We are absolutely thrilled with our new garage doors! When we first moved into our current home, so much had been remodeled but the garage doors were original circa 1975 with single pane glass and insulation that had long been worn down and painted over. In the summer, with humid conditions, you could barely open the doors. Enter Windows on Washington! The on site consultation was smooth and easy! The communication from the office regarding the updates on our doors was clear and timely. Installation was a breeze- the crew was exceptionally neat and very careful with our home. What we loved most was that the crew was constantly measuring and adjusting so the doors would have the best fit possible. The company follows all COVID procedures and wore masks throughout the consultation and installation. I just had twenty-one windows replaced in my 1978 Colonial by Windows On Washington (WOW). Phenomenal!!!!! Brandon was my salesman, informative, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all when presenting me with the OKNA windows brochure, the brand WOW uses. Hong was the installer who I met initially when he came out to take measurements. He made some awesome inputs about which windows he'd recommend having grids in the glass and which to not have grids, spot on!! On day of install, Hong and a team of 3 others showed up on time at 8:30am (fully done with the job by 4:30pm). They were quick to remove all the windows and get the new windows put in position to minimize the interior of my home's temperature from getting too cold. Now is where WOW separates itself from the competition, in the attention to detail of the installation. HONG IS A TRUE ARTIST!!! He brings a special set of tools where he doesn't just cut some prefabricated metal pieces to fit around your window, he magically forms/bends/cuts the aluminum finishing for each window, meticulously matching each window. And the final touch of leveling, sealing and caulking the outside and inside is something to be seen!!! The only concern I had during this job was initially when the demo'ing of the old windows was going on. While the old windows were removed and hand carried out of the house for disposal, all the excess material (wood splinters, screws, plastic fittings, insulation, etc) was being thrown out the windows down to the ground level. However, at the end of the job when I walked around and inspected around the house, they did do an excellent job cleaning up the outside area. As well they also clean the outside/inside of all the windows and vacuum as a finishing touch to the job. If you are a picky consumer who hates the thought of searching and interviewing contractors for jobs around your house, I can save you the time if you're looking to have your windows replaced, just choose Windows On Washington!!!! read more

First off, let me start by saying that, prior to meeting Eric, I had remarkably bad luck with contractors (shoddy work, out of business etc). The week prior a snake oil salesman stopped by and offered to tinfoil the inside of my attic for a mere $8,000. After 45mins of negotiation we were at $3k. Needless to say I showed him the door. Great fun! Eric, however, explained the right thing to do (attic sealing, attic ventilation and correct insulation) and we went ahead with him and did the work. Amazing crew and we could not be happier. For the first time in several years our upstairs living space was finally at the temp we set it in the middle of summer. The were clean, thorough, polite. Everything a contractor is not supposed to be...... Moreover, we discovered that one of the air handlers was not sealed properly as the emergency drain overflowed. Eric and team came back the next day to fix it even though it was not their problem to fix. We decided to get an estimate from Windows on Washington after reading their reviews on Yelp. We'd already talked with another company and wanted a second opinion on our sliding door project. The prices and materials were nearly identical and we ended up going with Windows on Washington because of their representative appearing knowledgable about the crazy bylaws in Reston - the DRB, Design Review Board, color palette, etc. Welp, this one slider, three panel, non-custom order took 7 months to complete. Basically, the door was ordered and installed but they did not realize the handle did not come in the same bronze color as the door. It was black and white (see photos). It took a special order (which took a few months) to get the right one. Maybe I'm just annoyed because we budgeted for this project 7 months ago and I was just hit with the final bill? Sigh. I never found this mismatched handle to be an earth shattering issue. It didn't even really bother me too much, but for the $$$ we spent, I wanted the project to look great, not "meh". I will say that they were really good about correcting the issue by ordering a specially painted handle. Customer service was always polite and service-oriented, and their communication was excellent, which is why I'm giving a couple of stars here. Plus, the door really does look great and it updates the look of the whole room. Perhaps an update on functionality once winter arrives. read more

