It was very spicy for me, but I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Flavor was great though. I also got the chocolate fondue for two. I tried to eat it all by myself, but failed. It's just melted milk chocolate, nothing out of the ordinary, but I appreciate how much chocolate and sides it came with. Asked the bartender for a recommendation on wine. We went to Wineology during COVID and this restaurant is clearly making accommodations to serve the community of Kingsville. Not only is there a patio set up on Main Street, but there is a hidden roof top patio around the back of the restaurant. We were lucky enough to get one of the three tables on the roof top. This restaurant does wine flights and allows you to sample different types of varietals from regions around the globe. They say they do 2 oz pours but let me tell you that the bartender was extraordinarily generous with the wine sample pours. I was slightly disappointed being in wine country that there was no local wine tasting option on the menu. For dinner we started with the goat cheese and beet salad and the halloumi salad. Although the portions were quite ample these salads were very generic and nothing special. We then had the spicy shrimp with pineapple and chorizo salsa. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce had the right balance of creamy, sweet and spicy. We finished the meal off with a gluten free pizza with spinach, tomato sauce and prosciutto. I am normally not a fan of a crispy crust but this gluten free dough had a crispy exterior with a slight chew to its interior. If you're gluten free and like thin crust pizza, then this Resto has the pie for you! I love this restaurant and I've been always pleased with the owner and most of the waiters / waitresses. I would recommend this place to everyone however I just want to rant about my situation on Saturday. We called a week prior for a reservation fine, all was good. The day before they called my friend who made the reso (mind you we are all nurses and work night Shifts) and she didn't pick up because she was at work. She called right back at 4 when they opened on Saturday to see what the call was about, it was apparently confirming the reso (which I've never had to do with any place including this one) and they gave away our reservation which is unacceptable. This was a birthday dinner and they said we could come at nine which was no issue we would have went, but because of the attitude and blunt rudeness of this employee we went to Nicos which was amazing as well. No hate to Wineology love it there, but this employee was simply rude and especially to nurses who have been busting ass for 3 years. Merry Christmas to you!!!!! read more

My immediate impression when I walked in was that I was at the old Spago's Trattoria: heavy stone and wood decor, dim lighting, with an enormous pizza oven anchoring the room. I liked it. Between the dim lighting and Ray Charles softly playing, I felt pretty relaxed right away. I sat down at the bar and perused their wines available by the glass, which was quite a lengthy list. I had a glass of California Chardonnay, which I loved, and a glass of Côte du Rhone. The Chardonnay was accurately described by my server, Tina, as smooth yet very full bodied. I was extremely impressed that each wine I ordered had proper corresponding stemware, I haven't seen that in Windsor before. I had oysters, a meat and cheese platter, and a pizza. The oysters were big, briny, well-shucked Malpecs, which is hard not to like. The meat and cheese platter costs $25 but is extremely generous. It had five different cheeses and four different meats, as well as some bread, olives, dried fruit, nuts, as well as some fig jam infused with red wine. None of the cheeses or meats were spectacular on their own, but as something to snack on with wine, it works well. I had Vince's Pizza, which is topped with figs and prosciutto. It was a little dry, it could have done with a little olive oil or drizzle of balsamic, but again as a casual snack, it's tasty. The service was undeniably terrific. Tina seemed to know what she was doing, though she did refer to my Chardonnay as a Napa Chardonnay, which is untrue because it's actually a blend of grapes from three different counties, one of which is Napa. But she was very kind. She went above and beyond by giving me change when she said she saw parking services eyeing my car. I have heard that when it gets busy here, service takes a slight hit. That's always going to be the case to a degree. But, since it wasn't busy at all - I was there shortly after it opened - and my service was spot on, I can't speak to that much. The reserve list of wines by the bottle looked pretty cool as well, wish I had more time or was with a bigger group. Would have loved to try the French Sauvignon Blanc by the bottle. Wineology is certainly imperfect, and there are things to nitpick about the wine list. I dislike the focus on local wine, it's nice to have some local wines but within reason. I understand that they'll sell, though. I also wish they had some more high end glass pours that aren't from Italy. It's a personal preference for me, though, because I've never been an Italian wine fanatic. My final minor gripe would be that I wish they had some more Pinot noir, other than the one from Ontario, available by the glass. This place is a great start for a city like Windsor. A friend told me before that Wineology isn't a place to go if you want to have dinner, it's a spot for wine and snacks. And I think that's really the best way to summarize it. read more

