered to help me. He took the extra time to dig the hole for me, exemplifying his genuine kindness and generosity! Similarly, my kids were running amuck and screaming and shouting while I attempted to maintain a conversation with ALFRED. He was very understanding and continued to engage in conversation, appearing unbothered by the chaos with a pleasant disposition. Lastly, DOMENICK was appointed on the day of our son's birthday. He related to us interpersonally and even helped assemble my son's new Radio Flyer bike! I told him that Sean also helped me garden and we laughed about how Friends & Family is a "one-stop shop." Given everything I mentioned, we're excited to have our overdue AC/heater system fully repaired by Friends & Family. We can't wait for our longstanding issues to be behind us, and we anticipate leaving an updated review once the work is complete!

Today his team, Juan and Adrian, came out to diagnose an issue with the air conditioner. They arrived on time, they were efficient, and they were friendly. They were so quick to respond when I reported the problem yesterday evening (coming out first thing this morning). The upstairs unit unfortunately developed a leak, but to be fair, this was due to a defective part from the manufacturer and could have happened with any AC installer since it was outside of their control. Manipulation, lies, unprofessional…read more We hired American Comfort Air to perform routine summer maintenance care on our seven-year-old HVAC unit. They were referred to us by the company who installed our HVAC but who no longer service residential customers as they've moved on to commercial businesses. The technician who came to our home was on time and was very friendly. I had scheduled the appt also to check the air duct to one of the rooms in our house, because the airflow there has been weak. After spending some time servicing the HVAC unit outside, the technician came into the house to check the airflow from room to room, commenting that we have "amazing" airflow and agreeing that one bedroom had minimal airflow. He goes up into the attic to check it out. Comes down and tells me that the duct system in our attic is "terrible" and it "looks like whoever did it didn't know what they were doing and slapped it together". He also told me that he saw that the duct going into the master bedroom in the corner of our house was in really bad shape, that there was a kink in the air duct that was making all the rooms in the house have weak airflow. He showed me the "kink", where the duct simply wraps around one of the load-bearing structures near a corner of our attic. I pointed out to him that he already checked that corner room and said the airflow was "amazing" and that one of the other rooms off that duct also had "amazing" airflow -- he got the room wrong. It was the middle room that had weak airflow. He laughed off his mistake, continued to tell me that all six air ducts would need to be replaced. I asked him why, when the airflow to the rest of the house was exceptional. He told me because "they're connected". Full transparency: We own/run our own construction business and I helped rebuild this house with my own hands, so I'm not an idiot. I know very well that you don't need to replace all ducts to repair one. Not sure if he would've said the same thing had he been speaking my husband. The technician went on to tell me that we also need to rebuild the box attached to our main furnace, that the prior company made a mistake building a cylinder unit above it, when it needed to be a square. I asked him how an extra inch of square-ness would improve the issue we were having with the one duct. He told me that the cylinder was insufficient and that it would ultimately kill our HVAC unit. The cylinder, I pointed out, was built that way because we have multiple plumbing pipes that criss-cross around the space above the furnace. He went on to describe how he would customize a new box to fit the space, which essentially mean he would be creating ... another type of cylinder because you simply can't put a square box in the space. It was nonsensical. I asked him three times to explain why the entire duct system needed to be removed to improve the one duct that was having issues and he kept trying to convince me that the materials used and the way they were installed seven years prior was "the worst" he's ever seen. That he and his boss (Ryan) go to classes "every month" and know more than the average HVAC technicians. They're "experts" and clearly the company that installed our system were not experts and didn't know what they were doing. He then proceeded to tell me that the "amazing" airflow we had in the house was *too much* airflow and that the new duct system would make it "perfect". The cost to replace the entire system was $5700. I contacted the original team who did our installation seven years prior. He confirmed that it was absolutely not necessary to replace the system that a simple fix on the one duct would be the right thing to do, and then told me he spoke with Ryan Hall, the owner of American Comfort Air, who admitted to him that "they don't do repairs, they only replace entire systems" even if it's not actually necessary. That his technician is "sales driven" and saw an opportunity to "expand their business" because they only work on "larger jobs". In other words, they were taking advantage of me, willing to remove and dispose of a perfectly good system just to make money for themselves -- all while trashing the reputation of another business that is sending referrals their way. I know these businesses are trying to make money. I know there's manipulation taking place all the time, to convince us there's a problem where there might not be one -- I'm smart enough to see through that -- but to trash the company that is sending customers your way is a whole other level of unprofessionalism, and for that, you don't get any respect from me. If I could give you zero stars, I would. You just lost a customer.