I first did business with Windows on Washington in 2013 when my roof was leaking. They had someone out to my house very quickly and stopped the leak. It has not leaked again since. Earlier this year, I decided to replace all of the windows in my house, the sliding back door, and put in a front storm door. I decided to go with another company because their pricing was slightly less - a decision I deeply regret. The other company started installing my doors but never finished, never installed my windows (but kept my deposit), and went out of business. I contacted WoW again in July and asked for a new quote for the windows. The salesman, Greg, gave me a very thorough and detailed presentation on windows and explained the energy efficiency of their Okna windows. I decided to go with the Okna 500 series. I placed the order on August 11th and the windows were installed on September 29th. During the wait time, I was kept continually informed as to the progress of the order, and Greg answered all of my questions quickly. They were even able to color match the exterior trim and caulking to the color that my HOA requires. The installation was on time and completed same day. It started raining half-way through the install but the installers kept on going despite getting rained on. When they were done, they thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside of the house and left almost no traces of any mess. The new windows look amazing and I can't wait for the winter so I can see how energy efficient they are. I chose Windows on Washington based on the good Yelp reviews. I could give a much lower rating, but I'm going to stick high simply because sometimes crap happens and you just have to roll with it. At the end of the day, WoW cares about their customers, period. I was looking for quotes for new front doors and received a reply very quickly and spoke with the rep - Brandon, who I'm convinced never sleeps - who came out within days. It took some guidance, but we eventually ordered our doors, signed contracts and paid down payments. We were told it would be 6 weeks to delivery with installation shortly after. Sometime around week 11, when we hadn't heard anything, we emailed to get an update. They explained the issues and the doors came in shortly after so we got it set up for the install. The crew who did the install was a little bit late, but they were really nice guys and worked hard - their work was top notch and they left our home cleaner than it was when they arrived. As they finished up we noticed that the second handle set that we requested was not on one of the doors. I sent an email asking about it and it was sent with the crew on Day 2, but the crew didn't have the tools to install it so it didn't get installed. We set up an appointment to have it installed but, unfortunately, a bit after the slotted arrival time I got an email saying the crew wouldn't make it. The office staff rescheduled with us early the next morning for a few days later with the owner, Eric. He was waiting for me when I arrived on the next scheduled appointment, and he went way out of his way to get the handle installed. He was incredibly nice and I greatly appreciated his candidness and willingness to discuss our issues. It was obvious that he genuinely was concerned with our happiness, rather than his bottom line, and was willing to do what it took to make sure that we were satisfied. Now we have brand new doors that are absolutely gorgeous and I super LOVE! I could not be happier with them - and I definitely give a lot of the credit to Brandon for leading us in the decision-making process. It is too bad that I cannot rate them higher than 5 stars, because I would. I got 9 windows installed on my townhouse. My top floor bedrooms were roaster hot in the summer and we couldn't take it anymore. I get 5 hours of direct sunlight on these windows and the day after the windows were installed, the rooms are cool again...and I haven't even had chance to hang my blinds back up! WOW. I found the company on a contractor's blog and everyone raved about how good and reasonable they were. Their prices are VERY reasonable and the workmanship is better than I expected! My windows look great. The staff kept in constant contact with me from consultation, to measure of my windows and on the status of my window order. I think what made me feel really sure about this company is that they only use installers that are employed by them only....no day laborers!! The process to select the options for the doors went smoothly with Mr. Zach Wince. He thoroughly explained the differences in quality between of the door manufacturers that they carry and all the hardware options that they offer. At the end of the process, he informed me that it'd take 6 - 8 weeks for the doors to be ready for installation. After 8 weeks went by I contacted Zach for a status. He informed me that the manufacturer that I chose could not fulfill one of the options that I had chosen even though it was offered in their catalog. At that point I was not happy because that delayed my project until the spring and I almost cancelled the order however, Zach spoke to the manager about my project and they honored all of my options with Provia doors which are more expensive than the HMI doors that I settled on and did not charge me for the difference. Kudos to WOW! That's the epitome of customer service! The installation team was superb and did a very meticulous job. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the purchase and the service that I received from WOW and highly recommend them for your window and door replacement project. I was not fortunate enough (this time) to work with the WoW crew, but I benefited from their expertise nonetheless. I was highly impressed not only by their willingness to help diagnose my window leak issue when no other company would even talk to me, but when we settled on a solution, they didn't try to sell me a new roof or a sump pump (basically up sell me) when all I needed was window advice and estimates. In 2019, one window in my living room started leaking. Water was flowing in from the top and bottom of the window pane. I called a GC I used in the past and all he did was caulk around the entire exterior of the window. (Not advisable!) Fast forward to 2020s rainy season and the water returned in force! I called around to four different companies - even the GC that failed me - and no one wanted to touch the window without a full replacement. I wasn't convinced that a full replacement was necessary, so I kept calling. When I found WoW, Eric and David were also cautious about a single replacement, but supplemented that caution with a reasonable explanation and what I can only call "free pro tips" (defined as information you can't find on YouTube). Over the next week, they were very patient and responsive to my questions. When David arrived on the scene (after online troubleshooting failed), he and Eric (via video chat) immediately diagnosed the problem and provided a quote within 24 hours. Ultimately, because of COVID-19, WoW's timeframe was longer than another company's so I went with the competitor. However, I can't speak highly enough about WoW and how they treat prospective clients. My house is over 25 years old. The next time I have an issue, WoW will be at the top of my "To Call" list. read more

