I'm a planner, so giving up control of my bachelorette party to the besties required a bit of an effort. But being overwhelmed by wedding planning meant that I was more than happy to just let go and trust the process. I honestly cannot imagine our trip going any better than it did, and a *huge* part was thanks to Tony from Baja Wine Tours. I could go on and on regarding all of the tiny and not so tiny details that contributed to our incredible weekend, but I'd rather highlight just a few that really stood out: 1. Individualization and Customization- Tony worked closely with my friends to capture the perfect trip for us, which meant a healthy amount of booze and incredible food. He presented options and was completely flexible both prior to and during the trip. I have no question that i will be revisiting several of these spots with the hubby in the future. 2. Ease with Large Group- We were travelling with a crew of 10 which can pose challenges with places to stay, settling tabs, travelling, etc. Tony helped us find the perfect place to stay with separate rooms and plenty of space and picked us up and drove us to all sites. The best part was that he assisted with handling the tab at most of the restaurants and wineries and then provided a total at the end for everyone to contribute towards, Except for me, which was my personal favorite part. :) 3. Border Crossing- Tony picked us all up at my home on Thursday morning and loaded up the vehicle with all of our luggage like an absolute pro. We were immediately comfortable with him as he came off as friendly and outgoing, however also very professional and trustworthy. We only grew to love him more throughout the trip, and the crossing back into the US on Saturday night was one of the easiest that I have experienced in all of my trips to Mexico over the years. I've been on a few wine tours around Valle De Guadalupe before but none have compared to the hospitality and flexibility of BWT for a Cause. Tony and Nick take you on an incredible adventure exploring some of the most boutique and gorgeous wineries that VDG has to offer. Taking a van into the Valley, Nick and Tony give you a good perspective on what to expect and even pack some beverages for the group. They ensure all guests' needs are met without seeming to herd cats. (which is sometimes the case with the larger tour companies). You can really tell that Tony has built a report with the owners which leads to an even more warm and inviting atmosphere. The best part of the day (besides the wine) is the amazing dinner everyone enjoys together in the lobster village of Puerto Nuevo. Nothing like steak and lobster after a long day of drinking the best wines I've ever had. I could not be more happy with our adventures and I look forward to joining them again soon. read more

I was fortunate to experience the Baja Wine Tour for a bachelorette party which was absolutely amazing. I really didn't know what to expect as this was my first visit to Via de Guadalupe but from the minute Tony picked us up in the van from our friend's place in San Diego, we knew from the get go he was going to make the perfect guide for our crew of 10! He customized our visit perfectly, with overnight accommodations in a home with bungalow type rooms to give us some space to spread out; chose wineries that were so beautiful (and unique) and; arranged meals at restaurants that offered some of the most amazing food. I did a private tour with 2 friends and LOVED it! First the logistics: We were picked up in SD and taken back. The traffic to cross on a Saturday around 9pm wasn't bad at all. The entire tour was at our own pace. We had breakfast, visited three wineries and had dinner. All the locations were fabulous!!! The scenery was breath taking. The wineries were super chic. I was lucky enough to be a guest on the first ever Baja Wine Tour for a Cause and it was fantastic. The logistics were great--pick up was easy, crossing the border was a breeze (though maybe it was the first time I crossed and needed my passport!), and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Food and wine were both good--We didn't hit any of the real foodie spots down there, so the meals weren't exceptional, but all of them tasty and in really fun, cool spots. My husband wanted to take me wine tasting for my birthday so as anyone does, they go on Google and do the research. I have been to the Valley many times on my own, but also had a pleasure to experience it with Tony twice: once on a private 14 people tour for a friend's birthday, and once on one of the big tours Tony organizes. Everything is well-planned from start to finish: you don't need to worry about driving, figuring out where to eat or which wineries to go to- Tony does it all for you! He takes you to the hidden gems of the Valley I never knew existed. A friend of a friend booked a little Baja day trip with these guys which included a lovely brunch place, three nice wineries, and a lobster dinner in Puerto Nuevo. She invited my friend who, in turn, invited his roommate and me. I think were were 14 people in all. ~ Co-owner Tony picked us up in Chula Vista in a van and away we went with him, off to a really nice day. He was great about pointing out sites and sharing facts. He struck the right balance of feeling like an important part of our day, but also reading clues about when to let us all have our time to ourselves, too. ~ At the end of the day, for logistical reasons, his business partner Nick was the one to drive us back from P.N. At first I was a little disappointed that we wouldn't get to finish our day with our new friend Tony, but it turned out to be great, as Nick was funny and friendly and helped pass the time on the long drive back. ~ Definitely recommendable! read more
