I called their 1-800-353-1769 number to ask for their license number before scheduling an appointment for a consultation and the representative & supervisor refuse to provide it. I was advised that I would need to schedule an appointment and the person that arrives would provide his/her number, which leads me to believe their a MIDDLEPERSON. They are merely a company who profits by hiring a 3rd party to do the work. This is why they do not know or cannot provide a license number. The reason for my 1 star post is because they were very rude to me over the phone. Buyer beware, these guys are not friendly when coming to give a free estimate and are not willing to work within a specific budget. Howard "the High-pressured Salesman" came out to give us a quote....Started out great, pick out your window, color, stain, vinyl etc. We said "hey can you speed this up? We don't need the heat lamp spiel." He obliges "Ok, no problem....He writes up a quote of $15,000 for 3 windows and a "Custom sliding door" because it wasn't a standard size (Bullshit, the sliding door we have is standard, just trying to upsell us because we are new, young, home-owners." We say ok, we're done. Thats way over our budget, thanks for coming. He then says well what price are you looking for and we said definitely not the price your quoting, you are way out of the ball park. He then re-adjusts the price with different style, basic windows (which is what we were asking for to begin with), insults us, tells us we are asking for a cadillac for the price of a cavalier. Presents us with a quote of $4980 and I said much better, we will get back to you...then he raises his voice and says, "No, this price is for tonight only. Take it or Leave it." I say See ya later, he then continues to insult me in my house and refuses to shut up when I keep saying were done. He left us with a scribble on a piece of paper of a quote of $6030, since the quote of $4980 was only for that night. He kept insisting on us to finance when we explicitly told him, we were not financing and spending $15000 for 3 windows and doors. What a crock of shit. High pressure sales at its finest. I get that he is out to get the biggest sale possible, probably because he is commission based and I totally understand. He should however be more welcoming when his first quote gets rejected and work with the home owner on getting the price to a more reasonable range and not insult the home owner in doing so. This company is awful. They promise you great service and product up front. They sell you hard. Well the sold my wife and I. We bought 7 windows from them. Their service was the worst service I've ever received. Here are some reasons why they are so bad. #1 It took 23 months for our windows to get installed. They had to come to my house 5 times to install windows. On the 5th time they finally provided windows that did not have any defects. I had to waste many hours of my life at home waiting for them to come, install windows, then take them out after I found multiple defects. All in all, their products come with defects from the factory quite often, they dont inspect the windows before installing them, then hope the customer doesnt notice. #2 They are unable to communicate with their customers. When there were delays in our order, they never bothered to let me know. After the first delays, I asked Window Works to call me in the near future with an update on where the windows were at. They never called me. I followed up again and asked that they again follow up with me. They never called me. #3 Through all these issues the company used the excuse 'We're a small family owned company that is growing'. I asked to speak with the owners then since they were owned by a small family. They never got me in touch with the owners. #4 The installers dont always show up when theyre scheduled. There was a weekend I stayed home from a trip to get my new windows. Well the installers never showed. And nobody ever called to tell me they werent coming. Window Works wasted a weekend of fun I had planned. #5 The first set of installers they sent did a sub par job. They left all kinds of pencil marks where they made cuts. They didnt bother to remove their writing on the parts they made with pencil. #6 They caulked around my windows. A year later their caulk was separating and now I have to redo it. I spent thousands of dollars on sub par workmanship. read more

