Was quite disappointed with our experience. We drove 20 minutes to get here to try this place out and for some specific drinks to try. We were told they weren't making them at that time as "they were busy" and to pick something else like drip coffee. Perhaps they should advertise what drinks they'll make and when they feel like making them. The drinks we did get were ok but nothing special or standout and not worth the drive. It's a shame because they appear to be trying and we got excited from what we saw on social media but like everything on the internet it's all fake hype. Pastries: Absolutely disgusting. Dried out, flavorless, junk. Not sure where they get them from but they taste worse than day old grocery store pastries. We didnt try the vegan ones but they looked much better than the horrible regular ones we had. Parking: Very limited 3-4 spots. It's a super awkward tiny lot and a bit of a challenge. Aside from that the shop looks cute and nice to sit in. read more

What a hidden gem just 10 min away from the Dallas downtown area! First of all, you absolutely can't beat the vibes here. They play vinyls, with tons of mixed table and couch seating as well as different rooms to meet any atmosphere you're looking for. Lots of windows with good sunlight as well, and free parking and wifi - you just can't beat it! During my visit they had a drip Onyx coffee, and I also got a bourbon maple latte (winter special). Absolutely delicious! I'd definitely come back to try more drinks. The owner is also so kind and personal, he took the time to learn our names and learn about where we were coming from. Really made the experience more special! Overall, I loved this shop and wish I lived closer - I'd be here literally all the time! read more

This is a super cute coffee shop in elmwood that i finally stopped in to yesterday. Its very non-descript from the outside but the inside is chill and had a great vibe! Parking is not terrible, mostly you'll park on the side street. Walking up i noticed the back yard/patio area first. Its pretty cute and they have corn hole set up. I also noticed a wheelchair ramp. The front has steps so if you need wheelchair accessible they do have it, just in the back. This is a house converted into a coffee shop so they have different rooms where you can hang out. Its so cute and so chill. I ordered a guava matcha and it was really good. That also get pastries from a local bakery and have a bunch of gluten free options which i love. I ended up chilling on the couch reading for a couple hours and it was delightful. I really enjoyed the music too! read more

Late review but came in a few weeks ago at 2pm, and Oscar and Michela were gracious enough to welcome us in! They were patient, kind, and Oscar was knowledgeable when giving us recommendations! We ended up getting a Matcha Soleil, Guava Matcha, and La Divina pour over! The drinks were delicious and pretty! I forgot to take pictures of them though which is a shame! The shop was nearly empty when we came in so I can't really give a review on the vibe, but there is a lot of seating, and I can see it being a perfect study/work spot! Overall, 10/10 experience we will definitely be coming back in the future! read more

Forgot to leave this review but needs to be put out there. Went here once, coffees took almost 20 mins, ordered some breakfast entree w banana and watched the girl eat bananas while she made my food. Which took an additional 5-7 mins. Overall won't come back, place was cute, but not feeling the vibe when there's 6 ppl in a kitchen area making coffee and food and it still takes 20 mins. Slow & Steady has the sweetest staff, a great selection of beautiful pastries (including gluten free options from Pinch of Salt in Grapevine), a location and space with good vibes, and really, really good coffee. They also offer banana toast, pb &j, oatmeal, and chia pudding! I had an iced latte with vanilla and cinnamon and drank it a lot faster than planned, haha, it was delicious. My friend had a hot honey lavender latte with oat milk which sounds heavenly and smelled even better. Then we got a few pastries to share; gluten free coffee cake (super moist with a great buttery crumble), gluten free lemon blueberry pound cake (dense and bright and delicious), and a homemade guava pop-tart with pink frosting and sprinkles. The tarts aren't gluten free so I can't comment on their taste, but I can say it was the cutest thing ever and also huge! My friend loved it and took some home to her fam. On a Sunday morning around 10:30 it was pretty crowded here with a decent line and lots of people waiting for their drinks. But everything moved along pretty quickly and steadily, even with a small staff. The managed everything well and they were really kind to interact with. I'm not in Oakcliff option but I'd love to come back and highly recommend Slow & Steady to any coffeehouse-goer. read more

