Arrived at peak lunch hour. Only 4 other customers inside. That should have been our "sign". The meat on my sandwich was charred and dry, as was my friends. Burgers where sloppily thrown together, one meal was missing the fries, and there was a black hair in the caramelized onions on one of the burgers. I had previously gotten takeout at WindRush and it was great. It's hard to find a good veggie burger. I told my fiancé about this place and he wanted to try it. I was sad to disappoint him. I had a very special occasion that I wanted to celebrate this month. I called A MONTH in advance and was told by the hostess that they did not do reservations, but to call early on the day of arrival and my guests and I would be accommodated. On the celebratory day, I called that morning as soon as the restaurant opened to request "call ahead" seating for my guests and I. I was rudely told by the hostess on this day that "We don't do reservations, and what you're asking us to do is make a reservation." I explained to her that I called a month earlier and that those were the instructions that I was given. She told me that what the hostess "meant" to tell me was to call 15 minutes prior to arrival. So, here we are, 15 mins before the scheduled celebratory meal, I call for accommodations. Different hostess answers with the same belligerent attitude and tells me, "I don't know what you were told, but we don't hold tables at all. Not 15 min before, not a month before. We've reached maximum capacity and the wait time is an hour to an hour-and-a-half." So sad that I had special guests come from out of town and I had to scramble to find midday accommodations at another restaurant for us because I was misinformed and misled by THREE different employees from this establishment. Windrush has quickly become a family favorite. We go there for brunch on Sunday's and for dinner almost every week! Their steaks are excellent, along with any other meat. One of my favorites is their chicken fried chicken. I also enjoy their brunch offerings on Sunday (with $1 mimosas!) My only complaint is that the portions are inconsistent. For example: the chicken fried chicken dish is huge and I cannot finish it. But, the huegos rancheros are two tiny tacos. Other than that inconsistency Windrush is perfect! read more

My husband and I live not too far from Windrush so we keep hoping it will improve since it could be considered our neighborhood restaurant. The food has been mediocre; it does not always look very appetizing on the plate, and the last time I ordered a fried shrimp poboy there were six little shrimp spaced out on the bun. When we head to Windrush, it's always after sighing and saying, "Wanna try Windrush ONE MORE TIME?" We must be slow learners. read more

I'm not entirely sure if I enjoy Windrush or not. The convenience of their location in Provenance is probably the only reason I go there as much as I do. The food is usually good but doesn't ever leave me "craving Windrush!" We've ordered TOGO a few times since we have kids and its not exactly a place to bring the little guys on a Friday night. Both times, the guy behind the bar acted as if getting our TOGO order was the worst chore of his life. All that being said, Windrush is an ok place overall. Convenience is its main selling point and I won't let the crappy TOGO service keep me from returning since most of the other staff is friendly and nice. If their menu was more extensive, I'd choose PieWorks every time though. read more

The atmosphere is nice, quite and dark. The menu has a good variety. My only issue is the cost. I feel everything is about $2 too much. That being said 2 for 1 burgers on Wednesdays has the parking lot full. All in all, good food, just a little pricy. read more

Let me start off with the positive. The servers here are friendly and attentive. You get seated quickly and they have an seating area that accommodates a large group, which is nice. The ambiance is nice. However (and this is a big "however"), I will not be going back to this restaurant. Their problem is that they are trying to be an "upscale" establishment with upscale prices, but their food is only average, and frankly they offer dishes that you can get at any run-of-the-mill restaurant or diner. My mother got the "grown up grilled cheese" (just because you add onions and call it grownup, does not negate the fact that you are charging $14 for a grilled cheese sandwich, which frankly, I could make at home), several people got the French dip sandwich (which they said was good, but no better than what you can get at any of a dozen delis), one person got the chicken fried steak (can get better at Cracker Barrel for half the price), and Chicken Alfredo (ok, but can get the same thing at any restaurant for less $$), etc. I didn't want a sandwich, so I ordered the pan seared Red Snapper and Cajun crawfish sauce (an extra $3 for the sauce). It came with mashed potatoes (bland) and steamed broccoli (boring). I substituted the broccoli for sautéed spinach, which came out drowning in olive oil. The fish by itself was bland, and tasted 'fishy', which lead me to believe that it wasn't fresh, I think it was frozen fish. My bill, just for myself, came to $40. Forty dollars for bland, not fresh fish, greasy spinach and bland potatoes. You can see the problem here. If you are going to brand yourself as an upscale eatery, you've got to have the food to match. And they don't. read more