My friend and I stopped in here last night while waiting for a show to start at the theater next door. My friend had the salmon dish and I ordered a pizza, with pepperoni, ham, bacon, & sausage. Had a couple of beers. The pizza was awesome. One of the best I have ever had, and I've had some of the best. My friend said his salmon dish was great and I could tell cause his plate was clean when he finished. He had two slices of my pizza and agreed it was unreal. I absolutely loved my visit to Wineology. It was one of the dinner spots on our agenda whilst I was in town for a conference, and I have to say, it ended up being my favourite spot that I visited in Windsor. As soon as you walk in the front door, you are welcomed with a wonderfully decorated, dimly lit wine bar, complete with casks and endless bottles (of course), as well as beautiful fireplaces and chandeliers. Overall, a wonderful date spot and a perfect place to try out some new wines. I had their Portobello & Cremini Mushroom Risotto, which was much denser than I thought it would be, with a very creamy base. And, as the only thing vampiric about me is my skin tone, I also loved the amount of garlic that was in it. Be warned, though, for those who are less crazy about garlic than I am, or who have a date to be getting to, I'd avoid the dish and try out some different tapas instead. I enjoyed the dish with a 9oz glass of the Errazuriz Cab Sauv and really enjoyed it as well. However, I wish I had tried one of their wine flights because really, what an uncommon and novel thing to have! If I'm in Windsor again anytime soon, I'll most certainly be stopping by to try one of their Sommelier flights! Plus, their wine glasses are extremely interesting and made the wine really stand out, in an entirely new way. They all came out very different in sizes and the amount of meats and cheeses. The one couple didn't get raspberry jam or dried fruit or prosciutto. Stopped in just for a bit in the afternoon - some fortification before a late dinner. I cannot comment on the food, only the wine and the ambiance. Attention to detail is everywhere; the glasses picked to serve the wine, the flatware setting (table next to me), and they really seem to know their subject. That is, wine. I ordered a Spanish wine, asked if I could get a bit of Manchego cheese with that, and even though it's not on the menu as an item, they brought me some (with some bread), and didn't charge much for it at all. Cute spot! This place is small and cozy with a nice little patio out front. The area that it's located in isn't fantastic, so if you're staying in one of the hotels on the river and making the trip over I would recommend calling an Uber. The food was good but the menu isn't extensive. Because I'm a vegan I generally expect that Italian restaurants are not going to have many (if any) options for me. However, they did have a build-your-own Pizza option so I ended up loading a pizza with veggies and no cheese. Weird though... the waiter told me I couldn't add more than 4 different veggies because it would take too long to cook. I was a little confused because I think meat generally takes longer to cook? But whatever, I was hungry and I didn't feel like arguing. & the pizza ended up being great! The reason I'm giving Wineology a 3 star rating is because of their service. It took my group sitting at the table for over 20 minutes for us to get glasses of water. Additionally our waiter was also the bartender - so every time someone ordered a drink he would be gone for awhile because he was individually making the drinks for our group. On top of that our waiter forgot drinks, forgot to put in some of our parties food order, etc. The guy definitely needed to get it together, but the restaurant also needs to have another waiter or bartender on staff to help out. read more

Our one friend made an online reservation, I do not recommend this as they have an old system and should update to something more organized like the opentable app. Our waiter was nice, but hard to get a hold of. We were first seated at a tiny table and then told that we were accidentally sat there and we were asked to a larger table -fine, no problem. Halfway through we were being asked to move AGAIN. It became clear that the first move was not a mistake but in fact just us being moved for a smaller group and now we were being asked to move for a larger group. I do not go out to play musical chairs. The owner was not personable and come off as sleazy and did not care about customers, strictly profit. This place is all hype and I would recommend a few other places before this. Not a good experience and will not visit again. Wine flights are the most cost effective way to go, but if you like red I recommend the Côtes du Rhône. I couldn't justify $23 for a standard Napa Valley Cab Sav. read more

I went to both locations on separate occasions. The service was excellent at both locations , seemed to be mainly male servers and were very polite and attentive. The location in Walkerville is a better setup considering it is a bit bigger, I found the one in Tecumseh very small in comparison. However both are decorated very beautifully. The lighting is dark with a very nice candle lit atmosphere. It is definitely a girls night out spot or a date night. Good wine selections and I don't know if they serve anything other than wine to drink. While in Tecumseh I tried the Margarita pizza and it was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It was cooked in a stove oven and it was clearly made with the finest ingredients. It was about 15 dollars and totally worth it. I brought just under half of it home and it was just as good heated in my oven the next day. I will be coming back to try the other pizzas and some more varieties of wine ! read more

