Wine Boss! Such a perfect name for a wine bar. We met the owner, Tommy and he welcomed us from the start. His chill personality made us feel welcomed. He made us feel at home and poured some great tastings. We were here for hours, until it closed! We made a friend who was a local and enjoyed his company, he is a good friend of Tommy. Wine Boss has a great selection of wines, including the Pepper label. This place is a fun wine bar to hang out at on a Friday night. The customer service is exceptional, we felt like family in a low key environment. I ended up purchasing two bottles, rose and Cabernet Sauvignon and came up on a Wine Boss glass! This is a pretty rockin' wine bar in downtown Paso Robles. I originally heard about this from seeing the owner's social media and though would stop by next time in town. The bar is super close to downtown and walking distance from a lot of great downtown restaurants. The place is very cozy and laid back. They have a good selection of some of their own wines as well as other local wines to try. They also have a ton of fun events and if you like music try to get to one of their live rock or music events. It can get a little wild but a ton of fun and great vibes. My friends accidentally found this place and decided to host a private event here prior to their wedding. Wine Boss was easy to find and there is ample parking. Knowing that I would be drinking, I caught an Uber there from my hotel. It was only a short 4-5 minute ride. The place is a lot larger than I expected and they have a back open area to chill at as well. If it wasn't open bar, I probably would have chilled there instead of right at the bar. The night I went, they had live music which was nice. They have a good wine selection, beer and sake as well. I don't think I had anything that I didn't like and I drank their entire menu for the evening. The bartenders were very friendly and on it with customer service. Vibe was very chill and laid back so I see why my friends chose the venue. Nice find in Paso Robles and I would recommend anyone to check them out. read more

As I plan a tasting trip, I always seek out unusual varietals or experiences. When I saw that Wine Boss offers Petit Verdot as a single varietal AND as a rose, I was immediately interested. Made a reservation online through Tock, and was pleasantly surprised to find we were the only customers. Apparently, it was the day after an event that ran long, and they were meant to be closed, but opened just for us since we had a reservation. Chaz was a really fun host and we chatted quite a bit about the local area and the wine industry in general. He was very informative, but not stuffy at all. Felt like we were just chatting with a friend. He expertly guided us to several vintages/varietals that we might not otherwise have tried, and we did walk away with a PV and one of those epic PV roses (plus a cab sauv/tannat blend)! My wife and I were in the mood for some wine before dinner while visiting Paso Robles, and came across this place. We ended up doing the tasting. Tommy, one of the owners, gave us the grand tour of wines on the list that he made. He was very knowledgeable and even gave us a taste of some of the wines not on the list. The place is a small speakeasy that has a very relaxed environment. Think sort of a Casablanca vibe. This is the best hang out with local owners Alex and Tommy! Both winemakers that opened a speakeasy style tasting room. It's fun to chat with them about their wine and beer list. Great list. Love that they support small producers of wineries! Best thing is that they stay open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. We ventured here on a Friday night and was very pleased. It's a brand new wine bar, only open for 2weeks. I really liked the fact that the owners were there pouring and talking with customers. We used the check in offer since my boyfriend likes beer more than wine. He liked the choices they had and we were told that they change up the beer selection every month I believe. I love that they told us that they cater to the smaller wineries and helping the little guy get recognition for their product. They had a lot to choose from, from around the county and they also had their own wines to taste, which were amazing I might add!! Staff is always quite pleasant and knowledgeable about their wines, which I always appreciate and try to learn something new from. The late hours are especially useful considering the local wineries overwhelmingly close by 5. We came in around 8:30 on a Friday night and it was pretty dead. There were only two other couples but we wanted to check it out so we sat down at the bar. The menu is large but they were out of several things, which the bartender did state. We each ordered a glass and were enjoying our choices until they turned up the music so loud you couldn't have a conversation.