HVAC gone rogue? You could do worse than to get an estimate from The N-Gen. We'll keep them on speed dial while keeping their last names private in the review photos. Their technicians fled our house before we could talk with them about it. Story - Our AC unit started not working and they were quick to arrive and investigate the situation. However, the first technician they sent out thought it was a problem with just cleaning the dust on our blower. Turned out it still didn't work properly after running it later that night - in fact our house got hotter. The same technician came back out the next day after we called NexGen and we found out he had forgotten to plug a wire back in for the condenser on our AC unit - this is a lack of professionalism and care in the work performed. Our AC unit then would only work for about 2-3 hours. We called NexGen to come back out and look at the issue again with a different technician who told us instead we needed a brand new furnace. The next day our furnace was installed, but during the installation, the technicians damaged our ceiling and tore paint off from the ceiling. They tried to glue parts of our ceiling back and it was done so poorly. They even left glue on our walls still. When my wife and I saw the damage done to our ceiling they had already left. I have been trying to get a hold of NexGen since they left and nobody has returned my call for the last 4 days since our installation. The lack of quality of service and attention to detail is embarrassing. The technicians they sent out were also talking loudly about how new they were to the Company - makes sense as to how much of a shoddy job they did.

My mom is currently on hospice care, and when another company's technician botched a routine service inspection and fried her AC compressor's motherboard, her home climbed to 88 degrees within days an unthinkable situation for someone in her condition. The original company wanted $22,500 (even with their "at fault" discount) and couldn't get the right parts for days. My husband called Haven, and from the very first conversation, owner Andres showed genuine compassion and understanding of the urgency of our situation. His crew, Ryan and Hector, were at my mom's house the very next morning installing a brand new system at a fraction of the cost we'd been quoted elsewhere. When they discovered the furnace's motherboard had also been damaged by the original company's mistake, Ryan and Hector didn't hesitate; they came back the following day and replaced the entire HVAC system. Throughout the whole process, they were hardworking, polite, and deeply respectful of what our family is going through. Andreas, Julien, Ryan, and Hector thank you doesn't feel like enough. Because of your honesty, fair pricing, and genuine care, my mom is able to spend her final days comfortable in her own home. If you need any HVAC work done, look no further than Haven. This is a company that treats people like people, not dollar signs. Ten stars if I could give them.

However, our last two experiences with this service provider didn't fair very well. But everyone is entitled to another chance, and as stated we did have an excellent relationship for a number of years. I was ready and somewhat reserved scheduling again, but called in and booked an appointment for a heating/air conditioning tuneup. Enter 19 year old Landon MacGill, Service Technician for Service Champions, a motivated young man with a terrific smile. Totally disarmed, I welcomed his explanation of what Service Champions would be accomplishing for me that day. While obtaining a system tuneup was appreciated, this review is for Landon and an applause for Service Champions in their decision to hire such a young employee...seeing the determination and possibilities this young man could bring to their service oriented business. Keep Landon on Service Champions, nurture his goal to be of benefit and service to others. Landon does your company proud and has won back the return of a customer who, without meeting this young man, would most probably not have been as welcoming with the arrival of another technician. While the offer of continued Reward Membership was nice, it isn't necessary. Meeting Landon was its own reward.
