Mind you their was a family member with her 24/7 until she was called home. Does that make a difference - maybe but the staff was attentive to other patients just the same. Its not a happy place - people are at various stadges of health and some are dying. That's life - to complain that enough was not done? Well some folks are never happy and others are selfish with there time and expect more than what can be offered. Think before you complain - was there something I could have done at that time to change the outcome. As for theft - items of value should be left at home! And likely it still could have come up missing - if there was sentimental value. Its possibly been secured by a family member... Thank you to all

My mother entered the facility April 3rd of last year. She was also a hospice patient. The care…read morethat Carmel Hill has provided to my mom has been exceptional. They helped her live her last days with dignity and grace. They were responsive to her needs, although she was somewhat non-communicative. She was bathed daily and cleaned up on a regular schedule. The staff has been more that accommodating to our family's requests. They are truly an exceptional group to work with. My experience with my mother being a resident here has all been very positive. I find that if you have a loved one here it is very important that you are present that you visit often and get to know the staff. The CNA's took very good care of my mother and communicated well with our private caregivers. They were always attentive to all her needs and worked as a team with our private caregivers. The Nurses were exceptionally caring by making sure my mother took her meds with chocolate pudding. The activities staff were enthusiastic and caring; the kitchen staff were attentive to my mother's preferences in food. The entire staff is to be commended for the professional way they go about difficult job they have. Once again, I would say that if you do have a loved one in care anywhere you should visit them often. I think that really affects their care, when the staff knows that your loved one is not just being dropped off but instead they are still an active part of their family. My mother recently passed away April 13, 2022 she had dementia. For years, we care for her at home and as she progressed, we had to make that hard decision to place her here. We are so fortunate to have found this place for my mother, how all the staff took such great care of her. I want to thank the administration Carole Dorsey, RN Director of Nursing Services for accommodating our whole family to be able to see my mom on her last moments of life, and Thank you to all the staff for the kindness and wonderful care you showed for my mother. No mumbo jumbo. just a straight shooter. I was very impressed. She was not the usual type medical provider I've been referred to lately thats reading the referral and looking at their watch as they greet you. She was very clear in what the Vertigo test would consist of. This was not a hearing test, just the Ear Channels and Chrystals therein. She explained the tests would only take a couple of minutes and if the ears were the problem it would be an easy fix. She put some kind of googles on both eyes, that sent information to a machine that deciphered and showed eye movement on TV Screen, which gave her an indication of which Inner Ear Channel may be causing a problem. She ask my wife to watch the TV screen so she could see what was happening. She tested me 3 times cuz she wasn't believing my 1st result based on my age. Spent about an hour with me asking questions, etc. When we talked about the Black Eye I had several months ago she said vision can also affect Dizziness. Luckily I have an Eye Doctor appointment next week If your having Dizzy spells or think you have Vertigo or been diagnosed with Vertigo, you should definitely see Lynn Herbert for testing and treatment. She…read morewas on medical leave for more than two months after a surgery so I was unable to see her after another episode of vertigo and I went to another physical therapist... I was declared vertigo free by this individual however, it cropped up quickly again after my treatment. Fortunately, Lynn became available and I went to her and because of her expertise, many years experience and her excellent training plus the use of camera goggles she got me over this last bout as she always has in the past. Key for me has been the therapist using the goggles with cameras so they can see exactly what the eye movements are and I believe that is key to successful treatment. Cannot say enough about her. She knows her stuff snd she's an excellent practitioner, compassionate, and understanding as well.

He then transferred to Windsor Garden in Salinas and was able to go home occasionally because by then we had a ventilator at home. I just had my last class and I can't believe it's been a year already, the time flew by because it was such a pleasant punishment! The interviews were also something I'll miss, because Bernard truly cared about me and offered his wisdom and assistance 24/7...that meant a lot to me. I am so happy I decided on Canterbury Woods. Their nursing personnel are their greatest asset. I had a complicated med administration schedule with multiple overlapping medical diagnoses that would have caused havoc at a facility that wasn't as patient-centered and flexible. A culture of respect and care seemed to be strong at every level of the organization's structure. I observed administrators frequently interacting with staff and patients . The environment was homey, not clinical or stark. There were some oddities-such as the location of the shower facilities, but these were comparatively minor quirks. There was a bright activity room that encouraged patient interaction and an adjacent sunny flower filled patio available for patients. I was struck by the level and quality of staff-patient interactions and noted that the staff wasn't permanently attached to computers but focused on patients and their needs. A tech from CHOMP comes once a week to do blood draws, the in-house physician read my file before she saw me on her "rounds" She was observant, sensitive, listened , was compassionate, and did a good job coordinating my care. Some of the other highlights? The OT and PT staffs are superior. The food is incredible, and there is a set "comfort food" menu available for every meal service if the options on offer aren't appealing.