I really enjoy the wine and the pizza at wineology. I am a big fan of their wine flights and I like to build my own pizza. The atmosphere is very nice as well. My biggest issue with Wineology is the service--the service is terrible. For the last three visits, I have had to ask for water. We've had to waive over the staff to take our order. They are slow. I realize that it's a fine balance between a server coming to your table too much versus not enough, but Wineology servers are very much on the "not coming enough" side of the spectrum, which is a shame because they have decent wine and food. read more

Went there tonight with a few of my girlfriends for one of their birthdays. I've driven past this place a few times, and thought it would be a great place for us to have dinner and a few drinks. I've been to wine bars such as VinoTeca in Royal Oak, and was excited to try a local wine bar here in Windsor. I made a reservation for 8pm. I really wanted 7pm, but was told that my only options were 8pm or 10pm. I was told that they have a two hour time limit on their tables, and that the 6pm people would be asked to leave at 8pm, so we would definitely have a table at 8pm. Well, that wasn't true. Some of my friends showed up at 7:45pm, and we did not get seated until after 9pm. Ordinarily, I would have left after waiting for 10 minutes because (and I know this will sound snooty but) my time is valuable. We we're told every 10 or 15 minutes that the people at our table we're paying their bill and we would be seated shortly. 8:10pm, we waited. 8:20pm still waiting. 8:30pm, waiting. There was another group that also had an 8pm reservation, and they left. 8:40 pm, I'm not impressed. By this time I felt guilty because I'm the one who suggested this restaurant to my friends. 8:50pm I went outside started calling several other local restaurants to find out if they could accommodate our group of six. When I came back inside to tell my friends what our options were, we were told that our table was ready and we were seated promptly. With tip, everything came out to $250.00 for six people. We ordered 3 or 4 pizzas, a meat and cheese platter, two bottles of wine, a wine sampler, tiramisu and snickers fondue. One of my friends did complain, but no one really apologized for the wait. To be fair, they did bring us 6 free shots, gave one of my friends a free glass of wine and gave us a free piece of tiramisu. We all nibbled on the cheese and meat platter, it was OK but I'm not sure if it was worth the $25.00. The pizzas were also OK, nothing to write home about. We ordered a sweet pizza, that I wasn't sure about, but it was my favourite pizza. It was good, but not good enough for me to want to come back. The Snickers fondu was also OK. I was really looking forward to it, but it did not live up to my expectations. Not sure what it was, but I was not feeling it. The Tiramisu was really good. We liked it, and I would order it again if I returned. Overall, the food was OK. I would not recommend the food, but it's a great place to hang out and have some wine with your friends. Unfortunately, I don't really think I will ever go back. If I had to do it again, I would have went to dinner at another restaurant, and then would have went for drinks at Wineology at the end of the night. This place was terrible. The menu was overpriced, the wine selection was mediocre at best, and the service was quite poor and strange. The ambiance is beautiful, that said, I find that the servers are quite snooty (haughtily asking us if we had a reservation on a Tuesday night when there was clearly quite a bit of room in the restaurant and there were 3 of us). When it was time to order the server walked away before we had a chance to fully complete our order. We ordered fondue for 2 and a shrimp appetizer; then, after about 20 minutes, we saw two ladies at the bar who had walked in 5 minutes before receive a fondue that looked a lot like ours. Confirming what we had assumed, the server came by and in a jovial way let us know that our food had been given to those ladies. He did not offer any sort of apology or compensation for this. When we did receive our food, the shrimp came and there were exactly four shrimp lying on a bed of lettuce, with some (frankly, strange) bits of chorizo mounded in the corners, with about 4 bits of popcorn tossed on top and a weird bit of pineapple. This was obviously bizarre, yet also, totally unpalatable and terrible value as the dish was $13! The wine list wasn't great either, especially considering that that is supposedly their schtick and Trapiche and Periquita (usually approx. $12 wines) are being served for $9 / 6oz? My friend's 6oz glass of wine and 4 shrimp came to $30. I would not go back and would not recommend. I had heard from friends that the service was poor and the food was overpriced, and my suspicions have woefully been confirmed. By the way, the pizza oven was by no means enormous and could only fit about 2 pizzas at a time, just saying. As someone who has eaten out in Windsor at essentially every well-known restaurant (and some favourite dive spots in between), as well as lived in in the major cities across Canada and travelled extensively across Europe and Asia, I can tell you that by no standard could this restaurant be considered "good" or "European". read more

