I had high hopes for customer service with this company because the salesperson was extremely thorough in taking measurements for my custom exterior door. In fact, he came back to verify measurements before placing the order. During the sales process, Jamie answered my questions, tried to upsell me several times, etc. I paid a premium for my door because I expected customer service to be excellent. Understandably, there were supply chain delays during the pandemic. I placed my order for an exterior door in April and it did not arrive until August (normally 4-6 weeks, not 4 months). However, customer service was extremely poor at communicating the status of my $3K order. I had to reach out to them multiple times via email to get updates. They were far quicker, however, to assign their general counsel to collect on their bill less than a week after installation. read more

I purchased windows for my entire house approximately 15 years ago from Tommy at Windows plus. The windows included a fifty year guarantee. Now at least 12 of my windows have broken seals, broken locks and the windows will not stay up. When I spoke to Tommy, after leaving at least 10 messages his response was that the window manufacturer was out of business and he could not do anything. He sent out someone from his company to look at the windows, he has not returned a single call in the past three months. Terrible product, worse windows company. We just had our second set of windows installed by Allied for our rental apartment. The first set was for our townhouse. The windows, made in America, are excellent quality and so easy to clean. The design of the windows actually makes it fun to do. Both our apartment and townhouse are on busy streets. These windows block out much more of the traffic noise than our previous windows. We appreciated doing business with the company--accurate estimates, on time delivery, friendly and thorough workers, great install. We replaced 13 windows with Windows Plus. After going through the process, here are a few takeaways. Pros: - The installation itself went fairly well. Everything was kept fairly clean, and they brought in more guys to help as needed to keep on schedule. - Price was unbeatable. Cons: - Communication is not their strong suit. Their "reply all" button is disabled or something, since they would only reply to me or my husband, but never to both of us, even after requesting several times to include both email addresses. - Not all of their employees are familiar with window specifications, and they don't use standard terminology from the industry. We had metal frames around our windows that needed to be replaced, and even after being quite explicit about this, it still wasn't included in the contract because their terminology was so different that they didn't understand what the issue was. (Aside: My dad has been in windows sales for decades, so I'm more familiar than the average layperson and I still had issues.) - You can't assume anything - ask all questions, even dumb ones, because you can't be sure you're on the same page otherwise. Example: All of the double slider windows (both panes slide) came with single pane (one side only) screens. Kind of defeats the point of the screen if you can open one side without it... read more

We ordered 7 basement replacement windows for our home, built in 1928, and we are so glad we did! Windows Plus is competitive with their prices and we were able to put half of the cost down for installation, and pay the rest upon completion. There were several window option designs to choose from and they were up front with price and how long it would take for installation. It took about 3-4 weeks once we ordered the windows, and they were installed in one day. They answered all of our questions and took the time to show us how the windows open and how we can pop them out from the inside if there ever was an emergency and someone needed to get out. We were referred to Allied Window Center by our neighbor who had used them in two different homes, and was very pleased. We met with Charles, the owner, and discussed replacing our homes original metal basement windows. We had wanted to do this for a long time, but wanted a company who had a solid reputation and not a big box store that contracts out. We chose six Affinity hopper style windows that have a soft white color, with obscure glass so that people could not see in. The windows were ordered and we were called in about six weeks to install. The installers Bobbie and Ryan were amazing. They were extremely professional, trimmed and framed out the windows beautifully, and didn't complain at all despite the extreme temperatures outside that they had to work in. I would absolutely recommend Allied Window Center for their product, great service and terrific warranty. read more

Do not let them install a storm door. They do not know how to measure or install properly. Mine was a disaster. Still won't close because it doesn't fit. They will argue and tinker, but never resolved the problem. A beautiful door that doesn't fit and won't close is what I'm stuck with. Leave the door installation to a company that specializes. I'm writing this review 7 years after the install so I can comment on the quality of the product. We replaced 17 windows in our house. We got estimates from 12 vendors. Charles was the last...because there was no need to look further. I actually threw one salesman out of my house because he wouldn't answer straightforward questions, all he wanted to do was finish his sales pitch. I invited him to finish it in his car on his way home. A lot of these guys bring a whole binder with them, not to sell you their product, but to convince you why the "other guy's product" is no good. My favorite is the ridiculous cigarette lighter test where they have you put your hand on top and they put a cigarette lighter under the double pane and tell you the window is amazing because you didn't feel the heat. Maybe someone back in the 1800s might be impressed with that but modern science tells me to laugh at their pathetic science trick. Charles Worthington is refreshingly different. He uses a superior product (7 years and I'm still THRILLED with my windows, both in appearance and operation), and he never once mentioned "the other guy" when he came for an estimate. Installers were great and he stands behind his product. I will be calling him back shortly to replace the remaining windows in my house. This time I only need one estimate..... read more

We love our window!!! The owner is very detailed and patient when he did the estimate at our house. No pushy, no sales tactic, only one price. Everything is very clear and the price is very reasonable for the window quality. the window they carry is absolutely beautiful and functional. can't be happier with the result. The install team is very pleasant, polite and easy to work with. They came on time and work very hard under 90 degree f sunshine. Their exterior finishing job is extremely beautiful, they are very detailed-oriented, WE LOVE IT!!! they washed all the windows and mop our floor to sparkling clean, so impressed! We did spend about 10 hours quoting from different window providers and we are sure we made the best decision. If you have time, it is still better to quote at least 3 companies since each company carry different windows which appearances and functions differ from each other. But if you don't have that much time, go to Allied window and you won't be disappointed. One of our window has a very very tiny issue and we reported to the installer Bobby, no second word, he said he will change for us.The next day, the owner, Charles, gave us a call the confirm if everything went well and also told us that he already ordered one new window for us. 100 points customer service!!! Last but not least, most of the window companies would say if we write a review or place a sign in front of our house, we will have a discount.But Allied window center did not require any of these. After reading the Yelp reviews I chose Allied for replacing our windows and patio sliding door and it was a good decision on a major project. We trusted Allied's judgment on the best windows on the market and we're happy with our purchase. The installation was superb and efficient. I was glad they squeezed us in before winter. Our place is now warmer, quieter, and just more comfortable! There were some delays, for example, I had initiated contact via their website, but didn't hear back and was about to look elsewhere. Then I thought the window order was placed two weeks before it actually was (the actual measurements were made by the installer on a separate visit). The new windows and door are wonderful. We had custom windows and a door made and installed. The company worked to meet all of the specifications of our HOA. In fact, they've replaced the windows in many of the houses in our neighborhood -- with all customers being satisfied. I took away one star because there was some poor caulking done by the installers. The installers were very pleasant and nice to work with, though they left some large gaps/holes on the outside. The salesman was very knowledgeable and didn't try to "up-sell" us at all - he just listened to what we needed and took our measurements, and then came in person to double-check. We were able to ask for custom finishes, which cost a bit more as well as a key-lock for the outside, which the salesman threw in for free!
