Consultant Bryan Witt was very rude and not knowledgeable about the store products. I explained to him that I was interested in purchasing a front entry door for a three flat building. He informed me that I needed a commercial door, when I asked did he have a display door, I was taken to the back door of their building to view a commercial door. I immediately informed him again, that I was looking for a front entry door. He walked me back to the front and preceded to search for the store catalog. When Bryan found the book he slung it across the table at me. The service was terrible, he repeatedly told me that the door I wanted would cost around $5000 on up. I made him aware that the price didn't matter I was interested in a quality door for my building. The service was just rude and disrespectful. He actually sat down with me, took out brochures from multiple window manufacturers, and walked me through the options. He explained the pros and cons and made sure I was making a choice that fit my home and budget. The other two companies I met with didn't do that--one (a well-known company from Orland Park) just took quick measurements and gave me a verbal quote for one brand, and the other simply emailed me a price afterward. Alvano even brought a small demo window to show how everything works. That level of effort and attention made a big difference. 2. The Results: I wanted to wait until I'd gone through both summer and winter before posting this review. I can honestly say the windows have performed great--much better than what I had before. My utility bills have gone down, and I'm really satisfied with the quality and comfort they provide. 3. The Price: Evergreen wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive--right in the middle. I had my doors installed 5 years ago and was given a 10-year guarantee on the PVC elements. Earlier this year (February), I noticed cracks and got in touch with Michael to request a review. It took several weeks for him to come out. He suggested someone may have tried to force the door, which doesn't make sense, I live in a quiet, safe area with no signs of tampering, and my neighbours would have alerted me to anything unusual. He said he'd contact the manufacturer and get back to me. Since then, I've followed up multiple times by phone, text, voicemail, and email, with no real response. On the rare occasion I did reach him, he always said he was "just about to contact the manufacturer" but never followed through. It's now been over 5 months with no resolution. Michael was friendly and helpful during the sales and installation process, but if anything goes wrong afterward, it seems you're on your own. I had 5 windows installed on 2-4-26. The crew Woitek and Jose were right on time and quickly brought their tools and drop cloths to the job site. Woitek explained everything about the windows and answered all my questions in regard to quality and construction. They worked hard expecially in the cold weather and were very polite in their demeanor and personalities. Woitek pointed out a defect in one of the windows which had a gouge in the frame of the window probably caused during shipment from the manufacturer to the my home. He took a picture of the gouge and assured me that a new piece would be ordered and replaced as soon as it comes in. They finished installing the trim and caulk and cleaned up nicely after they were done. This was a fine experience and I was in trusted hands with Evergreen! read more

I was in the market for a new patio door. The sales person Bryan came over and provided a demo on the efficiency of the glass using a heat gun. He unplugged my Toaster oven/fryer so he cold plug in the heat lamp. The next morning I was toasting bagels and noticed they were NOT getting warm. It occurred to me that when Bryan had unplugged the toaster but he did not plug it back in. When I grabbed the plug, I noticed one of the prongs was badly skewed. I tried to see if it would fit in the socket, but sparks were flying. I took some pictures and sent it to my uncle in Reno to see how to repair it He told me not to try to straighten the prong as it was too badly bent to one side and that could possibly result in a fire. I called Bryan and explained the situation to him. He insisted that he come out to straighten the prong. I told him the electrician said not to straighten the prong because it was a potential fire hazard.. Bryan indicted there was nothing he would do if I didn't let him restaighten the prong. I ended up bringing the toaster oven to a small electrical repair shop. They told me not to bother with repairs. It would cost more than the toaster oven was worth. I ended up paying $125 to get a new toaster oven of similar compatibility. Needless to say I did not take the contract from Evergreen door and window. They lost the contract because they damaged the oven refused to replace or compensate for the damage. I could only imagine what would happen if there was a problem with their product. They must have enough money or business to treat new customers like crap! Take a pass on them. Asked for a window quote and received nothing detailed - only received one price for all six windows. When I requested Specs and Details on the window quality I received an email stating that the price would be only if they installed all 6 windows and they needed to be done together, NO specs. Is it too much to ask for some details on what you are buying? Like Wood, Vinyl, Alum. Etc? Labor separate from materials??? Giving up on this company, 60 years is long enough, too bitter, let it go. Update post manager comment: Whoever responded to my comment is at best oblivious to Evergreens actual business practices or at worst lying. The very first thing I said to the sales guy was the reason I was replacing was because of the lead paint and my house is very clearly built before 1978 (by 68 years) which requires lead safe practices by law. It wasn't until I questioned them on how they would handle install that they gave me the option of a lead safe install (which isn't legal, there's no legal choice to replace them in a non safe manner). That they gave me a choice which way I wanted to handle it was when I knew I wasn't going to be working with them. I never had that issue with Valdicass or Pella. I called them to get one window replacement quotes on our original windows of our home that was built in 1910. Sales guy was nice enough and helpful, but when the topic of how they handle products in a lead safe manner came up I was told that legally replacing the windows would be extra. Any company working on homes built before 1978 is legally required to comply with certain lead safe standards, and they made it very clear they were not doing that and would charge extra to handle a hazardous material properly. Maybe they'd be a better fit for newer homes, but any company that shows me poor ethics like that isn't one I'm willing to work with. I ended up going with Valdicass and was happy with Pella direct as well. I wouldn't single Evergreen out if other companies had done the same, but of the three I worked with Evergreen was the only one that didn't adhere to lead safe practices. read more

