I wish I had looked at reviews here before contracting with Window Works for siding. I chose them because they were highly rated in Best Picks Reports for Northwest Suburbs. I now know better than to trust that publication! Like many others who have posted out here, I was misled about timing of my project. It was urgent that the work done as quickly as possible because my existing aluminum siding was going to be damaged as part of a roof repair. This was all explained to the sales rep who was confident the work could be completed during the first couple weeks of December. I ordered siding in October with assurances that it would be installed in December, barring terrible weather. All was well until the week I was supposed to get a call with my install date. Up to that point I was told I'd get a call at the beginning of December to tell me the specific date of install the following week. I received no call. I waited a week and then called them, and the excuses began. "You are on our list to call.". "Installations are behind schedule, weather affects it" - this despite an unseasonably mild fall thus far, etc. They told me I might have to wait until March or April. The services manager I spoke with indicated that the sales team regularly over promises on timing, putting the services team in a difficult position. After extreme complaining on my part they finally scheduled the install for mid January. Update: Window Works did come through with the January installation and the work was done well. I've given them another star based on this, but can't rave about them due to being misled by the sales representative. read more

Had the chance to have these guys come out and quote me on new windows and a door. Wow! What a great product demo they did...I had old single panes with ice forming on inside glass and rotting storm windows they showed me how I could save more than 30% on my energy bills with their new "high efficiency" window and glass patio door...they absolutely have best product on market and I ordered new whole house replacement with them after they showed me their lifetime warranty, that transfers to new owners and includes up to 3 free free replacements per window! Their prices were not even barely more than some other competitors prices but window works had far far better product...their easy financing made the decision easy for me...thank you window works...my neighbors will be calling you... read more

I received an estimate from Window Works. It was very pitchy and I was pushed very hard to sign a contract on the spot. I was not interested in signing on the spot and was given discounts if I did. I was also offered discounts for writing multiple reviews of their company. Ultimately, I did not have work done with this company and they called my home phone and cell phone (both) EVERY DAY for over a month. I never answered the calls, they never left messages, they just kept calling. It was awful. I am now writing my review and not getting a discount for it! read more

Salesman came out and very nice, gave us a deal that day. We liked everything about the construction and benefits of using there windows. 1 of those being, glass was 98% UV rated to prevent damage from the sun. We had the wood floors sanded and recoated thinking now we have UV protection. Well 2 years later our wood floors are faded. Called company and got a person saying "none of our windows are rated that high". I told him that the brochure says 98%. I then asked to have someone to come to the house and look. "No we cant do that unless there is a problem". He was to get a hold of our salesman and going on a week with no follow up call. So this makes me believe that there windows may not be what they advertise which makes this false advertising. I am going to pursue this matter by finding out from another source to find out how much UV is coming through there windows. I also have a great lawyer that loves this type work. read more

We had windows replaced for about half our house last fall. We are now doing the other half of the house this fall. Yes, the sales pitch is a little over the top, but you can negotiate a fair price. The windows were on time and installed professionally. Two windows had scratched frames, and were replaced quickly, without question. Great service and quality in my experience. These windows definitely kept the cold out during a record cold winter. My neighbors replaced all of their windows this summer, and are happy customers, too. read more