This is a gem in Oak Cliff. The space is cozy and clean. Every little thing is made totally from scratch. The lovely barista was making caramel in a saucepan when I got there. I came here on a rainy day. The parking is very small but there is neighborhood parking available. It's a very cute area. Inside has a nice slow pace feel, it doesn't feel like other coffee shops, people are just genuinely taking it slow here and it's nice. I've been here a few times now and really enjoy it! There is lots of parking - they have a small lot, but lots of street parking available in the neighborhood. The vibes are chill and great for hanging out or getting some work done! There is tons of seating - 2 small tables on the front porch, a "living room" seating area, and lots of seating in the "back yard". They also usually have a record on. The baristas are super friendly and always do a great job crafting the beverages! I first came thanks to the Dallasites coffee passport and enjoyed a hot LA Mood (horchata and espresso) and iced 75224 (shaken espresso, condensed milk, and cinnamon) - both were very yummy but the next time I came back I got the 75224 again since it was a slight favorite! I've also enjoyed their coconut foam cold brew a couple times (they have other flavors for the foam to choose from)! Overall, this spot is a great addition to the neighborhood and I would highly recommend stopping by to enjoy a beverage and small bite! read more

First of all that CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! I may have had a lil uh-oh moment and spilled my entire matcha all over and the baristas were kind enough to help me clean up the mess and remake my drink (even despite me offering to pay again). It's these types of acts of service that cannot go unnoticed and need to be addressed because an embarrassing moment turned into one that makes me want to come back again and again. My matcha was pretty good. Confirmed that Slow & Steady does use ceremonial grade matcha that is not sweetened! This is what you want in a coffee shop offering matcha! I resorted back to a go-to order of lavender matcha & it hit the spot for sure. The space was super cute and spacious, but I do wish there were more tables to sit at. That would further make this place a great spot to work at or bring a book to read. I would say this coffee shop is great currently for grab & go, or bringing a friend to chat. Visited this location earlier today and ordered a 78224 iced latte and a chocolate croissant warmed. The barista was welcoming and helpful in choosing my order. The vibes were casual and relaxed with a more contemporary style. The latte was absolutely delicious, dare I say one of the best lattes I have ever had. The espresso had a well-balanced flavor, moderate acidity and boldness. The latte itself was perfectly balanced with condensed milk, whole milk, ice, and espresso allowing the flavor of the espresso and subtle sweetness of the condensed milk to shine. I ordered extra cinnamon which provided a delicious finishing touch. The croissant was good, but the chocolate was not melted and as a whole hd minimal flavor. I would definitely return for this latte and to try others, I would probably not reorder the croissant. Great place to hang out and get some work done. read more

The customer service here was absolutely amazing! We walked in and I was impressed with the kindness extended to the person in front of us who was having a hard time with their card. The staff showed so much grace and genuine care. Once it was our turn the staff talked amongst themselves and stated it was so much more important for the individual to have a good experience than anything else. When I got my coffee I didn't love it (I like my coffee ridiculously sweet) I was ready to buy a different coffee but they asked if they could make me a new one or if I prefer they could fix mine. The initiative to make sure I loved my coffee took me back. They apologized profusely for my coffee not being sweet enough and it wasn't even their fault. Service and kindness like this is exactly why small businesses matter. We will be back and will tell all our friends about it. Thank you guys for such a great experience read more

I've gone here for over a month and probably will continue when I really need coffee only because of the proximity to work and the high of the coffee but every time I come in, which usually is at non peak hours and I'm the only one in line, it takes over 15min to make my cortado and heat up a pop tart. This has happened nearly every time I go. The baristas as sweet but have no sense of urgency or efficiency when it comes to making orders. I speak as someone with years of barista experience in local coffee shops. I write this in hopes that workflow improves. Please be mindful that people have places to be. I literally can't imagine, as a barista, what's happening that take someone 20 min to make one simple cappuccino or cortado when there are no other orders in line. read more

Popped in here because they were the only coffeehouse around open on Thanksgiving day and so glad I did -- great staff, great coffee (plus a small case of pastries), great vibe. You're really in the Elmwood neighborhood when you're here but the large lot and view of the main street make it feel like the best of both worlds. There's a parking area with 3 spots for convenience and a cute little window seat inside plus a small porch with a bistro table.