I was referred to Evergreen Door and Window by a friend of mine. Her doors looked amazing so I decided to give them a try. I was very impressed by the patience extended during our initial visit by the salesperson. He stepped us through the various options available ( a TON) and made recommendations on colors which would match the exterior of our home. We decided to order two exterior doors. Now enter the pandemic. Our 6-8wk quote was pushed out to 12 wks, but hey - it's a pandemic - not the company's fault. Ergo why they are still receiving a 5 star rating. The follow- up from staff as I called for updates was timely and I was able to speak with the owner during my last update who even went so far as to call me from his cell phones because all the business lines were occupied and he wanted to make sure to get back to me in the time he quoted. Next come installation - absolutely amazing. Both doors are beautiful and our installer gave suggestions as to how to make adjustments to ensure our doors worked best for us. Storm doors - good storm doors - are expensive so make sure you pick a quality company and I highly recommend this one! read more

We continued to have water leak and seep into our basement from the sliding door. It did significant damage to the brick inside of our house so that had to be redone and tuck pointed. We had to remove the whole sliding door, completely replace the whole door frame and metal flashing and seal it all up again. This has finally stopped the water seepage, but the extensive water damage had already been done. The whole frame had rotted completely through as you can see from the photos. read more

It's hard to find an all around solid construction/home services company. There are things they do ok and things they do poorly. For some people the good outweighs the bad. For this company that's the bar for success. Clearly they make a good deal of money especially in the home repairs/construction boom that occurred in 2020. My installer although quite gruff did a nice job installing and the door works perfectly 99% of the time. It will not close entirely as it pops up with a little force from my toddler son. Something to be unhappy about, absolutely. Something to have a guy come back several times and redo maybe not. My next gripe was the coloring of the door. What my wife thought the color was going to be was actually the wrong side of the swatch. We inquired about it with the installer so he checked the order code and it was correct (but not the shade/color she thought). I called about it and it took nearly a week for someone to call me back. They claimed the swatches would be in her hands at the end of the next day. Of course they weren't and we did finally get them a week or so later in the mail. What do we do now? Our old door was long gone and scrapped. Do we wait 2-3 months for another door? What were the options? Well we were not presented with any and not even get a canned apology. In the meantime we still owed half the bill. Sometimes the stress of life gets ahead of you and we neglected to pay the bill for a few weeks. It just slipped our minds. One phone call reminder voicemail while at work passed and one bill sat on the shelf. Then while at work I see a voicemail from Bob from Evergreen (must be their collector) saying it's been long enough, to call the shop or stop by with payment but then adds I am stopping by your house for the payment. My wife was home with our son and Bob shows up. Under the guise of being nice and trying to chat with my son it was absolute intimidation towards my wife. It was highly uncomfortable for her and very inappropriate. Sending someone to your home for payment is intimidation plain and simple. There is no excuse and no apology for this to happen regardless of how long the bill wasn't paid. Will this review make some people think twice about Evergreen? I doubt it but it should. Shop around and do your research. Maybe they are the only company that fits your needs but make sure you pay your bill even if you are unhappy with the outcome otherwise Bob is coming for you! read more

He really listened to what we wanted, why we were getting a new door now, and helped us find the door we wanted. We weren't ready to make a decision that day, so he sent us home with books and told us to chose a few doors, and he would price them, and we would figure everything out when he came to our home a few days later. We found the door and glass we wanted, and it was installed about 3-4 weeks later. It looks beautiful! We have had neighbors stop and tell us how great our house looks! We love it. The installation went smoothly and the guys who installed the door made sure that the rest of the living room didn't get covered in dust, and I appreciated that so much. He was also very knowledgable about their doors and windows and gave me some much needed advice when picking out my door. I am glad our relationship only lasted just over one year. I am giving them a 1 star because they made a good recommendation on the windows I had replaced last year and I have to say their installers does a pretty descent job Me trying to keep my business local did not work so well for me when I had my front door replaced and what was delivered and installed was not what my wife and I thought we signed and ordered. The door was very expensive and nobody at Evergreen and Window wanted to help fix the problem all they suggested that I spend another $1000 to fix the slab. So this year I figured we need to replace the remainder of the windows and went back to them for an estimate and now I am wiser and refused to pay their deposit and since I am a cash buyer and a repeat customer I saw no reason why I should pay the deposit. For one they screwed me over with this door that we now have to live with and I felt they could at least step forward and said sure lets start fresh. So yes they have their policies and I have my principles. They chose not to do business with me and I chose they never set foot in my house again. Good riddens read more