I would give them Zero stars, if it wasn't for the quality of my front door. Ordered the door in August 2016, Installed "terribly" in November, Installation team came back un-prepared to fix in December, Re-moved and re-installed in January "terribly again", Came back out again in March to Re-Re-move again and re-install "A for effort but not yet installed well". Continuing problems with door sticking when closing and opening, air and light seeping through, terrible job caulking and cracked trim pieces on the inside of door. They need to take pride in their quality of craftsmanship with the $$$ I spent. Installation managers assessing and agreeing to my issues, not being on time, front office customer service and managers are a joke. Their is a lack of communication between their departments because all I've experienced is me calling them, re-telling my issues, wrong orders being made, terrible communication with me the customer, scheduling and being late on your schedule date. I should only be dealing with 1 front office representative through this whole process. I can go on and on about my experience but it would end up a book. Every promise they made has been broken. I have wasted time off work for a door install, unbelievable. They recently came back in Sept 1st only to find out that the installer didn't have all the pieces. He told me they would be in stock the following week and he would give me a call. One week later(Today) still no call from him. I had to call the front office again and complain. I wouldn't agree with the other three reviews. I wanted an estimate to install new siding on my house but the estimator wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone or via email. He wanted to meet with my wife and me in person to get an estimate which sounded very suspicious. When I explained I moved 1200 miles away, he wanted me to fly in to meet him. Outstanding sales process and installation, and by far the best experience with a contractor we have had since moving into our 1904 wood frame house in 2007. Mike Cook was great to work with in the sales process, he was extremely professional and listened to our needs and provided a perfect solution. We did our front door and all 5 windows on the front side of our house and get constant compliments from our friends and neighbors. After we signed the contract we read some poor reviews on Yelp and we were concerned, but Mike assured us they would do a great job for us and they did. The installation was flawless, and as professional as the rest of the process. I know there are different Window Works locations and I cannot speak to the service level and professionalism of those locations, but Mike and the Bloomingdale office did an incredible job for us, the value we got on this far exceeded our cost. Could not possibly have gone better or smoother, already planning on more work with Mike. read more

I highly recommend Window Works! I had a great experience from start to finish that I'm writing my first review ever. From the salesperson, customer relations specialist who coordinated the order/delivery/installation, to the install team - what a wonderful experience. I purchased a custom front entry door with sidelites. The door was completed on schedule, beautiful, excellent quality and workmanship, looks like real wood; however, has all the advantages of fiberglass and steel. It will last longer, stronger and maintenance free. The install team arrived on time, professional and did a perfect job! Excellent company, staff, install team, and customer service!!! read more

I would describe my experience with dealing with WW similar to dealing with the keystone cops. First of all, I needed siding and ended up with both windows and siding. I would consider the sale pretty easy as I am a price buyer and was pleased with the discount they were offering at the time of sale. I made up my mind in one sales call with little discussion. My salesman Tom should have been rather pleased with the ease of sale. I went with 0% financing for 12 months and wrote a check for probably 40%, give or take. The pre-installation experience went from bad to worse. 1. Danielle was my contact for the financing. I received the partially completed credit app for signature and noted that my mortgage was about 3x what my mortgage actually is. When I questioned it, Danielle said, 'it doesn't matter, just sign and return it". I replied, "yes it does matter if this is coming off my credit report." She proceeded to argue with me and it was not until I asked for her mgr did she stop. I spoke to the mgr, who was unable to assist and told me that they either did not have access or could not share my credit report even though it was my credit report. She could not provide me with a number to call or any assistance. So I contact the 3 credit entities and long story short, I had forgotten that since co-signed on my daughter's NYC apt, her mortgage would be added to my credit report. So it was okay, but certainly something Danielle should have taken seriously. 2. The work done was at a rental property I own and not at our home. When someone called looking for me, she was told to replace the home number with my cell and to call my cell. She called my cell left a message and then called my home number. My husband told her to wait for my return call and NOT call our home. Someone called at least 4 more times. It wasn't until I called a mgr, that she said "oh let me change this'. So the 4 previous people, though they said they were making the change, did not. The follow up with my HOA required my reminders to WW to actually follow up and provide the detail the HOA required as we could not commence work without written approval. 3. Installation was at first scheduled on a Fri, when I called to voice my concern on starting the work on Friday, I could not get a straight answer. No one I spoke to could tell me if the windows were being installed first or the siding. After multiple phone calls and requests to get back to me with concrete information and no one getting back to me, I called the sales guy Tom. Remember him, an easy sale for both all new windows plus one slider and new siding and gutters... well he said he would find out and 'get back to me'.... I never heard from him. Well, the sale was done, why should he be bothered. Finally, after multiple phones calls I found out that windows first. Day of installation, windows is first. The crew was good. When I returned at 6:30p, there were 3 windows left to install. The head installer said 'we were down a man, this is a 4 man project, otherwise we would be done. I asked if they could finish in the morning, but no, they had other customers. Apparently, those jobs were more important than mine. The work was completed in the dark.Next the side was installed, again the installers were good and I was pleased. I had left 2 sliders and 2 half moon windows out of the original order. Of course as with all projects, once complete the original looks shabby. I called FELDCO to come and give me an estimate since my experience with dealing with WW was so frustrating. When the 'field inspector' came to look at the windows as I was concerned with the fact that they were completed in the dark. I mentioned that because WW was so inept, I was getting a quote from FELDCO. Long story short, after several price reductions from the 2 company's FELDCO wanting to take a dissatisfied customer from WW and WW not wanting to lose business to FELDCO. Anyway, WW reduced the price by $800.00. Okay, for $800, leaving the job at $7000, I will give them another chance. Remember this is on top of the original windows (16) and siding. We scheduled a time for the sales person, not Tom as he does not return phone calls after the sale. The day of the scheduled appt, I arrived early at the house. My husband calls to say the sales guy is at our house. Apparently, the WW office gave him my home address and not the rental property. Needless to say, I exploded. I call WW and when I was transferred to the Sales Mgr Rob, in anger I said 'you can take another $500 off". Instead of replying I can't believe we sent the guy to the wrong address, I am embarrassed and I apologize, but we have given you a considerable discount, he said 'well that is not going to happen'. Well Rob, the $7800.00 job is going to FELDCO. In addition, I have added WW to the "DO NOT USE" list of contractors with the HOA. I hope that WW takes a good look at their operation and comes to the conclusion, customer service is critical. read more