After having my new bay window installed last year, it has been leaking on the inside to where mold Is growing on the window sill. It has been since winter, Window Works has been out doing "water tests", and caulking the crap out of the window. Final call is today to see if Window Works is going to stand behind their work. The salesman knew his stuff and made a fantastic presentation but that's where the service ends. The first install date was set for the second Monday in January and I was told by the original sales person that all of the installers would be in-house. The weather was going to be questionable but WindowWorks called and confirmed on Friday, so I took the following Monday off of work. I received a call on Monday at 11:00am and the 3rd Party installer stated that he was not coming because he could not get a hold of the main office. I had to call and leave a message myself only to find out that the salesman who sold me my windows was no longer with the company. A second install date was set up and the 3rd party installers showed up 2 weeks after the original install date. They also did not come prepared and brought the wrong window for the bathroom. The temperature outside was approximately 25 degrees and it took them 2 hours to install the first window. It only took them 30 minutes to get the old window out, so for an hour and a half it was freezing inside the house. After 8 hours they had 5 windows installed but they were nowhere near finished. They came back for day two and rushed through the finishing work because the installers had another job to go to. There was no walk through and after looking at the job they did, it was not worth the thousands of dollars we spent. I documented everything that went wrong with the install and took pictures. The flashing was subpar, the caulking looked like an amateur did it, one of the windows did not open and close properly, and some of the screens were torn. There was a draft coming through the corner of one of the windows because they removed to much of the siding and there was a hole where the elements came through. They did not caulk any of the quarter round and half of the screw caps where missing on all of the windows. Some of the sills were damaged and where they made a mistake in the flashing, they would just pile on caulk. I contacted the main office and told them everything that went wrong and they ask me to send them the pictures. After they reviewed the pictures they made an appointment for a supervisor to come to the house. I confirmed the morning of the appointment that the supervisor would be my residence and left work early only to have the supervisor be a no show. He called me later that day and stated that he would come to the house that evening. When he arrived it was too dark outside for him to see the exterior so I had to show him the pictures. He agreed that the interior work was done wrong but made excuses for the installers. He told me to send all of my pictures to him and that he will write up his report. I had to follow up with him and he handed me off to an office manager. I told her that I am not confident in the previous installers ability to fix what they had done, seeing as they were confident in their previous effort. She promised that they would accommodate my requests and have a supervisor on seen to make sure the work was done right. Once again I had to initiate the follow up. The install supervisor told me one thing and the scheduler told me something else the day prior to them coming out to fix the install. The original install team showed up in the morning without a supervisor. He had no work order and did not have a clue as to all the previous correspondence with the managers and supervisors. They started to argue with my wife not thinking anything was wrong and they stated that they had another job to go to so they need to hurry up. When I got home They started arguing with me and telling me that everything needs to have more caulk. I told them to not touch a thing until the supervisor arrived. I called the service department several times and all I got was voice mail. The installers left and another supervisor arrived. He also had no work order and I had to walk him around the inside and outside of the residence to show him what I had shown 4 different WindowWorks employees. He admitted that this was not a good job at all. Two weeks later they sent a second team to fix the mistakes. The tempered glass for the bathroom was at the facility but they did not bring it. For the 5th time I had to walk them around and show them everything that needed to be fixed and they did a good job. Till this day the tempered window has not been installed and the screen still has not been fixed. I've had to follow up because no one is on top of it. I see all these commercials for WindowWorks and I cannot believe the claims. What we went through does not sound like the image they are trying to portray and if you write a negative review on there site, they will remove it. If i could give zero stars i would ! Find someone else to install windows that are worth the money! Has been the absolute worst experience that ive had with any company and they dont want to take responsibility for their own problems that has caused me to take multiple days off of work for scheduling dates that didnt even happen and time off for when they have come out. Julie and Karen seem to run the show and tell you they are sorry but dont want to compensate you for any of your time. The windows are cheaply made and are only replacement not new construction like the sales guy lead me to believe and i even called back after to confirm this but took a week for the sales guy to call back. Placed an order for windows and were told they would be installed on July 26th. The installation date was changed to August 7th because there was a back order on the windows, supposedly. We were upset because we are currently rehabbing our entire house and are trying to move our family of 6 into the home by the end of August. The windows are holding up everything. Now, they are trying to change the installation date to August 23rd. When we asked to speak to a manager, they tried to appease us by offering a 50 dollar credit for our inconvenience. What a freaking joke!! Fifty dollars to wait another month without a home to live in. You know where you can stick those 50 dollars My Window Works. We want our windows. NOW. Never again. I cannot recommend this company. I am pretty happy with the windows, so if it was just their project I would give a better review but their service sucks. first off, I was told that it would be a one day job. ok, great, get it done on a Saturday and I don't have to disrupt my work schedule. well one day turned into two. They installed on Saturday and finished on Monday. On Saturday I arranged with the installers that they would give ME a call when they were about an hour from bring done and I would come home, look things over and pay they the balance of the funds for the job, Well my wife came home at lunch to take care of the dog and the installers started harassing her for the balance of the money, so she is calling me upset. and I had to dart out of work to go take care of it when if they had gone with calling me an hour before they were done I could have wrapped things up and gone gracefully. Then some of the windows were so hard to open that 1 had to struggle to open them, I have no idea how my wife would have opened them. I mentioned this to the installers and they said they would inform the company and they will schedule a guy from the factory to come out and adjust the spring tension in the windows. Well after a month of waiting I try to get ahold of them and I'm given the run around, it takes 2 weeks or so just to nail down a date to have this done.... like 3 weeks later because I want to be the first stop so I don't disrupt my work schedule any more than I have to. so the day finally comes when they guy is going to come fix our windows. He is friendly and polite. He does his job quickly and well. It would have been great had he not been over an hour late. I feel and hope that the windows themselves are as good as they seem to be (lifetime transferable warranty, Low-E, etc) but dealing with the company itself is horrible. I was able to get a good deal on a bay window. Installers spoke a different language, but overall the experience was fine.

