Whiskey Girl had wings which were tender and juicy with a little spicy kick. Meatballs had a nice beefy flavor. Casablanca Lounge had fried zucchini sticks. Nice crunchy batter sized like big french fries. I prefer big zucchini spears where you get more zucchini flavor and less of the batter. 10 Barrel Brewing had pork belly. Delicious crunchy pork goodness. Samples were the size of jelly beans. Wish I could have gotten seconds of this dish. Knotty Barrel had cornflake breaded chicken strips. Crunchy and nice flavor. Wish these were available back in the day when I was eating chicken nuggets 10 at a time at McDonalds. East Village Tavern and Bowl had bbq meatballs. Good beefy flavor with sweet and tangy sauce. I honestly cannot imagine our trip going any better than it did, and a *huge* part was thanks to Tony from Baja Wine Tours. I could go on and on regarding all of the tiny and not so tiny details that contributed to our incredible weekend, but I'd rather highlight just a few that really stood out: 1. Individualization and Customization- Tony worked closely with my friends to capture the perfect trip for us, which meant a healthy amount of booze and incredible food. He presented options and was completely flexible both prior to and during the trip. I have no question that i will be revisiting several of these spots with the hubby in the future. 2. Ease with Large Group- We were travelling with a crew of 10 which can pose challenges with places to stay, settling tabs, travelling, etc. Tony helped us find the perfect place to stay with separate rooms and plenty of space and picked us up and drove us to all sites. The best part was that he assisted with handling the tab at most of the restaurants and wineries and then provided a total at the end for everyone to contribute towards, Except for me, which was my personal favorite part. :) 3. Border Crossing- Tony picked us all up at my home on Thursday morning and loaded up the vehicle with all of our luggage like an absolute pro. We were immediately comfortable with him as he came off as friendly and outgoing, however also very professional and trustworthy. We only grew to love him more throughout the trip, and the crossing back into the US on Saturday night was one of the easiest that I have experienced in all of my trips to Mexico over the years. I cannot express how much I recommend working with Tony and the rest of the team at Baja Wine Tours to experience Via de Guadalupe. We can't wait to go back!

Tony and Nick take you on an incredible adventure exploring some of the most boutique and gorgeous wineries that VDG has to offer. Taking a van into the Valley, Nick and Tony give you a good perspective on what to expect and even pack some beverages for the group. They ensure all guests' needs are met without seeming to herd cats. (which is sometimes the case with the larger tour companies). You can really tell that Tony has built a report with the owners which leads to an even more warm and inviting atmosphere. The best part of the day (besides the wine) is the amazing dinner everyone enjoys together in the lobster village of Puerto Nuevo. Nothing like steak and lobster after a long day of drinking the best wines I've ever had. I could not be more happy with our adventures and I look forward to joining them again soon.

VERY ORGANIZED. Lots of good eats, no place ran out of food. But My stomach ran out of space. San Diego offers a couple of "Taste of (fill in the neighborhood)" and San Diego County offers a few "Taste of (fill in the city)". Through the years I've been to a handful of them and select based on variety of offerings.. Taste of Adams Avenue is probably the best within San Diego proper as it offers a variety of different foods... 2 mile span, 4hr window, and 43 bites/sippies (growing bigger each year). :: THE EXPERIENCE :: Check-in starts at 10am, event starts at 11am and ends at 3pm. I managed to knock out 32 of 42 (11 left) in 3hrs and couldn't finish without feeling like my stomach expanding and my butt was about to explode. I even prepared by taking a Pepcid AC + Tums beforehand. There was so many good eats, plenty of food, and a few that are pass-able. Let's start off with the least favorite. ***LEAST FAVORITE (serving choice + portion) 1) WHITE RICE BODEGA (Filipino) - cornbread or beans. UHM, kind of disappointed they made something so easy and cheap just to participate yet not even something Filipino. We looked at some condos that were for sale in different East Village buildings and got to walk around the neighborhood and sample some of the restaurants. Our tour guide, Brent, is a resident of East Village himself so he was very knowledgable about the area. Throughout the tour we kept running into people who knew him so you could tell he was very invested in the area and in his job. We even got to go on a private tour of Petco Park as the Padres were warming up for a game. I previously was not too psyched on living in East Village but this tour really made me rethink my position. I highly recommend these tours for anyone who is thinking of buying a condo in downtown San Diego. It's much more informative than just going to see condos by themselves and it's a lot of fun!