I just got windows installed. What a rip. I thought I was buying replacement windows; instead they are just inserts. I had called them after the order and they said they would replace the window frame. Big lie. Instead they took out the sashes, cut out the rot, and nailed some scraps in to fill in. Then stuck in an insert, covered up the sides with aluminum, and caulked. Now I'm stuck with windows that are much smaller. They don't even open all the way. read more

Salesman came out to my house to quote the replacement of two exterior steel doors. Spent 1 1/2 hours of my time extoling the virtues of his product and company. Gave us a quote which he then graciously reduced by 20%. We thought it quite high and told him we would be getting additional quotes. He argued that his was the best deal we could get, as he said, "it's a steal". Second quote the next day by a competitor was $2,500.00 cheaper! His quote certainly was "a steal". We were subsequently contacted three times by the company, the first time telling us that they had made a mistake with the quote and wanted to come out again to re-quote to which we said no. In spite of that they called us twice again. read more

I just had a visit from Window Works today. A terrific presentation and I truly got the impression that the gentleman cared and had tremendous knowledge. Then everything went downhill! The quote was sky high and of course he offered a discount after that quote, if and only if we decided today. I told him we would think about and he left. He then knocked on my door about an hour later with a lower price. I again said we needed time to think about it and he left. Amazingly enough the guy knocked on my door AGAIN about an hour and a half later! He said the president of the company really wanted to get into this area of town and he would take another 15% off the price. I can't say how weird I felt and I asked him to leave and back off. I finally let him know a bit later that we wouldn't be doing business with Window Works. I fully understand that these guys are on commission and that companies are in business to turn a profit. But why not just quote a fair price right off the bat and then allow people to take the time to make an informed decision after looking at as many options as they like? If the product and services they offer are so superior, wouldn't a confident, reputable company let their work do the talking? This company may do quality work, I don't know. But I certainly wouldn't ever do business with a company that uses sales tactics like this. BTW, when they do their sales pitch they claim that all the negative Yelp posts are phony posts generated from their competitors. Based on my experience today as well as some of the others I've read here (which were eerily similar to mine) it's pretty obvious that the majority of these negative reviews are legitimate. read more