We had new windows and a sliding glass door installed about 5 years ago. The windows are great and very easy to use and keep clean. I didn't write a review at the time, but I am writing now because we recently had a problem with the screen door on our sliding glass door. One of my friends recommended WoW. I had previously had Thompson Creek replace about half my windows and one glass door. I wanted to finish the rest of the windows and another sliding glass door but did not want to pay an arm and a leg. I contacted WoW and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Unfortunately the person scheduled to come out had an emergency and was unable to come out. However, WoW immediately rescheduled me for the next day and Eric (the owner) came out to do the estimate himself. The estimate came through SIGNIFICANTLY less then what I had paid for the other half of the job from TC. I was shocked by the price difference. I immediately opted to move forward with the job. The next step was to have someone come out and take the measurements to ensure the windows fit as they should. This visit took about 5 minutes. The ease of scheduling an appointment was just as smooth, Fast forward to the installation. They crew was coming up from VA. I live in North Potomac. They were coming up on a Friday in the middle of rush hour. I figured they would be a bit behind due to traffic. However, that was not the case. I had an hour time frame of an ETA and they came at the half way mark. Again, awesome! The job went very smoothly. I took my two dogs and disappeared into a part of the house that was not getting worked on so I could continue doing what I needed to do. About 6 hours later and no disturbance needed the guys finished up. The cleanup was impeccable inside and outside the house. There was not the slightest of mess anywhere to be seen and they even hung up all the hardware for my blinds and curtains. I have had the windows now for about 10 days and already can tell a difference. This past weekend was somewhat windy and the new windows did a great job. I am also impressed with how good of a job they do with noise. I cannot say enough how quick, easy, seamless, and clean of a job WoW did. I will certainly recommend them to anyone I know needing work done and will be using them in the future for when I do the attic insulation. read more

I am writing this review based upon my experience six months after Windows on Washington replaced some of my windows and my sliding glass door. First of all, WoW is not a contractor that will leave you waiting with unanswered phone calls and questions. They are always prompt, courteous, and well-versed in the complexities of proper window replacement. At the time of my project, they carried three brands of windows, all at different price points. Their top tier, Okna, is unmatched in quality and energy efficiency. The windows are tightly sealed and have a heavy, dense feel to them. Indeed, the moment they were installed, the difference we felt in overall comfort was beyond our wildest dreams. The installation fit and finish is literally perfect. The windows are custom built in the USA for every frame, and the installation team made the windows look better than brand new. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful the installation looks. Six months after we had them put in, we had one minor adjustment issue with our sliding glass door, which was covered under warranty. It took longer than I would have liked to get someone out to look at it, so this was one negative point on an otherwise perfect experience. The owner, Eric, was apologetic and did what he could to fix the problem, so it wasn't enough to make me dock them a star. Fortunately, that's the only nit I have to pick. The other nice surprise was how tidy Joe's team was. When they showed up, the team laid down drop cloths throughout my entire house. They worked quickly and with military precision, and finished the job by the early afternoon. When they were done, not a speck of dirt was left on my carpet. Fantastic. All this does come at a cost-- don't look to Windows on Washington if you want box store windows at Wally World prices and Made-In-China quality. I've seen what happens when people go cheap on windows, and it isn't pretty. They'll be flimsy, offer little protection when the temperatures sway, and don't slide open and closed in a straight, easy line. Needless to say, if you don't invest properly in high-quality custom windows, you'll pay for it down the road. Better to do it right the first time. Better to hire Windows on Washington. I couldn't be happier, and I'll be hiring them to finish the rest of my home next year at tax time! read more

