My boyfriend and I were visiting family and we decided to grab dinner and thought it was cute a restaurant in a train depot and it was so quaint. All the workers were amazing, had a wonderfully made drink. The chicken & vodka pasta was amazing as well as the Alfredo. We will definitely be going back next time we come to visit. read more

We had the best early evening at Windsor Station. Greeted immediately with enthusiasm, we were stoked to imbibe! Our server Mark was festive and perfectly attentive. The coolest setting for a fantastic dinner! This actual train station is completely vintage inside, with multitudes of antiquities from a time past. The menu is great with something for everyone, the specials seem to be the way to go. Reservations are a good idea. The meal started with warm crusty bread with delicious maple butter. Two in our party had the swordfish special and opted to have it with a fabulous risotto instead of potatoes, I had a ravioli in a cream sauce with peas & prosciutto special, and my daughters had a cheeseburger & fries and ravioli with marinara. Everything was served warm and tasted sumptuous. We have been to this restaurant three times in the past few months. It was perfect all three times. Great for little kids. Great for date night. Great to bring out-of-town foodie friends. My husband and I went here for dinner while on vacation and it was our favorite place we visited. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. What really made our experience amazing was that we accidentally left our card there. After a simple call back the waitress made sure she kept it safe and mailed it back to us. Our third time at Windsor and they never disappoint! Our favorite server tended to us and he always goes out of his way to explain things and make sure we're happy. The drink menu is always revolving, featuring locally made beer and spirits. The dinner menu offers many original dishes and everything we've ever had here has been delicious. To start we had the ginger carrot soup - ALWAYS on point! I had the blackened salmon while my girlfriend had the chicken piccata. Both were phenomenal! Sit by the window around 6-7pm and you'll be able to see the freight trains pass by - another novelty I love about visiting. You guys have customers for life! Always a treat to visit! read more

The food is excellent. The beer selection is fantastic - not endless, but excellent quality. The service staff is very friendly and attentive. The environment is fun. Salads delicious. Burger out of this world with Cloudland organic beef. Stuffed jalapenos excellent too. I would say that the hostess and whoever the personality is on the phone could use a few nights off - seems a bit curt. But you only have to interact with her for an instant so no biggie. read more

The food is very good. The Bruschetta appetizer alone would bring us back. Salmon was cooked just the way I like it. Crips around the edges. My hubby had the seafood pasta which he enjoyed. Without a doubt, one of the worst run restaurants I have been in my life. It took 55 minutes for my food to get here and during that time, I was not offered any water and bread until 5 minutes before the steak arrived. They offered me to buy my beer (which they did) and the waitress apologized and said she would bring me a free shot. 20 minutes later, no free shot. I had to go get the hostess to get my check so I could get out of there. The waitress brought me a shot at that time, which I declined. I have never had such bad service. Not coming back to this place ever, even if it is in a pretty and old train station building. read more

Three things I liked and disliked about this place: Liked the - Spaghetti: there was a lot of it and both the sauce and meatballs were excellent. Unless you are big, hungry or both, order the 1/2 portion as they are generous orders. - Craft Beer: for a small place, they had a good section of craft beers on tap. - Atmosphere: this is a historic train station that exudes Vermont and New England. The three thing that distracted from their greatness: - parking. It can be hard to find. - Wifi: none - pours: I had a very young bartender and the IPA pour was foamy. I ended up with sub-par pours twice when an experienced bartender would have understood how to do this. Overall a positive experience. read more

Our favorite local place. Great service, friendly staff and the food is always amazing!

Start with bread and butter. The butter is rumoured to have been laced with cocaine and maple syrup. It is incredible. They brought more bread. Then more butter. As good as it is, save room for dinner. Whatever you order may be incredible. I had the ribeye. What a dinner! Thin cut but cooked perfectly medium rare. The sides were roasted potatoes and roasted fresh summer vegetables. All were caramelized with enough garlic to make every bite delicious. Trusaint (wife) had the Bass special. Same sides. Her fish was roasted and covered with roasted corn. Delicious as well. Nice selection of local artisan beers and hard cider on tap. Many more cans/bottled to choose from. Interesting cocktail menu. We were so full we could not try any desert. Staff was friendly, with our waiter doing a great job all around. When dinner was over we headed to the bar for live music. A trio made our night complete and we headed back to the resort happy. Reservations strongly suggested. This place is highly recommended! read more