No, no, no, no, no... WORST experience ever! I do not know how they even have anything close to a decent rating with the BBB. The representative (salesman) who originally came to our home to give us some information on their products, started out with a price of almost $7,000 for a single, front door! Somehow, after feeling like I was buying a car (pushing a piece of paper back and forth across the table with lower and lower numbers on it...) the price came out to about $3,000; how they can decrease by such a significant amount makes me feel like I was getting ripped off from the get-go and he was just trying to see how much I would be willing to pay. It took THREE months for an installation date to be scheduled. I never heard from anyone confirming the appointment. I called a few days prior to the scheduled installation date to confirm the appointment and was told that the appointment was scheduled for 8 a.m. and I would be the first appointment of the day. Well, the installation date came and the installation time came and went. I called the office again and was told... Oh, no. He won't be there at 8 a.m. He'll be there at 1 p.m. Ok......... Thanks for letting me know. Well, 1 p.m. came and went as well. I called back and was told "that department" that handles the scheduling has left for the day. I advised that I needed to speak to someone, ANYONE as I was waiting idly by for an installer that I knew in my gut was not going to show. Finally, I was able to speak to someone in the elusive 'scheduling department.' She told me that the installer was running behind and could be at our house at 3:00 p.m. I advised that I didn't understand how he could be "running behind" as I was told we were the first appointment of the day. I asked to cancel the order and was told the manager would call me back to confirm. I have not heard back from a manager. When I called and asked to speak with one, I was told that they weren't at their desk. I left a message and have not received a call back. OBVIOUSLY, I will be using a different company and IMPLORE everyone else reading this review to do the same. If you like high pressured sales tactics, no-show installers, unresponsive managers... Then this is the company for you. Otherwise, I would have been completely and utterly happier, had we simply tacked a piece of cardboard to the front of our house and called it a day opposed to trying to purchase a door from this company. The reviews speak for themselves, i have the EXACT same problem as other customers! This company is full of it, not only were they EXTREMELY late on their installation date but when we finally scheduled a day they were late on that very day. We got a phone call from one of the installers saying he's only got 1 installer & lack of equipment/tools due to management not providing him with the proper paperwork to guide him on what to bring & what to do. I lost count of how many broken promises, delays, phone calls & reschedules we have been through. The salespeople are like any other in the other industry, they are silver-tongued & attempt to be charming with their presentation at the expense of customer gullibility. We payed our TRIPLE-DIGIT DEPOSIT in OCTOBER 2014 & were promised service 6-9 weeks from then. Mind you we are in FEBRUARY 2015 & TO THIS DAY all we keep hearing is excuses. I am tired of going back & forth with phone calls. This is for anyone considering their services: STEER CLEAR & do not waste your time. Pick another worthy company! Note that i kept this relatively short on purpose, there is much more to the story. I tried to sum up the problems but believe me this is only the tip of the iceberg. Judging from all the customer complaints i can safely say that lying & deceit is their pastime. Its baffling how they are still operating, i do not know what the owners or management are doing this whole time. You would think any respectable company would abide by their legal contracts but i guess i was wrong! I had Howard the duck Reisman to come out last week for just a QUOTE!!!!! He measured the windows all of them when I had asked for only 2. Instead of giving me a quote on the 2 windows he quoted me a price of all the windows. Giving me all kinds of discounts. I told him i wanted just a quote and would run it past my son. Showed me the product, which all salesmen will do, then wanted me to make a decision then because he came hour and half away. Told him I was just getting quote's for now cause I had other window people coming too. My son was working in Bolingbrook and could not make it or else he would of asked him to leave. He got upset and said how will I explain the window to my son, got into can I afford this and do I want to start an account? No to all, As I told him I wanted a quote. NONE of the other window people were this rude. They gave me a quote and said call if interested. He would not even give me a quote on the 2 windows. His feeling was to do all the windows for this great price NOW. Not going to happen.When sales people start getting into your budget and who makes the decisions here and being rude is a turn off and reflect on the company. To which in his book of people there was none in Woodstock, Illinois. I can see why. I am not moving the blinds in my house just to put in your windows. Another job for me. 8 sets of blinds and the patio too. He went out of my house like a little baby pouting all the way. Slammed his car door. Now that is a salesmen!!!!! We are replacing 16 double hung windows in our sunroom and wanted a few estimates. Saw a window works commercial and called. They insisted both my husband & I be present for the initial estimate (that should have been my first red flag). They promised it would take less than 1 hour of our time so I scheduled the estimate. A very high pressured sales person demonstrated everything before ever even looking at the room where the window replacements would take place (second red flag). Took TWO hours - by then we were begging him to leave (had other things to do). He gave us a very high price yet said if we signed today, they would discount that by 1/2 (third red flag). Assured us that price was only good for that day - I showed him to the door. A couple days later, someone from the company called and said that salesman was new and could now offer the price even cheaper yet we had to meet with another salesperson. Told them absolutely no more meeting with high pressure salespeople and she hung up. Do your research on this company - BAD NEWS!!!! read more

