Chicken Provenance with garlic bread, mashed potatoes and broccoli
    Meme Mariee N.

Hey guys! Just a little lunch update....We went to WINDRUSH the other day and had the Chicken Provenance and the Chicken & Waffles with a side of Mac & cheese which the Chicken & Waffles was amazing and the Mac & Cheese was delicious but the Chicken Provenance was ok just a little too tangy on the lemon juice but other than that fair meal great mimosa. The bartender was very friendly and accommodating the environment is very subtle more of a date night look but due to the area it's in it's a family, friends, and neighborhood eatery I enjoyed myself and I will return soon thanks for lunch WINDRUSH !

    Catfish

Windrush Grill in Shreveport deserves all the stars! My visit was everything I hoped for and more. The catfish was perfection--crispy, seasoned just right, and cooked to flaky goodness. Pair it with one of their cocktails (so good I didn't mind accidentally spilling the first one ) and you've got a winning combination. What really stood out was the service. Despite my little accident, my server was patient, kind, and made sure everything was perfect. Great food, drinks, and even better people! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike!

    Grilled pork ribeye

Stopped by at random after a movie date and was very glad I did. We started with the southwest eggrolls, which were delicious. Then got margaritas - you get to pick a flavor add on for 50 cents. I got pomegranate and it was so good. For entrees, we got the grilled pork ribeye and the red fish. The grilled pork was moist and perfectly cooked and seasoned. That peach chutney could go on just about anything. The red fish was also cooked well and seasoned well. The crawfish sauce had just the right amount of heat. The sides (mashed potatoes, broccoli, asparagus, and garlic bread) were all good as well. The service was good. There were sports on at the bar and a few people scattered about but it was a nice, quiet meal. They had good music playing as well. I would definitely spin the block on this one.

Philly Cheesesteak with sweet potato fries. It was really good.

The Philly cheesesteak was great. Can't see much cheese in the pic but it was there. Would return & try more options.

    My fave salad

I been here 4 times ( I DoorDash them all the time) amazing food great prices... cocktails "to die for" but definitely can cut the tension in the air... whites definitely set on one side blacks on the other each time and the waiters were more attentive to the other tables more then our side. I had the firecracker shrimp ; Cajun pasta; Cobb salad (favorite salad) ; boudin balls; rib eye steak ; all the side items or good... and all the sandwiches and soups. Amazing amazing ... I only gave them a too because the "jim crow" vibe‼‼‼

Lots of mainly fried fish options, with a few grilled available as well. Fried Catfish! Wonderful proper crisp but light crust on a best ever thick filet light steamed with great flaky large filets. Shrimp really good and sides and gumbo are just right. Parking looked full but plenty of table space still available inside. They are known for very prompt service and food, so they apologized when it was going to take 10 minutes as they had just turned in orders for 2 parties of a dozen. Prices are quite reasonable, getting homemade quality for just about a dollar over commercial chains, with plenty of food on the plate. Unsweet tea was just brewed and better taste than you would expect... Worth the extra short drive around town to get there, and quite fine staff as well. Try it, you'll like it.

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. It took over an hour for us to receive our food. We ordered shrimp and grits and two shrimp and fish platters. During the wait, I asked our server twice what was taking so long. Both times, I was told that they had a large party on the patio. While I understand that large parties can put additional pressure on a kitchen, that really shouldn't come at the expense of other customers who were seated and ordered before or around the same time. If the restaurant isn't able to accommodate a large party while maintaining reasonable service for other guests, there should be better planning and communication. What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables around us receive their food before we did. When I questioned the delay, the response was essentially that "some food takes longer than others." I understand that certain dishes may take more time to prepare, but waiting over an hour without any proactive communication or explanation was disappointing. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, the experience left a poor impression. I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant and give it a fair chance, but based on the service we received, I highly doubt we'll be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers shouldn't have to repeatedly ask about their food after waiting that long.

Let me say you better come with your appetite. Or you're going home with leftovers. I wanted a po-boy, shrimp n crawfish. It wasn't in the menu but waitress made it happen. That's a good waitress. When the platter showed up, it had a po-boy loaded, LOADED, with shrimp and tails. So many that they fell on ver into the FFs. Everything was excellent. Big shrimp. Lots of tails. An excellent tartar sauce. The FFs were some of the best I've ever had. I asked for crispy - they were perfect. I had so much left over the wife and I had it for dinner. When I got home, I told my daughter in law, who's from Shreveport, and she said Sam's is the best. She's right. Can't wait to try other offerings.