This place is fun. Great old-style bar-in-a-train-station ambiance. Was there with a group of 6, and started with some of their wide selection of beers and cocktails. The Long Trail Blackberry was great with some of the best wings I have had in a long time. I went old-school with the spaghetti and meatballs which were hearty and good, and the others had a mix of the swordfish special, vegan burger, and a variety of other things. Service was warm and helpful, recommending both beers and different menu items. Can't wait to be back in Vermont to go back to Windsor Station. read more

Can't say enough about our experience here. The atmosphere is genuine and warm. The staff, especially our server, Regan (sorry for the spelling Regan if it's not correct) is GREAT! They do not offer soup as a regular item, but they should. They had a 3 Bean and vegetable soup the night we dined and it was tremendous. Have been to Windsor station restaurant a couple times now and haven't been disappointed yet the first time I went there we just kind of walked in as you need a reservation to get in since it's so popular and I was greeted with politeness kindness as the host, took care of our needs we were there tonight and had katlyn as a waitress. She did a phenomenal job, made us feel like we were in a ritzy fancy restaurant with a casual comfortable feel she was right on target with everything you need to be an A+ waitress with just the right amount of humor, and checked up on us appropriately . The atmosphere is cozy and the food is amazing. Can't say enough will be back many times. read more

Wait was 45 minutes on a Thursday in sept but it was well worth it. It was well worth the wait, we got a nice private booth, the place used to be a train station and has fresh Reno with nice original floors and a lot of the old charm of a 1700 century train station. Had dinner hear during my New England tour and was quite pleased. Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and wasn't disappointed. Great portions and super tasty. Outstanding restaurant in this quaint little town of VT! Mushroom soup florentine was delicious and piping hot. The salad was perfect temperature (not like the busy places where they keep them almost frozen in the fridge). The chicken piccata was some of the best I've ever had - tender and delicious. We had such a lovely dinner here on a Sunday night after the Covered Bridges Half Marathon earlier in the day. First of all, the space is phenomenal. Dinner inside of an old train depot? An experience I never knew I needed to have. We got a booth in the bar area - so adorable. Our server was wonderful and helped us pick both cocktails and dinner. We ate and drank and chatted for several hours. Since it was a Sunday, it wasn't too busy and we were able to enjoy each other's company for a bit after finishing, and no one rushed us out of there. Windsor Station earned its name because the restaurant is actually set into the old Windsor railroad station. This makes for an interesting interior. This restaurant overall is a safe bet, but its not for everyone. They have a large selection of craft beers and different cocktails are featured everyday. They have a specials board which is visible from any part of the dining area. It features a very dim atmosphere which usually represents a intimate dining experience. This becomes convoluted when the attached bar room has live music playing. I'm a fan of live music, but they don't seem to have a set day of the week for it. Its too bad there isn't more of a disconnect between the dining room and bar. Its hard to enjoy this place when you can't hear the person you're dining with. read more

I had one if the tastiest burgers I've had in a long time here. Maybe the tastiest burger I've ever had. My husband also ordered a burger and loved it. He orders his medium rare and I order mine medium well. They were both done to perfection. And the hand-cut fries were perfectly done as well. We sat in the main dining area, but are looking forward to heading over to eat and drink at the bar. They have a nice selection of craft beers. read more

It's nice to see that the Windsor Station is open once again. As visitors we were greeted with open arms. The hostess and all of the wait staff were very pleasant and the service outstanding. The menu is very diverse and I must add that the Wine and beer prices are very reasonable. Unlike most restaurants they are not out to make all of their profit on alcohol, but focus on getting you to return. As with any good restaurant, don't expect to walk in and get a seat. You'll need to make reservations. But if you don't mind sitting at the spacious bar, their typically is a place for you. It's about time that Windsor had a decent restaurant. Was visiting the family and we popped in here for dinner (but knew to make a reservation ahead of time). Was really neat to have dinner here and see some of the old elements from the actual train station. We were also lucky enough to snag a table by the window in one of the separate rooms (I believe used to be the ticketing station back in the day) Everyone on the staff was very welcoming and warm, as you would expect in most small town establishments. They have a decent selection of food items that should meet anyone's interests. I was also impressed with their specialty cocktail menu. I ordered the pork chop and mashed potatoes (hearty meal). The chop was HUGE, seriously not used to that portion size anymore. It was a bit overly breaded and fried for my liking. I wanted to taste more of the pork itself. Potatoes were garlic mashed and very tasty. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more