I'm on the board of a Chicago condo, 13 units, and ran the project to replace the building's windows. We replaced all 150 windows, including special storms for the lobby windows, and glass blocks for the boiler room. We got quotes from 3 reputable companies, and Window Works was the lowest when all was taken into consideration, plus they said they could do the job in a week, while the others were saying 2 to 3 weeks. All went nearly flawlessly (a couple of windows were incorrectly sized and had to be reordered, no biggie on a job of this size). The sales people, the guys who came out to measure every window, the installation team, all were friendly, efficient, and first rate. Any mess in the units was extremely minimal, no one in the building had a bad experience, and the windows themselves are first class. What a huge difference for our building with old cheap windows from the condo conversion! I can only think the preponderance of bad reviews here relates to unhappy customers being more prone to write reviews, because our experience was stellar. read more

I am so frustrated with Window Works! I placed an order back in November, which was supposed to be installed before the end of the year. They FINALLY came out to install and they measured incorrectly. After leaving many messages with the customer service manager and sales person, I went into the headquarters to have my issue resolved. While in headquarters, I witnessed another frustrated customer (an older gentleman) being belittled. THEY NEED MAJOR TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. It is unacceptable to talk to people they way they do. They also tried to convince me that the call center must have given me the wrong voice mail since I didn't get a call back. Well....I called the number on their website and THAT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY. Nor is it my responsibility to try to track down someone to resolve THEIR ERROR and take time out of my day to go to headquarters and demand resolution. While the product may be good and the sales people and installers did a great job, due to their lack of customer service I would advise people to STAY AWAY! read more

After they failed to win my business to replace my windows, they keep calling me every other week to see if I have any other projects. I finally decided to give them another chance to replace all my gutters. I already have $3,000 quote from other company. They came to my house promptly and measure everything and gave a price of $4,167. I told the guy the quote is too high and I will not use them. Couple days later, one of their director of business management pay me a visit and promise me $2,600 to win my business. I call them back two days later and ask them to start the project and let other company ($3,000) know that I will not go with them. After wait several days, one of their sale rep call me and told me they can not do it at $2,600 and they need raise the price to $2,800. I am very angry about their quoting games (low ball to make you drop the other companies then reverse the quote) and can not keep their quote price of their director. I told the sale's rep never call me again. For those who consider using them, please check twice before you use them. I called this company and several others to get an estimate of my windows that need to be replaced. They were the first company I met with and when the sales guy entered my home he asked me where my husband was and that we needed to reschedule because he won't meet with me without my husband. I explained that this was my project and my job was to get all the estimates and when my husband gets home from his business trip we will go over them together. He said in a condescending tone, "so you are the decision maker?" I said yes and explained that I was getting other estimates as well. He saw me struggling with two young babies, I was trying to put them down for nap and my youngest would not go down and kept screaming. He continued with his 90 minute sales pitch and would not pick up the pace or cut me a break in his presentation. He went on and on about their A+ rating and customer service and 2 hours later he finally gave me a price, then the promo price, then asked, "so you're the decision maker right? Well here's the today only price." When I said thanks, but I had other estimates coming this week he argued I wouldn't find anything better and this price was only good today. He continued to tell me this price was unbeatable and would not leave even though I said thank you several times. He went down another 200 and I called my husband who confirmed we wanted to look at all the estimates first. Then he went down again in price, I called my husband again who told me to get him out of the house. I said thank you again and that we wanted all the estimates first. He stared at me and said, "I thought you said you were the decision maker. This is why I wanted to meet with your husband." Then he continued to tell me how all the new windows in my house from our rehab a few months prior were going to need work because they weren't installed correctly. I calmly asked him to leave and he continued on, I finally said I had to nurse my baby and I would like him to leave. He stared at me again and slowly got his stuff and didn't say another word. I understand they want to make a sale and they have to explain the product, but I really did not appreciate him taking 2 hours to explain everything especially when I had two kids napping and that was my only time to get anything done. Then I really didn't appreciate him not listening to me when I said no, especially since I told him twice in the beginning that I was getting other estimates throughout the week. He did not seem understanding at all, he wouldn't even leave the estimate he wrote up for me with me. I simply wanted to compare the prices I had gotten that week, even if they end up being the better deal I refuse to call him back after the disrespect he showed towards me and my home. I didn't appreciate him commenting on my windows we had just gotten done, I didn't call them out to look at those windows at all. I didn't appreciate him acting like I couldn't make a decision without my husband home also. The high pressure sales tactic is not a good way to welcome new potential customers. read more