I was sold on the sales pitch about customer service. My sales guy Bill said the company would price match Felco on a certain model of window. I got the price and it was $160 less. He said to text him a copy of the quote and they would honor it. I did that. Fast forward to today. My install is tomorrow and he is now claiming that it's not the same window. The reason I picked Window Works was because of the customer service he sold me on. Multiple phone calls today/text to my salesman and problem not resolved. Bill gave me many excuses why he would not honor the price the day before install and told me to call his boss. Talked to Jim, said they would reduce the price and he would send an email to confirm. Less than 12 hrs to install and problem still not resolved. Salesman Bill also said I needed to replace window in my living room because a seal had broken......little did he know it was replaced the previous year and it was just condensation from the rain and humidity outside. Sad to think, I have to replace almost all my windows and this company lost out on a big sale because of this experience. read more

Zero stars. We ordered one custom garden window and paid quite a bit for it. These guys had to come out 8 times to get our window installed, and they did it on the second floor using their truck and a few planks as scaffolding. When the first rain came, the whole bottom and corners got wet. When the next heavy rain came, the entire top of our garden window leaked so badly we had to put bowls out to catch the drips and cover the entire windowsill and floor with towels. The water is in the walls as well. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more

Do not use this company. I should have reviewed here before ordering. We had a similar problem as the others listed. The salesman promised anything we wanted. We had most of our house windows installed last year by window works as well as siding and gutters. Very little problems then other than long delay on completion. Recently we contracted them to install the last two windows we needed and a patio door. After a six month wait, they seem to have changed manufactures and nothing matches our previous windows. Window style, hardware, color, and trim are all different. The only thing that I did like was the installers are very nice and clean. We were told I should not have signed the contract without knowing exactly what we are getting. Just filed a complaint with BBB. We will have to see what happens. read more