The Sales Manager, David Sher, went above and beyond. The virtual Zoom consultation was top notch, very professional and knowledgeable presentation of the product and the WOW team. David is very easy to work with - never pushy. He responded to all of my inquiries quickly, professionally and promptly. He was very understanding and patient (there was a bit of delay on my end on following up with him). Due to personal set back, I wasn't able to fully go through with the project I had in mind, but even still, I can tell this is a company who cares for their customers and it shows in the excellent customer service they provide. We did not buy doors with WoW after our experience in 2019. They came and measured our doorways and then we had to call them twice for a follow up - they never followed up after measuring. Then they sent us a MS word doc with their prices for their proposed doors for our house with no images even - we were offered zero selections. I had to google the door brand. After asking their office... what the doors were, they just emailed me a booklet. Very minimal effort was given. Maybe they just dropped the ball with us? After purchasing our new home one of the biggest improvements on our list was replacing the original roof (which was over 20 years old). There are many choices out there but we decided to go with Windows on Washington based on the great reviews on Yelp and elsewhere online. Rob Wardach was the rep who came to our house to walk us through the different options as well as pricing. The prices quoted were fair and we could negotiate discounts based on the amount of money we paid upfront. There was no sales pressure and Rob was very responsive through the process. The team came to install the new roof pretty soon after we signed the contract. They were very fast and efficient and the new roof looks great. We were so happy and impressed with the quality of the roof that when the time came to replace our drafty old windows we decided to go with WoW. Once again Rob went above and beyond helping us sort through the different product options and providing suggestions on how to save a bit of money. I can definitely recommend WOW. The initial consultation was very pleasant and informative, but not an overly pushy hard sell like some other companies *cough cough*. The entire process of working with WOW was very straightforward and simple. Installation day went very smoothly. Although the heat index on this day was over 100 degrees, the crew worked efficiently and got the whole job done on time. There were no real hiccups. The windows themselves (from Okna) seem really nice and are easy to operate. Ok so why 4 stars instead of 5? The crew damaged the wall in the stairwell area of my townhouse, leaving 2 small but noticeable dings, from carrying those big windows in tight spaces. Yes it's a hard job, but no one on the crew even notified me of the damage. I noticed it later that day after they left. Also, I found several bits of the torn out installation that were missed in cleanup, in addition to one wood splinter several inches in length. read more

We had 23 windows replaced, including two windows significantly enlarged, by WOW and couldn't be happier with the work! Window replacement is a huge project and a significant investment, and WOW made us feel really good about our decision from start to finish. Greg the salesman did an excellent job walking us through the entire process and educating us about what's important for good quality windows. He was super responsive to questions, as was the entire staff we dealt with throughout the process. Jose and the installation team did an excellent job installing the windows - I couldn't believe how quickly they worked and how amazing the new windows looked! Our project was a bit complicated because they more than doubled the sizes of two of our windows - and ran into some unforeseen complications with the interior wall material. However, they were never flustered and though it took more work on their part, they still finished on time (even a little early). The owner, Eric, was in touch throughout the entire process and even came onto the project site to take a look at how things were going. We definitely appreciated his involvement. The windows themselves are top-notch. They have excellent ratings, are easy to open/close and clean, and look amazing! The installation team did an awesome job - I am pretty type A and nit-picky with things, but they really exceeded my expectations. They're not the cheapest game in town. But if you're looking for high-quality windows, a professional installation, and a company that cares about its customers and stays involved throughout the process, WOW is the way to go! Just want to follow-up on my 5/8/20 review. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself, but I just have to say what a difference the Okna 500 Series windows have made in keeping out the summer heat, while keeping in the cool AC. My windows were installed at the end of March '20, after the worst of our winter temps. And during the previous 2 weeks of 90+ degree temps (and currently in our 3rd week of such temps) I can honestly say my middle-of-the-line Carrier heat pump has been turning on and off in more frequent intervals....meaning the interior temps are maintaining at cool and comfortable levels. Prior to the new windows, the blower might stay on for 40 minutes or more under these temps, stay off for 15 minutes and then begin blowing again. So, kudos to Okna 500 Series and Window On Washington! read more

Take notes, because this is how you do it. Windows on Washington installed a large garden window and small hopper window for us and the work is outstanding. The Okna garden window is now easily the nicest window on the house. The place where it was installed was basically an old window that had been boarded over for some reason decades ago by a previous owner. It had lead paint, but they were equipped to deal with it. The installation and finish work are immaculate, even the caulk lines. The caulk lines around the little hopper window are the best I've ever seen. The hopper window itself is very solid. There was a slight draft there with the former window and now there's not even a hint of one. The exterior frame of that window was entirely replaced and it looks great. I really couldn't have asked for a better job. Also, the sales rep was very nice without being pushy or trying to upsell us or run up the bill. They put up plastic sheet walls to prevent dust from spreading in the house and cleaned up every little speck of dust and debris from the job. We may need some new doors and storm doors in the future and maybe replacements for a couple of old skylights and Windows on Washington will be the first company we call. read more