We needed replacement windows for the home we recently purchased and I signed up for an in-home consultation with WindowWorks at a community event. We were hesitant, at first, but the sales person (Mike Cook) was very nice, not pushy, knowledgeable, and candid with us about the negative reviews we had read. He talked about the recent change in manufacturing and it was clear that the transition had not been a smooth one. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with the price he quoted and liked the features that the windows offered. The individual who measured was also very helpful and gave us tips on things to look for and consider. We actually changed our order slightly after that to include a grid on the windows but that did not slow things down, at all. We had the windows installed within two months of the original sales call and are very happy, so far, with the quality and look of the windows. The installers were very efficient and considerate. We had only one blip in the process which was that we were very clear that we wanted certain precautions to be taken in the installation to guard against lead paint exposure. This had been recommended to us by the home inspector and Mike understood the concern and clearly noted it in the order. Unfortunately, for whatever reason the request was not passed on to the installers (they showed us all the paperwork) so we had to ask them to stop mid-way through when we saw what they were doing, seal up the windows and install from the outside. That frustration is a thing of the past, now, and we're enjoying the clear view out our new windows AND the fact that we can now OPEN them to get fresh air in the house - hooray! read more

I would never use WindowWorks. Salesman Jeff came out to our house June 8. We looked at the color chart and ordered a color and gave a deposit of 1/3 down. Joe came out and verified measurements of the supplies that were needed. We never heard from anyone for 3 weeks. Finally called WindowWorks in July and was told that the order was placed June 29 (how come so long to order). Wed July 22 was called and told that the materials were being dropped off July 24. Truck came and attempted to deliver materials. Luckily we looked at the color. The color was not what we ordered. We attempted to contact people. After talking to Jeff, manager Jim and Joe, calls were not being returned. Finally got someone and was told that the color we wanted was not being made anymore and was discontinued 3 years ago. Why did the salesman have that color??????? We refused shipment. Finally got a hold of Jim and was told that no one was in office (?????) and could not issue a check until Monday. Found out that people were in office Friday. Called Tues to see where check was. Jim once again said that the check was mailed out on Monday and that he was sending a color chart via FedEx. Friday still no check. Called again and once again was told that check was mailed on Monday and color chart was sent out via FedEx. Jim said that if we did not receive the check by Monday, that he would deliver the check himself. Sat we finally received check. It was dated Tues and mailed on Wed (according to postmark). Jim also said that he would send out a couple of gift cards to compensate us for this bad experience, since my husband had taken everything off the old siding. What bold face liars they are!!!!!!!! Never received the color chart and never received the gift cards. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Also there price is the same is everyone else since I did further research. Their discounts comes out to what everyone is charging. Also the color that was discontinued is still being made. read more