I've been here before at lunch and was excited to be able to bring my wife here for a date night. I talked it up to her and was very let down. At one point she had to talk me out of just leaving and finding a different place. We walked in and was finally greeted by someone who rolled their eyes when they finally decided to acknowledge we were there. We were seated and promptly ignored for around 10 minutes. Made our drink and dinner orders and waited. After we ordered, I thought it'd be nice to have a cup of coffee before dinner so so stopped another member of the wait staff to ask if they had any coffee. I didn't know when my waitress would be back so I thought there was no harm in asking. As I was asking, I noticed our waiter staring daggers from the other side of the building. She then came over and was very short when telling me they'd have to make a pot. I had no problem waiting and so that was that. Except I then heard her discussing my coffee order with the party that seemed to be going on in the kitchen. I guess they didn't realize we could hear every single word of what was goin no on back there. All in all, the food was good but the service was horrible. This place is such a disappointment! It has so much potential- good location for us, nice ambience, fantastic menu. Unfortunately, the food is not good and service mediocre at best. We have tried this restaurant several times thinking maybe we ordered the wrong thing or they were having an off day. I give up!! This last time was brunch August 10, 2019. Waited about 40 minutes for our food, and it was a repeat of past experience. Tasteless food, poor quality. The bacon tasted like plastic, husband said his sausage also had a plastic taste. Eggs ordered over easy - hard, waffle cold in middle. Everything we've ordered tasted of low-quality premade. Had to ask and then wait for coffee refill. Close to $40 for breakfast for 2. My family and I went to Windrush this morning looking for a good Sunday brunch place. The decor is nice and bordering on urban-vibe. It is however, understaffed which means service is slower when the dining room is busy. We ordered strawberry crepes, spinach and mushroom crepes, a salmon plate, and a crabcake benedict. Both crepes and the salmon plate were very good, the crabcake benedict was overdone which is a big foul for any benedict dish. Friendly staff and many choices make this a decent stop. read more

Came in for brunch on Saturday with the family and was embarrassed for choosing this place. The place was empty and still managed to wait over an hour for subpar food. I can only count 3 other tables in the restaurant and still horrible service. Sever never once gave an update on our food or offered any apology on the wait or poor service. Picked the Smoked Salmon and the Swiss Burger. The salmon was smoked, in that it had been in the same room as something which was putting off smoke. Was almost raw, cold in parts. I hate to send food back, but I asked them to 'throw it on a skillet or something that's not out of the staff's way, I'm just really picky about my fish. It tastes great though!' I've been here before where the food was great. This time it wasn't that good. The Firecracker shrimp tasted like freezer burn shrimp. What made our experience worse is we ordered a dessert then changed our mind. My friend went back to the area where the servers pick up food at the window. She saw our server & another server tasting food off the plates in the window & saying "Oh that's good!" Um yeah, we won't be back there! I don't live in Shreveport but my parents live down the road. This place is ridiculous... we had reservations for 5 adults and 3 children for Father's Day brunch... we arrive and they can't find our reservation and then they proceed to try and seat us at a small round table that they crammed 6 chairs into... where are my 3 children that need high chairs going to sit you genius?!? May I add I have triplets and a newborn and my newborn was in his carrier so I can easily put him on the floor next to me but my triplets need space to eat at the table too! So I told them that wasn't going to work... we can't all sit there... literally no room. Then they try to sit us at an even smaller space and try to again cram 6 chairs into with no room for high chairs... like do you not see my nearly 2 year old triplets?!?! Do you expect them to eat off the floor?!? I was furious. So we said we were leaving and then the manager proceeded to snap off to me to which I immediately snapped back because I was so disappointed in their customer service and how they handled their mistakes! Plus their food is priced ridiculously high for below average food. Don't waste your time. And the wait times for food and service is sooo long. I don't see how this place stays open. Oh and I'll add that they weren't busy at all... they MAYBE had 5 parties seated in the entire restaurant. We took our business to southern trace country club and they graciously accommodated us even when we didn't have a reservation on Father's Day! decided to try something new and came here instead of some place "in town". Seated immediately, but we were seated over in the a little corner table with refrigerated doors where drinks and wine were kept on one side and a coat rack on the other side, not too far from a door leading outside where it was cold and raining, it seems several ppl couldnt do without their nicotine and would come and go thru this door to the patio. After sitting for about 15 minutes another group came in and were seated at the next table to us, after about another 5 minutes they had a server come and take their drink order, another 5 minutes and we are putting our jackets on a server from another area comes over and asked if we had been helped yet to which we answered no, she sent the other waitress over to us who said she was just out of training, i ordered the chicken fried chicken with corn and mashed potatoes, the chicken was really good, but the corn was bland and the mashed potatoes were luke warm in some places and room temperature in the rest, prices were a bit inflated, the one bright spot was their sweet tea. all in all we wont be returning read more

Came here for a Saturday brunch and had an excellent experience. Service was friendly and attentive. Not too busy and both the indoor and outdoor seating options were beautiful. Had the French toast and it was superb, you could tell it was cooked fresh and the portions were generous. Beats a chain breakfast restaurant any day.