My house had the original old windows, my husband and I start shopping around, we called couple of companies including this one"window works" We scheduled an appointment, Their website looks good but then I read the reviews on yelp, so I called them back and cancel, they call me right away asking me to give them some time to show their product blah blah blah bunch of BS excuses. I agreed to continue with our appointment and give them a try. Two man showed up the day of the appointment, very nice sales man, they spend about 3 hours in my house, when they left I noticed a big scratch on my beautiful dark wooden table, sucked but we didn't said anything about it. After a month and a couple of visits from a guy to measure our windows they finally called us to give us a date. The day of our "appointment " nobody showed up, not even a call. We took the day of got up super early, took our 3 dogs to day care(not cheap) and they just didn't showed up. So we called the company and they gave us a BS excuse again!!! Ok they have us another date. They showed up this time(yay!!) the installation people was GREAT!! But again the WINDOW WORKS PEOPLE send 4 wrong windows and wrong color storm door. We called the company and some VERY rude and ignorant lady answered, she told us that that's was in our contract and that we had to pay extra for them to change the windows and door. I almost forgot about hey called couple of times trying to get more money that what they ask for the day of our appointment. Anyways, they sales man wrote down the wrong order and we have to pay for their mistakes!!?? I don't care what they wrote on their stupid contract, I know what I order for my house !! We have been calling the company several times and don't even bother to call back.... and the couple of times they called they are rude and incompetent, they keep transferring our calls to other people back and forward like a ping pong ball. As I'm writing this post a lady just called me telling me the same thing about their stupid contract over and over telling me that she can't help me... and ones again blaming the sales man and leaving this problem unresolved.. people I don't think that we US customers deserve this kind of treatment. The most positive part of my experience of having Window Works install new windows in my home was the actual installation date. They make their own windows so it takes a few weeks, but once they were ready to install we weren't. Graduation, vacation, etc. They were very understanding and flexible when we wanted installation to occur because we wanted to be present. A salesman came to my mom's house on 6/14. His name was Tom, and he was one of the most rude and condescending people I have ever met, let alone someone who was trying to have us sign over nearly $12,000. Many of his comments were inappropriate for an interaction like a consultation. He made comments about "young people not knowing anything", "being politically correct" but talking about a huge deal he had made with an "Indian family", and insulting my mom and I. At one point, my mom mentioned to him that he was using a word incorrectly. I am the type of person, especially if I'm trying to sell something, that would want to make sure I'm saying things correctly. He kept referring to a "door closer" as a "door closure". When my mom mentioned this, his response was "do you have an English degree? You must be right". I felt that a comment like that was completely uncalled for. If someone doesn't know their own product, it would make me less inclined to do business with them, but after a comment like that, there was absolutely no contract signed. My mom also knows someone who has been in the commercial door industry for over 25 years. When my mom mentioned the closer versus closure issue, the salesman followed that up with "well, why aren't you using them as your contractor?" He seemed bothered that we asked questions and didn't just sign away. Another thing that bothered me about this interaction was how poorly he measured the doors. It honestly didn't even look like he was trying, and then informed us that our door was not standard which would need to be cut custom and would increase the cost. We have since learned that we do have a standard door, and I had even suggested lowering the threshold to meet the space to avoid cutting the door or to compensate somewhere else in the installation to avoid the extra cost. He rolled his eyes at me and told me it wouldn't matter. Unfortunately, this didn't end here as we then received follow up calls from three different women in the office. The first two women that my mom spoke to, she was on the phone with them for about 20 minutes each. The first woman didn't write any notes about the interaction. The second woman wrote "homeowner was upset" as the only note, and the third woman promised a manager would contact my mom. It is 6/22, and no call from a manager has been received. I try to be fair and I understand that this is most likely not how everyone at the company behaves or acts, however, I felt that Tom's behavior was absolutely uncalled for. I felt like he spoke down to my mom and I when we were trying to understand and get a fair quote. It is horrendous customer service to make three calls to the same homeowner and not have accurate notes from previous interactions. I sincerely hope that this information has been taken to heart, and as a company, you can move forward to provide better customer service and a better sales experience to your future clients, but we will definitely not be one of them. read more

I will start with the 2 star rating so far as the experience that I am encountering I'm not too thrilled with already. First, we had Pella come out and they did a nice job of presenting, but we were shopping around so Window Works is our next appointment. Started at 6 ended at 9:30, but the salesman was a really nice guy so I can't complain there. What I'm worried about is that I'm not getting a full job done as I'm going to be paying a lot fo 6 windows, but out of the six only 2 are getting the trim installed. I was under the assumption that it was a full job after I got the estimate and already signed the contract. Once He told me it was not included it would be an additional $400 to do the trim job. I should have walked away then, but I figured I can do that myself. I till be less than $100 to do. I was not offered any gift cards only to learn about them as I was at the gym. There was a $400 gift card for Walmart! SO I called the next day and was told I did not qualify because I needed to spend $6,000 or more...should have saw that coming, but I am getting the nice $50 to the ones that everyone mentions.... Work is to be done at the begining of next month, so let's see if that experience goes well before I change my star rating... I should have checked this first!!! read more