They completed a window replacement project for us. We wanted to replace our builder-grade wood frame windows that were showing their age. From the estimate appointment (great job Greg Schwartz!) that was informative and thorough without the aggressive sales pitch, to the timely scheduling communication (kudos Becky Flynn!) we knew this was going to be a top-notch job. The construction supervisor, Yong Kim, was meticulous and ran an efficient crew. They were punctual, polite, and respectful of our home and external landscaping. They did not dawdle and completed the job quickly to minimize the heat and humidity of our first 90 degree day this year. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves both inside and outside. We had a tricky situation where we had very old windows with the glass set directly into the wood frame which obviously rotted, but we loved the classic wooden frame. Joong expertly removed the rotten section and was able to install the windows without having to remove the beautiful framing. My family and I recently purchased a 45-year old fixer-upper in Northern Virginia, and the home needed major updates throughout. Two things that needed immediate attention were the original wood windows and the 30+ year old asphalt roof. After a referral from a co-worker, I reached out to Windows on Washington and spoke with Greg for help on the windows. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, without any pressure to commit on the spot. The windows they use are very well-reviewed (Okna) and offered all of the features we were looking for. His quote for the 40+ windows and one new door was incredibly reasonable and less than other quotes I received. Based on the stellar feedback I'd already received about the company, I agreed to enlist them for the project. Their crew arrived on-time and spent two days doing an exceptional job installing everything. I watched them do the installations and everything was top notch. The windows dramatically improved the look and energy efficiency of the house, and the entire team could not have been more professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone if you need replacement windows. During the discussion with Greg about windows, I mentioned the need for a new roof, specifically a new metal roof. He indicated that their company could also handle that project since the president of the company (Eric Novotny) was very knowledgeable about those. I spoke with Eric a couple of days later and discovered that he is part of an expert industry panel for the Metal Roofing Alliance. We went over all the options for installing a metal roof and he came out to our house to talk at length about what we could do. He provided a quote for the project a couple of days later which was very reasonable based on the research I had done and I signed up for that as well. Interestingly, the roof project was completed first (before the windows) and his team spent three days completing everything. The crews worked 12+ hour days to get things done and the work was all top notch. It was beautiful when it was finished and our family couldn't be happier. As a follow up, two weeks after the roof was completed, I had a chimney cleaning / repair company come out to do some minor work. They ended up severely scratching all of the panels around the chimney in the process and I needed Eric's team to fix it. He sent two guys out and they spent 12+ hours carefully removing what they had just installed and replacing everything exactly the way it was. I expected the cost for the repair to be significant, but I was very surprised that not only was the cost reasonable, but some of the same crew that did the initial installation were available to come out and do the repairs. It was a very confidence-inspiring extra step and further reassures me that we went with the right company. Overall, I can't endorse this company and the people I interacted with enough. I didn't have a single bad experience and I feel like the money we spent was an investment we will enjoy for decades to come. After a lot of research, I narrowed my choices down to 3 vendors but Windows on Washington was the most responsive and knowledgeable. Having contractors in your house is troublesome enough but I did not want to risk repeat visits due to poor materials or installation problems. WOW installed 19 Okna Windows and an Okna Sliding Glass Door. I am happy with the service! The company is great and the products they offer are great too. My project manager, Greg, was awesome. He offered me only what I needed and was there to answer all of my questions and concerns. WOW is the cream of the crop and only offer high end products. Great customer experience. We had Jay came out and help us with the windows estimate. He was punctual, educational and helpful.

My experience with this company was refreshing, to say the least. The entire process, from sales to installation, was about as stress free as it could get. My sales person was Zach, and installation was Yung. They came when they said, returned my calls and emails promptly, and kept in constant contact as inclement weather delayed installation on more than one occasion. They did a great job installing and cleaning up afterwards I'm very pleased with the windows and feel I got a reasonable deal. I plan to work with them later this year to replace my remaining windows. Also a shout out to their front office staff, who did a fabulous job as well. read more