In Sept of 2016, I contracted Window Works to replace 2 picture windows and a front door. Window Works had excellent ratings with the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List. I will never trust the BBB again! Since no one else listed on the BBB was willing to accept a small job, I was left with only Window Works which is a very pricey company. Regarding the windows, I told the salesman that I wanted white on the outside and wood grain on the inside. He told me that it had to be the same on both sides. That statement was later confirmed by the office staff, who by the way are very rude. I told the salesman that I wanted some glass in the door, but not glass that someone can see through. He pointed to a picture and told me that this is the glass that I wanted. "No one will be able to see inside." I later learned that the windows can be different on each side, and again told the salesman that I wanted wood grain on the inside. The windows came in all white. After fighting with the company, the windows were redelivered, without notice that they were coming, again all white. The salesman told his office staff that I wanted white on the inside so that it would match the storm door. What a lie! The only thing that I had told him about the storm door was that I was going to get rid of it, but not at this time. Two days after the second delivery, the company text me to say that the windows would be delivered the next day. Of course, it was a false message, because they had just been at my house 2 days earlier. Eventually, I got the right windows in February. They wanted the balance paid, but I refused since the door was not in. When the door came, it had glass that you can see through. When I tried to deal with the company, all they did was repeat the words over and over, "Well, you signed the contract." Since you really cannot tell from the picture that the glass is see-through, I had to take the word of the salesman. The electric door locks did not work and a new door bell button was improperly installed, but they did fix them. I then tried to work with the company for some restitution on a door that I was not happy with, but the Director of Operations snapped at me and refused to do anything. My experience was terrible. I ordered a storm door to be put in, I had to call them to check and see if it came in and magically they told me it just came in! Go figure. So then i schedule my installation date for a Friday. I get a text alert the day before they will be there at 11AM to install it and allow 2 hours for delivery. Well after being 3 1/2 hours late and not returning my phone call they show up, Not only did I have to take a half day of work for nothing but also had to cancel my anniv dinner plans with my wife since they started the install at 4:45. I received a letter with the VP's name that said he would love to hear my feedback, Guess what, They screened the call and I couldnt even leave him a voicemail and they ensured my feedback would get to him. It was nice to talk to someone who has been there for 3 days to tell me he would receive my feedback. She guaranteed me that the VP would not reach out to me. Being in sales myself regardless if its bad or good feedback you should reach out. Sounds like they just want to sweep another bad review under the rug. I also tried to post to their site but it says they have to approve before it posts. Dont let their site fool you, My guess is any bad feedback they are filtering and not putting on their site. The quality of their product is definitely great. I am not dissatisfied with their work. However, they do resort to underhanded & a bit unethical sales practices. I had my patio window replaced 4 years ago, then recently decided to have my two bedroom replaced. The sales agent came out & analyzed how much it would cost. I undoubtedly requested to mirror what was done to my patio window & he then gave me a price estimate that I agreed to. Much to my surprise, when they completed the work, they didn't finish it to my liking. I contacted their office & they then began using their industry jargon. Apparently replacing the "window jammers" (the ledge on the interior of my home) & the surrounding wood framing was not included in the original estimate. I am not in the window replacement industry, so I wasn't aware of it not being included in the original contract. So after their work was completed, they stated to have everything replaced as they did with my original patio window project would be an (expensive) additional cost, which I refused. Although I like the quality of their work, I will not go through them again due to the insincere sales pitch they gave me from the start. They even researched it after I expressed my position & after two weeks, they got back to me stating the end result will require more money out of my pocket, even though I've spent over $4000 with them in a matter of 4 years. Okay, as promised, here is the next installment of my experience with Window Works. I recieved a call about ten days ago from the installers for Window Works informing me that my windows and patio door were ready to be installed. This was well within the time period estimated at my initial meeting with Roddy and Aaron. We set up an installment date for Monday July 13th. I was told that this would be a one day job but I scheduled myself off work for two days just to be sure, and as it happened, with the weather, it was a good idea. The install crew showed up just a little before 8AM on Monday and went right to work. Very nice group of fellows. Had their best please and thank you going all day. When I had questions, I got good answers. The men worked quickly and had all 13 windows and the door installed the first day and most of the exterior trim capping. They were back the next day and quickly finnished the job. I didn't actually have to be there as all the remaining work was exterior. I ran some errands and by the time I returned the boys were finishing up. The work was first quality. I could tell that this crew took pride in their work, and if the windows themselves are as good as the fellows putting them in, then I will have nothing but good things to say about Window Works. So that's my story. I would recommend Window Works to anyone. Go Cubbies!! read more

