    We replaced all of our windows on our townhouse back in 2009 and we were very happy with the look and performance over the first ten years. We purchased double pane, low-e glass, and argon gas filled windows. We also installed new sliding doors from Window World. Their prices were very competitive. My family and I lived overseas the past six years and came back this summer and noticed multiple windows with a blueish haze/streaks on the outer pane of glass. We could not clean or wipe off the hazing with traditional glass cleaning products. Our bay window is particularly impacted and as the centerpiece of our townhome it now sticks out like a sore thumb. After doing some online research, it appears to be one of two potential causes. Either the seal on the window failed allowing moisture/dirt to get inside the window or the low-e glazing has deteriorated. I am not an expert so it could be something else entirely. The windows do receive direct sunlight but not all of the windows suffer from this problem. Bottom Line - something is wrong with my windows. I have tried unsuccessfully since September 2024 to get Window World Maintenance out to my property to inspect the windows. The windows come with a lifetime warranty. I have made online claims through the warranty website providing my documentation. It is now late February 2025 and my family and I are still waiting for a visit. There are many options for replacement windows and I would caution folks to think hard about using Window World based on my experiences trying to get them out to my house to inspect and troubleshoot the problem. Window World needs to either stand by their product or stop telling customers the windows come with a lifetime warranty if they are not willing to support the customers when issues arise. I have stopped asking for when a team will come by to look at the windows. I get the same answer...."maintenance will contact you" I included WW Corporate on one email exchange and they called me and said the local affiliate will call me first thing next week. I am still waiting.....The pictures speak for themselves. My advice is to shop around and do your own research regarding how a company responds when there is a problem or issue before selecting a company. I found other online examples of Window World customers frustrated with seeking warranty support. Do your research.

    Communication between Regional Manager and me Page 1

    Things only get worse with Window World of Washington DC. After much communication with Window World personnel in the Wash DC office (They are a franchise), Window World Consumer Relations Department in the head office in Wilkesboro, NC, and the franchise owner, about getting the products (sidiing, a front door, and a storm door) that I contracted and paid for in 2022 completed, I thought I was finally out of the woods at the end of 2023 when all the items were finally all delivered and installed. Unfortunately, I was clearly wrong. Issues with communication, follow through, and quality remain solidly inconsistent. Quality is now the foremost issue I have with Window World although there are accompanying matters of follow through and communication. I discovered an opening in the front door sidelight that was installed on May 26th of 2023 as the weather got cooler. I contacted the Regional Manager about a gap in the sidelight of the newly installed front door on October 18th of 2023. This matter was addressed but as usual, later than the promised date. On January 26th, 2024, the storm door which was also installed on May of 2023 developed a serious problem. It could neither be unlocked from inside nor from outside. I was trapped in my house and could not exit. I was concerned about safety and did not wish to sleep in a house I could not exit readily in the event of a fire. Once again, I was forced to contact Window World. Although the storm door lock had had a similar problem on the day it was installed, I was able to unlock it then after several hours of jiggling and maneuvering the lock mechanism before help came. This time hours of jiggling and maneuvering didn't work. I credit the Regional Manager on this occasion for suggesting that the seal for the glass in the door be removed until the next day when he would come inspect the storm door lock. I was fortunate that my neighbor was available to help remove the glass in the storm door. The Regional Manager himself was unable to unlock the door until he picked it apart with a tool when he came to inspect the door on January 27th, 2024. He did replace the glass in the door and I taped the door lock so that it would not accidentally get stuck again pending it being repaired or replaced. He did inform me that a new lock for the storm door would be susceptible to having the same problem since a mechanism inside the lock turned beyond where it was supposed to which makes it catch in a position that makes it lock in place. The problem is a design flaw. The Regional Manager promised to order a new lock for the storm door and to contact me within a few weeks. I heard nothing from him since January 27th, 2024 so I contacted him on March 11th, 2024 by which time the seal that holds the glass in the door had started to fail. I now have to constantly push the seal into it's grove because it won't stay in place. A promise to get back to me the next day was not kept. I reached out again on March 18th, 2024. My enquiries at this point were met with brusque responses and no definite date or window of time when the problem would be resolved or my money refunded so I can go purchase a functional door myself. The manager ended our text conversation abruptly on March 18th 2024. A dismissive attitude toward customers does not grow a business. It invites reviews such as mine and law suits. The quality of the storm door has proven to be worthless and the level of disregard for customers inexcusably shoddy. It is no wonder that so many customers in recent times have few kind words for Window World. I do intend to get what I paid for or my money back.

With regards to the heating of our home, the windows were no better than screens. I reached out, looking for windows and installers. I had a few people come in and estimate the job. None of them impressed me until Greg from Windows on Washington came over. He walked me through several options and explained how the windows they used were manufactured and why. Windows on Washington got the job. My windows and my doors were being manufactured. So they sent out a wonderful gentleman to get the final accurate measurements. Great guy. After that, communication was wonderful as were were assessed of the stage we were in. This included when we got the email and calls explaining that, since we were on a higher floor, they needed to bring in some equipment to lift the new doors up to our balcony. No surprises. Installation day was amazing as Joon and his team came in, got everything into place, and cleaned up the areas to better than when they got here. Joon then went over the features on our windows and even explained how we get to and clean the outsides of the glass. Wonderful man and amazing team. Since then, we have gotten copies of our warranty and the guarantees. And the company has reached out twice to ask if we have any questions and to ensure that we are happy with our windows. We are. We are very happy with our windows. Almost as happy as we are with the people who got them into our home.

American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. RESPONSIVENESS - very fast, very responsive, very professional. A tad too frequent, but apparently roof repair is a competitive business. INSPECTION - scheduled and conducted efficiently; exceptionally thorough inspection report (David). COST - in line with all other quotes, which are apparently driven by the insurance estimate. Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. I reached out to Green Oak after searching on Yelp (s/o), and was extremely glad I did. Brian H. took me through the process from start to finish, including an insightful explanation of the insurance claim process. The free estimate happened within a few days and ended up being lower than the insurance-assessed quote. He recommended a roof "tune up" as part of the package without pushing or trying to upsell me for more, which i really appreciated. He also accommodated my inquiry of adding on the installation of a bathroom exhaust vent cap, which was missing when we moved in. After being extremely reasonable on pricing and lighting-fast on responses, they scheduled and completed the work the day after signing. The team was efficient and respectful, with a huge attention to detail. TL;DR - Highly recommend giving Brian and Green Oak Exteriors a shot to help fix your home exterior issues, especially when you are in a bind with your insurance company!

Our initial experience, a full home window replacement, was excellence from product quality, installation, value and customer service. Once again, this has been our experience. A call to their Chantilly office, Sheryl had Joe scheduled for a consult the next day. Our vision: a sliding glass door to replace a pair of windows, allowing backyard access. Elimination of the adjacent window paned entry door and egress, enlarging our family room living space. From our vision, Joe proposed an alternative, balancing remaining windows and transom with a custom size ProVia sliding glass door. His revisions made significant enhancement to the room's footprint and allowed us to move forward with replacement our front entry door. Here again, with my general vision, Joe brought his professional guidance and we had selections made in minutes. Our new ProVia entry door... I've never made a change to our home that has had as many compliments or requests for referral.
