The good: This morning I went to the coffee shop for the first time. Pastry counter looked great and k was excited to try The sausage kolache among other pastries. Interior is whimsical and clean. The bad: I was greeted by the barista support who seemed nice and welcoming. I asked what type of espresso she was pulling. She mentioned, decaf and some other espresso but didn't know the origin, yet the bags were right behind her. She asked lead Barista and she didn't know. Origin is an important characteristic in specialty coffee and suggest a training for this group today. Given the newness of this shop and all the options available for specialty coffee within 10 min of Dallas, with knowledgeable & educated baristas, I will not return. read more

I have been working from this coffee shop at least once a week for 2+ years now and it's the perfect little neighborhood spot to drink quality coffee and get things done or catch up with a friend! The owners, Kristen and Tom, are always there and are so sweet and helpful. The coffee itself is incredible and I'm from Seattle (aka picky!). Free parking, affordable prices, quiet but friendly atmosphere, and the comfy/cozy booths are my favorite things about the coffee shop! Oh and they have a subscription service where you can pick up or have your favorite coffee delivered - I have K pods shipped to me once a week. read more

The perfect coffee shop to visit, especially in the midst of COVID when traveling is almost impossible! Feels like you have stepped into an airplane. Airplane windows are painted on the wall and each coffee table is adjacent to a window. The trash cans are airplane carts, so cute! The environment is great for getting some productive work in too. Every other table is blocked off too for social distancing. Only downside is that they are closed Mondays and close by 3 pm on all other days (except Sunday it's 2pm). Also, the drinks were a bit overpriced for the quantity, but still tasty. It's a smaller coffee shop with indoor seating, so I can see it getting packed on weekends. This coffee shop is everythinggggg. The aesthetics, the coffee, food, and atmosphere are all on point. I worked here during the weekday and really enjoyed how quiet and relaxing it was. I was originally nervous about it being too packed since it was a smaller shop, but there was just the right amount of people there. I tried the Tres Leche Latte and the Sausage Roll. This is my 3rd time here and it definitely won't be my last. The coffee, food, and company is unmatched. I am sitting at one of their counter bars sipping on a Raspberry Sweet Latte, eating a Sausage Biscuit, and chatting with the owners as I write this. Cute little spot and I love the airplane theme. The wanderlust-y decor was a surprise and was very much appreciated since COVID has been raining on travel plans for so long now. The barista was friendly and quick and made delicious lattes. My parter's raspberry latte had a fresh and fruity flavor without any hint of artificiality, while my lavender and vanilla latte was floral and fragrant. We haven't been hanging around coffeeshops much in these social distancing times but I would love to spend a lazy morning reading in one of the cute booths when things are safer! read more

WOW! My husband and I have been living in the neighborhood for years, and were (and still are) Halycon regulars. A neighbor told us about Window Seat, and it's as adorable and delicious as promised! Window Seat is my new favorite neighborhood coffee shop. It's owned by a sweet couple and they opened up in Mid-March, right before the stay at home order in Dallas, so they are a small, local business that appreciate the support now that they are open again. I have ordered a latte and cafe au lait both with cinnamon syrup. Their coffee and espresso are very smooth and the flavor came through over the milk in both drinks. I've also returned to get the small loaf of zucchini bread twice in one week. The atmosphere is bright and calming and the decor is airplane themed. This should definitely be a go to spot for anyone in the M Streets. read more