I hired window works to do my siding and put on a storm door. Honestly, the materials for siding were the quality I paid for. BUT.... the sales guy totally lied to me about what I was getting and about ripping off the old siding first - they didn't. I was able to get part of my money back (difference in material quality I was promised). However, the door isn't even the one I ordered! it was installed before I realized it was the wrong one - the installer started to show me how it worked and DIDN'T HAVE THE FEATURE I PAID THE EXTRA MONEY FOR! The installers called their boss and said I would be contacted to fix the situation in the morning. Then left me with the wrong door. It took two weeks to get someone to return my phone calls! The salesman finally called me back, setup an apt to come out and fix the problem, and....he didn't show up. I have been stood up 2times now. Supposedly his boss....yes I finally got someone to talk to me on the phone....is going to come out and resolve the problem this week. I'll let you know if he shows up. read more

I specifically asked the salesman if the replacement windows would interfere with the existing shutters. He assured me that the new windows would not affect the operation of the shutters. Window Works installed the new windows and I now have to open the shutter doors every time I want to open or close the shutter slats. I called to complain and they sent someone out to look. He said that he would report it to his manager and get back to me in the next day or two. I waited one week and then called to see why I hadn't heard from him. He said that there was nothing they could do and I should just use "the workaround". If they had been honest up front and told me that their windows would interfere with the existing shutters, I would have been able to look at some other window companies that might have accommodated my needs. I made a big mistake by going with Window Works and I hope that this review will prevent someone else from making the same mistake! read more

I was contacted by this company and I will not do business with them again; they have very, very poor customer service. I had a bedroom window replaced in my condo. The sales person, Matt D. came out and spent what seemed like an eternity measuring & quoting, never mentioning that my window treatments would need to be replaced. Had I known this I may have put off having the window replaced. On the day of the installation, the Supervisor came out to inspect the work; I explained my dilemma. The Supervisor took my statement and said he would speak to management to rectify the situation. I mentioned that I was laid off and did not anticipate additional expenditures, like new window treatments. I contacted the Sales Rep and he was very apologetic, and said he would contact his boss to see what they could do for me. After 2-3 weeks passed, I contacted the Sales Rep again, and he tells me to call the 800 number. I contacted Customer Service, and she said she would look into the matter and get back to me. They did get back to me and told me that I did sign paperwork stating the new window might cause replacing the window treatments. I realize I should have read everything I signed that day, but I feel the Sales Rep should have mentioned this during the measurements. The time he spent in my home, he could have mentioned blinds & shades may no longer fit in the new window. I even had to call to inquire about the gift card I was entitled to for having Window Works come out. Upon receiving the gift card, I found I could only use the card at select restaurants of their choice, not mine. I think this is pretty lame. Dealing with Window Works has really opened my eyes. I would not recommend this company, and I am on the Board of my Condo Association. read more

Save your time - DO NOT CALL this company. Windows are a huge investment. If they quote cheap - it's because that's what they are - cheap. Salesman Richard comes out use foul language in front on our son. Seriously, you are in someone's house - use manners. Second, they totally installed a window wrong. We had to have it inspected and our inspector could not believe the crappy workmanship performed. OMG - Use another company. When asked about it - Oh they could come back and fix it - IN A MONTH OR TWO - Seriously. USE ANOTHER COMPANY. I wish I would have called another company. The quality of the windows is HORRIBLE. USE ANOTHER COMPANY. The windows are truly garbage. If you have to spent a few hundreds TO - USE ANOTHER COMPANY - it would totally be worth it. You don't want to save a little to invest in your home with the worst quality windows and people who cannot install them properly. SERIOUSLY. That's your business. My advice to you - USE ANOTHER COMPANY. read more