We were a little reluctant to choose this company based on all these bad reviews, but we really liked Mike, the salesman we had and discussed the problems. We went ahead and ordered 11 new windows. They were finished being made a week earlier than they had said, and installation was extremely efficient. We were called on Sunday, and they came out on Friday, the first day we were available. We had Tom and Ray as installers, and they were professional and did excellent work. They cleaned up everything - even vacuumed the inside, and took all our old windows away. We LOVE the new windows and I would definitely recommend this company. The price was also thousands less than our next quote. UPDATE: OK, well, a revision - three screens were defective. Ray said "Oh, we will take them to the warehouse and re-screen them and bring them back in 2 or 3 days". TWO WEEKS LATER - NO SCREENS!!! Three bedroom windows - this GLORIOUS summer weather, and I CANNOT OPEN THE WINDOWS!!!! Many phone calls and emails later they have finally found the screens - only IT'S a HOLIDAY WEEKEND and we can't get them today. Very frustrating and I would NOT use this company again. This place is horrible. During the install the window frame was cracked and they installed it anyways. I called and they sent a guy out to fix it after I waited 6 weeks for the new frame. When he showed up with the new frame and said it was to late to install it l. The frame has been in my garage since then, no call backs , not a thing! My front door that was installed is the next disaster. During this winter we were unable to use the door as it was not measured and installed correctly . I have called multiple times and they say there is nothing wrong with the door. I called the real manufacture of the door, paid them to come out. They gave me a paper stating the same thing I said. The door was not measured or installed correctly. I still have heard nothing!!! Going on a year now! My install took 6 months as well. And the director of sales did not even have a license to drive because of a DUI and the company still has him driving around. The owner Ron V does not help customers or will never pick up calls. Replacing our windows and adding a bay window was our largest purchase since buying our home last year. We had contacted 3 other window companies before reaching out to Window Works. When Bill met with my wife and I, we knew right away we were in the right hands. Bill took the time to get to know us and our plans for our home, not just the window sale. Previously listening to 3 other estimates, it was a nice surprise that Bill wasn't a robot. He took the time to ask questions and address our concerns about our current renovation and future projects. With Pride he was able to describe the product and without belittling any other competitor, explain certain differences. Being in sales myself, I respect his way of offering a solution. Kamil was in charge of coordinating the final measurements and scheduling the installation. Kamil was friendly and professional and extremely patient with us. Our biggest concern was replacing windows in the middle of a relentless Chicagoland winter. With ease and reassurance, Kamil orchestrated the behind the scene steps to get the job done. Our installation was a month ago and we couldn't be happier. Peter and Mark came by around 9:00. They took the time to lay down drop clothes throughout our house and then went to work. I've never been more impressed with someone's work ethic. I can't think of a time they had stopped working for more than 5 minutes. They worked in freezing temperatures and their craftsmanship and attention to detail was noticeable. When we were told the entire job would be complete in 1 day, I had my doubts, but when they wrapped up around 4:00, I had became a believer. We don't have the most nicest house in our town, but the work they had done to our home made us feel like we did. My husband and I need to replace the windows in our basement and 2 entry doors. We will be contacting Window Works and hopefully working with the same guys that had assisted us in our first project. The team was professional, patient and proud. I would encourage anyone using Window Works (especially in the West suburban area of Chicago) to GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. After being given an estimated 4-8 weeks time by our salesman to have a patio door installed (and circled the timeframe-but not signed-on the contract) we were told it would actually be 6-12 weeks. The door took 14 weeks to be installed (2 of those days were due to weather) AND WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. 17 weeks later we are currently still waiting for them to come back for a 3rd time to fix errors. We have used Window Works in another location and did not find any concerns so perhaps it is just in this region, but we have had nothing but bad experiences from the sales to installation. Again, if you decide to use their product, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING and signed by yourself and the sales person, and don't accept and pay for work until the work is to your satisfaction. I had window works come out and replace an old picture window in my dining room. The window looks amazing! The salesman worked with us on the price and window style to get just what we wanted. From the outside, the window blends in like it was here the whole time. And on the inside, they brought casing trim for the window too, which I did not expect. Bravo! read more

What was that!! The sales guy came in for an hour in the evening, and was polite enough to say he could come again the next day (as it was dinner time for kids). Came on time the next day and presented how his company's windows are the best and all that. I had already mentioned when he came in that I could give him only an hour. So far so good. Then I don't know how the conversation turned around, and he seemed to be pushing me to make a decision right then, and why I am wasting his and other's time if I haven't decided yet on how many windows to replace. I said I wanted to get estimates first from other companies, need some time to discuss with my wife, and then make a decision which he didn't seem to like. What is wrong with that! Don't waste your time or money. Hired them to replace 17 windows in my house. Every "custom made" new window was scratched, chipped, jagged handles, dings..it's like a nightmare. We waited over 2 months for them to be installed and they look like they were pulled from a dumpster. They also did not come back the next day to complete the work and then when I called I was told they didn't know why they never showed but they'll be there the next day. Again, no call no show until I called and was told they were running late. Why should the customers have to be hunting these people down? They pride themselves on 100% satisfaction but let me tell you that is not the case. They left my home a disaster with drywall, insulation, and dust EVERYWHERE. Giant piles of garbage all over my home. My counters and tables were covered in drywall debris. Trust me, take your business somewhere far away from this place. read more