Salesman was incredibly disrespectful. I live near Evergreen Door and Window, and wanted to replace my front door. I thought working with a local business would be a good idea. Stay away from these people. Not only are their prices exorbitant, I was shocked out how dismissive, disrespectful, and frankly how bothered the sales representatives appeared to be. When Brian entered my home he did nothing to make it seem as he was interested in making a sale, but rather spent his time insulting my home and staring at me like he was surprised I existed. When we went over the prices and potential door samples he literally threw the pens, stickers, and brochures at me. When I spoke up that I didn't appreciate him throwing things at me, he said that it wasn't a big deal. I'm sorry, you're in my home and you think you can just throw things out of your bag at someone without even looking at them? When we discussed door security and safety, he said "It's not like anyone would want to break into a place like this." I wouldn't give this company the time of day. Thought I would have reveived my quote when the sales rep came to measure, but didn't. Was told I should have at end of day or following day. Called on Monday asking for my estimate, was told he would send it and still havent received, it's now Tuesday night. October 2016 I moved into my first honecwhere I ordered two doors from EVERGREEN windows and doors one iron door for my back entrance one steel door for my front entrance I also ordered an awning to replace an old awning that was already in place on the day of the installation of the awning I was not at home however I noticed on my cameras remotely that there was only one installation man for such a large awning when I got home it appear to be on the house properly. When the sales guy came out Jim we talked about size and color and style but we never went outside and inspected the side of my home on February 22, 2018 not a complete two years later my Awning fell off the side of my home after numerous attempts to make contact with Jim I did you someone in the office they sent out someone from the awning company they explained to me that I would need to pay $275 to have the awning put back up I question how sold it was not put up properly I explained to the man for an awning of such size it should've been larger screws and fasteners to hold it onto the wall as well as our anchor brackets that usually underneath on it on the side they explained to me that it was not their problem but my prom because of the extreme weather conditions I explained to him that I've been living in Chicago all my life 48 years at the time and I and I've never noticed anybody's on it fall off the side of the home basically I gave EVERGREEN window and door a one because I did lock my doors and I feel as though they were properly installed but on pot upon further inspection.I write this bad review because EVERGREEN Window & Doors did not handle the situation properly read more

Evergreen has unbelievable customer service !! They installed my doors and windows 19 years ago. I called them a few months ago because the double pane window in 2 windows had air between the glass. They replaced it for a minimal cost for labor. Now the screens have an issue with the frame... again 19 years ago, they are replacing all of my screens!! So happy I went with evergreen so many years ago. If I ever need to replace these I will use them again. I cannot say enough good things about them! i recently purchased 8 windows for installation. one arrived cracked during transport from the business to my house. no big deal, but i also had a quote for trim on one window. they were going to replace three out of the four sides? not sure what happened with that but when i tried calling my salesman, after 6 days he still hasn't returned my call. he was great selling me the windows, but then after my deposit, i can't reach him. i also had to call the company to find out the information about the cracked window. wouldn't recommend read more

I originally had other ideas but their pricing was very competitive to another quote I received from another company. I was extremely satisfied with the work done and I highly recommend this company. I didn't get any up-selling attempts which I found really annoying wheb another company attempted to do so. All I need is for someone to provide me the facts and if it makes sense to me, I might end up requesting the work anyway. Very bad company to have installing anything.. Had them install a door and steel door and needed to watch their employees all through the process... Were going to install door on a sill that when I stepped on it moved up and down... Medal door from Home Guard has to be installed multiple times because they did not fix or made backwards. I had to inform the employees from Evergreen that the sidelights were wrong...And then I needed to point and show them.... Very bad service since I needed to be there 3 times and at no time did Evergreen over to pay for my trouble... BAD COMPANY..... Look elsewhere read more

Our salesman was very friendly and knowledgable and came in $500 cheaper than Feldco for the exact same door materials! Install was great and we love our new door - only reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars was lack of frequent communication - I had to follow up several times to get updates on our order. Evergreen transformed our back interior doors. Their sales rep, Jim, was very knowledgable and it was easy to get an appointment and drop in the showroom. Once our custom doors were made, installation was prompt and professional. They had a pretty complicated installation (taking out the frame and transom) and they fitted it perfectly. We had one small issue with a deadbolt lock fit and they came out quickly and fixed it. Now our back doors are both much safe and way more energy efficient. My husband and I went to the show room and picked out the door we wanted the sales man said he needed to come out and re-measure now this was Oct.2015 then he came back on a Sunday for payment and said if we paid in full we would get a discount so we did BIG mistake, This is now Jan.2016 and still no door my husband call and asked about the door and the lady said it has been sitting there and someone would call us back to set up to come out to install it well still no call.
