Nothing wrong with Windmill the food is fine, it's ready pretty quickly, and the servers are nice. There aren't a lot of places nearby from which to choose to eat and this is where we always come when we're in town for work. My coworker and I were astonished at the prices for many of the items -- $15 burgers? I recall having a burger a few years back and I don't think it was that expensive. We also saw several salads that were $17. I'm guessing -- and hoping -- that they are very large salads. I got the meatloaf sandwich special for $10.95 and it included mashed potatoes. I like my meal. I would have liked to have added a side salad but we didn't really have time today and I was a little afraid of how much a side salad would cost. There's a nice gift shop here and it appears that the ice cream treats are a big draw though I don't recall ever having one or seeing anyone else having one. I did notice that a banana split was more than $10 which seemed expensive to me. I'm sure I'll be back next time I'm in town.

Solid choice for diner breakfast. Always go here. It could be busy at times. They have booth seating and regular tables.

Good food and all-day breakfast, great service and Isiah was our waiter, he was very welcoming and friendly.

Still a great spot for breakfast! Plenty of seating. Great prices. Perfect for true PA Dutch cooking.

The other servers also kept staring at us which was really weird... The booths were ripped up and in desperate need of replacement and the bathroom was dirty. Yuck. My husband and his friend thought their food was ok. I would not return. Prices are good though.

Clair's ended up being my absolute favorite, to the point that after I made my round sampling what everyone had to offer, I made my way back to Clair's tent three more times. They got my vote, and apparently enough other votes to win people's choice in the tournament. Soon thereafter, George and I took my wife to Clair's restaurant. We've now gone back so many times that we are practically on a first name basis with the servers. I have absolutely loved almost everything I've had from there. Even the stuff I wasn't as fond of was still good. My only major gripe is that a lot of the booths are not equipped to handle someone of my girth, and it's often a tight squeeze to get into them. I can understand though, they need to make them that small to maximize the space and fit in as many people in as they can, because the lines can sometimes go out the door. Still, I'm super happy we discovered this restaurant, and it's an absolute asset to the community. I hope they will be in the chili cook-off next year so I can see them win again.

Classic diner menu with over 100 items and lots of pictures. The vegetable beef soup and chicken noodle soup were both good. The open-face meatloaf sandwich with gravy was huge. My wife and I split it and had some left over. The meatloaf was sliced thin and was flavorful and juicy and they didn't try to get fancy and cram it full of giant chunks of onions and bell peppers, which I appreciated. The onion rings were stock diner frozen onion rings but were cooked well. I only had two problems. Anyone who knows me or my reviews knows I get pretty worked up about ketchup (and not catsup). It is bad enough not to have Heinz but this version of 'Fancy Ketchup' was just awful. Borderline inedible. The fries were also considerably underdone. Despite those two missteps, I enjoyed my experience and the meal on the whole was quite good. Would definitely go back and try something else if I find myself in the area again.

It's either a really bad thing or a really good thing that this place is a few hours away, because I think we would visit all the time! My husband is very picky about his burgers. He likes them well done, yet juicy; this place delivered. It was a fairly large patty, but he ate nearly the entire thing. That's a definite seal of approval. My brother-in-law got the French toast and my sister-in-law got the Greek salad, both of which were apparently excellent. She said her cup of chicken ditalini soup, which was a soup of the day and came with the meal, was a little bit salty, but that didn't stop her from eating the entire thing. I got a panini with marinated grilled chicken breast, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella cheese; I could only eat half of it there, but I absolutely took home the other half. Regarding the personnel: the gentleman who was the manager, I assumed, was very polite and seated us right away. Our waiter was very polite and efficient. Overall, if/when we visit the area again, I strongly suspect we'll be visiting this diner.

The omelet was delicious and the pancake HUGE! ;) The bathroom really needed cleaned as some one made a mess; I alerted the staff. But I would stop in again for a meal...

Here are some of the reasons for our disappointment: 1. Hospitality is significantly lacking! There is little to no warmth of personality in the workers. No smiles no guidance for taking orders of someone who professes it's their first time visiting. No one followed up to see if we wanted to or needed anything else after our food was received. They didn't even bother asking if everything was okay. Customer service has no personality nor a dedication to excellence. 2. To order/pay/ attain a menu, you must navigate and stand in line on steps which will be difficult for customers who may have disabilities or mobility difficulties. 3. High chairs are stored in the bathroom along with the toilet and other items for storage. This is quite disgusting as when toilets are flushed, particles are sprayed into the air and then will come to rest on the high chairs where patrons put their children to eats. Gross. 4. I specifically asked during the placement of my order if the sausage was spicy/peppery and was told "no", so I ordered it, only to have both myself and the other person in our party agree that it was spicy/had a kick. No syrup was provided either. 5. The toast was so hard it was like a rock and I never was provided with the jam that is clearly indicated on our receipt, and I was charged an additional fee for- nor did anyone come over to check on us or offer to bring it. Again poor service! 6. The floors and displays were dusty and boasted cobwebs. Observing staff clearing plates from tables I noticed that tables and chairs were not wiped/sanitized between customers. There are additional concerns we had about our first visit here, but I'm sure you get the idea. It is extremely rare that I leave poor reviews, but this one stood out and can't be overlooked. Just highly disappointed and I would never recommend this place, except for maybe a coffee to go, but nothing more. Save your time and money and visit elsewhere to avoid wasting it and leaving in a state of disappointment.

Country diner feel, nothing spectacular, you feel like you are home. You can see the regulars coming through and that's always a good sign. Our server seemed both rushed and annoyed in general. Like I said, I don't know if it's because they were short handed. We never got any coffee or water refills and it seemed like the order when it came out was a struggle. We had ordered hashbrowns for my daughter and they never came. The food is what you would expect from a diner vibe. Some really exceptional, some not so much. The pancakes were obviously a selling point, my wife's waffle was delicious. The sausage and scrapple were great for this kind of establishment. Bacon was stale and cold. The sunny eggs were actually cooked perfectly, which I never expect from anywhere, so kudos on that. The fresh fruit selection was bananas and thawed frozen blueberries. So you get what you get. Overall, stick to the pancakes, sausage and scrapple, steer clear of any fresh fruit options and don't expect much from the service if you aren't a regular. I'd still go back and try other menu options.