My experience with this company was very disappointing. I met with a rep of theirs for an estimate for window replacement and was quoted $1,500. I called this person a week later wanting to move forward. He was unresponsive to my attempts to reach him. I then called the main line and asked for another rep to meet me. The lady on the phone confirmed that the estimate was $1,500 and that I would have to meet with the new rep for 15 min the next day. I arrived to the project only to be told by the new rep (after he was on the phone for 15 min) that the $1,500 price is not accurate and that it will be $3,000. I asked him to leave. Sales, the professional measurement and the assistance I received to get the windows approved by my association was outstanding. The installation team cleaned up and the openings were closed quickly not allowing the elements or bugs in. I was so pleased with the help I received, that I ordered an additional four windows. This outfit did not receive 4 stars because the screens are the weak link. This is not a fault of WindowWorks as they did not manufacture the product but of Armanclad. I actually spoke with someone from the manufacturer and chided them for all the issues with screens not only with the first batch of window screens which were all damaged but the next batch as well. Do yourself a favor, and order half screens for your windows as opposed to full screens. Again, the sales process and the support I received from those in the office was second to none. The life time warranty of the product is also a big plus. read more

This place has turned out to be a complete joke. I never receive a call back when I leave a message, nobody knows what's going on. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I purchased over $20,000 worth of windows back in early July. It is now the end of October and I'm still waiting. I find out today there will be further delays due to some manufacturing defect in the windows. The only reason I found out was I had to call Window Works to confirm my installation appointment and get transferred around to 3 different people because no one knew what was going on. I was also informed there would be further delays. Funny how their contract says 4 - 8 week install time but they can breach the contract without recourse. Now I'm out thousands of additional dollars because my new install date is unknown and I had to cancel appointments and be home for the installers which will not happen. Thanks Window Works! You really screwed this one up. So much for using you guys on my other rental projects. read more

Window Works, Inc. did a great job in removing and replacing our casement window. Had it done last fall. The window quality is excellent and most importantly so was the installation. We had a problem with carpenter ants affecting the sill area. They removed the damaged parts and replaced with new wood. The new window was framed and insulated professionally. We hear less outside noise and the drafts that came from our old casement are now a thing of the past.!! Will definitely be calling you again for any subsequent home projects. Update to my previous review. Window works has given me 2 $50 dining gift cards, which are hardly worth anything. What these are are a $50 gift card to restaurant.com which is a site where you can buy a coupon to a restaurant, the most you can spend is $10 at a time. So you purchase a coupon for a discount on a meal that you still have to pay for. It isn't that you're getting a free $50 dinner date. It hardly makes up for finding screws and nails months later in my yard and friends parking in the street where the install crew's truck was parked and leaving with nails in their tires. Also my mother in law was promised a $350 referral bonus and so far has only received $100, when I contacted window works and asked about it I was pretty much told "no that's what she gets" and she was told the same. More empty promises and None of this has fixed my crooked kitchen window or the breach of contract and lack of professionalism by my install crew, although it's nice to hear apologies. read more

The windows are excellent! The energy efficiency makes a difference in the overall look and comfort of the home. I have since noticed a small flaw in one of the window screens. Except for the little incident with the neighbor over parking space, the installers were professional. I would definitely recommend their services. read more