I've never been to a restaurant where I've been so disrespected by staff, let alone the owner! My friend was disappointed with her pizza as the prosciutto was overcooked and hard to eat. We've been here before and enjoyed our food so we assumed it was just a one off and wouldn't bother mentioning it. At the end of the night we asked for takeaway boxes which took over 20 minutes.. then our bills took another 20. We wanted to leave and felt bad that there was a line up at the door of people waiting for tables. After getting our bills we asked for the interac machine... another wait. At this point we were frustrated, wanting to leave for almost an hour now. Finally my friend walked up to the closest staff member who turned out to be the owner, Jean Claude. She said "I'm sorry but could someone please come to our table with a machine so we can pay our bills, we've been waiting a while, the food wasn't great and we would really like to leave". Next thing we know the waiter comes to our table enraged and questioning us about why we "thought the food was s***?" We were shocked and told him we did not state that and simply thought the pizza was overcooked and it was mostly the wait that was disappointing. He still had not brought the machine for us. He continued to argue with us and I had to ask him to stop and again request the machine. Suddenly the owner comes over and I think to myself 'thank goodness he's going to come apologize for this waiter's attitude and take care of us'. To my utter shock, that is not what happened. The owner stands over my friend and says "We do not get complaints here, so if you have something to complain about that's your problem!" My jaw was on the floor. He continued to say "We have the best food in the city and you clearly don't have good taste in food". Now not only have we still not been able to pay for our meal and leave like we wanted, we are now being personally attacked by the owner of the restaurant. I finally got so upset I yelled "please get the machine so we can pay and leave!" Which caused a lot of heads to turn causing a scene, not my intention. To be honest we should have just walked out at that point without paying since we were so disrespected. We finally paid our bills. This is the absolute only time in my life I've felt the need to not leave a tip. On our way out, the owner came over again and we asked if we could speak with him over to the side where it was quiet. He said "no I'm not speaking to you, I'm kicking you out. Please leave". Which I find funny since leaving is what we were trying to do for the past hour. He then began physically pushing us out the door. 5 young women in their twenties getting pushed out the door by a middle aged man, owner of an upscale restaurant. I was mortified. I will never return to a place where the owner has zero regard for customer experience and shows such disrespect and arrogance. If you have an opinion, I'd recommend not going to Wineology. I've never taken the time to review restaurant, so please know this is not me being petty, but I had a such a bad experience at Wineology that I felt the need to review Wineology in hopes that others will not have the experience my party did. My friends made reservations for my birthday because I've been dying to try this place as I'm a huge wine lover. An hour before our reservations two couples cancelled -- we couldn't do anything about this which dropped our party number, but we still had a large group of 8 people. When we got to the restaurant and informed the hostess we would be 4 short, the manager (possibly the owner) came over and very rudely informed us that he had "turned away over 40 people" because of our reservation. We apologized profusely, but we could tell the manager was annoyed. I do understand his frustration, but things happen -- especially in the restaurant industry, plus the place was packed. He would have only had one table for four open if we had known in advance. Anyway, instead of pulling a table for four away from our original table, he placed us in the back corner at a table for 6 -- not eight. It had a bench so we squished together and asked our waiter for another chair so we could place it at the end of the table and free up some space for when our food came. We waited 45 minutes, and asked another 3 times for a chair before we took matters into our own hands and took a chair from a nearby table where no one was sitting. On top of that, we had to ask for water 4 times before getting it an hour after our first time asking, my boyfriend's drink order was forgotten on more than one round as was his pizza when the rest of our food was brought to us (I do understand that they only have room for 4 pizzas at a time, however 6 out of the 7 pizzas ordered showed up at the same time and not his). The wine selection is mediocre at best and while the food was good, the price they charged for a meat and cheese platter of salami and cheese I can get a the supermarket is ridiculous. And to put the cherry on the icing, my party could barely hear each other talk. Even the waiter was having a hard time hearing our orders. All in all I was not impressed by anything at Wineology. My boyfriend and I have eaten at almost ever restaurant in the Walkerville area and this was the only experience that heavily disappointed us. Poor pricing, poor service, and poor atmosphere.