Do not hire this company! We mistakenly hired this company to install new windows on our covered porch, to replace the original painted shut windows. The windows, sure they look nice, but it has not been worth the trouble at all. In April 2016 our windows were installed. Ever since the installation, we have been constantly dealing with the service department to adjust our windows so that they close properly. The windows would not close at all after being opened for an hour and we would have to take the screens off and manually pull the top of the window into the house in order for them to close and latch fully. Window Works even sent out the manufacturer to our house at one point and they said the sash was not true and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer even did the measurements and when the sash came in, it was the wrong size! After it was replaced again, the problem continued. Every time someone came out, they tried to tell us that the window was borderline too big and all I could say, if it was too large of a window, why do I have 5 that close and 1 that does not. Finally, after over a year later, the technician said that the entire frame (which Window Works built) was originally put together incorrectly and needed to be adjusted. It took me 2 months to talk to someone other than the person that answered the phone in the service department to ask about a partial refund on the original installation, which was wrong all along and never was looked at. Once I finally spoke to a supervisor person, they said they do not give refunds for warranties. The piece they did not care about was that nothing was broken, it was installed incorrectly from the start and we went over a year with non-functioning windows. They wrote us a check for $75 for our trouble, when the original bill was north of $8,000. We felt that we should have been refunded a portion of the original installation charges due to the window being put together incorrectly from the start. More recently, I had the opportunity to call Window Works again because one of the locking mechanisms broke and the window can no longer be opened or closed at all. Hopefully this time they can fix it in less than a year. Lifetime warranties are nice, but installing windows that work and can be used would be better! Do yourself a favor, hire anyone else for your window needs! read more

I would give them no stars if I could. We ordered our windows from this company back in July. They were installed in September. The installers dropped 2 windows that they were taking out and got glass all over my neighbors driveway. They did a poor job of cleaning up the glass and we had to bring our dry vac out to try and get the small particles up. The neighbor has dogs and I didn't want them to get glass in their paws. One of the windows did not fit right and the top sash had to be reordered. I got a call at the end of November saying the sash was in. I scheduled the install for December 2nd, took off of work early to get home in time. Installer never showed up. I called window works the next day and they were very apologetic saying they didn't know what happened and they would send us gift cards for our trouble. Never received any cards. I got called back and they said they didn't have the window and had to be ordered. I then got a call two weeks ago saying the sash was in and it was scheduled for January 9th. Low and behold just got a call January 8th saying that they didn't have the window and has to reschedule again. They said it was a bottom sash which I called them to correct this to be the top. We have been trying to get this resolved since September. Don't use this company. I wish I would have read the reviews before signing their contract. The sales person said that they had great customer service.. Don't believe it. read more

We had a nice salesperson who sold us a beautiful bow window, but now, 8 months later, our bow window is leaking profusely in our living room. We never had water before the installation of the window. We called WindowWorks, they had two different people come out from the company who basically told us, put a towel down at the base of the window and it will be ok. They were nonchalant with the whole situation, did not take responsibility for the major water issue we are having, and then told us there are numerous people with the same issue we are seeing. Obviously, if it is not an isolated issue the company needs to fix either the product, the installation, or both, but most importantly they need to fix their customer service and response to problems with their products. read more

I wouldnt even give this company 1 star unfortuantely this is not an option. Stay as far away from this company as possible. Im sure someone will delete this email so it is not on the company website, but dont worry it will be posted everywhere! You might as well take your money and throw it down the toliet bowl because they provide a horrible product (definately not one that is presented), bad customer service, installation terrible (especially if you want to spend hours fixing their problems yourself). You;ll regret spending all this money. Read the reviews- I regret not doing this prior to signing a contract. We had 3 -40 year old wood rotting windows replaced that still looked better than the product we just had installed 1. Customer service is terrible!!!!!! Call after call, I was told that we have your information we will get back to you. No calls. Have to call to hound to talk to someone. No one is helpful. 2. Product! They show you this great product during your appointment, but when it arrives there are multiple problems with the product. I couldve done a better job manufacturing the product myself. again you call and complain and it seems as no one cares. The day the windows were installed I had mesh coming apart, scratches, window latches broken, the latches are cheap and hard to open and close the windows (not smooth how you would expect with new windows)...ect the list goes on and on and who the hell knows when it will be replaced. 4. Trim painting. We paid extra $ to have our windows/trim painted. No one called to schedule an appointment so our windows look horrible, I was told that 2 days someone was going to call to schedule an appointment... still waiting. 3 Installation.. I dont even know where to start. They come in and out of your house without wearing shoe covering so your spent 2 hours after they leaving vacuuming and moping the floor. It felt as if they rushed through the instillation process just to be done and go home. The finished product was messy and not professionally done. I dont know where they found these people. Damaged all of our dry wall around the windows after walls receiving fresh paint. I wish I had pictures I could post. Again my husband is going to spend money and his weekend caulking windows and fixing walls from the damage they did. PLEASE DONT USE ANOTHER COMPANY. YOU'LL REGRET IT. read more
